Jim's Steakout receives mixed reviews. Many appreciate the delicious steak subs and Buffalo chicken, especially for late-night eats. However, inconsistent food quality (small portions, burnt bread, tough chicken), rude staff, and order inaccuracies are recurring issues.

Jim’s Steakout Buffalo Reviews
Such a great spot and a must-try if you are not local and in the area, as we were. We were not adventurous enough to try the steak and chicken together, but loved them both sampled individually. Buffalo chicken was perfect - "real" chicken, unlike a lot of places these days and just spicy enough. The steak was also great - good bread, well seasoned meat. Wish we lived closer - so many other items I would love to try.
Nothing fancy but definitely delicious, it's a bit pricier than I'd hope with some options but overall it's not super expensive, far less so than ETS across the street and in my opinion far better in general. Staff have always been nice and helpful if needed, Food is well above fast food quality and while definitely not healthy food it's extremely delicious. It's also nice that hours go as late as they do. I wish there were more options for those with gluten related allergies and vegetarians but definitely well worth going to if those things don't affect you.
Stopped by Jim’s Steakout on the way home. M Wanted to try the famous Chicken Finger Sub. I got it with Blue Cheese and everything on it (Tomato, Lettuce, Cheese, Oil, Vinegar). It was good but I didn’t go crazy over it. Service was fast and efficient. Overall good place but the Sub just wasn’t my preference.
I've been noticing that when I call to place an order over the phone I am always put on hold for along time. One time I was on hold for over 30 minutes, I drove to the Jim's on Allen Street while still on hold and there was no one in there. These guys were just standing around bullshiting. When i show the guy at the cash register how long I've been on hold while still being on hold by Jims. The guy just looked at my phone like it was nothing. Today I pull up to the Jim on Elmwood and figured I'd just order from the car while waiting outside. I called Jims to place my order, watched the guy pick up the phone and tell me to please hold and never picked the phone back up. After being on hold for 7 mins and watching 6 people go in and order while i was sitting in my car on hold. I decided to go in and order. This has happened to me several time while trying to order over the phone and I feel like jims is do this poor service for on deliberately. Jims servicesis horrible.
Ordered a 12 inch stinger sub, girl insisted we split it into two 6 inch stingers because we wanted one half dry. And then they only gave me a single half sized chicken finger on my half. I paid over 8 dollars for this. Don't order here after 11pm. Pic related. I only took two bites from the one end
My wife's food was falling apart in the bag and was wrong anyways. Expensive for nothing
I’ve always liked Jim’s SteakOut, but this location was a huge miss. The music playing was offensive 🎧🚫 and immediately set an uncomfortable, hostile vibe. The employee working the front counter — the bald girl wearing a hat — was very snappy, rude, and outright nasty 😡. I politely asked how long two DoorDash orders might take ⏱️📦, and her response was so disrespectful that I literally had to say, I don’t need to be spoken to like that — we’re supposed to be giving each other respect 🛑🤝. No one should have to say that just for asking a basic question. This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Jim’s SteakOut 👎. Someone with that kind of attitude should not be working the front counter 🚫💼. I didn’t eat here and will never return to this location 🚫🥩. Completely unacceptable experience.
The last two times I was at this location, my experience was not good. The second last time I was at this location, the turkey sub I ordered was very skimpy. It was not what you would expect from a $13 sub. There was very little turkey on it. It was what you would expect from a corner store or a gas station for $7 - $8. The last time I was at this location, I walked in the door at 1:36 a.m. One of the girls working asked me if I was picking up, to which I said no, and that I was placing an order. She told me they were closing up. I said "I thought you were open until 2:00 a.m." to which she replied, "We're closing up, and everything is put away. We can't make you anything." I would understand if I walked in at 1:55 a.m., but it was 1:36 a.m. That's 24 minutes before they're supposed to close. I drive Uber late nights and into the early morning, and I often order from various Jim's Steakout locations. This is the only one I've had a problem with. I would not recommend ordering from this location.
The bread they served me was burnt. I get bread burns sometimes but I don’t understand why they just don’t do it again and replace it. I love Jims but this place is not great at all. Please check your food before you go.
Ok so I don't usually write bad reviews, but this was unacceptable! I got home from being out of town at 3:00 a.m. and was starving. Besides McDonald's, Jim's was the only option. Back in the day when I used to drink alcohol, I'd get a 4:00 a.m. sub and it was alright. Anyways I ordered a Jim's Blue, basically just a half chicken finger sub with blue cheese and small fries. Ok, the sub was ICE COLD - so strange - bc the chicken fingers were crispy but the entire sandwich felt like it just came out of the freezer. Their fries are usually good - these tasted old and had maybe the slightest bit of warmth to them - old gross disgusting fries. How are you going to serve me a hot sub literally cold as ice cubes? There was also a handful of onions on this sub, an obscene amount of onions on the sub which i had to remove - gross, learn proportions. It was beyond terrible. Listen, I get this place is for drunk college kids and for ppl who go out when they need a bite after they're wasted. But even if I was annihilated, seeing doubles and unable to walk in a straight line - this sub would still have been trash and disappointing - this sub seriously was sub-par for Buffalo standards. I was so hungry and just wanted something decent to eat after being on road for hours. I will never return to this establishment.
I normally enjoy my food from Jim's however on 1/28/25, i couldn't. I came in to put in an order between the hours of 12 am and 1am. The African female that took my order had gloves on however I wondered why, because she was handling everything with those gloves on. I watched her handling money, touching her glasses, using her telephone, touching her clothes and then finally the food. I was so annoyed thinking about all of the germs she just spread. I was so tired, that I didn't address her and left with the food and through it out.
I asked for extra crispy & saucy chicken fingers. This is not extra crispy or extra saucy. They forgot my blue cheese, we had to go back up and ask for it. They gave me the wrong size blue cheese, I was supposed to get a bigger one. I’m a former Jim’s employee on Chippewa, I know this. There’s an older woman working there, she was RUDE as hell. It wasn’t busy either. But even if it was busy, keep it respectful. Dave would’ve fired us if we were rude with a customer. This woman needs to change. I understand mistakes happen with orders as well, but this was too many mistakes. I did still eat it, but the point was that it’s not how I ordered it, & the older lady was disrespectful.
Would NOT recommend! For $18 you would think you'd get great customer service with a smile, fountain drink refills or at least an amount of food that justifies the price we paid. None of that happened here. Grumpy cashier even though it wasn't busy or packed. Tables were dirty. Smallest burrito I've ever had - fit inside my size Medium palm - not even covering my whole hand! Fries were also super small. Save your money because you'll get more for $6 down the street at BK with drink refills. Or just go to Moe's for a Human sized Burrito with Tortilla Chips included for around $16.
I was just here earlier today, and I want to say how the older woman was incredibly loud and rude to other customers. When our food was ready, I got up to grab it, but my family and I were apparently taking too long, as the woman aggressively threw her arms up and snapped, "It's yours" she said. She also forgot to add our condiments. I will say the gentleman who took our order was very kind and easy to talk to.
Disappointed this time- chicken tenders were hard and tough and small like the Purdue kind you get out the freezer at tops. Last time we came they were the large, flat, juicy, almost battered, you know the kind. Like high quality restaurant grade tenders you can only get out at a bar or something. Lame
Not everyone who come late night on Friday is drunk. This is the second time where I ordered a stinger and got tiny chicken patty and a sloppy sandwich overall. Compared to what I am used to getting from Jim’s Steakout, this whole sandwich chicken would have been about half a sandwich. Not coming there anymore.
