This place has a nice brisket! I love a low slow smoke with a ring and these folks nailed it. The pulled pork and ribs were also quite good. They are sauce agnostic so you can get your regional choice which is nice, I tend to prefer vinegary on the pork. The sides are also on point beans, mac and hush puppies were a treat. We went on a slow winter afternoon and the service was as great. We travel about an hour to go here but it is worth it although on our last visit the dinning room was closed for reno😬

My husband and I got brisket, I got it in a sandwich and he got the meal. We were so happy with how amazing everything turned out, the brisket was perfectly cooked and fell apart in the most delicious way, all the sides were also just as good as the brisket. We went for a late lunch/early dinner and didn’t have any issues with timing or service. If we’re ever in the area again we will absolutely come back here.

On a cold Sunday afternoon we've had the privilege to frequent fat Bob's bbq and we're warmed by the amazing hospitality and friendly guests and amazing staff who went abouve and beyond to provide one of the best bbq experiences i can remember. The food was one of the best and the chicken wings were true buffalo style wings crisper to perfection and very tasty. The brisket was delicious and all the side truly make this place stand out. This gem can't stay quiet for long. Because it's just that good. The truth doesn't need any support, it speaks for itself.

I love a good shepherds pie. Ive had some wonderful ones and some terrible ones. I had no idea what to expect, but I ordered it because its Fat Bobs. Well, I made the correct choice! Damn, that was good!

Fat Bob’s was one of the first restaurants I dined at when I started working in Buffalo and easily became my favorite. Every meal has been consistently delicious and served by their friendly staff. I cannot say enough about their pulled chicken and their original barbecue sauce and their macaroni and cheese is hands down my favorite (besides my mom’s, of course). I have used Fat Bob’s for catering for a few events as well and have been equally impressed by the quality of food, portions, and the ease of having it delivered (a huge help!). Guests are always so excited to know that the food is from Fat Bob’s and enjoy it! Keep up the amazing work!

MJ has been our waiter two years in a row. He is perfect! Knowledgeable and patient! The menu is unique and full of complimenting flavors. The hostess was so polite and accommodating to our needs. Mother's restaurant is a hidden gem 💎 it's on a one way street but there always seems to be parking. The outside of the building looks conflicting then you walk in to the beautiful interiors! They also have enclosed and lit outdoor seating for better weather. Wonderful experiences and I will continue to go back every time I visit the area, if i can help it!

An absolutely packed evening it was that I decided to have dinner here, and I had to since Troy from Best Western had recommended it quite heavily, and I even tried his suggested dish, the meatloaf. Despite the full house, I tested my luck and asked a staff about a table, to which she said It’ll be a long wait, but after I spotted one and informed them, they helped set me up outdoors. It was nice and warm outdoors, and the meatloaf definitely did not disappoint, it was actually such a large portion I struggled to finish it. The vibe indoors is also completely different, it’s a lot louder, but also gave off a nice dim-lit fancy dining experience despite the crowds forming around the bar. A really lovely place!!

My husband and I love to have annual date nights here. Love the vibe of this place. It’s always clean and enjoy the laid back music they play. There’s a bar on one side then they have a few dining tables separated off to another area. Every time we have went food never disappoints. I was disappointed that there was no dine in area as it was being remodeled. Goggle did not mention that fact. I placed a take out order that was ready in a few minutes. Pulled pork sandwich and hush puppies were delicious. I was given more than enough meat for the sandwich which I ate with a fork. I am just visiting the Buffalo area, but if I lived in Buffalo I would be a frequent customer.

We visited Fat Bob's for lunch on a Saturday before going to the BPO for a show. My daughter loved her Memphis Max. My wife liked her Pulled Pork. Both had enough left over for lunch the next day. There were so many good options I wanted to try, and I decided on the Memphis Style Pulled Chicken. I wouldn't get it again. The service was excellent, but it took longer to get food that I expected. One surprise was that they do not provide corn bread with all meals as most other BBQ restaurants do. They do offer it as a side, but it counts as one of your chosen options.

The bartenders, Bob and Gary, were incredibly personable, making Mother's feel welcoming. The decor set a great vibe for the restaurant. I would have liked to have seen more local beer options. The tastes were good overall, but every dish had room for improvement. The pork belly was phenomenally cooked, but the sauce tasted entirely too sweet, detracting from the dish. The walleye was also cooked perfectly, but the sauce lacked emphasis, and the veggies were absent of any seasoning at all. The cocktail was also a bit too sweet. I would absolutely go here again, despite those comments.

Normally, Mother's has always been a 5 star restaurant to me but my last experience has me putting 4 stars. I'm hoping our bad experience was just because it was a late night visit. I always have to order the scallops and black fettuccine because it's one of my favorite dishes. This time, the pasta was completely overcooked and mushy and the scallops were overdone and rubbery. My boyfriend ordered a medium rare steak with green beans and the steak was well done and the beans were practically raw and cold. We also ordered the crab cakes which were underwhelming. We went after a show downtown without a reservation so they seated us outside on the heated patio. After close to an hour of waiting (thinking the waiter forgot to put in our order) our food came. By then, it was 11pm and we wanted to go home so felt no need to complain. We ate what we could and left. I'm sad this visit put a stain on my view of Mother's but I want to reiterate that this was always one of my favorite restaurants. I'm going to hope this was a late night fluke but I wanted to give an honest review of our latest visit!

Disappointed update: My mother got the NY Strip Steak. It was super tough and hard to cut. Our waitress, Kayla, was not attentive at all. She talked a lot to the bartender waiting for drinks. The bartender also chatted up male guests instead of making drinks, so it was a long time before we even got our first drinks. We both would have ordered more than one drink or would have had dessert if she had come to our table. She didn't even offer dessert. The table next to us got their dessert and finished it before we finally had to ask someone to get our waitress. Also, 1 of 3 stuffed banana peppers was clearly cooked upside down, so had no cheese on top (see picture). Previous experience: We came to this popular and well-known Buffalo bar/restaurant on a Thursday night, and it was still quite full/well-visited. They have a well-stocked bar with multiple bartenders and also serve food. There is a set menu along with daily specials. Unfortunately, this place does not offer vegetarian entrees. We shared two vegetarian appetizers: the stuffed banana peppers and the brie and artichoke dip. I especially liked the brie and artichoke dip. Both appetizers came with toasted bread. Our waitress was quite nice, patient, and friendly. There is seating inside and outside available. However, seating is only possible if you plan on eating.

The atmosphere is pretty cute, but where we sat was extremely low light, while around the corner the table had bright fluorescent lights. A mix between the 2 would keep it more cohesive. Finding a parking spot was rather daunting. Our meals were.. just ok. The oysters were the smallest I’ve seen but very tasty. The tuna was cooked very rare, which I like, however it was still cold inside. The biggest disappointment was that both the tuna & the strip steak were extremely plain. We were excited to try this place, as we have loved so many buffalo restaurants. The prices are low compared to many other establishments we’ve recently tried, but our meals were less than exciting. Nothing was bad, just not enough to make us go back.

Heard a lot of great things about Mother’s in Buffalo, and the place definitely looks cool inside. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. You have to order your appetizer and entrée at the same time, which felt rushed. Made a reservation for my 32nd birthday! Went with 4 other women. This was a Monday night 11/3. The atmosphere was cool but we were sat at a table right by the door and we all froze, all night. The waitress, don’t know her name as she didn’t introduce herself, did not come over for 17 minutes after we were seated. She came and asked if we wanted drinks (no pleasantries). We all ordered drinks and our food. Drinks didn’t come out for about 20 minutes. Our food took over an hour for appetizers. Hour and a half for entrees. Our waitress came over exactly once to refill our waters and ask if we wanted any other drinks for that hour and a half wait. I ordered filet mignon- medium. It came our RARE and the sides were cold. The dish had no sauce, and it was supposed to. My sister ordered the same and hers was also rare. We sent them back explaining the issue. Both plates came back and the sides were still cold and the filets still undercooked. At that point we didn’t eat it just brought it home to cook ourselves because we weren’t sending it back a second time. This was all 5 of our first time at this restaurant and none of us plan to return. I would not recommend this place to any friends. The only good part of the entire experience was the appetizers were good (clams, shrimp fritters, artichoke dip) as were the drinks. 2/10 will not return. I’ve included a picture of my “medium” filet. This is after it was allegedly recooked.
