Santoros Burbank Reviews
This place is an absolute GEM! They get their cannoli shells from their birthplace in Sicily. That speaks volumes! The meatball subs.. My God, I feel I've gone to heaven! I like getting provolone on mine, but to each their own. Love the owner, Sal, what a great guy. Everyone who works there seems like "family". I cannot wait to go again. Places like this, that have not changed at all since day 1, in a good way.. they are hard to find these days. They've been open 70 years.. they're doing something right! Thank you for existing, and working so hard to create food that we so look forward to eating. What a treat!
Great atmosphere! The crew is always willing and happy to help! We ordered 4 x 4-foot long (Pat's Deals) and were very surprised about the presentation and the amount of food! We love Santoro's!!!
Update 3-8-25 Devil’s Eyebrow: Delicious off menu Sandwich. This is a Meatball and Pastrami Sandwich. Meatball and cheese is at the bottom. Topped with Pastrami and Meatball sauce on top. We love it! Update 10-26-24 This is the Pastrami and Egg sandwich with cheese and extra mustard. It is fabulous! Look at it. The cheese is hot and stretchy. Santoro’s makes some combinations that are not on the menu and I wish to show some Golden Delicacies from Santoro’s. 9/15/24 Update The crew recommended the Italian Cold cuts and I can say there were 100% correct. Delicious. Update 9/6/24 It was 115 degrees in Burbank. It was too much to do anything in the kitchen. I wish to share how welcoming Jamal and Kayla were when I entered the door. It was hot and they are full of smiles and upbeat. I wanted to try a different sandwich. I am happy that I did try another. Here we have another wonderful Pastrami creation that Jamal made. Thanks Santoro’s Update 7/27/24 Another wonderful creation by Joe at Santoro’s. This is an absolutely delicious meatball sandwich with cheese. Santoro’s NEVER disappoints! Try it, You will love it. Update: 7-28-23 Wish to share a big Thank you to Joe, Carina and Max. I go to Santoro’s about once a week. I am greeted with a big Hello, a positive attitude and a line. Last Saturday, they ran out of bread. It is that busy on weekends. To Sal the owner: Big compliment for having an excellent crew. The line moves quickly and they always get my orders right. Thank you, Santoro’s! Santoro’s has been a golden staple in Burbank since 1956. It is because the sandwiches are delicious. Look at my Turkey sandwich. It is a work of art. I have tried just about every sandwich and can say that they are all excellent. I am a big fan of the oil and herb mixture that they add to the subs. I went in and has my sandwich within 5 minutes. The girls at the counter were friendly and welcomed me. There is only street parking but plenty of it. They do large subs for parties as well.
5 Stars - A Must-Try Pastrami Powerhouse! Santoro’s Subs in Burbank absolutely blew me away! I came in for the pastrami sub and left wondering how I’ve lived this long without it. Perfectly seasoned, stacked high, and served hot—it’s hands down the best pastrami sandwich I’ve had. On top of that, the service was fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It’s clear they care about both the food and the customer experience. If you’re anywhere near Burbank, this place is a no-brainer. I’ll be back (probably tomorrow).
Very good sandwiches! The pastrami is italian style, delicious! Pickles are really good. We had the meatball sandwich too, it was good but i I strongly recommend pastrami. Sandwichs are really big, the pictures are half of each. The place is nice, like an old deli and the people are amazing, so nice and friendly!!
A small cozy sandwich shop. The shop had some variety to their menu. The staff is friendly and helpful with the customers. The place is at a nice quiet spot. Good sandwich and would definitely visit again.
First time at Santoro’s today and I gotta say…this place is LEGIT! Been around for nearly 70 years for a year…perfect bread, amazing loaded sandwich…forggeddaboudit this is what I’m talking about bro!
By far, the best subs in the valley! It's definitely a stop every time I'm in Cali! Thanks to Sal and everyone that works there for making our experiences over the last 30 years amazing!
This place is the best of the best. My favorite sandwich shop in the U.S. I make sure to drop by every time I visit LA. My favorite is the Italian but you really can’t go wrong with any of their cold subs. Make sure to get the diced tomatoes, onions, and pickles. There more you get on your sandwich, the more delicious it will be. There is no better sandwich joint that I know of whether it’s a foot long for yourself or one of their 6 ft subs for parties. It’s all good.
THE BEST. Run. These guys know how to make an Italian sandwich. If you love pickles then this will be your place. I crave this place all the time and they do it right. I can’t find anywhere that makes a simple Italian sandwich as good as these guys.
This is a great sandwich shop. I've been going to this shop for 45 years and it has not changed. Very tasty food and friendly service. There is parking in back and on the street in front. They can be busy at lunch time. Sandwiches are topped with chopped onion, pickles and tomato. Give them a try, I think you'll like it.

Awesome pastrami sandwich I had to get 1 to go it was so good
These subs are a San Fernando Valley classic. My family and I have been coming here for years. Great tasting subs and good quick service.
The food was Excellent!! The staff and service was Amazing. Highly recommend A+++
Been going to Giamela's in Sunland for years with the same group of friends, so we decided to try a new sandwich spot for a change and landed on Santoro's. Called in an order of 4 subs for pickup. Sal was friendly and funny, and provided great service. The place is nice and clean, and has an old-fashioned feel. The subs had quality ingredients, were put together perfectly, and are priced competitively. Overall excellent experience!! Very impressed! Definitely going to be the go-to sub stop from now on.

Drove 22 hours to try one of these world famous subs. I hear people talk about them all the way over here in Texas. Worth it!!!!!! Highly recommend 👌🤠👍

Stopped by Santoro’s Submarine Sandwich in Burbank for lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and our cheesesteak and pastrami sandwiches came out super fast, which was great! Both sandwiches had good flavor, but the bottoms were a bit soggy and wet, which took away from the overall experience. Still, the service was excellent and the food was satisfying just needs a little improvement on the bread to make it perfect.
Santoro’s Submarine Sandwiches is a Burbank’s hidden gem. I ordered my sandwich via DoorDash. Would recommend to order in person. The store has this nice old school vibes (not many left). They have a separate window for pickup orders outside (I didn’t know that). I ordered Pastrami Sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I had in a while. The bread was soft and the meat was juicy. It got a little soggy because of mustard. This sandwich needs to be eaten at store for full experience. All it was missing was salt and pepper (personal taste). I couldn’t find parking right outside the store wish they had separate parking space. The store was busy and the service was quick. Even though I had a very small interaction with the employees I can say that they were amazing. The only complain I have is packaging for hot sandwiches. Wish they double wrapped the sandwich. Taste-4.5/5 Service-4.5/5 Packaging- 3/5 Ambience and Seating-4/5 I will be back to try their famous Italian sub. Would recommend this place to all.

Use to go here a long time ago, and decided I wanted a pastrami sub. When you first go unless you’ve been here recently it’s confusing what door to go to in order to get in the establishment. There isn’t signs stating what door to enter. At first I thought it was closed. When you walk in of course it looks like a deli, but definitely out dated. Of course nostalgia is great, but this place just needs some fresh paint maybe. Not very inviting. The girls behind the counter didn’t act like they wanted to be there. Not very congenial. No smiles. The pastrami sub I ordered was doused in mustard which took allot of flavor away from the pastrami. When I got to the other half of the sub I just ate the meat because too much mustard. The sub isn’t bad, but not a fav. They don’t use the best pastrami nor cheese. It’s very thin slices, stringy, peppery, and allot of fat. The pastrami is very dry and over cooked. I remember these being so much better years ago. The cheese is almost like plastic. Doesn’t really melt. Not really a fan anymore. For the price it’s reasonable.

1st Bite, Pepper steak and eggs, i was a little disappointed maybe because i took it home 30 minutes the expected flavors just were not there, roasted turkey sandwich minus pickles and onions the next day was quite the bite surprised deliciousness. The pastrami was not bad also. Maybe next time it has to be eaten while its hot. Dont know when2nd bite will. I will advise.

Subs were not very good. Especially the pepper steak was too chewy and dry. They need better bread, better meat (pastrami was better) and better sauce/flavor. The place looked too simple, I didn't feel welcomed. I had high hope looking at good reviews, too bad I won't come back again.
OK, I understand that what I got may not be what you should get at a sandwich shop. But still, I got the tuna salad sandwich because I love tuna. I figured it would be at least decent. It was probably the worst tuna salad I’ve ever had. They need to take the lettuce out of it first of all because all you taste is the lettuce and no tuna, and the lettuce gets soft. Anyways this place has a lot of good reviews so maybe I’ll have to try the other sandwiches. But the tuna is awful.
Horrible experience. We requested no mayo or mustard on one of the sandwiches. They asked 2 more times while making it. We said no mayo and mustard again and again. Just got home and it is oozing with mustard and mayo. Guest cannot eat it. Will never go back. Do not recommend.
