Goodthing Coffee Burlingame Reviews
This is such a cute coffee shop that offers a little bit of everything. The atmosphere is chill and they have an outside patio in the back as well as inside seating but limited. I had their pour over and it definitely delivered with flavor and a good kick. I also tried the very popular Pistachio Einspanner latte and that was really good and now I know why it’s a favorite. The pastries are so cute looking and they pair well with their coffee. I ordered the Hokkaido Cheesecake and it was delish and the perfect size. The baristas are super chill and knowledgeable not to mention they have latte art skills. So if you’re in the area and want good coffee come check it.
Enjoyed visiting Burlingame and posting up here at Goodthing Coffee. They have plenty of tables in the back for you to hang out as well. They’re coffee selection is really good. The banana latte was tasty and it reminded me of banana pudding with coffee. The matcha was great as well and I appreciated the barista adjusting the taste of it for me to make it a little sweeter. I would love to come back here again and visit the area more. There’s a lot going on in this area and it seems very festive.
They have really amazing Hokkaido cheesecake that’s worth a try!! We also ordered oragami pour over (costa rica) and it tasted good but light with acidity. The americano also felt on the lighter side using the espresso beans. Beans have good quality so we ended up getting the beans to make pour over at home. Def 10 out of a 10, hands down for the cheesecake!
i’m really happy to find out that they use and sell DAK coffee beans. the flat white i got was good, and the other funner drinks i saw people getting looked tasty too. definitely coming back to try more of their menu.
Found this gem while strolling through the neighborhood. The staff here are incredibly welcoming, they even surprised me with a complimentary Canelé, which honestly stole the show! It had that signature hard, crackly shell and an airy, tender interior that was perfectly balanced in sweetness. Pair it with a latte, and you’re set. I also gave their Hojicha Latte a go; while the milk was steamed beautifully, the tea flavor felt a little light. A bit more punch from the Hojicha would make it a 10/10. Still, a wonderful spot with great energy and top-tier pastries.
Killer use of natural lighting ! The music also contributes to the inviting and energetic atmosphere. We ordered the Urban Angel. A lovely matcha infused concoction. Simple and soothing taste, but i could never reinvent this. Their Hokkaido cheesecake was fluffy and flavorful. Their Dubai chocolate cookie was my 1st taste of this trending chocolate experience and THEY SET THE STANDARD. The flavor was all encompassing and overall a high standard in my book. If all Dubai chocolate doesn’t taste this good, I don’t want it. Places like these remind of the that daily place you hit every morning on your walk to work. And if you’re lucky enough, the smells and tastes linger just long enough till you make it to you next visit tomorrow morning. Also, all the employees are just dope and down to earth people.
Seems I finally found my favorite latte in the Bay. The beans were so aromatic it made me pause after the first sip. They have a La Marzocco and Mahlkonig grinder. Also tried the hojicha, it was good. Seating options inside and in the back. Decor is artsy with east asian influence.
This cafe is a hidden gem! I visited during the last week of December and tried their seasonal matcha latte with strawberry cream, paired with a Hokkaido cheesecake. It was my first time having a matcha drink with fruit, and it was absolutely delightful! The sweetness and slight tartness of the strawberry cream complemented the matcha perfectly. As for the Hokkaido cheesecake, it was a dream come true for a cheesecake lover like me—creamy, not overly sweet, and simply delicious. The cafe itself is a cute little spot with a minimal aesthetic, adding to the overall charm. I can’t wait to return and try their matcha cheesecake next. Their chocolate chip and Dubai chocolate cookies looked tempting too. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
Got the pistachio einspanner, which is essentially espresso with some cream on top. The pistachio cream only had a hint of the nutty flavor, but overall the texture of it is perfectly thick and sweetness wasn't too strong, making the whole drink very very mildly sweet. There's also small bits of pistachio which boosted the nutty flavor and added even more texture. Overall would come back and get it again. I also want to try their pastries next time, which was sold out at Sunday around 3pm.
A good selection of white, black and contemporary. I ordered their popular Pistachio Einspanner and their traditional Rocky’s Matcha. I also ordered their Dubai chocolate and chocolate chip walnut cookie.
The cafe’s minimalistic Scandinavian interiors brings a clean aesthetic that goes well with the Japanese Hokkaido cheesecakes. The cheesecakes have a thick layer of cream that has a perfect balance with the cheese cream that makes it smooth with a perfect hint of cheese.

I recently discovered a trendy new coffee shop that’s quickly becoming my favorite spot. The highlight is their einspanner coffee, which is a perfect blend of rich espresso topped with a velvety cream—absolutely divine! They also offer a fantastic pour-over coffee that showcases the unique flavors of their exclusive European beans. For a sweet treat, don’t miss the matcha yuzu cheesecake. It’s a delightful balance of earthy matcha and citrusy yuzu, making it both refreshing and indulgent. The strawberry shortcake is equally impressive, with layers of fluffy cake and fresh strawberries that feel like a taste of summer. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, with plenty of outdoor seating that’s perfect for enjoying your coffee in the fresh air. Whether you’re looking for a place to relax or catch up with friends, this coffee shop hits all the right notes. Highly recommended!
Came here for matcha and there was a constant queue of people here for their coffee/matcha! Ordered the urban angel which was really good. Although it came with a spoon which I wasn’t sure why. Staff were friendly, lovely cafe!
Tidy little cafe that punches far above its weight with standout food and drinks. Their signature drink is the pistachio einspanner, a layered latte with a float of sweetened pistachio cream on top. Their most popular pastries sell out quickly, though I've been lucky to try their chocolate chip cookie, which I am pleased to say has walnuts, and the Dubai chocolate cookie, which has a bit of crunchy knafeh hidden in the middle to add texture. The only things that I wish were different would be more seating inside and opening on Tuesdays, but all in all, this is a great addition to downtown Burlingame.
4 for the flat white. 5 for the walnut cookie & Hojicha brownie. The sweetness only comes from the chocolate chips. It's rare to find here a dessert place that just has a hint of sweetness. The price is steep though probably because the ingredients are not skimped and masked by sugar.
Got their guihua matcha with whole milk. It was very good but pretty sweet. The guihua flavor was pretty intense and nice. Sometimes it can have a bitter flavor when I’ve tried to make it at home but this was good. Pricey though.
Very cute cafe in Burlingame! The drinks are kinda overpriced but pretty good. For the einspanners, I asked for less sweetness and it was perfect. The black sesame and pistachio ones were both great. The matcha yuzu cake was also nice.
We love a cute little coffee shop. A bit late, but I stopped by this shop almost 2 months ago with a couple friends. Not sure if it was just open, but it really was crowded! We were able to get a couple seats near the door. I grabbed the matcha einspanner! A little smaller than I expected, but delicious nonetheless. I would definitely come back! A bit crowded to sit around to work, but a great spot to grab a caffeinated drink, little sweet treat, and catch up with a friend. Service: 4/5 Food/Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5
Got the grapefruit earl grey roll cake - grapefruit flavor was good, with real fruit inside, but no earl grey flavor at all, and a bit too sweet.

I ordered the pistachio einspanner and the tiramisu cheesecake, and the total came out to around $23, which feels pretty steep for what you get. Unfortunately, both items were underwhelming. The einspanner lacked a strong coffee flavor, and the pistachio taste was barely noticeable unless you happened to sip some of the crushed pistachio bits. The tiramisu cheesecake was also quite bland — I couldn’t taste much coffee at all, which is disappointing for a dessert that’s supposed to highlight it. Overall, the place seems more Instagram-worthy than memorable in terms of flavor
a tiny space. the coffee was good but portion was smaller than i expected, there are better options out there. cheesecake was also good- i liked the silky layers of cream & fluffy cake but the price is kinda crazy. definitely worth trying once, but…
TL;DR: Above average flavor for an expensive half cup of coffee. Goodthing definitely has above average options for a local cafe. Amazing cheesecakes and pastries, solid coffee menu, and an atmosphere that allows for a sit down to chat or even work if they aren’t too busy. Keep in mind, the price per unit of anything here is very steep. As a cold brew bro myself, if you are reading this, you won’t get your money’s worth unfortunately as my picture shows if you order a coffee without ice, they will leave a great deal of space. You might be saying “of course! They can and should do that” and I would agree with you. Especially these days with margins of businesses being so tight, but…the cup is already smaller than your average size. And I’m out +$7
goodthing coffee is a new small cafe in downtown Burlingame. Matcha is the focus and they serve a few desserts. I really wanted to like this place as I enjoy matcha and the Peninsula is lacking in high quality spots. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend anything we tried. The matcha lattes tasted only of milk and the quantity of matcha wasn’t consistent between the drinks. The cookie looked great but was very dry.

The place is neat and offers seating both inside and outside. It seems like a good spot to study or do some work. They have a few options for pastries and coffee. However, I tried the cappuccino and latte, and both were very weak in flavor; they weren't good.
