Tip: The 2-meat combo is plenty for two people to share. Portions are huge, so consider splitting a plate. Try the musubi and ask for the "secret" salsa macha.

William BBQ Burlingame Reviews
Had a baby shower last weekend and order from William BBQ in San Carlos. The food was a hit at the party. I ordered the bbq chicken, Wagyu beef, fried fish, broccoli, and macaroni salad. I love their their macaroni salad that had some Coleslaw mixed in. The food portions were big and we were able to take some home. They also delivered to the house since I bought a certain amount. Came with condiments (teriyaki, fish sauce, hot sauce, and ketchup). I highly recommend them. Will certainly order from William BBQ again. Great friendly service!
Place offered 4 menu options of different Hawaiian BBQ options like bbq chicken, beef and wagyu. All 3 meat options had great flavor and were tender. Chicken and wagyu stood out for me. Rice was not dry and delicious. Macaroni salad tasted really good. All in all I gave this place 5 stars because the service was good, the portions were really well served, and the food tasted great. If you’re on Laurel and want something tasty and quick please stop by this place. It’s a big blue sign with a Grand Opening banner right next to Big Lou’s Liquor. You will not regret it. It’s a great thing to have.
There's a lot of potential here and I'm glad there's a new Hawaiian BBQ spot. It's not a chain restaurant, so there's potential for homemade Hawaiian flavors from scratch. I'm picky about Hawaiian BBQ, but this does the trick and I would come back. The portions were the highlight. They filled up my plate. The katsu had the right flavors and crisp. I could do without the sauce and it would be better if the sauce was one the side. The ribs and bbq plates were just right with a lot of flavor. The rice was cooked well, which is important not to mess up. The macaroni salad was a little sweet, but I liked the flavor overall. Parking is easy and staff was friendly.
**Hidden Hawaiian BBQ Gem – William BBQ** I stumbled upon William BBQ and what a delightful find! This hidden Hawaiian BBQ gem is a must-visit. I went for lunch and ordered the BBQ Wagyu Beef and Chicken Katsu combo. Both were cooked to perfection—flavorful, tender, and absolutely satisfying. I also requested extra broccoli with my meal, and they delivered! It was fresh, well-cooked, and complemented the main dishes perfectly. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive. If you’re in the mood for Hawaiian BBQ with top-notch ingredients and great flavors, don’t miss this spot. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Super massive portions, delicious food, very sweet family running the restaurant. You can really tell how much love and care they put into their food and service. We had the BBQ chicken, chicken katsu, and ribs. I think all were delicious and the Mac salad was not too sweet. I appreciated all the sauce options as well. Please support you will not be disappointed!
Walked in not expecting much but was greeted lovingly by a sweet family running shop by themselves. They seemed delighted that we were eating In and the small homey setting really felt like they inviting us to sit at their table. The spam masubi was incredible, served fresh, with a sweet sauce, and a little touch of pork sung in there made all the difference. I got the wagyu beef with egg meal. It also came with that signature sauce and the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. As we left, packing up the leftovers off the heaping plates of food, the father ran out to give us some extra sauce and make sure we didn’t leave without knowing how much we were appreciated. The incredible food and the family’s hospitality truly made it feel like I was eating a home cooked meal with my grandparents and I would love to come back and support them more!
Wow this place is amazing. If you’re thinking about it or looking for a great spot, don’t look any further—this is the right spot. Also, somehow the best Mac salad I’ve had anywhere in USA or Hawaii. Props to these folks.
Convenient, good tasting catering options for at-home small parties. We appreciated the delivery as well. Thank you!
We LOVE this place - it's the closest to a 'plate lunch' and portions are great. Bbq chicken, katsu chicken, short rib & wagyu beef are what we keep ordering in different combos. If you have a small gathering, consider using their catering for the main dish and at least 1 side. We ordered bbq chicken & mac salad for 7 people (instead of ordering separate meals) - it was hit! Yes, I could have made both, but for the price, got to relax and visit instead!!! You need to either call or go in (we used San Carlos location) to see the catering menu- they don't have it on the website yet. We ordered at 1pm & they had it ready by our 3pm pickup time. All of the staff are friendly- they are working the hot grill, but will still share a smile!
Nice and warm family business. Great value for Hawaiian BBQ. Not the most healthy choice but I love it. Quality is very consistent.
Huge portions, friendly staff, and the chicken katsu here is outstanding! Will definitely be coming back
Good portion size for the money. Food is good and fast.
Very good roast, my son and I love it, we can eat only one portion, the portion is generous! It tastes good!
greart food. Friendly owner. Must try.
I really like the chicken combo. It comes with a little less mac salad than I often like, so I usually order an extra side of mac salad and rice so I have plenty. The sides are very cheap for the portions provided. Only critical remark: I'd love to see a bigger drink selection. I don't like Coca Cola products and this place only carries the classic sodas. That's a small mark on an otherwise great meal! If you're planning to eat here, just know that the dining area is limited.
Friendly service, the food was incredible. I got the chicken katsu and short rib combo. It was a mountain of food, perfectly cooked and delicious. They clearly take a lot of pride in their food, come check it out!
Food was phenomenal. Service was great. Great value.
We love this family-owned restaurant. Food is cooked fresh and prices are reasonable. Good people also!
3rd time here now and its better than the first time. Wagyu beef combo was good. Beef was nice and tender. Portions were as expected compared to other Hawaiian BBQ places. Macaroni salad seems to have improved.
Intimate place with little seating but amazing food. We got the food to go. Food was ready in about 10 mins. One serving of the William BBQ chicken was large enough for me and my partner to split. Would recommend!
Consistently very delicious and of a great value. Almost never any line. Albeit I wish their menu was a little bigger.. the staff here is very kind
We casually walked around down town and found this restaurant Got curious first and happy with the result They are nice and friendly Their food is good
The greatest Hawaiian food ever !!! I’ve been going to this location when they were a Chinese restaurant and I still go now that they are a Hawaiian bbq spot. The workers are extremely friendly and the place is very clean. The food is extremely good and way better than any Hawaiian bbq spot around the area. I ordered the half chicken bbq plate and half katsu and it’s so good. Definitely recommend this place and I wish I can give William bbq more than 5 stars !!!!
Wow this place is AMAZING. Loved their food. I’ve never had spam musubi with pork sung in the rice. I got the wagyu beef and galbi combo and they were delicious as well! Too bad I live far from here.
It's not big enough to dine in for groups but, their food is delicious and huge portions.
Very good BBQ mix plate. I'll be back next time for the chicken katsu. Small menu but has everything you'd want from Hawaiin BBQ. Friendly staff too!
Great food! We normally pick up food and take it home. I love the Hot Wheels posted on the wall! Great tasting Hawaiian food!
Great little Hawaiian plate spot. 2 meat combo is plenty for two people to share. Great Mac salad.
Just moved to the area and absolutely love it! Service is great and friendly. Food tastes good and the portions are large!
Friendly staff and excellent island/plate lunch, try the musubi too. I love these guys!
Really good food!!! We just ate here and he offered to try musubi...was great!!! Very nice and clean!! Rice bowls are awesome 😋thank you!!!
Good food, friendly people. The musubi meat was thick! Short ribs and chicken katsu were nice.
Great service, there wasn’t a wait but if there was worth it !!! the quality is easily visible ! 10/10 bbq chicken 10/10 for the fríes 10/10 macaroni salad
The short ribs had to much sauce on them to see if the ribs had seasoning on them. The Mac + Slaw+ 1 literal piece of broccoli this restaurant excels at with flavor. First off they gave 1 literal piece of broccoli, the piece was good and I think grilled but they gave only 1 soo that was a turn off to want to order from here again. I'd order the the sides for sure if I did order again but the short ribs I've had way better and made way better without a sauce to save them to taste good.
Decent food but the chicken was very saucy and peppery, not exactly what I expected. I also got a single piece of broccoli which was weird, but I stole from someone else and it was good. Didn't really dig the mac salad. I think I'll come back and order something else.
Really enjoyed the wagyu, ribs, chicken, and grilled shrimp. The combination mac salad and coleslaw was interesting. Will be back.
William BBQ had the Aloha spirit. Talked with Lon and shared my thoughts about his restaurant. I was disappointed that he did not have the most common dish -- teriyaki beef plate, however, maybe next time. The kid's bowl was perfect . We enjoyed chicken katsu and the grilled shrimp bowl. Substituted rice for the mac salad...that was nice of him to do so. Went away filling full after a hearty lunch. We'll be back, Lon. Aloha & Mahalo
I ordered the chicken katsu and the Hawaiian chicken. They were both good, the only criticism would be the portion size of the macaroni salad and rice should have been a little bit larger. The sauces that came with it were okay.
Chicken ok, prawns overcooked. Very little space inside. Dine-in meals are packed into plastic bags, that say 'eco-friendly', but they aren't - this is a regular plastic.
We try to give local San Carlos business and this Hawaiian bbq is a great idea. The bbq was cooked to perfection, but the meat quality can be better. The Hawaiian chicken was better, but the beef (short ribs) was fatty and thin. The rice and macaroni portions were fine, but only provided 3 small broccoli florets as garnish. There was too much sauce too , and a bit of the sauce leaked out of the paper bag and on to the seat of my car.
Alot of grissle L&L next time, step your game up Williams bbq. Looked nothing like the picture.
bad food bad experience, i ordered the wagyu and the meat was not cooked enough, i chewed and chewed for minutes and could not swallow the meat it would not break down, i went back in the restautant told the worker thus meat is not chewable is this how it is and he said yes, and did not care to hear me out, it was absolute trash of response didnt bother to say il make u some more meat well done or nothing l, just ok is all he had to say, so not fair i paid 21 dollars for this trash and was not reinbursted or food exchanged. All i ate was the mac salad and rice
Used to love this place but recently I ordered it on DoorDash and the food did not look like it used to. BBQ chicken was dry and with barely any sauce on it; a single broccoli in it. Macaroni salad was such a big disappointment. Macaroni bits were smaller, lacked creaminess and was mixed with lettuce to compensate for the lack of macaroni salad. Utterly disappointed in this drop in quality…
