As Greeks, delicious Greek food! We came here with an open mind after not enjoying other Mediterranean restaurants on laurel st, and we were pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Ali was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and gave us amazing service. We had the trio dip and shrimp skewer appetizer to start with great cocktails. Then met with no rush we ordered our entrees with another round of drinks that were brought in timely fashion. We finished the night with rizogalo (rice pudding) and gelato. Truly felt like we were in Greece for a night, we will be back.

Excellent Greek food and great service! We ordered the falafel and grilled shrimps for appetizer and both were delish ! The shrimp was perfectly grilled and juicy. We also ordered the Tzatziki dip which came with warm and freshly made pita bread and made a heartwarming combo. For main course we ordered grilled salmon and chicken souvlaki. Again, excellent preparations with lots of sides and generous portions. Lastly my children wanted dessert so we ordered the chocolate layered cake and baklava. The baklava was so perfect in sweetness …. not the common sugar dipped over sweet type but a perfect touch of sweetness to a whole lot of crunch. The chocolate cake was also delightful, soft and melted in our mouths.

If I could give another star I would. Not only was the food great, the service was phenomenal. Best homemade Hummus I had in a while. My favorite was the Manti, which really taste like being in the Mediterranean again. My second favorite was the saghanaki, who knew cheese and lemon are perfect together?

Great experience starting with delicious food selection, wonderful service and nice quiet atmosphere. I can mention the octopus 🐙 wich is absolutely amazing 5 stars ✨, tzatziki mashed eggplant and hummus mix of 3 served with pita as well, fried calamari, cheese pizza for the little one and of course lamb gyro wich deserves applause. The lamb was medium rare prepared but was absolutely delicious. Sparkling water served with lemon absolutely necessary on hot days, delicious coffe and fancy looking cold beer served for my husband. Obviously will come back !!! And yeah recommend this place!!!

Delicious Greek food with awesome service! The hummus and the tzatziki were perfectly matched with the warm pita bread, and the gyro platter was perfectly cooked and well-paired with the fresh Greek salad. Very limited parking on Laurel Street, but plenty of other parking lots within a 5-minute walk.

Very enjoyable meal. A mezes followed by a lamb and beef souvlaki shared, with baklava and sweet dessert wine for afters. Meat was excellent, but rice and side vegetables were especially nice , fresh cooked. We visited on a quiet day, so no wait. Will be back.

We finally made our way to Pylos last night and had a delicious dinner. Service was excellent and food was incredibly fresh and tasty. The warm pita and sun-dried tomato spread was yummy as was the avgolemono soup and spanakopita. The chicken in the souvlaki was very moist and juicy and I loved the inclusion of potatoes in the moussaka, something that isn’t always done but to me, gives the dish balance and makes it a bit more substantial. The bechamel on top was rich and creamy just like mom’s. Will return for gyros soon!

I don't have much experience with Greek cuisine, but I went with both my sisters (the first time there) and they told me the food taste matches what they have paid for in other places. For the appetizer I had the horiatiki (Greek salad), dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves, herb/rice mix) which was so full of taste and falafel which were moist and not very dry like I have found in other restaurants. I've ordered now, various times, the chicken souvlaki (pictured here) which are skewered chicken thighs, very juicy, not over cooked with roasted veggies and tzatziki (cucumber yogurt sauce). My wife had the sea bass which was moist, not over cooked, not over salted (pic here). Since I have gone back now for an anniversary dinner, at the end of dinner, JJ the the waiter surprised us with Baklava with honey syrup and vanilla ice cream which was just wonderful (I blew my calorie counting for that day). He even put 2 candles on top. JJ is a very animated waiter, he is very friendly and will check up on you to see if there is anything else he can do for you. There is also outside seating. Parking is on San Carlos Avenue or Laurel Street. I'll be going back there soon.

The food is amazing. After a week of eating american food, it was so refreshing eating something with real vegetables in it. I really want to emphasize how good the food is. Please order everything. The atmosphere and service were also excellent!

The food was simply divine, with flavors that danced on the palate and a richness that lingered long after the meal. Giorgio, our server, made the evening truly special with his attentive service and expert recommendations, guiding us through the menu with grace and charm. The combination of delicious cuisine and top-notch service made our meal at Pylos a memorable one. Thank you, Giorgio, Saadet, and the entire team at Pylos for a fantastic dining experience. I'll be returning soon!

Overall an excellent meal with warm and friendly service. My beyti was generously portioned and tasty, while the spreads/dips were delicious (we opted for the two eggplant ones and the pepper one). The only ding in my opinion was the calamari- relatively small portion and somewhat bland.

We really loved the food at Pylos today . This is our first time there and we will be going back there again. Who knew on a lazy late Sunday afternoon, my culinary sensory would come alive at Pylos ! We tried the Pylos salad , the Gyro Wrap and the Hummus and the Turkish coffee. Where to start ? The hummus was creamy, fresh and the pita bread was yummy , soft and freshly baked. It felt like a comfort food as was melting in the mouth. As I was eating the salad , it appeared to me every pieces of vegetables along side the salad mix with olive oil itself individually yummy , had distinctive flavor, frangnance and the Feta cheese was really yummy . So were the lettuce and the cherry tomatoes. It was refreshing salad .

I don’t enjoy giving less stars, but for my taste buds - the pita & gyro meat were a little too dry so if I could, I would knock 1/2 a star, but the taste of all the food was great! The tzatziki was thick & delicious. The salad was super fresh. My friend enjoyed her salmon added to the pear salad (I apologize for forgetting the proper name) and she said it was the 2nd best salad she’s ever had! And the staff were all super attentive and kind! I’ll come back again & try more things especially since I’m new to the area and will be here more often.

+ The lamb shank was satisfactory. Their tzatziki was great. - The hummus & pita bread were okay. The half plate was not properly cleaned. I felt a bit hot. They could turn on the air conditioner.

Good family restaurant in downtown San Carlos. There is a good menu selection including a kids menu. The favorites were the lamb chops, the salmon which was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside and the baklava. The pita bread with sun dried tomato spread was a big hit.

I can't say this place is in the food quality of Evvia or other Mediterranean cuisines but it certainly is tasty. The food leans a bit on the bland side but I guess most Mediterranean food does to a bit. All the meats from the platter tasted similar. Octopus was good. Dessert was great. But most of all, the staff was absolutely friendly. We'll return.

The staffs were really kind and nice, good at selling their dishes…like chef’s special, etc. I took the special cuisine, Seafood skewers, but seems the plating and quality were lower than other regular dishes on the menu. The atmosphere was just okay, not a fancy place.
