Came here for Valentine’s Day and it was such a wonderful experience. Our server was amazing and very attentive, and the food came out promptly and it was very delicious. It is a perfect date night spot!

Excellent food. Rooftop is nice, beautiful garden environment. Mostly bar atmosphere inside. We had the beef gnocchi, pear and melted Brie salad, shrimp linguine - all were amazing but the shrimp stood out as 10/10.

Went here tonight with our some who lived in the area. Could not have been any better. Food was great, sat outside on the roof deck and it was beautiful. Staff is super friendly and could not have been better. A+++

This is my absolute favorite place to get dinner. Such a gem in this city. All of my favorite people work here and they’re so personable every time I go in they remember the smallest of details which makes it feel like such a cozy place and it makes me feel really taken care of. The food is top notch and honestly deserves a Michelin star. Whenever anyone is in town this is where I take them. I I have been recommending this place to everyone I know and I can’t sing high enough praise about it. Love this place, highly recommend!

I had an exceptional dining experience at Daedalus, and much of that was thanks to our server, Niall. From the moment we were seated, Niall was super sweet and incredibly attentive, ensuring we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. His friendly demeanor and excellent service truly enhanced our dining experience. The food at Daedalus was fantastic. We started with the burrata bruschetta, which was a perfect blend of creamy and tangy flavors – a delightful way to begin our meal. For the main course, I ordered the scallops, which were cooked to perfection. The risotto accompanying the scallops was initially a bit too salty, but the staff handled it impressively. The manager quickly addressed the issue and had a new plate prepared for me. The risotto the second time around was absolutely amazing – creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Niall’s great service, combined with the restaurant’s excellent food and responsive management, made for a memorable evening. The way the team handled the minor hiccup with the risotto showed their commitment to customer satisfaction, which I deeply appreciated. Overall, Daedalus offers a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and outstanding service. Niall’s warmth and professionalism left a lasting impression, and I will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience!

Tried three dishes and one drink here. Food was incredible, drinks okay. I ordered the gnocchi. Out of this world. The gnocchi themselves were okay, but the sauce and other items made this dish incredible. The squash and creamy sauce were some of the best I've had. The octopus appetizer was crazy good and the scallops were pretty good from my wife's sayso. The waiter was okay at best, but the ambiance and food drove this place 5/5.

Ordered pear brie salad, salmon tacos and scallops w/risotto & broccolini. Service was great...never had to ask for a water glass refill. Food was excellent. We had had to push our reservations back because we were running late and they were polite about it and got the 2 of us seated within 5 min. upon our arrival

Walked in at 9pm for dinner and was seated quickly downstairs, in a quiet corner, and checked on promptly by the bartender (Brian V) who was also my server. I was between steak tips and pork tenderloin and the server, and he efficiently suggested the pork, which was cheaper. I’ll have to go back to see if he was right, but the pork was absurdly good. It was juicy and well-seasoned, and came with potatoes and two veggies, all of which were perfectly seasoned, tasty, and hot. I was about 3 minutes from done eating when a party of 11 came in to the then-empty downstairs so I waited a little longer than I preferred until he returned, but he came back to check on me immediately after the large party was served their drinks. At that point, I ordered the chocolate cake, subbing the coconut ice cream for vanilla, as I have a near-allergy condition (oral allergy syndrome) which makes coconut a bad idea for me. Unfortunately for me, the server came back from the kitchen and told me there was cross contamination between the cake and the coconut, and wasn’t comfortable serving me cake even though I explained my (non-deadly, but unpleasant) condition more clearly to him, and indicated that I could consume coconut as long as it wasn’t an ingredient I would at worst have an unpleasant evening. Anyways, while I would have loved to try the cake, I VERY much appreciate the server’s attention to detail and concern for my safety. On the whole, the food was excellent, service was very good, and the vibes were pleasant. I will definitely be back, but I certainly hope that by that point the coconut ice cream is in the trash, where it belongs, and the dessert menu contains at least two choices of chocolate dessert without nuts or coffee of any kind spoiling them!

Great food and drinks. We just grabbed a couple appetizers but both were super flavorful @amp_eats (instagram and Facebook)

Amazing place. The menu is really delectable. I was not very hungry but I'm definitely coming back to sample the rest of the menu. We got Rusty Nails (great), hummus+pita, duck confit, and a burger. Food was really good. The apps were pricey, but they're offset by the entrées being priced fairly. So you may as well just get an entrée.

It's not very often that a restaurant in Boston impresses but we were completely amazed with every aspect of the Daedalus. Stopped by to check out the rooftop and grab drinks. The place looks incredible and the drinks and service were great. Our waiter, Ricky was really personable and considerate. Ended up sticking around for dinner and it was phenomenal, too. Couldn't have found a better place. Will definitely recommend.

Doors open at 5, and we walked in at 501. Everything was beautifully set with a smiling hostess waiting to take us upstairs to a lovely dining area. Their is am option to sit outside but yo it was 85 and we were good. We had the bruchetta with burrata, the arugula salad, the elote corn salad, and truffle fries. My friend had a mock tail, while I enjoyed a margarita and a direct coke. The tab brought us to 95 buckaroos. The food was exquisite as was the service!

Daedalus is a go-to in Harvard Square. Great cocktails, food, and service. In the warmer seasons the rooftop area is made available — a really enjoyable experience. The staff is very kind and service is fast. A great place to grab a drink, meet friends, or just enjoy something to eat.

Great rooftop, it has heating up there now! Tables seated well apart, good food. Seafood risotto was delicious!

I got their summer gnocchi and enjoyed it! Didn't get the outdoor seating, but the ambience on the 2nd floor was still pretty nice.

The drinks were not bad. What I like the most is their rooftop seating area. Would love to come back again before the weather starts getting cold.

Delightful small restaurant tucked away in a former greenhouse. Exceptionally fine selection of meal choices that were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent- cheerful, helpful and always with a smile. Easily accessed via bus or train, just a short walk from bus stop or T station.

Wow! The chicken satimbocca was amazing. Loved the cobbler too. Great music, solid service, and the place is clean but still has character. Its pricy, but welcome to.cambridge...

Daedalus is our favorite restaurant in Cambridge! Every dish on the menu is impeccably crafted with fresh local ingredients. It’s hard to choose what to order because everything we’ve had is amazing. (Now I just ask bartender Brian to pick for me!) The service is top-notch. We brought friends last weekend (party of 6) and they were blown away by the food and the friendly, attentive service. I’ve even reserved the upstairs and/or roof deck for parties of 30-50 people. The roof deck is stunning with beautiful flower boxes and a gorgeous view. You can not go wrong with Daedalus!

Reliable solid option. Good gluten free options. Great rooftop patio. Reasonable prices (for Cambridge).

My favorite restaurant and best rooftop in Harvard Square. Haven’t had anything on the menu that I didn’t like.

We have started to frequent this spot close to our home with our 2 year old who always asks for chocolate milk and toys and they always are super sweet to him! We love the vibes and food. Lawrence is amazing and connected over my husband being Irish and us getting married in Ireland last year 😄love the story of this place

This place was such a diamond find, I didn’t know it existed til some friends suggested it and mentioned it had a rooftop! Such a cute and cozy place, and the outdoor rooftop seating is very intimate and cute. Didn’t take reservations but there was enough space when we came at 6 pm for dinner and drinks. We had lots of yummy cocktails, some flat breads to start as appetizers (so delish!) and then the dinner menu was so good. We all got a variety of dishes to try - and everyone was happy with their meals! The food came out really fast, as did the drinks; and service was really good. They also have a lot of space indoors, downstairs bar and and upstairs inside seating area with lots of space. The dessert lava cake and tiramisu were also super tasty, recommend trying!

Great atmosphere, food was delicious. The calamari and Brussels sprouts were both good appetizers. The scallops were fantastic and the steak frites was quite good. The lava cake was a perfect end to the meal!

Daedalus is a real hidden jewel right next to Harvard Sq. Food is delicious, so many drinks and cocktails to choose from. And the service is excellent. Great atmosphere.

The terrace was amazing, it had a lovely vibe and a good view. Joe, our waiter, was extremely friendly and professional. One of the best service I’ve had in Boston.

Nice place with a cute lil rooftop bar. Needs prior reservation especially for the rooftop setting. Went here for drinks and dessert. They have some really nice drinks that taste amazing. We were told the menu also changes everyday depending upon ingredients in the kitchen. The only thing I wish is the drinks were more alcoholic than juicy, since no drinks are below 14$. We also had the flat bread for appetizer which was good. Loved their Tiramisu. Our server was really friendly who made the experience even better. Would definitely go again and try out their dinner menu. Seemed really great with a good variety.

Great happy hour spot. There are two levels with the second accessed by stairs. Most of the tables are high top with high chairs or booths. The staff is patient. There is a decent and reasonable for Cambridge priced cocktail list. The fried calamari and flatbread were very good and easy to share. The beef skewers came with a salad. The menu is available by QR code. It was fairly easy to make a reservation. I would come back here.

Everything was great, the food, the drinks, the rooftop view. The only thing to be wary of is the price. The salmon burger and salmon tacos were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Definitely get a salmon dish if you plan on going here!

I loved this place. It is very big and clean. The food is not amazing, but it tastes good anyhow. The service is top notch. 4/5.

A nice, quiet restaurant for lunch. The small number of diners made it possible to enjoy a conversation with colleagues without the cacophony too typical of other places. The grilled chicken and salad was well-balanced in flavors.

We had a lovely meal with friends there. They have an outdoor deck on the second floor which was very nice! Friendly service.

Cool rooftop space in the summer with a quirky indoor bar, nice decent beer list!

Good food, nice rooftop in a historic neighborhood. Steak tips, pear salad were all excellent. Would've easily been a 5-star visit except the hostess who seated us was really unwelcoming and our waiter spent most of his time chatting with another table (while holding our drinks order). Not sure how it goes for others - might have just been unlucky 🤷

Very nice restaurant to use the terrace on a sunny day. It was more expensive than other places around the area that are also fine dining and the plates were ‘just ok’. We had the Colli flower, risotto and steak frites.

Rooftop is great! Service was slow, there just for drinks so cannot comment on the food. Wine by the glass was poor quality, the cocktails were good.

S

Nice place. I wanted to eat on the rooftop deck but it was too cold, so didn't get to experience it. Service was nice, and it had a relaxed and comfortable vibe. Some of the food was really good (street corn salad), and some was unremarkable (scallops with mashed potatoes and charred broccolini).

We came on a weeknight and it was pretty lively. I really liked the bruschetta — generous amounts of topping and the flavours went well together. The mushroom risotto was great but I was disappointed by the spring gnocchi. Service wasn’t the best that I’ve received

There's a nice roof deck at this place, and the food was flavorful but overpriced. I had the octopus and my partner had the risotto. The octopus was a little overdone, but still tasty. The service was rather lacking - we waited over 40 minutes for our food. Multiple tables that were seated after us got their food before us. When we asked about it, it came out a couple minutes later, which made me think that they'd forgotten about it. Also, after we asked for the check, it took our server over twenty minutes to come back and run our card. I don't think I'll be coming back here, but the vibe and the food were its redeeming qualities.

Place and concept really are lovely. On non weekend nights there's isn't a bartender capable of making proper drinks. The menu is pretty standard, too standard for the price point and area, pub next door is more affordable and tasty... This is not meant to be a negative review but rather constructive. This spot has a lot of potential and it isn't being exploited to it's best. Other than that staff and ambiance are great, it just seems to be aiming for a standard that it isn't quite meeting by far at all. Hope to see this place growing someday!

I had high hopes for Daedalus, given its reputation as a Harvard Square gastropub, but it was a major letdown. Overrated doesn’t even begin to cover it. We waited 40 minutes for our food, which is unacceptable for a place charging premium prices. The menu items—felt wildly overpriced for what amounted to average pub fare that didn’t impress in taste or presentation. The service was below average at best. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and there was no sense of urgency to make up for the long wait. To top it off, there’s no printed menu, which is just inconvenient and frankly pretentious. Forcing customers to rely on their phones or verbal recitations is a cheap move that kills the dining experience.

Visited this restaurant at 23July. Ordered entree at 7pm, waiter here forgot my order after 30mins and keyed in my order again. In the end, I finally had my food after 1hour and half. Their service was just extremely bad, waiter and managers are rude. Please don't visit here. Personally I found them racist, I was been mistreated. Please Do Not Visit.

My wife and I are on parental leave, and have enjoyed taking our sleeping newborn with us for day/early evening walks. On those walks, we often pop into a local spot for coffee or drinks. We decided to try Daedalus tonight. Immediately upon entering with our stroller, the hostess gave us a glaring sign of disapproval. We inquired about sitting at one of the available high top tables in the bar room. We received a very unclear response and had to reconfirm if that was okay. While she she said yes, it was clear to us that we were not welcome at this establishment with a baby and stroller. There was even an air of hostility when we shared that we were only coming in for drinks, despite us pointing out a table within the bar room. The bar was not crowded, and we were more than willing to fold up our stroller to reduce our clutter. Unfortunately, the tone and negative interaction with the hostess was all we needed to confirm we were not welcomed there. We decided to promptly leave. Thankfully, Sea Hag, a bar a few feet further down from Daedalus, has a much more welcoming vibe and friendliness towards little ones.

We waited over an hour for our food. Even though the place was half empty. The pastas were cold but risotto warm, they didn’t time the food… they apologised for the delay, but nothing else, it was difficult to catch the waiter, maybe because they knew that it wasn’t good… Oh, and we ordered ice cream for the kids another 20-25 minutes… not that we wanted more, but we promised the kids desserts. So disappointing! Not a place I would ever recommend! And if the place ask what they the could do - I’ll tell you: - Letting the guests know that they are busy and therefore be delays - Offer some bread or cold plate, because water and drinks is not enough for over an hour with kids (under 5 year old). - Prioritize the kids meals. - don’t automatically add the tips.
