The cookhouse In Capitola, Ca is our number one breakfast joint that’s opened at 7:30 AM. Come here if you want a yummy breakfast that’s consistently yummy!

Wife and I went to the cook house last Sunday 12/8/24 and had great experience there, As we walked in we were greeted by the staff and seated at the bar right away. They had our drinks to us within minutes of sitting down. The owner/waitress came over and took our order very quickly. We were impressed with her, She had a packed house and still was smiling and talking to everyone there. She knows 90% off the customers walking through the door and made it feel like I was apart of a Cheers episode. Now when the food came out it was so yummy. My wife and I are now gonna choose this establishment over anything else in town. Total family vide here. Thank you Cook House

A quaint homebrew diner that you rarely find these days. Fantastic breakfast food and comfort food options. I was introduced decades ago and have been kept coming back ever since. I take my family and children there with me. They have fun coloring activities for my kids and even some kid themed food offerings.

If you are looking for a home cooked meal, without being at home, this is your place. Staff is very friendly, and attentive. It is the real definition of "down home diner". Real family vibe, with real local conversations.

I typically don’t like to eat breakfast out as I prefer to make my own, but I tried this as I promised I’d take my wife to breakfast. The food is delicious!!! Thick, crispy bacon, delicious hash browns. Huge portions just like eating at grandmas table. Would highly recommend! This is a breakfast joint I’d gladly repeat over and over.

Classic breakfast so good! Chicken fried steak is amazing.

I've walked by this place for a while and finally decided to go for breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. People chatting and the staff catching up with regulars. Our food was exactly what we were wanting and we will definitely be back!

Food was really good. Good size portions. Staff could have been more attentive but friendly. Fairly small place but seemed like a local place. Took almost an hour to sit due to being a smaller location. Kitchen could be cleaned up a bit but overall I think I'd return if in the area.

Omg so hilarious cause the man sitting reading was seriously there doing the same thing when I went lol. This place has a down home vibe similar to breakfast at grandma's house on a Sunday morning. They have a lot of old timers who regularly come in and I find out heartwarming.

I liked this place. The food was good the service was friendly and attentive. It's a little crowded but that gives it a home feel.

We ordered the chicken fried steak and the biscuit and gravy specials. Both were delicious. Service was good and our server was super friendly. Cute little diner with a eat at counter… have a cup of coffee and watch your food being made right in front of you! We would eat here again if we were in the area.

My brother and I where there after driving 12 hours and the food is not equal to the amount you have to pay. . 30 bucks for just me and I had a simple breakfast, my brother ordered the biscuits and gravy and didn't finish it so I would not choose to eat here again . . . .But the lady's working there where very nice!

Service was good. But the food not so much. Biscuits and gravy was small portion and cold. Bacon was past crisp. Coffee was only warm. And we read reviews before going. I don't know if they are new owners since some reviews were older. The prices were higher than posted by others. Sorry to say I would not recommend nor will we return.
