I have to laugh at those of you complaining about the service. You do know your dining at a fast food road side joint right? Its not a five star chefs compliments style cuisine. And also they hire freaking teenagers who most likely never even poured their own bowl of cereal themselves let alone whip up a crazy blizzard or flury or bacon doubles. Give it a rest and calm down. This place is great! unless service doesnt smile then ill complain but mistakes are gonna happen and since nobody is perfect aint gonna sweat the cheese on my hamburger. Good job DQ staff keep it up.

I love Dairy Queen I love them mostly for their shakes you can actually get cheesecake chunks in a shake just ask for they'll make it and yes they are super thick they make it a point of turning it upside down for you right in front of your face nothing drips out of this one because they are super thick!!!

Oreo milkshake! As for"rude customer service" as some have said sometimes its good to remember this is most of these kids first job, maybe they have concerns and stresses beyond kissing you a**. Believe it or not people that work customer service weren't born to do back flips and curtsey to you way on your high horse. Try thinking about someone besides yourself, it may be a shock but the earth and sun do not revolve around you. Dairy queen is awesome and ive never had a employee give me attitude maybe because I treat people with respect and a smile. I doubt the employees are as rude as your comment. So some self reflection and no the customer is not always right in fact they're usually painfully annoying and dead wrong.

This is a Dairy Queen. The food and frozen treats taste like every other Dairy Queen. If you have never been to a Dairy Queen it is essentially the same thing as Foster Freeze. If you have not been to either of those they are like a Burger King that specializes in dessert a bit more. A hint...whatever size dessert you want, get one size smaller, cuz this stuff is heavy and you will want to take a nap after you eat it.

This is my kid's favorite soft serve ice cream and I love the 2 items for $4 Super Snack deal. For $4 I get the strawberry sundae along with a second Super Snack item... Sweet! But if I just buy the strawberry sundae by itself it is over $5... Ouch!

Stopped in around 11:30 on a Sunday for chicken tenders and a blizzard, drive-thru was quick and super cheerful. Good experience. It's fast food not a 5-star restaurant but it's solid for fast food quality. The Texas Toast seemed to be just a piece of not particularly toasted unbuttered regular bread, which is weird but seems to be standard for DQ so no shade on this particular establishment but also why.

Super slow for a Sunday evening. I actually saw three employees in the drive up area and two cars were in front of me. One of the guys that works there is really rude and abrupt. My daughters Blizzard was melting and dripping down the sides when he handed it to me with no napkins. Twice.

Not a bad place, it's fast food, but fairly good fast food. Of course, everything has too much sugar and or too much salt, but that true for all these sorts of places. The workers are nice, the restaurant is clean, they have a drive-in, they are in a frilly convenient place to a lot of other stores, and in direct line between the freeway and Capitola Beach.

Was asked to wait 2 minutes at drive thru. 4 minutes later I asked if anyone was there. Young woman came back quickly with a snapped answer of " I need 2 minutes! ". Not very customer friendly. I parked and walked inside where greeting was much nicer by different young woman.

The drive-through person was a little snappy- like most teenagers. They should make the $6 meal deals avail all the time, not just until 4pm. Decent food. Good portions.

It was hot. I get it. That's no reason for register people to be rude. The soft serve cones we ordered were running down the sides of the cone when they were handed to us and we literally had to throw them away before we could finish they were so messy. This was all under frowns and scowls from the female employee at the register. We aren't going back.

Its a far cry from the way I remember dq it was expensive and hard onion rings and chicken strips and they forgot my dripping sauces wich I hadn't noticed till I got home luckily I had gone back in and bought 4 extras at 65 cents each to make sure there was enough. Plus both them and myself almost forgot to get my 40 dollar ice cream cake that I prepaid for and left in their freezer till after the order was ready . So food not that great that day but the i.c. cake was great

UPDATE: this DQ is under new management and things seem to move much better. Upgraded from 2 star to 3. Ridiculously slow drive thru. Plenty of time to contemplate your bad choice about coming here. They now also lock the doors in the evening to force you through the drive-thru rather than walk-in.

This Dairy Queen has been our neighborhood go-to for 20+ years for our favorites like twist cones (chocolate and vanilla swirled cones). I ordered a child sized cone, what I’ve always ordered, it’s just enough for me. Told child size is no longer available and there’s no chocolate, the machine is broken and has been for months. Ok, a small vanilla it is. $3+ for a small vanilla cone that looks more like a child size. Seriously?! This place has sadly gone downhill fast. I will not be back.

They employees were great. The blizzards were yummy. Food is ok.. Would have given 5 stars if my coupon was honored. I was told they cant take number coupons and I got the app just for this coupon. All the Coupons were number based so you really need to train employees how to accept you're own coupons.

The drive-thru can also be very slow at times, most likely because they are short-staffed. We like to go there for the ice cream, but it can often be a frustrating experience.

Below average for a DQ but the food quality was on par. Why below average? Staff seemed young and inattentive (overflowing/spilled ice cream, fumbling around, etc.). It was pushing 95 degrees outside and the AC was barely working. We stayed inside to eat the ice cream but decided to leave to get to a colder place half way through.

I love DQ, but this one is consistently horrible. Incorrect orders, closing early, long waits, melted blizzards, cold/stale chicken strips/fries, or missing sauces. I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt several times, but I think I’m done going here.

I've been going here for years and the service has just been up and down. Today I went in when there was literally only one person waiting and no one in line. There was a drive thru line. I watched 4 employees just walk back and forth for several minutes making ice cream never once acknowledging my presence. Just to be clear they didn't have to immediately help me just acknowledge my presence. Feeling like I don't exist just sucks and I've just stopped shopping places that feel they can't make effort to acknowledge their customers. I'm done going here.

This place always has mediocre service. Ordered a pineapple shake, was really a vanilla shake with possibly a 1/3 tsp pineapple in it. Totally disappointed. In the past, they have made errors on 4 of my 5 orders. Nice to have an ice cream shop in the area, but make sure to check your order before leaving.

Dairy Queen: your source for tepid, limp fries. The name and brand are about frozen desserts, which they do well, where they fall down is on the hot food. No vegetarian burger options any more and it feels like the menu in general is just behind the times. As an update, despite my better judgment I decide to see if my experience was a fluke so I went back. In fairness this time the fries were quite hot and mostly somewhat good for texture, unfortunately they also just weren't very good. It tasted like the oil might have 'gone off' just ever so slightly.

- Drive thru mic is busted (barely functional) - They didn't have the soda I wanted (yet is displayed on menu board) - They have incorrectly priced items on menu board (charged me more than what was displayed)... When I pulled to the window, I told them the price on the menu board is considerably lower than what they were charging me, yet they wouldn't drop the price down to what they have advertised. It felt like I got scammed, baited and switched... I get it's only a few dollars, but still - not chill. Only thing saving this from a 1 star review was the chill window worker (not the manager who wouldn't drop down to the advertised price). Place has gone downhill.

We normally love the DQ, but today the drinks were almost 90% ice, very little beverage, and the fries had a bad oil flavor - almost fishy. Please change your oil more frequently - it was yucky - we threw them away.

I’ve tried being patient and understanding but this is ridiculous. This is the THIRD time an order was cold, missing items and over FIFTY DOLLARS. I’m leaving a review because I called to sort it out and was hung up on Before I could explain the problem. So I called back, twice more, and got a recording saying the memory was full, each time. Then I called once more and the same woman answered but she wouldn’t even listen. She said they were busy and not taking calls and then hung up on me again. I’ve overlooked the other two incidents, thinking they might’ve been flukes because we usually drive through but no... this is consistently BAD SERVICE. I’m out fifty buck and still have to drive to pick up something for my daughter when everything is closed on a Sunday night because they didn’t include food I PAID for.

I was overcharged for my meal and while the employees acknowledged the error on menu, they would not issue a refund. The gentleman working the register was extremely apologetic but told me he was instructed by management/own to not issue refunds despite the ongoing errors.

They tipped themselves 9 dollars at the drive through... my receipt says one amount, amount deducted from bank account is more... glad I checked!!! Will be speaking to a manager!!! (Name of person is also on my receipt) I wouldn't mind a buck or two, but that is at my discretion...from an unhappy stay at home parent of four!!!

Posted store hours are not correct. Drove 45 minutes one evening only to arrive at 9:58 pm and have the working employee at the time answer the drive thru at 10:01 just to tell us they were closed - and he seemed angry we were there. Also there were two cars behind us as well! The store times mentioned they are open until 11:00 pm (apparently only the drive-thru closes at 10:00). Regardless the employee refused to serve us.

Ordered an 8" Oreo Blizzard cake on line, price stated $38.99. When I went to pick it up at the Capitola location, the employee opened the freezer, handed me a cake that clearly was labeled $23.99. I said I paid $38.99 on line and its $15.00 difference in price and the employee said "that's the way it is" and just walked away. If I had just walked in, I could have gotten a 10" cake for $2.00 more. DON'T order anything on line, they can charge whatever they want.

Totally disappointed! We bought 39.20 of food on the 12th at 9:15 to be ready at 9:45. When we got there they said sorry but it's too late, there's a computer glitch, go onto the website to get a refund. No such luck. We've called 4 times, no answer, left a message each time and never a return call. I'm so upset! This is so messed up!

@DairyQueen Don't go if you don't want to be disrespected by the rude employee that i guess is the manager. Last Saturday 06/18/22 i went at 9:30 and it was just the drive thru opened. I was in line waiting. I made it to the speaker to order at 9:53 and the dude told me "we just took our last order, come back tomorrow!" There was just me an another car. I drove to the window, he was there and i honk the horn. I told him, "next to your face its the sign that says you close at 10. I've been waiting in line for over 20 mins! Officially you still opened" he said "we have the policy to not take orders after 9:50" me: "where it says that! Not ourside and the sign next to your face sais 10pm" He made a nasty face and slammed the window on my face. Seriously to the owner or the dairy queen organization. If you hire rude employees that wants to be off at 10pm change the hours and close 9:30. So far! I'M NOT GOING BACK TO WAIT OVER 20 MINS TO BE DISRESPECTED! #Capitola #CA

Waited quite a long time in the drive threw not sure why the line was taking so long. When we got to the speaker box they told us to wait a minute. 5 more minutes they finally asked if we had ordered yet. We order 2 med royal strawberry cheese cake blizzards. It took forever for them to make them, not sure why since inside was clear of people. We looked in the window like what's taking so long and 3 boys were laughing and joking.then 1 came to window with our blizzards when asked to turn them upside down they refused. They were put in a tray one was dripping down the sides and one fell off into my lap because they didnt securely put in tray mind you wie ddnt ask for a tray. A bunch of balled up napkins on the tray. Stale cheesecake and the strawberries were just on top while bottom was just ice cream. Will never go there again and itcost$13 so not worth it. I would not have those guys working at my resteraunt. They didnt care at all you could tell.Id really like to give it 0 stars but it won't let me

Nowhere online does it tell you the 6$ meal is only 11am to 4pm, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but everywhere I looked it says it's an all day deal... I asked and was told "it's been a thing for a year" but I couldn't find other locations that limit the time for it? They also left a whole meal off our order and when we asked if it was everything the guy just closed the window on us. I tried to keep everyone being nice in return cause I'm not the one to start things or chew people out for mistakes but it was a really disappointing experience, we just got food at a different place to make up for the loss.

Cashier confused several orders. Couldn't understand the computer system to order food. Another employee dropped blizzard cups, picked them up and still used them. Continuously messed up my order as I was reading the receipt to them. Argued with me about what was on my receipt. No bathroom at all!

I just went to DQ and drove back to my house 3 times. I guess the cooks don’t know that the number 5 comes with lettuce, tomato, and onions. They kept giving me a regular cheeseburger. The 3rd time I showed up to get the right burger the manager had the nerve to say she was going to give me money off for the burger. I PAID FOR THE BURGER AND SHOWED UP 3 times FOR YOU TO GET IT RIGHT. I’m not paying for the burger I paid for already!! I’m done with this DQ. I’ll just go to Burger King from now on.

Without a doubt, the worst service I have ever received. I went in at 9 and was given attitude for trying to dine in, saying the lobby is closed. Went through the drive through at 930 and was told kitchen was closed. The white kid with blonde hair clearly did not want to help anyone but himself to leaving early. 4/6/22

Wasnt a happy welcoming place like on the tv commercial. It was highly disappointing considering where its located. Food was cold. Bacon was like rubber. French fries werent hot and fresh. The current staff doesnt seem to understand how they get paid. They do not understand without comeback repeat guest. They checks are gonna get smaller. Less customers means less money coming in. So without amazing service hot fresh food. Theres no way id pay money for anything at this dq. Disappointing i want a refund!!!! The salt and pepper and the ice in the soda were awesome btw.........

The employees didn't know what they were doing, and there were at least five health code violations in plain sight. On top of all of that they repetitively messed up on our order after four times of requesting a chocolate Sunday and receiving strawberry.

I walked with my kids and dogs to get a treat for my kids. Before I even enter the restaurant a rude man was yelling at me to read the sign that he thought said drive through only but the only part was covered up that said fan food. So they need to figure it out. I know we are in a scary time but begin rude to each other won't make things better.

There's an angry pubescent blonde boy/girl running the lobby register. After ignoring us in the hopes that we'd leave (like most of his family probably has) he rolled his eyes and took our order. Dairy Queen, do yourselves a favor and get staff that wants to work. The food is barely edible and your staff hates life. I give it a year before your business closes.

Update: The manager called and offered us a $50 Visa card which did pay for our food, but he didn't offer us any reason why it happened. He said a special order burger made minutes before closing would have been cooked the same was as a regular burger, but I just don't believe that. Later my daughter did say hey burger did taste different, but she didn't say anything because we don't usually have DQ burgers and she just thought that was normal. She knows now to tell me when a burger tastes different. Original: We ordered 3 ketchup only cheeseburgers on 4/6/22 at about 9:50pm. We also ordered 3 regular cheeseburgers. My 2 children that ate the special order ketchup only got food poisoning and have been throwing up all day today and been in horrible pain. My 2 other children that ate the regular order cheeseburgers have been fine. We are on vacation and tried to spend the day at Monterey Bay Aquarium and had to cut the day short because of this. We are now in Santa Clara hoping they can even go on any rides tomorrow at Great America. Please let me know what can be done about this to compensate us for our sick kids and ruined vacation. I tried calling but just get a busy tone.

I drove from salinas to enjoy a meal with my son. Manager was rude and really bad customer service. Food was ok. I have a kidney disease and manager didn’t let me use the restroom he told me it was closed you can go across the street. 😒 never going back.

Just spent the day at the beach and then decided to go to dairy Queen for dessert. It has a drive through but we want to use the restroom so decide to park and go inside. We walk up to the door only to find all the doors are locked during business hours. The only way to order is to go into the long drive through line. I hope there isn't a problem with the order 🙄😒

Food was super over priced! A meal for two comes out to around $60. The service was pretty quick, but no amount if customer service can back up these prices.

This DQ is always understaffed and takes forever to get an ice cream. Their prices are very high for bad food. The Texas toast I got was literally just warmed up wonder bread. I have stopped going because I don’t have 45 minutes to spare for just a dessert. And I love that Dairy Queen’s solution to all of these bad reviews on here is to say “sorry about your bad experience, we hope you give us another try” but it doesn’t seem like they are actually doing anything about it. The old DQ quality is very missed!

New indoor menu has no prices. Only list hamburgers with 2 and 3 patties, making you think they no longer offer single patty burgers . Extremely expensive for fast food. Only good is ice cream desserts

Right now the drive thru is the only thing open, and they told me they were going to close it for 20 minutes to take a break. So I left for 25 minutes I came back and they told me that they are close for other 15 minutes and then they just left me talking and left. What a bad service, I drive all the way there just to buy an ice cream and waste almost 45 minutes waiting for it. Terrible. Not going back. Oh and obviously didn't get my ice cream cause your employees are just chilling inside the store closing the drive thru as long as they want to.

Employees are always rude and disrespectful. They take forever to take your order at the drive thru. The last time my friends and I ordered blizzards, they were basically soup. Not frozen at all! Employees are always snappy and sound tired.

The people who took my order were very rude and gave me attitude. They don't have chocolate ice cream and charge extra to add in the chocolate syurp. And the food is always messy. I highly think they could use some new inploies , and nice people to take our orders. Just go somewhere else its not worth it!

The reason I go there is for the food but the service has been getting worse and worse. Maybe the drive thru person was training but where was the trainer? Anyway, no dairy queen greeting. A couple of "can you wait a moment?" and after maybe a 10 minute wait. I reduced my order to a quick salad. I gave him the first choice on the menu and he asked what type of salad did i want. He mispronounced the first choice. (Roteserie chicken chunks)Then he paused for a very long time and says "my bad" eventually a friendly knowledgeable voice took over my request. Unfortunately it didn't last that long. that voice was dropping f bombs about an experience she just had. Eventually my original server hands me my salad in a strange sarcastical way. And wonders why im still waiting. Well my drink? Anyway i could've easily forgiven the service but after arriving back to my lunch i opened my bag to find my salad without utensils and napkins. There's a common sense perspective about this that really should be looked at it. If not please imagine using your fingers to eat a salad without a napkin.

I ordered a blizzard and the bottom half was plain vanilla ice cream. I asked Elijah to re-stir it and add more toppings and he said he can only re-stir it, but cannot add more toppings. It was disappointing. Further, we had about 10 people with us, the place was empty, and found that the entire high top area had dirty tables. The bathrooms were also disgusting! The women's bathroom had a clogged toilet and my husband said the men's bathroom was one of the worst he has seen. This was an overall bad experience.

Absolutely horrible service. They had a $7 meal deal posted in the windows, and at both the drive-thru and in-person ordering menus. This $7 meal deal said nothing about any exclusions. We were informed when we ordered them, that they would not honor that meal deal after 4:00 p.m.. . I inform them that a posted sign meant they had to honor a price, to which he asked his manager, and the manager said no. This manager was too busy sitting in the corner chatting with his buddies to even come over and assist. I have pictures of these signs, and they said and absolutely nothing about any time frame. We left without eating at the restaurant after the condescending workers were laughing about us wanting something they wouldn't sell us.

I’m deeply disappointed with my recent visit to this Dairy Queen. The behavior of the staff was not only disrespectful but also alarmingly unprofessional. I experienced what I can only describe as racially biased treatment. From the moment I entered, it was clear that I was being singled out and treated differently because of my appearance. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any establishment, especially one that should be welcoming to all. I sincerely hope that the management takes immediate action to address this issue, ensuring that all customers receive the respect and fair treatment they deserve.

I recently had a terrible experience at Dairy Queen. From the moment I walked in, the service was awful. The staff was incredibly rude and seemed uninterested in helping customers. The restaurant was dirty, with trash overflowing from bins and tables that hadn't been cleaned in ages. When I finally received my order, it was completely wrong. The food was cold, soggy, and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. To top it off, the ice cream was melted and runny. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Dairy Queen, and I will not be returning. Avoid this place at all costs!

Manager was drilling the young ppl working there because of a mistake that was made at drive threw. All the workers were humble and polite , She should freshen up on How to handle people and not blow up on them in front on customers .

Pretty bad service at the window, paid for extra fudge, didn't get it. And our blizzards were served right side up, when they are supposed to be served upside down or they are free. The guy said "oh they have whip cream..." Never again..

Came 40 minutes before they closed, the workers purposely ignored me and mocked the older gentleman behind me because they closed out their sever bank at 9(it’s posted everywhere that is closes at 10) . Don’t waste your time or gas driving over here. I even tried to come last night but the worker yelled at everyone in the drive through and said they were understaffed…. When it happens two nights in a row you know that it’s just bad customer service…. I work in the restaurant industry so I am aware when someone is just too lazy to do their job. I live here, I have never been through the drive-through quickly even with only one car ahead of me. Staff have never been friendly or kind. They seem to just want to be done with their shift and are on their own schedule. Blizzards seem to be the standard blizzards but the slushy I just got had the top quarter with chunky ice and then the rest was just liquid. I should’ve given it back but My daughter was so excited to get it, she took a sip and said no thank you.

I’m giving this Dairy Queen one star because it’s easily the most expensive one I’ve ever been to, charging extra just because of the location. What really frustrates me is paying for a Blizzard with extra candy and a topping, only to get the same small amount as a regular order, a tiny pump of topping, and none of it mixed in. The first few bites have everything, then the rest is just plain ice cream. For these prices, customers should get what they’re paying for. The food itself tastes fine, but the value and effort aren’t there. Also, the “under new management” signs have been out front for months, at this point it just feels like an excuse, not an improvement.
