KFC Capitola Reviews
We arrived about 5 minutes before scheduked closing time. We were greeted and welcomed in, able to order, and were even able to use the dining room without being rushed to leave before we were ready. Food and service were great and timely. The restroom was a little gross, but not unusually bad.
Nicest staff from any fast food joint that I ever went to.
Went and got bucket meal and the $5 Mac and cheese bowl. Had a good visit and will be back again.
It's KFC so you know you are getting some good ole fashioned chicken. I love the original, always get a three piece or a box with mashed Potatoes & Gravy and Coleslaw - yummy. It's the best, just ask Erik.
The people were nice. Good food and great atmosphere.
The people that are working there are really friendly and do a great job. And the food has been way better than in the past
"Can I help you?" That's what you hear when you're at the KFC. there's a little bit of a line you're in and out fast, and you know the food is pipping hot and ready to go I haven't had an experience like you see at McDonald's when foods cold and kinda unfinished "You never know" I give five stars.
This place is awesome! The staff is so respectful and the restaurant, especially the bathrooms, are so clean. We showed up ten minutes to close and they let us place our order. Also, the workers said, sir and ma’am.” Incredible service, manners, and cleanliness. I’ll be back!
After a long drive, we got to this kfc and they didn’t disappoint. Great service and the place was very tidy. Also lots of parking and the washroom was on point. Overall, 5 out of 5
Everyone likes fried chicken every once in a while . This KFC does a good job with service , the restaurant is always clean , and the chicken has always been fresh and HOT !!!
The young gentleman who runs the register in the on Fridays is an absolute gem. So helpful and attentive. Never had an issue with an order here
The price has tripled food and service is great but not for what you get $8.99 for three wings two sides no drink I'm sure you get a bucket for $20 but its legs and thighs
Friendly staff, & used coupon.
We had a wonderful chicken pot pie & 3 pc combo meal, that was delicious. As an added treat the new manager carried our tray to the table for us & after we finished, got us a bag for our leftovers to take home for later. Truly a treat.
I'm not sure why this location's food is so good. The chicken is the juiciest of any KFC and the service is great. Debora was super friendly and helped people at their tables even when they weren't feeling well.
I did a takout of some "I can't stand the pandemic any more chicken" at 9:00pm at night. I was thinking I would avoid the crowds. I was wrong. KFC was still busy. The staff was tired but still upbeat and working hard. The wait for my food was as expected for the crowds also wanting for there chicken. The chicken and sides were fresh and tasty. A pleasant experience.
Nice that they still are open with a AW Root Beer also. We love the old ladies behind the counter calling out numbers all day when the food is ready. Just like a bingo palace. They need to bring back beans to go with the chicken. Too bad they closed the KFC in Scotts Valley many years ago.
Interesting to me, is that I go to:K.F.C., once or twice a month. I've seen the same two managers, for some years...the food was enjoyable, but also came almost immediately. Wow! No wonder why I've gone all these years...and , they're friendly!
You know they must be doing something right when they have employees that have been there 20 plus years. Good food, good people. Deborah is great. Please tip her well when you visit.
I love this KFC because there's also NW outside the KFC restaurant so you can choose between either or makes up the menu and get whatever you want to order from either KFC or from A&W Root Beer pretty cool and the staff there is extremely nice they've all been working there very long time and they know me by first name amazing restaurant very highly recommended by yours truly.
This is one of the best KFC locations around. They were very fast and the food was fresh and good (I mean as fresh as KFC gets). Still wish they didn't get rid of the grilled chicken. Oh and for those wondering, yes it's A&W too, but it's mostly a KFC location.
Greatest KFC ever. The food is great and the employees are the best. Deborah and Jose among many more helpful and hospitable crew members. They each take time to brighten every customers day. The F in KFC is for Friendly here.
Ivan is very profesional and always helps me get the best delas. I just have to tell him what i want and he tells me which deal they have. Thank you so much. He has helped me before.
It had been over 27 years since I've been back to this place. I was really pleasantly surprised. I did not know that Kentucky fried chicken serves hamburgers, Cheeseburgers and all sorts of other goodies! They really are good! The place had been Re modeled, It was clean, And it was open on New Year's Day, a hard thing to find! The only bummer was the poor guy behind the counter was so depressed I felt sorry for him, He should have been sent home with pay.
Not the place for in store dining unless you have no other options. Not an especially bad dining area, just kinda depressing like most fast food joints. Take it home and gorge on delicious chicken in private, and in peace. The crew seems especially great though.. there's an older lady who really rocks front of house, and in keeping the kitchen hustling along, and a Hispanic guy who's super polite and on top of it. The food is great.. original recipe all the way, but the crispy strips are also fire. Make sure to grab some of the Colonel's hot sauce too, it's like Tabasco ought to be. 9 out of 10. It's sad that Santa Cruz chased away the westside KFC, but it's not surprising. This Capitola location is the only KFC around, so do support it.. because once it's gone, you will miss it. Oh yeah, and the Coleslaw is amazing. There's a $30 deal going on which includes a bucket of original recipe, crispy strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, biscuits, and fries. It's amazing to be able to feed a family of 4 with leftovers, for $30.. McDonald's is like $15-18 for a meal per person nowadays, and it sucks. Burger King is the same now too. Oh yeah, and, this is also an A&W, so you can get yourself a root beer float, in a sad waxed cup.. no more frosty mugs or drive up dining like back in the day on Ocean St. It's sad. No more drive up, drive through, or drive in movies anymore in Santa Cruz.
I have never seen this KFC so busy! The staff is always friendly at this location and for as busy as they were, they seemed to be keeping things together. It's not an easy time for anyone these days, especially the workers in restaurants! Thank you for being open and continuing to deliver high quality customer service- even during this time!
Good food, forgot some of my food and had to return to pick it up but that is also my fault. Thank you essential workers, they put themselves at risk so the people with money can yell at em for being told to wear a mask. Wear your masks people, go to the White House if you want to a place that is mask free . Sorry for the politics
Hot wings are back!
I miss the old juke box and being able to play music for free here. But the staff are nice and sweet, just like tea should be.
Counter clerk is interesting wen she talks to herself or other imaginary people.
It was okay, i guess, but i am from Canada, where KFC (and A&W) is a bigger thing, so i guess it's not a fair comparison, but there it is. The choices were slim (compared to what I'm used to) and the side dishes with the meals were weird, like they were trying to be Popeye's or something and failing miserably. Anyway, i think I'll stick to KFC in Canada, thanks.
This place has a working free juke box with a retro atmosphere. Small dine area, but not a bad place. I give it three stars because they mess up my order 3 out of 5 times I've been there. Friendly staff fix it right away though.
The "wings" were almost entirely made of bread and they didnt add any sauce so I had to walk back in to ask for it separately. The rest was as expected and the workers kept a friendly and professional attitude.
Not very modern not fancy. But still the same familiar experience when I was younger. Filling food, great mash potatoes/gravy and AW Root Beer. Hard working staff.
The food tasted as expected, which was lovely. However, I'd ordered a 12 pc meal and forgot to say tenders, and the checker didn't ask, and when I received my order, it was chicken legs. I asked about getting the tenders instead, and Ivan said since they'd already been made, so they wouldn't change them out which was very disappointing to me. So we had to order tenders and spend an extra $30 which was very frustrating. I am not likely to go back to that location.
KFC is definitely not like when I was a kid. The bucket of chicken is way overpriced. Missing the pies and corn on the cob. Chicken seems to be extra greasy. Side dishes not that great for the cost. I would recommend and if you are going to go to KFC, just get the bucket save money and get your own side somewhere else...
Still say KFC makes the best chicken sandwich in the biz if you get a big fresh made one. Ours today was not so big and not so fresh... Always order a classic with extra pickles, buffalo ranch on the side. They charged .50 cents for the sauce!🤣 Also this place is dirty, the bathrooms are filthy!
I absolutely love the food at KFC. It's delcious amd enjoyable. The prices however, are far too high, even for how good it is. They seriously need to come down or I can't say I'll visit again anytime soon. Also, the bathroom at this location was atrocious. Needed cleaning and the toilet needed fixing.
Does not have a drive thru. Ordered online said to park in front and someone would bring it out. No one did, I finally called and a rude employee sounded like a manager. She said no come inside I’m too busy bye. Nice customer service :/
Updating my review because my last order they failed to deliver like half of it and it was an incredibly sad way to end my incredibly sad day so I'm deducting a star. I don't recommend ever getting kfc tendies or sandos just get bone in & popcorn chickies. Also they need to bring back cornbread. They DO have it at some locations, although it is mostly seasonal in summertime. I'd be very pleased if they did that here. For sides I like the fries but not as much as wedges. Wedges made them stand out from the others. Now they're just one of the other of millions of chicken shops. And I like coleslaw. I do not like anything else. Blessed be that they gave me all my sauces butter and honey with my last order I was a happy human. They gave me lemonade instead of sweet lightning though. Biscuits are yummy. 👍 I wish they'd offer the A&W menu on delivery apps as well.
An item listed on your menu here at $5.49 , was $9.75 when I ordered it!! So I settled for ala carte 2pc w/biscuit. No butter, no honey, it was offered to the guy behind me in line. KFC ain’t what it used to be. It’s too expensive and the old lady was orderliness rude to me, but friendly with the guy behind me.
Unfortunately not very good. The chicken was overcooked and boney. I ordered thighs. The service was delightful as always. The food was not lush and juicy but dry and overcooked. I would rate my experience a 2 stars only cause the service was good.First time ever inferior chicken.
This is the first time I used this service and was very disappointed. The restaurant was not busy when I went in. I had ordered 2 meals both were supposed to include drinks. When I picked up my meals I asked where my drinks were. I had ordered an ice tea and a soda. The employee's response to me was they didn't have ice tea didn't bother to offer me a substitute. I then asked about the price I paid for two meals and was told it was the same price with or without drinks and then told me if I had a problem with it to call the company. So not only did I not receive a drink with either meal but I was treated very rudely. Very poor customer service. Rather than making a scene I just walked out. So I paid for full price for 2 full meal deals and I have never been treated so rudely. So I feel I be reimbursed for not getting what I paid for.
First KFC I’ve been to where the chicken was more dry than the biscuits.
We come here usually twice a month and staff are friendly helpful and quick. The old lady that was there today at 3:30 was very cold when I seen her dealing with other customers and rude, called me out infront all the other customers when I asked for the 9 piece special coupon price. Said very loudly it was unfair for me to get a discounted price, when everyone else has to pay full price. Will not be going back.
We ordered food at 5:15....one bucket of chicken ...8 pieces. At 6pm....45 min later...still not ready. i don't get this place. They are so slow, will not answer the phone and you never know if it will be 10 min or 45-60 min. i wish it was just more consistent. Unfortunately, it's like this at every KFC i have ever been inside.
There are no words to describe just how....terrible the food was. Absolutely, gag-inducingly awful. This was supposed to be my (adult) daughter's birthday meal - KFC mashed potatoes with gravy has been her favorite since she was a little girl, & I've ALWAYS loved their coleslaw- since I was a little girl. Chicken, biscuits, fries - from Maine to California, KFC has always been an easy choice for a 'special' meal, no matter where we've been across the country. But this time? Wow. We'd stopped in on the way home after a fun day out, ordered at the counter, waited for it, then took it home to eat. We each took one bite, & had to throw every bit of it away. (Even remembering makes me shudder- it was THAT BAD!) Not a single piece - not even a FRENCH FRY was edible. Spoiled? Refrigerator/freezer/stove not working? Left out for ages til it went bad, then served anyways? I honestly have no idea. The only thing I DO know is we won't be going back to this location. Ever. It's made me hesitant to go to any other KFC in the area, as well, because if quality standards have been allowed to plummet THIS FAR at one location, it's likely an issue at the management level. I'd rather go elsewhere than take a chance on getting completely inedible food again, or worse, food poisoning.
Lady at the counter was extremely rude. We were trying to figure out 5 peoples' orders and I get we could be loud but only 2 of us were talking to her and ordering. When I tried to ask the other ordering person if he thought we should buy someone with us an extra drink, she shoved cups at me and yelled, "here's your cup! Take it! Too many people talking!" And kept repeating that over and over until I moved away from the counter. I work in service and would never treat someone like that.
The food was horrible today, actually made me sick. I don’t know what they’ve done to the food but I’ll never go there again it wasn’t clean for one. All the tables were dirty and I haven’t been in the bathroom in probably 15 years because it was disgusting then.
Older woman cashier was very condescending. Laughed at me and lectured me that I needed to specify what kind of meal deal I wanted after I realized I was rang up for something other than what I wanted. I’ve worked as a cashier for years now— just correct it to what the customer wants, don’t lecture them on how to order it. She repeated it three times, loudly, that next time I should specify. She did something similar to the couple before me in line as well. Find a new job, lady! Customer service isn’t for you!
The KFC FREE BUCKET ON YOU FAKE PROMO online OFFER is FAKE . I ordered purchase over $15 at this LOCATION to redeem emsil offer KFC sent on my email The older Spanish lady at .the counter said they don't give FREE BUCKET CHICKEN AS ADVERTISED ON LINE at this location
Nasty attitude stricken employees. You all really wonder why so many chain fast food places are closing. Complete lack of simple service. If this trend continues you will have no customers and the store will close.
I bought the spicy chicken wings, later on that night at 3am I woke up rushing to the bathroom vomiting and with a case of the runs. I tried to call the following day to bring up this issue but no one picked up, I drove to the location and explained what happened hopping to get a refund. I was asked if I went to the doctor and also told that they make the food in batches and that I was the only one that had an issue, it sounded to me like they were trying to put the blame on me, at least thats what it sounded like to me. Not once was this person apologetic or sympathetic, having worked in both the food and customer service for over 10 years I can tell you this is not how I would have trained my employees or how I would have reacted when a customer brings up a concern. I’ve been here multiple times before but this is a first. I was told to leave my personal information and I would get a call. After dealing with this person and the attitude they had towards me I highly doubt I’ll get a call back or a refund.
