Jack's Bistro & Famous Bagels Carpinteria Reviews
We stopped in on our way out of Santa Barbara specifically for the bagels, and they did not disappoint! They were so fresh and flavorful—exactly what we were hoping for. I had one of the bagel sandwiches & it was delicious! We also couldn’t leave without grabbing a few fresh bagels and cream cheese to go. The indoor space is small, but they have outdoor tables which made for a perfect, casual spot to enjoy our breakfast. Definitely worth the stop if you’re a bagel lover!
We’ve been coming here for over 20years and they CONSISTENTLY give great tasting food!! The service and ambiance is great too. My go-to breakfast sandwich is JACK’S B-EggL sandwich. I add bacon and jalapeños for extra flavor!! Sooo delicious!!! Highly recommend to order some VERY FRESH bagels to go too!
Where else can you get such a big full breakfast for $15 in California? The jalapeño scramble was wonderfully flavorful and delicious home fries were awesome. Couldn’t finish the bagel so I took it to go. Outdoor seating is nice wide chairs and plenty of room for your dog. Service was a bit slow on a busy Saturday morning.
Great service and food. The hash had the perfect ratio of egg/meat/veggies/cheese/potato and you also get to have two pancakes served with whipped butter and syrup!!!! The service was also great
Great place for breakfast, lunch, and/or brunch. The food is tasty portions are satisfying and service good. This place is always busy, but it's worth the wait. They have a wide variety of bagel flavors and cream cheese to go along. Great for eat in, takeout or catering.
Ok. Let me say this. My first impression of this place was something like 20 employees working and nobody acknowledges you. I asked the cashier what his recommendations were for breakfast, got them and also said "food must be very good if you have this many people here and nobody says hi to a guy". The food is simple and unpretentious. Blew me away! This fare is great. Everything is fresh and made to order. This is the only bagel breakfast place I've gone to that doesn't microwave their egg for there bagel sandwich, they cook it in a salamander. So we came back again the next morning. The service is ok if your taking out, better if you dine in. When the food hits it out of the park, service can be what it is when it needs to be. Ordered a side of tomatoes and you can tell they just cut it, not some tomato that's been sliced and waiting around since Wednesday. Stop by and grab a bite.
I created my own wrap and they were wonderfully cooperative ! I wanted no meat and made substitutions! I paid for the most expensive wrap but so worth it to get what I wanted! My companions were thrilled with their pancakes, Jack’s sausage hash, huevos rancheros and a fresh peanut butter bagel! It was fresh. My only pause was that the food was not piping hot.
Beloved Carpinteria’s best and only best bagel restaurant. Freshly served bagels with quality ingredients is the best way to start your day here at Carpinteria. Customer service is indeed phenomenal. The protein bagel is my favorite, with the ham as a substitute it with double protein; recommended for those macho men who need their protein intake in the morning. I encourage anyone who comes across this place without a doubt to give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
My breakfast here was AMAZING. The portions were perfect and everything tasted SO GOOD. I got the yogurt with granola and fruit and the cheese bagel with plain cream cheese. It was perfect!! My husband also loved his breakfast- the 222 and he added hash browns to it. We loved it!!
My wife had the Lox. I have the Blackstone Benedict. Feeling and very tasty! All the staff was terrific. They even brought a bowl of water for our dog. Definitely a place we will return to when we get back to Carpinteria again. There was no one inside due to covid-19 spacing.
Delicious and dog-friendly bagel spot right off of Carpinteria’s main street. The prices were good and the service was excellent. Plus it’s just blocks from the ocean, so it’s perfect for grabbing a quick brunch before heading to the beach.
Excellent menu choices and there bagels are amazing. Chicken panini is amazing. Prices are excellent. The staff was quick and friendly.

Heard that the food here was delicious so l came down from summer land to see, was not disappointed! Delicious bagels and a great variety of them. Server was so sweet! 😊 (Stephanie) Greeted us great and got our order fast, even thought it was busy. But i can say the seats were a bit weird other than that a great experience, highly recommended!
Great place for breakfast or lunch. They specialize in bagels, they are the best. Indoor and outdoor seating. Always busy, the locals seem to love it.

Cozy breakfast spot with friendly staff who know their regulars (they even pulled the blinds down when I asked — nice attention to detail). Indoor and outdoor seating both feel welcoming. Our table had the pumpernickel veggie bagel sandwich, a veggie scramble with toast and jam, and a ham-and-eggs scramble with pancakes. The bagel had great chew, though it would’ve been even better with cream cheese or home fries. The veggie scramble came loaded with veggies and a side of salsa I wish had been on every plate. My scramble was hearty, but the pancakes were the star — fluffy, golden, and served with butter and syrup. Biggest standout overall? The breakfast potatoes — crisp, cheesy, and addictive. Solid spot for a hearty breakfast. 4/5 stars
Been to Jack's Famous Bagels a couple of times over the years while visiting Carpinteria. Staff was busy and some orders took longer than others. Very popular location in Carp and has been for years even in middle school and high school when I attended CMS/CHS.
Local favorite for bagels and other baked goods & breakfast-style food. Open for breakfast and lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. This place is often very crowded so be prepared to wait or flexible as to whether you sit inside or outside. Coffee, tea, juice as well as beer & wine. Cash & credit cards accepted. Their bagel sandwiches are delicious! The Montecito is a personal favorite, but any of them are memorable. A great start before walking down to Carpinteria Beach for an amazing day!
Their food is good. Their service is on a different level "Wow", all the staff is just awesome but I want to particularly recognize Adrian and Lupita, guys you rock!! your a high caliber service keep it up will definitely come back soon oh and your flavor cream (walnut) cheese is da bomb...

The place needs to be steam cleaned. The table we sat at was so sticky from years of use the condiment caddy was stuck to the table along with our napkins, we asked for a new table there were spider webs, bugs, and looked like petrified bacon on top of the booth and couldn't bring myself to use the hot sauce they were unappealing.

Called ahead and still made me wait in the long line just to pay. I asked if I could and they said no understandable, yes but then they allowed another customer to pay their tab with apple pay. Also the workers take an order than go make that order…why not just take all the orders/payments then prep all of them at once in order like a normal restaurant 🤨

Why did you make my bagel first and let it sit for 12 minutes while you made the other item in my order? Cold bagel, barely cream cheese, took way too long and everyone in there came and went while we waited for 2 bagels and a side of sausage. Very disappointed.
