My first at a Bistro. If you love Wine, this is it. French cuisine, not what I expected. Food was served elegantly, but flavor could of been added. The whole atmosphere was astounding. Very comfortable, clean and amazing art. Service is very curtious, caring, quick, and considerate.even without Reservation, we recieved amazing service. Thank you. I would recommend a visit for a relaxing gathering.

Met friends for dinner and it was warm enough to sit outside. Truly a lovely experience. Staff was attentive and the food & drinks were well prepared. Even the tapas portions I get were generous.

Great experience for take out during Triangle Vegan Restaurant Week. The service was courteous and friendly. Check their website for current menu. I enjoyed everything I ordered.

We recently went to Moasic for dinner. What a treat. Our food was excellent small plates. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were big fans of tgeir previous restaurant but are delighted with the change. The owner was busy helping to serve but took the time to stop and speak to us. Can’t wait to go back and bring friends.

We were fans of Provence for years, so we're interested to see what their reincarnation would be like. In one word, FANTASTIC. We shared several small plates, all we're delish, but the roasted carrots and parsnips were amazing. Super excited for the pattiserie when it comes.

I’ve eaten here 3x and am delighted over and over again!!! The food is consistently creative and delicious. Staff are personable and welcoming. 10/10 recommend for date nights, large groups, and everything in between.

The lemon crème brûlée was dynamite! Enjoyed El, the bartender, and all of his cocktails. He’s a master at his craft. Can’t wait to try their donuts for breakfast! My new favorite spot in Carrboro.

Cozy spot with good grub and amazing drinks. The people who work here are awesome. New, later business hours (open until 11p) are very much appreciated 👌🏼

I loved the old Provence, but the new Mosaic is even better! Great food and service! I particularly liked the escargot.

I had the opportunity to meet both the owner and manager tonight and found them both charming. Every dish that was served to the other customers was so enticing that there is no doubt I will find my way back there. Everything I had was yummy but I would randomly go there just to get their fries with garlic aioli for dipping...Off the rails!

We were off to a rough start and even a little disappointed that it's not traditional tapas. Our waitress Evie to the rescue. She suggested we think of it as family style. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the experience. A big thank you to Evie.

Even in a foodie town, Mosaic holds its own. Atmosphere is cozy and pleasant; staff are genuine and friendly; food is well-prepared using good, fresh ingredients. Expect simple, well-prepared, high-quality dishes rather than experimental, cutting-edge cuisine.

Great little place! Went tonight and tried several different small plates: tomato pie, fries, and watermelon salad. All were delicious, especially the tomato pie. My boyfriend also had the jerk chicken and really liked it. Washed it down with some sparkling rose. Service was excellent and the food came out promptly. Lots of nice outdoor seating. Happy to have a delicious new option in town - especially a vegetarian-friendly one!

We really enjoyed the format at Mosaic. The rebuilt and varied menu - with the ability to craft a meal of small plates to share - was great. I enjoyed the oyster mushroom salad and scallops - both were excellent. If you prefer your own entrée, they also provide large plates. The wine selection is excellent, and the outdoor patio was a lovely place to spend a summer evening. The updated dessert selections were a pleasant surprise, with large servings that can be easily shared. It is great to have Baptist and the team back!

I had dinner there and it was fabulous! The French onion soup is one of the best I have ever eaten! And the profiteroles? Divine! Baptiste is a very skilled chef. The wait staff are very attentive, especially Brian who made sure were very happy with our food and the service we received. Our meal arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. The cocktails from the bar were unique and creative. I highly recommend Mosaic to anyone in the Carrboro area!

Excellent menu, can be found online as there may be changes. We had the tacos and salmon croquette with hand made french fries. All tested very nice, the fried made on air fryer to perfection. Customer service tops. Perhaps the most significant point for me is a sign on the door, indicating if you want to eat indoors must be vaccinated!!! To me, it is important to support civic duty and willingness to cooperate on the control of the virus. will return.

A wonderful experience throughout! We started with the French onion soup, which was quite remarkable. Perfectly melted cheeses on a hearty bread, a balanced broth with a generous amount of onions. Our main course was the inky fettuccini - a sepia sauce with clams and shrimp. It was deliciously complex with a bit of heat and citrus which perfectly complimented the seafood. There is much more on the menu to explore and we highly recommend a visit.

First time there! Great outdoor seating. Wonderful pork and potatoes soup. The fries were very good too. I had the mosaic salad. It was very well done. I don't like over dressed and it was not. And thank you for having a gluten free dessert option. The chocolate chip monster cookie was delish!

Dinner was so nice. They are spacing tables very far apart. The patio has a tent and heaters despite the website saying it's unheated. Service was terrific and not rushed. Food was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. Familiar flavors done differently and reasonably priced. I look forward to returning.

Wonderful experience. We ate outside and it was perfect. Fennel and pistachio salad, watermelon salad, trail mix, tomato pie, onion soup...all fabulous! Don't forget desserts - we tried the yummy chocolate cake and the lemon blueberry pie.

The food was delicious. The branzino was exceptional and the chocolate torte was a great finish to the meal. We opted for some of the garden meals as tapas as many in our party were vegan and they were also fantastic.

My wife and I went to celebrate her birthday (belated) and it was delicious! We will absolutely go back! They also required proof of vaccination, which we appreciated!

Imaginative menu, nice vibe, helpful staff, covid safe re either masks or proof of vaccine, or eat outdoors. Nice outdoor patio but not rainproof

Excellent tapas wine restaurant ... outdoor seating was comfortable ... service was friendly.

Five stars for an innovative menu of small plates, but 4 stars for execution. Only a couple of minor things distracted from a really good meal and these might be to teething pains (they'd only been open 8 days). The bread that came with the mussels was rock hard (maybe meant as a crouton, but you could break a tooth) and the broth had too much ginger. My SO thought the oyster mushrooms were too salty. The service was good. We'll be going back to give these guys another try. (FYI, we *really* miss Provence. If you do too, try Kitchen at 764 M.L.K. Jr Blvd.)

I ate here with a few friends and it was okay. We ordered a few drinks, small plates, and entrees, and shared one dessert. For starters, the ambience is great. Cute, cozy, and rustic outdoor seating. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was a bit strange. Our waiter brought water but didn’t ask about drinks until his second time back. He also didn’t ask about ordering food. I flagged him down after a bit and ordered a few small plates for our table. He then took up the menus for everyone except me, even though everyone at the table would be ordering more food. A considerable amount of time passed with him not seeing our table, even after our apps arrived. We were hungry and ready to have entrees, so I flagged him down again to order. And, the same flagging situation with dessert. Did he assume we weren’t there to eat food? Felt odd. The food was good but not the best for the restaurant scene in this area. The fried olives weren’t the most exciting but other items were good. I really enjoyed the arancini. One of my friends had the duck and said it was good but a bit greasy flavored. I had the chicken and it was decent. The vegan cheesecake was very wonderful as well as the torte. Overall, good but not the best. Hopefully your waitstaff experience will be better. I still tipped 20% as I always do, but I would hope for someone more attentive.

Really nice first time experience. Christine(server) was knowledgeable about menu and friendly. Tried 4 small plates and each was tasty. Gazpacho, fried eggplant, roasted local mushrooms and of course some frites! 2 drinks and a glass of wine for a nil of $120 w tip.

Decent food but service was unnecessarily slow. Editd to add... I understand staffing is a problem everywhere. We were there when the restaurant opened for the night, there was 1 other table with people. After waiting without issue for about 30 minutes for our food, we were told it was given to another table and they were remaking it. We waited a 2nd time for our food to be made. I would return for the mushroom salad.

Had the BALT (Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato) and the spritzer. The weather was gorgeous, the spritzer refreshing, and the man who cleared my table and brought my food was gracious. Unfortunately, although the sandwich looked pretty, the ciabatta was cold and stale, and the bacon was cold. Maybe it was just an off-day for the cook. I hope so and I will give it another chance because I love their outdoor seating and would love to visit Mosaic more frequently.

The service was not great. The manager was pretty rude. Expect the wine glasses announced on the menu to be served as less than half a glass. The food was bland.

I've been to Mosaic more than a handful of times since the opening of their new cafe. If you're looking for Costco grade pastries- this is your shop. Shoddy lamination and definitely not French butter in their pastries. Food is okay at best. I've sampled a few of their offerings on their lunch menu and nothing special, not distinct. Baptist had a vision and poorly executed the place. Outdoor patio is basic, pebbles, a few string lights, some tables. Questionable aesthetic choices for the interior though. If this was anywhere else, it would average two stars. Given it's in DT Carrboro with limited dining options, I understand the higher average.

The staff was lovely and the wine that was recommended was great. We shared three small plates and the oysters were over cooked and I could barely even taste the oyster under the batter. The scallops were so bitter that I actually couldn’t eat them and spit them out. The shrimp and avocado was decent but nothing amazing. It was so disappointing after hearing such good reviews and knowing that Provence was delicious. We decided not to get entrees after our experience. I told our waitress and we paid for the meal but will not return.

The former Provence Restaurant was known for quality food and good service. The new incarnation as Mosaic still has the decent food, with a less franco-centric menu. The staff is personally so nice and pleasant. Unfortunately the service is TERRIBLE. Saturday night June 26 2021 a disaster. Almost two hours for dinner to (not) arrive. Nobody even thought to bring by some bread or an appetizer to quench. didn't turn out to be that romantic dinner, we left. At these prices some attention to old fashioned customer service might be called for. What a shame.

What a mess. We chose this restaurant for our daughter’s graduation brunch. After freezing temperatures we so wanted to sit inside. Not allowed unless you have your vaccine card. Understood. Then were presented a menu of eggs and wheat which we have allergies to. We were not informed of this menu change prior to our reservation. We had no choice but to go somewhere else. They charged us $60 for canceling. I’m sorry for them as you really can’t make it these days when not caring about potential customers. First negative review I’ve ever written!
