'L Civel Casalbeltrame Reviews
Personale molto cortese. Consiglio
Ottima cucina. Prezzi più che onesti. Consigliatissimo

On Sunday, January 25th, we went to eat at this restaurant. The place is very beautiful, welcoming, and quaint. We had a starter, L'civel la paniscia dolce. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back. Congratulations to all of you. Keep up the good work. A huge hug. 😉😉😉😊😊😊😊
The restaurant is welcoming, as is the staff, polite and helpful. The menu offers typical local dishes as well as more classic options and a good selection of wines. We tried both versions of the pappardelle, with wild boar and porcini mushrooms, excellent, well-combined, and made with excellent ingredients. For the main course (available by reservation only), the goose stew was simply sublime, cooked to perfection on a bed of cabbage. To finish, the waiter recommended a walnut and fig tart, lightly drizzled with honey, along with a good coffee and a local liqueur, Lyskamm, with its botanical, fragrant flavors and served chilled. The beauty of the place struck me, but the cuisine won me over.
Found by chance. But what a wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful interior. Friendly staff and delicious food at a fair price.

We happened upon this place while passing through after a day at the nearby Vicolungo outlet, and decided to try it out for its selection of traditional dishes. The place is very charming, and the owner welcomes you with a smile. We ate a fillet of heifer that we'll remember for a long time, with butter to cut and cooked to perfection. The desserts were delicious, and the fig and walnut tart was something special. Highly recommended.
During the FAI days, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. Even though it was already 1:30 PM, the owners Paolo and Giovanna prepared us a delicious paniscia novarese. We discovered a truly interesting peasant history and enjoyed a truly authentic atmosphere. It's truly remarkable that this restaurant was appreciated by the writer, painter, and storyteller Sebastiano Vassalli. His home was open to visitors in the afternoon thanks to the FAI. These are places to be treasured and promoted for their cultural richness and the breathtaking beauty of their landscape. Thanks to the farmers and their wisdom.
This restaurant was open on Thursday. It was really difficult to find some opened restaurant in Navara region. Everything we have tried, was perfect, especially tiramisu. It was really the best. Nice interior and friendly staff. Highly recommend this restaurant. The only thing is they don't speak English. It was a little bit difficult to book the table in advance.
A relaxing atmosphere in a special setting. Housed in a former barn whose origins are preserved in the high walls of the restaurant, 'L Civel recently updated its look and menu thanks to the work of Antonino Cannavacciuolo. The large fireplace remains the focal point of the dining room, enhanced with a reading station. It could be an excellent book-crossing point. Guests feel welcome and part of the family, the service is attentive and the menus personalized; the cooking is meticulously supervised, and the presentation always takes into account the combinations of color and texture. Ideal for the set lunch menu, superb on special occasions. Well done Paolo, Giovanna, and the entire staff!
Ristorante ‘L Civel was recommended to us by Giorgia, a local florist in central Novara, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Beautiful, welcoming atmosphere set in a refurbished farm house. Ristorante ‘L Civel serves traditional Novarese dishes- we had the fritti vegetables, tartare, grilled vegetables and pesce carpaccio to start, before having the tagliatelle con vongole, gnocchi and paniscia. Our food was amazing, especially the paniscia, a Novarese risotto and the perfect comfort food. Paolo recommended our wine, Mazzoni, which paired perfectly with our meals. Paolo is passionate about food and wine, and was the perfect host. We felt very welcome and strongly recommend Ristorante L’ Civel to anyone based in, or visiting, Turin or Milan.
It definitely deserves 5 stars! I escaped the cold and desolate Lombardy to find refreshment in the peaceful and green Novara plain. The restaurant is an old farmhouse, beautifully renovated but furnished with antique taste: a beautiful blend of ancient and modern. Very clean and well-maintained. The staff is very helpful; I had the opportunity to speak with the waiter, who I assume is also the manager, and I found him very friendly and helpful. I ordered a local wine rather than travel too far between the Langhe and Monferrato regions, and he suggested a 2017 Ghemme (100% Nebbiolo), which paired beautifully with the ravioli with venison ragù and the sliced Fassona beef. Typical Novara cuisine. Everything was delicious and perfect. I highly recommend it. Outdoor seating is also available.
Very nice restaurant, great view, good food for fair prices....
Bad city's not bad restaurant. But it is very expensive.
A small place with its own charm....we happened upon it by chance today late at noon after a morning of shopping. I'd say we had a great time. The pasta with shrimp and zucchini was excellent, creamy and cooked to perfection. The game gnocchi and Baba were also excellent, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend them. The waiter was a bit tired, perhaps because he was only serving 6 tables of about 30 people.
Watson and I, for our gastronomic investigation, return to the scene of the crime: Casalbeltrame, the subject of a previous investigation. This time, the place we're investigating is L'civel, which in local dialect means a cartwheel tool. We head there, as usual, at the evening opening and find a well-maintained building with several rooms, the main one boasting a beautiful fireplace (for aesthetics only) that soars above a room whose ceiling reaches the ridge beam. Located in the Novara countryside, a fertile rice-growing area, Civel offers a menu more suited to a pizzeria (it contains several photographs); When it came time to order the first surprise: of the six first courses on the list, three were rice-based (Paniscia Novarese and two others with Venere rice), but the Paniscia required a 45-minute wait, while the two with Venere rice, given the incredibly long preparation time, were not worth mentioning. We opted for two gnocchi with game ragù, while for the second course, Watson opted for a fillet of young beef with green peppercorns, while I opted for an identical fillet, but grilled and served with sautéed potatoes. For dessert, we chose a berry tart and Sicilian cannoli. We finished with two coffees. With half a liter of house wine and a liter of mineral water, we spent €97.50 for two: everything was good, but with only one side, no appetizer, and the house wine (½ liter!), I'd say the price was a bit excessive. If you then consider that in the land of rice it was not even possible to eat a risotto, that a passito was not available with dessert and that pizza was also available, but it was not offered to us nor was it on the menu, well I believe that the owners, helpful, kind and thoughtful, should reconsider their priorities.
Devo dire che questa volta sono stata meno soddisfatta delle altre....un po il servizio (cameriera nn solita)...l attesa un ora e 15 x un risotto......e le quantità. ....sarà cambiato qcosa nella gestione? Cmq non male da provare.
Prices are very different from those published on their website, obviously higher, as you can see from the attached image. They are rude from the moment you call to make your reservation, and they reconfirm it upon arrival. No one welcomes you or offers you a warm welcome. The father and daughter serving in the dining room, with about forty seats, are already completely overwhelmed. The shouting from the kitchen is a testament to the chaos and confusion. Paniscia arrives quite a while later, overcooked and lukewarm, and we're in the homeland of risotto! The atmosphere is unsatisfactory if you completely lack professionalism and charisma. ABSOLUTELY AVOID.
The only positive note is the food, which is good and high-quality. However, if you order a set menu, I recommend having the agreement written down and signed to avoid SURPRISES at the checkout and being told you don't want to pay! When in reality, you first confirm the terms and prices, and then everything is changed on-site, charging costs that should have been included, as agreed upon over the phone. So, please, have everything written down! Better safe than sorry! Furthermore, if you own a restaurant, the first rule is RESPECT for your customers! It's a shame because there is potential, but it must also be accompanied by everything that goes beyond knowing how to cook well. To be fair, I've also attached a photo of the food—the only positive note!
