New coffee shop in Castro Valley with big space and nice staff and service. It was previously Cafe 4. Lots of space to study and natural lights. They use Cat & Cloud Coffee from Santa Cruz which is great coffee 🙂 They have some pastries options as well. Let’s support them!

My main memory was it was pretty warm but I also burn like a volcano so you ladies might love it here plus 18 sweaters haha. Grabbed a tuna Sand that had a nice hint of sweetness to it. Wifi at the nook I sat at was pretty spotty I believe I ended up on a hotspot from my cellphone They recently extended their hours and I think I left at 4pm this day

I love the place. My husband introduced me to this place when he was reviewing. It's very spacious, cozy and perfect for studies. Like everyone do their stuffs respectfully. See photos for references. I love their matcha latte if your into hot drink and chocolate for iced (kid-friendly). Can't say anything bad. I really like it. They also have wifi for public.

This place doesn’t disappoint!!! The working crews were all kind and friendly. Very comfortable outdoor and indoor seating. Wide selection of drinks and treats. My cappuccino here is perfect every time. I would highly recommend Cafe 4 Coffee! Also, check out their books 📚 section :)

I love this place! The coffee tastes great! I got a latte. The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly. There is PLENTY of space! They have a lot of outlets if you need to work for a while. It seems like a great place to bring friends, read, or get work done. The baristas were so friendly! It has a very nice look and calm music.

The coffee is from Verve, which in my experience is as much about surfing and Santa Cruz as it is also quietly about Jesus and more vocally about good coffee. There are a handful of quietly faithful based roasters like Verve, Temple, Land and Water, and Devout. All them follow in the evangelical tradition of taking counter cultural trends and converting them into deeply religiously tied expressions of that thing while simultaneously becoming done of the best versions of that thing; think hippie congregations in the 60's and 70's, hard-core bands in the 2000's, and coffee houses in the twenty-aughts. The coffee is great, and the people are kind. There's a beautiful view. The only caveat I would add is that your purchases are likely feeding into a mega church that may have differing values or beliefs from yours. At this point in late stage capitalism, you are likely better giving a group of religious folks your dollar that you don't agree with than a large corporate chain who supposedly support the same humanist values you do because ultimately these films give back to their local communities, and the corporations only give to their shareholders. The only true downside is the atmosphere: it is akin to a lunch hall cafe on a large college campus. There is plenty of room, lots of tables, but if you are not part of the campus or community, it can feel alien and isolating. Really cool view though.

The parking lot is almost full when I arrived this morning. This is most likely due to a conference event that runs from Monday to Wednesday this week. I decided to come back here again and the seats are mostly taken as usual. Really big and good place for working, studying, relaxing, hanging out, and having meetings! There were no croissants at that time except for Ham & Cheese. When I got Iced Coffee, they served it with a couple of huge cubes inside haha

Cafe 4 is so far the most pleasant cafe ive been to in the past. I found myself super energetic and motivated when I'm here, would get a LOT of work done everytime I come. Highly recommended for students who live in this area.

The best coffee in Castro Valley and surrounding area. They make their own almond milk which is what I usually substitute the milk with my lattes. Wish I was still working remotely as this is a great place to work or study while having delicious coffee. They have free WiFi and plenty of tables/chairs and power outlets. It can get pretty packed though but if you get there early enough you shouldn’t have any problems finding a cozy spot. Parking is a plenty. The only time I would avoid if you’re just going for coffee is Sunday around noon time when mass gets out. It can be pretty crowded and one of the parishioners slammed their truck door into my car 🫤

Walked in on a Thursday morning, packed! Not a seat available! Think collage library centered around a coffee shop. Baristas were great, coffee was great and those East Bay views. Will be coming back!

The view from here is really pretty, and oddly relaxing even though it's of the 580 freeway. I love the space with the high ceilings and window panels. It is a beautiful open area with a lot of spaced out seating. The coffee was also very good. I had the nitro cold brew and it was so smooth, and perfectly stong. I also had the iced sweet latte which was very creamy. They also have coffee ice cubes which I thought was so simple but cleaver. Instead of watering it down, it made it a bit stronger, but not bitter. Also a great place to study, but as of 10/10/17, their restroom is under construction, so they do have a portable restroom (like a trailer) and port-o-potties.

This is a Castro Valley gem! Great views outside and super spacious inside. You'll be able to find a cozy spot for work or just catching up with a friend. They have a small selection of items for lunch. There are pastries and a great coffee menu, too. Avoid the chains and try this spot for good coffee the next time your in Castro Valley.

Part of the 3 Crosses Church but open to the public. Very nice café with plenty of space to hang out for a while.

My current favorite place. Neighborhood coffee (formerly Cafe 4) is fantastic for sitting and doing some work or even meeting with a small group. Huge expansive space with massive ceilings and plenty of seating in the foyer of the church. It's located at the iconic 3 crosses church near 238 and 580, so most people in the area have probably driven past it at some point. The cafe has a few nice drinks and some pastries served at room temperature. They do not have a microwave as they have told me numerous times 🙂 Wi-Fi is solid and reliable. Bathroom on on site and plenty of free parking outside. Located very close to the intersection of 238 and 580, somewhat close to the castro valley downtown area.

What a great church with a safe cafe to work in if you want a warm drink or snack. They have ice skating during the winter holidays with plenty of fun things to do there's a free Choo Choo train Christmas lights vendors and food. I'm sure they have many other special events. I want to make it to the services, but they are at 9 and 11 am on Sunday, and I am working at that time.

Overall good but not outstanding - other than service, which was excellent. To be fair, I went on a Sunday morning which is probably not the best time. Brew coffee was non-offensive. Aero-press unavailable on Sundays. Pastries were pleasant - not the best I've ever had, but nice. Good lemon scone and Cinnamon roll was decent. I'd recommend on a weekday if you are in the area.

This place definitely has a unique set up - for better or worse. The cafe is not completely separate from the church, it’s more like a huge foyer of the church that happens to have a cafe with tables and chairs to sit in. Everyone here is quite friendly and the space is big and open, almost if you’re in a library - great for studying. The chairs and seating are comfortable which is always important if you need a place to stay for a few hours. One downside is that around 5, church services and community spaces take over the cafe area - so beware if you’re looking to study here later into the evening.

So far the best place to work remotely in CV but there are some drawbacks. Even though it's a large space, it's sometimes difficult to find a place to work near an outlet. They also need signs to control etiquette, too many people are loud, or have their phones on speakerphone when they are talking, or do video conferences without headphones. Orders are right 85% of the time. Need to keep doors closed to keep warm air in, or signs to tell people to close door behind them. Sometimes there are disruptions from large groups that come in that make it really noisy. Sometimes the music is really loud and makes it difficult to have conversations thus bringing the overall volume of the area up significantly. Good drinks.
