AlibiAzul Cathedral City Reviews
Love the food and the margaritas are very tasty.
Sergio, bartender, goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable in his 'casa'. Great lunch! Enchilada suisas? The bomb, traditional. So... last review a year ago. Here for dinner, mobbed on a Tuesday, for good reason. Best food (Chile rellano shrimp.. my wife got all the shrimp...) best service, This should be a top 100 on yelp, nationwide.
Delicious! Tuesday special of $1.50 tacos is awesome. Carnitas was the fave among us but shredded chicken and shredded beef were great, too. None were very greasy or fatty. Both hard and soft shells were good. I had the steak special last week and it was amazing. Mashed red skin potatoes and mixture of veggies included grilled zucchini, corn, tomatoes. Husband said burrito was excellent. Margaritas are a little small but tasty. Mexican coffee was good (alcoholic, FYI) and reminded us of Bailey's. Fried ice cream is very large (easy to share) and uses chocolate chunk vanilla ice cream. Flan comes as a decent-sized slice and in told was fantastic as well. Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable of gluten-free options.
My wife was seated while I was using the restroom so when I came out I asked the waitress/hostess where did you seat my wife? She sarcastically answered "I don't know" and when my daughter joined us for dinner she asked the same waitress what kind of non alcoholic drinks do you have? She sarcastically responded look on the menu but thank God another waitress took over and she gave us great service otherwise if that waitress continued serving us I would have rated the restaurant as ONE ⭐.
This place is one of my favorites restaurants in the valley. We’ve been coming here for almost 20 years. The food is authentic Mexican food and never disappoints.
Awesome place. Visiting from Maryland and found it online. Super friendly staff, large portions and very food salsa. Great tasting food overall. Every meal tasted great. All 4 people are fully and totally satisfied. Glad we came here!
I’m from Texas and this is my go to place every time I’m in town. Just made my 25th trip here and I can say enough about the quality of their food. We have great TexMex food in Texas but this place is at the top of my list. You won’t find a bigger helping or better tasting plate of fajitas anywhere!
Always consistently good food. Love the mole sauce, and the fact you can order it as a side and use it on whatever you order. I had the carnitas, and they were moist and crispy.
La Tablita offers deliciously traditional Mexican cuisine and presents a charming atmosphere. The Margaritas are incredible and come in a variety of flavors.
Great food although it's not cheap, the prices are reasonable. The food is always good, I would give them 5 stars ✨ if they served heated tortilla chips. I will never understand Mexican restaurants 🍴 that serve cold chips. They are good and so is the salsa. I love the Barbeque chicken 🐔 salad 🥗.
Great overall experience! We were next door at the filthy Greek place, and I couldn't stay there. So we went next door and found this fantastic little Mexican place with awesome interior design and art, totally clean, great menu, great service, great prices for lunch, and delicious food (and skinny Rita's!). We will be coming back again and again! And I'm super picky! The owner obviously takes pride in ownership! Kudos! The only thing I would change is the chips and salsa. The salsa could be more spicy. The chips could be crunchier.
My wife and I visited La Tablita after seeing positive reviews and close to our hotel. It was amazing! Elmer took great care of us and from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left the experience was five stars. Every dish, and drinks were fabulous. We’re already planning to come back next time we’re in town. If you love great Mexican food and atmosphere I highly recommend.
We had a fabulous meal of appetizers ‼️ More than we could possibly eat! Nachos were delicious and gigantic. The spring rolls - yellow chilis stuffed with shrimp, bacon and cheese with Chipotle were amazing!
I’m not a big fan of Mexican food but this restaurant is the best i ever tried. The food is perfect, the Service is amazing and and the margaritas are the best. Candy and Benjamin are the
First time visit for me and a friend, it was his birthday. For me, the menu was limited, not the standard choices on the combo plates. The food was tasty, and the staff was very nice. I had pictures, but somehow, I switched profiles on Google and posted them there, where I am a level 5 reviewer.
AMAZING!!! We had steak nachos and carne asada tacos and a mango margarita. Absolutely delicious! The inside of the restaurant is darling and the service was impeccable. Definitely adding to the list of regular favorites!
Simply the most outstanding Mexican food on the planet. This is must establishment when in the Palm Desert! 10 on service, 10 on staff, 10 on every aspect of this fine hidden gem. This dream of a restaurant is absolutely spotless and comfortable. 11 out of 10. Thank you. Pat Schoeffel
Finally went there after recommendation from friend. Everything was on point, service, food, and atmosphere. We ordered fajita and carne plates.. delicious, the beans are 10 stars, …. Thank you definitely coming back
A little cozier than larger restaurants of this caliber, but any wait is well worth it. The service is impeccable, the food, delicious and the atmosphere warm, and inviting. ***Tip...ask for their Mole on just about anything, it's a bit more, but so worth it.
Very authentic and delicious. Generous portions and fast service.
Food was great. I had fish tacos, rice, beans. Excellent, had meal at three I was full and no need to eat the rest of the day. Friend had a combo special. There is a lot to choose from here, I ordered the tacos which were grilled not fried. After I ordered I realized there was another menu of lunch specials-tons of them.
Food taste very fresh and was very delicious!!! Service was exceptional as I am also a server/Bartender.
My family and I had a very pleasant experience at La Tablita. The salsa was tasty with fresh, crisp chips and the guacamole was so good. We tried the caldo de pollo (definitely has a kick to it) and it was perfect for the cold weather while the crispy and soft tacos were tasty as well. The staff is friendly and welcoming and we’re glad we made a reservation since they were very busy.
Love the food. Service is great. Had flowers for Moms on Mother's Day. Food and choices always delicious. Hard to choose what to get because everything is great
Soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with smiles and the Authentic Mexican vibe. Cute place, great food, good value for money. Make sure to tip our hard working friends at La Tablita.
Amazing service, outstanding food, and live music (tasteful and subtle electric piano and vocals in the main dining room). At least on the Friday evening we dined. We arrived at about 8pm and it was pretty packed. We had a 30 minute wait. But you know what that means - that the place is gonna be worth it. If you hate waiting, I think they take reservations. My mom caught wind of this spot from a local when she was flying into town, and we were thrilled that we were able to make it in. I have said it already, but I will say it again - LA TABLITA ROCKS. We ate at the bar and were served by Christoper. who was a delight. Oh, and if you like things HOT, ask for the hot salsa. It's homemade and amazing. Recommended.
Excellent food and service. Chili Verde is my go to for assessing a Mexican restaurant. Theirs is tender, with a good flavor and spice.
This restaurant is fantastic, super clean, friendly staff and very efficient. Food was great to round out a perfect lunch.
I thought we struck gold. Excellent dinner. Great service. Will be back later in the week for round 2.
Great food, we had the chile verde puerto and enchilada suizas. Benjamin was a great server.
Always one of the highlights of our trips to Palm Springs is a visit to La Tablita Mexican restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere are incredible. We recommend the Cadillac Margaritas and fajitas. You will leave here happy and by no means hungry!
Had large family gathering. We were seated promptly, drinks refilled regularly, food order was correct and FAST. Would recommend Chile verde, tamale, nachos, and shrimp cocktail! Thanks for amazing time for our family.
I was completely surprised by this place. I drive by it almost every day and just never considered going in. I did the other day and had a great lunch. The food was excellent.. The chips and salsa were fresh and very tasty I ordered the pork chili verde and my friend had two enchiladas..plates had plenty of beans, rice and a little salad. Prices are on the higher end but the food is good so you won't mind paying a few dollars more. The diningroom area is small but it was not busy..I was there at 3pm..Atmosphere is good, nicely decorated but it might be alittle dim inside. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
I cant say enough about Miguel. He was awesome. So helpful, accommodating and friendly helping me setup a work Christmas dinner here. Food and atmosphere were perfect. Staff was friendly and on top of everything. Made a great night for everyone. Thank you!!
Do not let the exterior of this place fool you—once you step through the doors, you are transported into a beautifully designed Spanish style oasis. It is the definition of a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, the service was world-class. We actually showed up slightly before they opened, but Benjamin saw me carrying my baby and immediately invited us inside so I could sit down. It was such a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the entire meal. Benjamin was truly the highlight of our visit. He was incredibly attentive, professional, and so sweet with my infant. On top of the amazing hospitality, he crafted one of the best margaritas I have ever had. If you want authentic vibes, a stunning interior, and service that feels like family, this is the spot. Benjamin made our experience unforgettable. We will definitely be back!
An absolute 10/10. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Everything was incredible. Vegetarian options were delicious! Had their special, avocado cheese enchiladas and steak fajitas. The hibiscus tea was so refreshing.
My husband and I met my sister at this restaurant last October 2024. The food was superb! Super delicious and very appetizing visually! The restaurant is bright but fun and our waitress was wonderful. We can't wait to go back again!!! 😋👍🏼
This is a wonderful little restaurant in a strip mall. Interior Decor set the wonderful mood for the meal. The staff is extremely polite and helpful and the food was delicious. I tried the chicken mole and it was to die for. I'm visiting the area for a few weeks and I will make sure that I come back before I leave. Make time for this place.
Everything was delicious here! Ordered camarones a la diabla, carne asada burrito and coctel de camaron with agua de jamaica and a chabela. We will be adding this place into rotation whenever we come back to the valley. Its was so good and the staff is on it and kind not just nice but kind which is always appreciated.
Second time visiting, and both experiences have been excellent! Let’s start with the chips and salsa - the salsa is so fresh, I’m hard pressed to think of ANY other Mexican restaurant that has better. I always say that the quality of the chips and salsa are indicative of the rest of the food at any Mexican restaurant - and that holds true here. Tonight, I had the chile verde plate and it was beautiful. The presentation is great, and the food was so tasty! The pork was so tender, and the verde sauce was perfectly spicy without being TOO spicy to enjoy. The beans and rice were perfectly prepared and the melted cheese on the beans was perfecto! Service here has been wonderful each visit, and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant has a dining area that is fairly small, and a larger bar type area with tables that is more open and a bit noisier. That said, it’s comfortable and easy to have a conversation with everyone at your table. This is a popular spot and can get very busy. It’s become a great go-to when in the Palm Springs area; definitely a treat when in town!
I love this restaurant. The flavors are strong and authentic and the service can't be beat. I have had the pezole, tacos and various other dishes and they are all good. The chips are fresh and flavorful and the salsa has a nice zing to it but not too hot. I try to hit this spot every chance I can for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable and the place is always full but seems to always have a spot to sit with the exception of perhaps Friday and Saturday night. You should try this place out!
I really enjoyed this place. Live music was really good. The service staff were nice and did their job well. The food was big portions, but things were kind of bland. The fresh salsa was good, not great; chips were awesome, the guac was bland, and the fajitas meat was really tough... We will definitely be back...
Fish tacos were amazing! Chips & salsa fresh and tasty! Hubs had combo beef taco & pork burrito verde. Both very flavorful but buttocks have used more verde for his taste. Beans & rice served as sides, tasty. Reasonably priced and service was friendly and efficient.
Went here for Lunch. It was my first time. The servers were a bit overwhelmed by all the patrons. They were obviously understaffed. The atmosphere is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant...nothing out of the ordinary. The food, however, was excellent. My favorite was the tacos that were served in crispy fried shells. Most restaurants don't bother frying the shells since this is a lot harder/time consuming than simply using soft shells. However the end result is sooo much better! Next time I will just get 3 tacos.
From outa town. Found this place. Must be a local favorite and good ratings on Google. We got there about 5pm and the bar fills up quickly by 6pm. Carne Asada tacos were good and service was good too. Bartender got overwhelmed with orders and could have used a bar back.
Our favorite Mexican resturant. Quick and yummy. Family owned. Our place to go over church.
Seen the sunday brunch buffet deal $21 with champagne, $15.99 for regular buffet including a soft drink. The food was really good. The had menudo, pozole, tortillas de maiz (corn tortillas), enchiladas, fried chiken, mashed potatoes w/gravy, chiles rellenos, quesadillas with rajas and corn ( really delicious), shrimp , ceviche( i think it was shrimp), flan and another dessert which i think it was coconut flan. I did not get pictures from inside or the food but i recommend it. You can also order from the menu which we will do next time. All the staff was awesome.
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent, but the prices were a bit high. We spent $160 for two people and a couple drinks.
Quaint Popular Welcoming ambience Pleasant staff Extensive menu -Traditional Menu -Appetizers -Salads -Speciality Plates -Fajitas -Taco Platters -Burritos & Chimichangas -Combinations -Side Orders -Desserts -Children's menu -Beverages 1st time visit on a day trip to Palm Springs. Invited by my friend. It is one of his favorite Mexican restaurants. He ordered: -Carnitas de Puerco with Rice and Beans. (He took a photograph this time) lol I ordered: Chicken Enchiladas Suizas with Rice and Beans. To drink we both ordered: Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea) Both plates had good presentation and flavor. I look forward to returning to La Tablita on my next visit to Palm
First off let me say the house margarita was excellent and the $3 up charge for the large was well worth it. I appreciated the a la carte menu items as well since I’m not a fan of rice and beans. The food itself was good but not great. The carnitas were dry and my wife didn’t like the red sauce with her chile relleno. But overall the service was good and we’ll undoubtedly be back.
Lots of lead to restaurant is located in Cathedral city in the revivals parking lot. The inside is fun and festive, the staff are friendly and attentive. And the food is always tasty. The food is creative, many seafood dishes and one of my favs, stuffed shrimp chile relleno, mole dishes, chile verde dishes and fajita options.
We arrived at 605 for a 615 reservation. The person managing the tables, started walking the other way when we came in the door. Was not greeted or welcomed... in any fashion. He didn’t want any part of me walking in the door. In fact, as I came in….he was walking away. As he was trying to bolt…I told him hello and I have a reservation. He smiled as through clinched teeth, and acknowledged us. Obviously he seemed bothered, stressed and running all over the place trying to get people a table. They were extremely BUSY. You can feel the chaos immediately when you walk in. I am rating the wait staff as 4 stars. Though they were busy, they were kind and friendly. Very attentive. The meal came out FAST! Food was just ok, tomatillo sauce was tasty. Bathroom was very clean. Enjoyed the tiles in the bathroom. Since the restaurant was so busy it was LOUD, hard to carry a conversation without raising your voice. All meals were around 21 and up. A bit pricy for Mexican. While half way through the meal the guy managing the tables came to our table to grab a chair. He didn’t ask. He just grabbed it from our table. Obviously he does his job, but has the warmth and consideration of a snow pea. Overall it was not great. We did not feel valued. We felt like we were a bother.
Not the best Mexican food I've had but not the worst. The service is always pretty good. The food is hit and miss. Some dishes great, some not so much, however the food is priced well for Mexican fare and you are likely to find something you like. Great deep fried ice cream. Can't go wrong with the cheese enchiladas. Excellent shrimp cocktail. Great chips. Salsa could use a reworking, not the most flavorful but a nice little place. I've been at least a dozen times.
We were disappointed in our dinner last night relative to previous visits. The guacamole was bland, my enchilada Suizas tradicional was a tasteless mess overwhelmed by sour cream, having no discernable cheese and oddly including pickled jalapenos. But the real shocker was the $26 large "Cadillac" margarita. It was certainly large, but the mixer was sweet and one-dimensional, and--thankfully given its size--there was clearly very little tequila in it. I settled on a three-star overall rating because other's mains were better than mine and service was a bright spot, but we won't be rushing back.
First visit. Experience wasn't comfortable as we were in a smaller space dominated by mostly loud, verbally animated men. One of my items was supposed to be a chile relleno, but it was just a mishmash. There was no form to it. Overall, the service was OK, the food was OK, except the chips salsa was really good. We won't be going back though. It just wasn't a relaxing experience.
Me and my friends used to love this place!! We would come here all the time in the past 3 to 4 years. We all used to order the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer. Used to come with these huge, jumbo shrimp, and it was excellent!! I’ve been gone from the area for about a year, recently returned and ordered the shrimp appetizer, and it’s made with tiny shrimp now! Not nearly as good. And their prices have gone up so much in the past few years!! Everything on the menu is basically 20 bucks now. And a regular skinny margarita is now $13.50!! The food at La Tablita is solid. It’s not excellent. It’s good. These prices are too high for what La Tablita offers.
Great!!! Delicious food, great prices, good service, atmosphere awesome, entertainment perfect. Loved it! I almost hate to share because it’s a gem and would hate for it to get too busy and change. Had a lovely dinner. 💃🏾 This review was my review a few years ago. And I actually went back last year and I still felt the same. But I have been back in the last week and I was disappointed ☹️. Food was not the same. Lacking to say the least. Maybe different cook. I boasted about the food and my friends were not impressed. Decor has changed as well. I’m sad.
We are here for the 3rd time. I've gotta say the chicken enchilada was as tough as shoe leather and flavorless. The chile Colorado was also very tough and chewy. So disappointing. It's so easy to serve fresh food. The meat was old and frozen before it was served. I want to like you La Tablita but I'm not happy. Now that you've managed to take a 19.00 dollar two item combo to 37.00 dollars I'm even more unhappy. Not coming back.
Well this experience was a little different had a client brag about this place so I came and the one waitress tended to us as if it was a full house and there was only three tables, not sure if she was tired or annoyed she seemed disconnected from work, we waited so long to just order for our food, then when it finally came it was as if there was no flavor no salt in the food, chicken was dry no flavor, just kind of felt like it was made with no love or passion. :( not satisfied. I don’t know I’ll probably come back and see if the experience is different but this was not what I was expecting because my client highly recommended it. Hopefully it’s different next time.
WON'T BE GOING BACK TO LA TABLITA MEXICAN RESTAURANT Went Monday evening (2 of us) and after finally getting seated got water and chips. Three tables of large parties were seated after us. They were waited on and their orders taken and drinks and meals delivered. We were never approached again for food or drink order after more than 35 minutes presumably because our table of two would not generate as much revenue. We finally just got up and left going to elsewhere to eat. WII NOT GO BACK TO LA TABLITA. My rant..
As residents of Palm Springs...we heard that La Tablita was a great choice. We dined once before when it was extremely busy and had a great dinner! So when our out of town family was visiting this weekend...we were excited to take them here. Surprisingly..it was not that busy with 6:45pm reservations and our waitress was very pleasant. But when the food arrived...we were given dinner plates that we didn't order....and then one combination plate was missing a taco and one guest of ours had to wait about 10-15 minutes to eat after our other four guests were well into our meals. While waiting our guests adjacent to us were served their meal cold and were asking the waitress to microwave their meal. Sadly I believe most meals at this time were sadly cold when served. My flour tortilla warmer wasn't necessary because they seemed like they were never warmed. My whole plate including beans and rice were cold. Sadly this will be our last venture in dining to this Cathedral City hotspot.
Everything was excellent until the end. The food was terrific. The service was prompt, polite, and friendly. Dinner was modest priced at 80 for two. It would have included a 20$ tip except the waiter pushed my husband to vacate our table while I was going to the bathroom which took all of a minute. I could understand if perhaps I had been gone for a protracted period of time but I was barely gone 60 seconds and it was just incredibly rude. I was disoriented and 😡 when I came out to an empty table. I was slightly confused and disoriented for a minute and quite annoyed with my husband whom I thought was the culprit, until he informed me that the waiter ran him off the table because they were busy. How rude. I lived in NYC for years, nobody did that. I was pissed at my husband for allowing that, but assuaged when my husband informed me that he deprived the rude waiter of his tip. All his hard work down the toilet in a second for being greedy and rude. I hope it was his doing. Anyway, enough on that. Lesson hopefully learned?????
So this was my first and last time here. I’ll make this short and to the point. 1. ordered take-out without any issues 2. picked up food. Service was kind and fast. 3. Prices are above average, but I’m willing to pay if the QUALITY and QUANTITY are there. 4. Brought my food home. It tasted fine not nearly as spicy as I would have hoped and pretty mediocre. My BIGGEST issue was I paid $18 for rice, beans, 2 tortillas(which are standard sides) and 9 shrimp WITH the tail still on. Even for take out the presentation was absolutely horrible. Maybe I ordered the wrong meal, but it was part of the specials so I figured it should be good. Never going again.
The food is not that great. I've never had to ask the waitor for salt before at any restaurant until I came here. Staff were pleasant and attentive, but the food was not good- even the salsa tasted like it came from a jar. My husband had the Carne asada plate and I had the 2 item tostada with chile relleno plate.
We appreciated that the Maître’d honored our reservation at 6:30 p.m. as they were very busy with a considerable waiting line. Also, the servers were very friendly and helpful with making suggestions. Sorry to say that the food on this visit was not as inspiring as a year ago. Last time we dined here, we were satisfied. Perhaps kitchen staff changes resulted in hit-and-miss. We both selected the chile rellanos and cheese enchilada combo. Mine was made from a cheese of which I’m not accustomed. The Anaheim or Passilla peppers were fine, I guess. I prefer chips cooked in vegetable oil. The rice, acceptable when smothered with the table’s tasty red salsa. Unfortunately, our table on this visit was in the center of the very crowded main room on a very busy evening with fellow diners all around us shouting over each other in order to be heard. Hard surfaces did amplify the uproar. The year before, we were lucky to get a wall side table that was quieter. The prices were very reasonable.
This was one of my go-to places until last night. I ordered the albondigas--it was delicious. But they charged me $3.50 for three corn tortillas. And they're not even home made, just the crummy packaged ones. I don't appreciated that nickel and diming of customers so won't return.
Been going to La Tablita for years, but won’t be returning. Their prices have been creeping up and they are are now more expensive than most other Mexican Restaurants, but their quality and flavor have gone down. The ground beef in the tostada was dry and flavorless, the bean and cheese burrito was supposed to have beef in it, but didn’t, and the cheese in the Chili Relleno wasn’t hot. On top of that we also ordered Queso Fundito which was 3 times the about of any other restaurant came with only 3 small tortillas and wasn’t hot enough to keep the cheese from solidifying. This is really disappointing because this was one of my favorite restaurants. There are so many other Mexican Food options, don’t waste your time and money here.
We went to this restaurant and I got sick, we tried it again and my husband got sick so we are not going back!
Horrible experience via La Tablita and GrubHub. We ordered from La Tablita Palm Desert for delivery. About 15 minutes later it was randomly cancelled. We were already hungry and in no mood to figure out something else. So we ordered from La Tablita in Cathedral City. And after more than 35 minutes that was cancelled too! Nothing and only a measly $5 “apology” credit from GrubHub in addition to refund. Over an hour and no food, no explanation and we were very hungry. No excuse for this. Don’t order La Tablita from GrubHub.
