We're proud to have earned a 4.6-star rating from over 200 reviews, reflecting our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Enjoy our great coffee and local specialties in a welcoming dine-in setting, or grab your order to go. We are dedicated to providing a comfortable experience for everyone, with a fully wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating. We're open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM, but closed on Sundays.

The beef dip was without a doubt the best I have ever eaten. The place was absolutely adorable, fair prices bathroom was clean and spacious . Parking in front I would definitely recommend this sweet hidden little gem.
Love local places like this. The diner is decorated nicely, kinda cowboy country house sort of feel. Got to talk to one of the owners about the menu and how the pulled pork was prepared, great stuff! My two teenage boys had cowboy burgers. They loved em, ate em all up. They looked to me to have a good amount of char, thick pieces of bacon (cut nice to fit on the burger and not dangle out) and of course some melted cheese :) I love pulled pork, so I went with the wrap. The smoky flavor was balanced nice with their Cole slaw. The pork did not have an overwhelming amount of smoked flavor. Their home made BBQ sauce went on it and paired wonderfully well. Their slaw is not runny which I prefer as well. We all shared a larger order of onion rings and tried all three sauces. Soooo good. Event got some fries in there. They are not real thick, so a good amount of crunch which is what I like! Full on soda fountain and I saw a couple sipping on bottled beer. I had complimentry water. Definately a good place and worth the small drive out of the crowded city, take your kids. Gonna check out Ike's smokehouse in town later for the full smoked meat menu. I heard the ribs were awesome. Go get your grub on!
Our first time here was fantastic! My son and I both loved the Western Bacon Cheeseburger. Very cool place to eat, and we will definitely be back!
Tri tip sandwich was really good- thinly sliced beef freshly seared with slight char on the edges….

If you're traveling north on Highway 99 at Chico California you must stop at CJ's Last Chance Diner, I suggest get the hot pastrami!! It is my absolute favorite so stop in and enjoy some great company and some great food
Great place to eat! Great burgers with a condiment bar too make your burger perfect.
Last Friday, we came by to rent a storage unit and ended up staying for a late lunch at CJ's. What a hidden gem in north Chico! It's no frills counter service, with a large dining room, and open kitchen. I appreciate being able to see the clean kitchen & prep area with my own eyes. I ordered a grilled chicken salad - it was huge, overflowing with tons of fresh toppings. The staff was hustling through a rush, and yet they were all so attentive and nice. CJ's is a Pepsi establishment, which makes my Diet Coke loving heart a little sad... but the food more than makes up for it. Now I need to time my storage unit runs around lunch hour so I can work my way through the menu! A burger will be next :)

We shared fries and French toast. Everything was excellent. The staff/owner are very friendly and make you feel comfortable. I love the atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Price is very generous and surprisingly affordable. The portion is big. Food quality is very high. They put love in their food. I really appreciate that. I used to own successful restaurants and Cafes in a bigger city. I've eaten in many restaurants all over the world. That being said I give CJs two thumbs up. Now this is my favorite restaurant in the nor cal. I don't know why I didn't find this place earlier.
The burgers were great! If McDonald's is going to be the same price nowadays as somewhere else but fancier I mind as well go somewhere else now and support my local private restaurant business. No more happy meals, just a sad meal. Parking was great also, plenty of parking, easy parking, safe parking right in front of the restaurant.
Absolutely loved this place! Food is great, burger and fries come but you go to the condiment bar to put what you want on it! CJ sauce is amazing! Cute country atmosphere with little flower centerpieces. Great lunch date location! Will be back!
Excellent! I've been wanting to try this place out for some time now and finally had the chance. My family and I are here and the service was great, everyone was friendly and the place was very clean. I had the Skippy peanut butter burger, my wife had the pulled pork sandwich and my daughter has a cheeseburger. As far as burgers goes, I enjoy them and every place that offers a gourmet burger burger I go to. I would say this place is in my top 5. I would and will recommend this place to people I know. Thank you all for the good service.
Driving a big load up Route 99 the last place you will find to eat for miles. I sat down at the bar and ordered the burger it was done to perfection and I was on my way in a matter of minutes thank you for being so easy to get to. They only serve breakfast until 10:30 I'll try that on my way back.
Coworker showed me this place while we were taking our lunch break and I'm glad he did. Cozy little diner. Burger was the best I've had in a while. Will be back to try more on the menu.

Burger was good but there was no ice for my drinkin the machine but they got some from the back.

Decent food, very friendly staff. They have a few seats outside, plenty of seating inside. You order at the counter and they will bring it to you. On the front of their menu it indicates that the prices are different than the prices in the menu if you use a credit card, but it doesn't indicate how much the difference is and/or what the credit card fees are.
This lunch stop was a treat! I have always have appreciated a unique place to eat with great food that is not a chain. The menu is creative and the staff is fantastic: friendly and accommodating. Our 11 y/o son commented that it was the best burger that he has ever had. My fiancee and I had the pulled pork wrap. It was fantastic and much better than its heavy sandwich version.
First visit: very tasty burger, one of the best in town. With that in mind, such a nice burger should not be accompanied by such...ordinary...fries. Please upgrade them to something more in keeping with the "homemade" character of the burger.

The kids had the kids hamburger which was a perfect size for the under 6 crowd. Don't let the attached storage facility keep you from trying this place, which is a little off the beaten path.
