Sin of Cortez Chico Reviews
Excellent food and Coffee. Open on Christmas, 2011. Came back again for Christmas breakfast (2015)with my wife. We Drove 1.5 hours to get to Sin. I may be partial, but their food is great! Fresh food, freshly prepared. Potatoes are some of the best I have had, and the rosemary bread is excellent. Despite how busy it was, the servers were friendly and attentive. No change to my rating... still 5.
Enjoyed my first visit here. The food and service were great. We came here for breakfast. Everyone in our party was super happy with their food and drinks. Their breakfast menu leaves nothing to be desired... except one thing... they don't have Tabasco sauce. It's necessary to have Tabasco if you serve breakfast. Period. That isn't up for debate. Maybe that's the "sin" they're referring to. Because it really is. Not worthy of docking a star, because it really was a great overall experience, and I can definitely see myself coming back here. BYOT haha
When we are in Chico we make sure we have breakfast at least once while we are visiting. They have one of the best breakfast menus and great food I have every had. Lots of great choices and gluten free food. The coffee is also excellent and their tea selection very good. Their sausage, bacon, and potatoes are also very tasty. I am getting hungry just writing about it. Don’t miss this great restaurant. We had to go breakfast the last two times because of the Covid and it was excellent.
Fantastic breakfast place. My favorite meal is the Roast beef hash with the rosemary toast. The rosemary toast is the best thing on this earth. The roast beef hash has very tender beef, fresh tomatoes, and delectable potatoes. I recommend putting the horse radish on this dish. My go to breakfast place with friends.
The food is always fresh and delicious! It's gluten sensitive for my sister with ciliacs. The teas and the coffees are amazing! Always one of my favorite places to go eat!
A step away from all the basic stops and menu's. This is worth the effort to stop in if you are in Chico. Everything is house made. You will need a few visits to find your favorite dish. Just bring cash. No plastic accepted. But there is an ATM in the lobby.
There is a very young staff, possibly University /college people, who are good at their jobs and always make me feel that they are happy to see me and to cater to my every need while talking to each other about something that needs to be done. I usually have some sort of egg dish but this time I decided to have buttermilk pancakes with infused berries. I think it's hard to make pancakes that don't taste dry and even with the berries they were dry to me. My trick at home is to mix up some creme fresch with a little bit of syrup and smother my cakes with it. For some reason I didn't ask for some sour cream but took half the order home and added my little trick. Next time I will add cream of some sort to my order and will enjoy it more. It's a fun place to eat because of the diversity of the customers and the ambience of the long standing restaurant. They are only open til 2 pm and it's cash only. I've been caught a couple of times without enough $ but there is an ATM inside. I am going to have rosemary potatoes and bread with eggs again next time.
Amazing coffee and brunch. Their mixed berry pancakes are amazing and we love the egg scrambles too. The staff is super friendly and fun. It does get crowded on weekend mornings but is worth the wait!
Took a Longgg time to get the food but when it arrived, it was worth the wait. I ordered a BLT on wheat, expecting regular wheat sandwich bread. The bread was (appeared) home made, thick, warm and delicious. What a delight. The side fruit was actually fresh, like it was intended to be eaten, not merely as plate decoration. I was getting impatient when it took so long to get the food but it was fantastic meal and I will definitely return and patiently wait for culinary excellence..
Food was pretty good and portion size was decent to large. Enjoyed the set up and it wasn't so loud we couldn't talk. Might suggest fresh squeezed OJ as an add to the menu and have PB available for those needing the extra protein. Nice place. Neighborhood left a little to be desired.
The Mexican hot chocolate was incredible. Add the whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. We also added eggs to our order of Dragon Potatoes and made a big difference. The French toast was a little dry but so good with the fruit drizzle they add on the sides.
Really tasty food. Creative and flavorful egg options which is what I love for breakfast. The waitress was also super friendly and helpful in describing what each dish was.
Came in on a recommendation from coworkers. Was not disappointed in the least. Lovely chai tea latte. Delicious all Berry pancakes with a side of soft scrambled eggs and spinach. Cooked perfectly. I recommend the sin of Cortez. Quick Service efficient and friendly service. Corey was a good waiter. Bring cash they do not take any cards. Luckily they had an ATM machine at the door lol.
i was in chico for a week and i visited sin of cortez three times because my goodness the food here is SO good. i'm a coeliac who doesn't eat meat, so i normally struggle but this place had me COVERED. i had a great time each time and i miss their food so much already, when i'm back i will absolutely be coming back.
I love coming here! Always has great food and service!! I love the rosemary bread and potatoes!! They have so many ovo-vegetarian options!!! We have only come here during the pandemic both through the drive through and for outdoor seating. This establishment has heaters to keep you warm for outside dining. I also love the variety of mimosas!! This restaurant is an awesome place for breakfast!!!
Great breakfast place. They also serve alcohol and beer. The rosemary toast is delicious. They only take cash but they do have an ATM if you space the cash. Avocado scramble is my favorite and if you have kids they have cute pancakes they make up with fruit and syrup. Update: Went back on a rainy Saturday morning 15 minute wait at noon. Ordered drinks and food together, got the drinks (coffee and chai) right before the food came out. The menu indicated that due to prop 12 the prices on pork would fluctuate. Seemed a little weird and political. I mean I would of rather just read the pork bought is humanely raised.
Food is consistently wonderful. After my first drive through visit I wanted to share how it works. All takeout orders are taken at the drive through. Drinks are the only thing showing on the drive through menu so check the menu online before you go. Place your order and pay at the window then drive around to the side of the restaurant where the entrance is. Park and then they will bring your food when it's ready. Enjoy!
Top notch!! The jalapeno scramble is a masterpiece, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The coffee is great! Our server was friendly and efficient. Their French toast and pancake creations look amazing though I didn't try one.
This is a great place to get a very tasty and healthy breakfast. I really enjoy their breakfast sandwich. They serve pretty decent coffee as well. It never seems to busy when I come but I also never come on the weekends. I've never had too long of a wait time. Just make sure you ask for what you want like straws and condiments because I've never had them offered. All in all, its a great place to eat in Chico.
It will be one of your new favorite spots. They even have a drive-thru! So many good things on the menu that it's hard to decide on what you want to eat. Best of all the dishes are different from anything you have had before, very original.
We had a late lunch of: Ranchero Verde and Pesto Quesadilla. Flavors were very exciting and good! We didn't leave a spec of leftovers on our plates. To finish off, we ordered breakfast for the next day. Cortez French Toast and the Naked Cakes with added blueberries. Our server Halee attended to us non-stop and made sure we were well taken care of.
Really good food, I had the dragon potatoes from the breakfast menu and would highly recommend it. They're only seating their patio so its very limited, hopefully they fix that soon. 5 stars for the food, the coffee looked great, but the seating is a 2.
Great food, great drinks. I get my food to go , so can't really speak to eating inside. Also I've noticed other reviews saying bland, sometimes people don't like shit overly seasoned. I think it's good and I've been coming here for past 17 years , I will continue to come to Sin.
Love their coffee drive-thru!! They are quick, kind and have great coffee.
One of Chicos best spots. Their breakfast sandwhich and French toast are my faves but everything is divine! They only take cash though, but they have an atmosphere inside.
I love this place! The service, the mood, the music, the food; its all spectacular. So grateful to have a place like this available in a world full of synthetic and fake foods. Keep up the great work! Thank you! Shout out to the cook line! You guys rock! Peace, light and love!
Had to wait 30 mins to get in, then it took about 30 mins for us to get our great food
Great Breakfast / Lunch spot. On Easter morning they were able to accommodate our large party of 18 for late breakfast, although they did need to split our party into 2 table sets that were next to each other, so not a problem. We arrived at about 11 am and they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. Wonderful service! If going for breakfast try the Cortez French Toast. It was great. My only caveat would be to ask for extra berry puree.
The food tastes amazing here, the owner is awesome and gave me some really great tips for my gluten intolerance! Would definitely recommend coming here
Tyler is an amazing server!! Incredible customer service and attention ❤️. He went above and beyond to help me navigate the menu and remembered my diet restrictions even when I ordered things that I didn’t know had dairy in them he remembered and came back and gave me some other options. Great customer service here and I am always well cared for,and the food is so flavorful and the coffee is the best in the world!
Sunday brunch, we had to wait outside for a table to become available. They had a nice area to wait with heaters, even that had great atmosphere. The servers and the patrons were all smiles. The menu had a lot to offer. I had a standard pancake and bacon breakfast (with a great cup of coffee) eggs cooked correctly. I know now that they have the basics down. My next visit I will have some difficulty deciding what to order.
Great place for Brunch, came last time we visited family here (over 7 years ago) and wanted to come back this time. It’s still great. The highlight were those potatoes, the Beef hash and pancakes. I love the aroma, the atmosphere is so amazing, I loved their dishes, their food is amazing you should try it out. You will not regret it but you will enjoy it. Have a blessed meal.
Possibly the best roast beef I have ever had! Way better than expected based on other experiences I've had elsewhere. 👏🏻
Extremely high quality food. The food at Sin is amazing. From the coffee, to the breakfast to the artisanal lunches, all the dishes are amazing. All of the ingredients are very fresh and of extremely high quality. The servers are very friendly and the service is amazing. The owner is local and a very nice person. They also have a drive through if you want to get a coffee or drink to go. If you are looking for an amazing local place, Sin of Cortez is a must try.
Sin of Cortez has lots of delicious options for drinks and food. My tamale breakfast was perfect. I also had a café latte. The Cafe latte was served in a drinking glass. I'm not a fan. I don't mind a glass mug. For hot beverages i prefer a cup or mug. My husband's regular coffee was good ,severed in a cup. Also CASH OR CHECK ONLY. There is a ATM in thr restaurant
We arrived right before the lunch rush and had our choice of seating. Plenty of parking in the adjacent lot. Facility was clean. The server was attentive at just the right times and we received our meal quickly. We got avocado scrambles with the included rosemary bread and potatoes. The entire meal was hot and tasted fantastic. The serving size was generous. The noise level was low enough it was easy to hold a conversation. Note they only accept cash or checks. There is an onsite ATM. We will return for another meal here.
Cash only restaurant - ATM on premises. We’re out of towners and a friend said this is a must go to spot. I really liked it here. The mimosas flight was huge and very good flavors. My coffee was picturesque! The pancakes I ordered were perfectly cooked as well. Our server was so sweet and patient as we are slow eaters and the restaurant was very busy. Definitely a place to check out.
My wife and I decided to have breakfast at Sin of Cortez, since it's been 5yrs since the last time. We knew what to expect going in...10-15 minute wait time, excellant coffee and a varied menu of breakfast items that reflected the establishment and its practices, both of which are stellar. The prices have been increased, however, but the food quality has remained the same. I ordered the "Dragon Potatoes" and my wife ordered the "Cortez French Toast"... both featured items when Guy Fieri visited with his TV show. NEVER a disappointment, piled high with the ingredients of potatoes, black beans, sour cream, cilantro, green onions, etc., while my wife had Her French Toast with the purees decorating the outside room of Her plate, requiring very little syrup and instead focusing on the natural flavors. The atmosphere is always pleasant and not too noisy, the coffee refills are offered almost every 5 minutes, and the waitstaff is knowledgeable about the entire menu. Again, a little pricey, but the food quality is unmatched in town. Everything is worth ordering, AND they have Gluten Sensitive/Vegetarian variants for those who are looking for different options. Please do NOT sleep on this restaurant... it's well-worth the price, the time, and the ambiance.
This place is SO good! I usually get the 2x2x2 with blackberry pancakes and it's delicious. It's pretty small inside but cozy. There's lots of natural light from all the windows which is cool. Sundays are fairly busy but it's still good service. Every time I've gone, the servers are all really nice. Just make sure that you bring cash because they don't take card payments still. Although, there is an atm available if needed. Overall this is a great place for breakfast, would definitely recommend! Update: We went back again today and it was good as always! Keep up the awesome work y'all!
If you are hungry, arrive early. The wait was about 35 minutes on a Sunday. Our waiter, Tanner was awesome. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the food and drink menu, he bussed our table along the way (no dirty dishes piled on the table) and was all around attentive. The food was delicious. We had a breakfast sandwich, hash n potatoes, and strawberries and cream pancakes. Pancakes were huge, moist and fluffy. The rosemary potatoes were a hit with everyone and I loved the rosemary toasted bread. The mimosa flight was just what we needed, being our 1st time there it made it easier to identify our favorite. They were all good but the Brazilian and the pomegranate ones were our favorite. The house mimosa is perfect if you're on a health kick (it has kale) The down side - cash or check only (there's an ATM w/ $2 fee inside), no Tabasco, and my Sunnyside up egg's yolk was almost completely cooked through. I'd definitely recommend you check it out.
The rosemary potatoes are really good, the mocha was also. The eggs were pretty good. The rosemary gs (gluten sensitive) toast and gs peach pancakes were very bland. My guest has celiac disease and we came here because Yelp said they had gluten free options. I appreciate that so much can be made gluten free, but the gluten free things we tried were not good :/
It's got a hipster vibe and is different than most breakfast places in Chico. You can appreciate the aesthetic appeal of the food and it tastes good too. Prices are fair and the staff is friendly. Not a huge place and typically busy! Good drinks and I'd recommend the pancakes with fresh fruit!
I really enjoy the food, but I never carry cash, so that's a bit of an inconvenience. It's also on the pricey side; ten bucks for a breakfast burrito. Granted, it's delicious, but it could be better constructed, with the ingredients distributed throughout rather than in pockets. Rosemary toast is scrumptious, and rosemary potatoes are quite good
Great food. Feels a bit too close to other guests seating when busy. Bring cash.
Seating is a bit cramped. Outside was not an option. Our server, Hayley (Hailey?) was awesome. Very attentive. I ordered the artichoke scramble, which was good. Rosemary is my favorite herb, but this place is rosemary everything and it's a bit much. Major demerits for not accepting plastic!
First time there. Our breakfast was very good. The menu was creative, unique and appealing. Much nicer than a standard breakfast offering. We don't drink coffee so can't say but had a Chai which we liked. Our waitress was very good, friendly and had a fun sense of humor; she was also helpful and I felt she really cared about us. Nice atmosphere and the decor was appealing. A little on the Pricier side but fine. Open 365! Til 2pm, no credit cards. We'll be going back.
The staff is very responsive to their patron's needs and are quick to get you that one other thing you need or your coffee refill. I had a great time, the food was delicious and the server I had was very courteous. My only complaint would be that their pair dining tables are bunched a tad too close together. I would go again but maybe get a tall table if I'm not with a group.
Good food, I ordered the dragon potatoes dish with a side of scrambled egg. It was good and filling, it came with one corn tortilla. Customer service was good, I just had to remind them for water refill. The only reason why I give it 3 stars is because they don't have spicy salsa, I had to order a side of jalapeños for a fee, my option was tapatio sauce. Note: They don't accept cards, cash or check only. They have an ATM that you can get cash out for a fee.
Had a very yummy breakfast, although very pricey. Tried the Dragon Potatoes and it was really good, however, I left with a stuffy nose that started happening (I have a dairy allergy). Not sure if they were cooked in butter or my soy chai latte had some dairy in it. Unsure. I did like that the restaurant was gluten sensitive since I have a problem with gluten, BUT no gf/df breads or pancakes 😔. Our server was very kind and attentive.
I went here for a friends birthday breakfast and was a bit disappointed. The service here was really just not that great. Our server, Shannon, was unhelpful when it came to questions on the menu and failed to tell us that it was cash and check only until the very end when we finished eating food. The only way to know this was the small unnoticeable sign when you walked in. This was frustrating since the atm they had for customers had a withdrawal fee. The food was pretty good which made up for this frustrating experience but overall I was disappointing dining here.
I had the Cortez French toast ($17)and rosemary potatoes($6) and small orange juice ($5.25). The rosemary potatoes were very bland , I had to add salt twice to enhance the flavor. The French toast was underwhelming, the flavor was just normal, nothing exceptional or special about it. For the price you would expect better and for the flavor you could go to any restaurant and get the same or better. I guess I can say I tried it, but it won't be on my list of favorite places.
I don't know about this place yet. It was a decent brunch and the staff was friendly. No wait was nice as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the coffee they served me. I asked for a little bit added to my coffee and I get a tall glass that is covered in whip cream. There in-house whip cream was good, but I would have perfered a simple coffee cup. Seriously, they should make their own cups.
I tried eating here today for the first time. I wasn’t impressed. The sausage had hard little pieces of bones that hurt my molar when I chewed. The bread had a sour moldy taste. They don’t accept credit cards, but have an atm that charges you $3 to withdraw. When I gave them my money to pay, the woman asked if I wanted her to break the five dollar bill so I can leave a tip. I’ve never directly been asked a question like that in regards to tipping a waitress. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back here.
Bring cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted. It's been awhile — back in the day I hit them up when they first opened on Nord Avenue and liked the food and the mochas. I was stoked to see they were still in Chico and had moved out to Esplanade. Some other changes — the menu is MUCH easier to read, the logo has been updated, and I don't think they are getting their coffee from the roaster down in San Diego anymore. They still do a great cook on breakfast potatoes. That being said I was bored with the "Dragon Potatoes". It read really nice — slow-roasted carnitas (tender, fat rendered nicely), crispy rosemary potatoes (perfect), black beans, jack cheese, jalapenos (not many), sour cream (decent amount), avocado sauce (not much), cilantro and Roma tomatoes. Get some drizzle bottles and kick up the seasoning a bit. Also, the cornmeal pancakes ran a bit dry so as much as I want to love Sin of Cortez (service was great, venue was nice, parking good) the food didn't do it for me and the house coffee did not encourage going back for a refill.
I had the chicken salad sandwich, and it tasted fine just lacked flavor. The chicken was choped up like it was made for a salad. The bread was burned it kind of crumbled when I picked it up. But on the upside the waiters were nice and the room felt welcoming yet a but messy. One big downside is they don't accept card only cash and check.
The food was great, but there was no sign or communication indicating that this place is cash only until after we ate. It put me in a tough spot, especially since I was on a business trip.
I tried this place again today. Not sure why but I went for the chicken torta. Mistake. It was a giant pile of gloppy goop in between two giant buns. As soon as I tried to life it up to take a bit it fell apart. Im not sure what they did, or why, but all the ingredients were just melted together, and the chicken was chopped up like chicken salad. There was no single identifiable ingredients besides 2 buns and mexican flavored slop. I asked for water with no ice, they gave me ice. Also not sure why you have employees standing around gossiping about random stuff. Especially a shorter darker hair woman was bossing people around. How about someone ask the customers how their food is? I saw one guy he had to waive down a waitress twice to get the bill. Finally why do I get 3 different servers? It makes me not want to tip, bc the service was not good to great depending on the employee. So who gets the tip, all of them? No, none. Overpriced and a little egotrip vibe.
Not what I was expecting. If you want to pay $20 for pancakes that aren't anything special, you'd like this place. It wasn't for me.
Leave if your waitress is girl with long blonde hair and nose piercing, name starts with an S, terrible super rude wouldn’t even acknowledge the table when she took order or dropped drinks off
Waited 10 mins and they only had bar seating which was fine. It was very cramped indoors and there was no outdoor seating. Food was OK. I ordered the Breakfast Tamales. They were good, but the side "Black Beans and Scrambled Eggs" were not seasoned. They were topped with thickly cut tomatoes, cheap Jack cheese, sour cream and cilantro. The cilantro was more so decorative b/c it was not cut up. Lastly, when we went to pay they informed us they only accepted cash or check. AFTER we had already sat & ate. We were forced to use their ATM w/ a $2.00 fee. Overall, not a great experience and I will not be going back.
I had better more flavorful Mexican food in London. The meal here is composed of a small portion of what you read in the menu sitting upon a mound of black beans. Most of the the dish is black beans that seems like they just dumped from a can onto the plate then add egg on top. Then they only take cash. However, their French toast was good. I wouldn’t go again though
The food is incredibly lackluster. The eggs were overcooked and tasted the way wet dog smells, the potatoes were tough and seasoned with nothing but overpowering rosemary. The bread tastes like crusty flower with, again, way too much rosemary. The coffee tasted a little sour and burned. Our server was excellent, though. Very attentive and fun! The food also came out quick. If in Chico, go to Mom's, or even Cozy Diner for breakfast.
Staff was nice but food wasn't so good and wayyyyyy to expensive for the quality of food
Will have to give it another chance and order something different. Do not go here expecting Mexican food. It’s a cafe that specializes in coffee drinks and sweet pastries type breakfast. What I ordered consisted of a tortilla slapped on a plate with canned beans poured on it a little tiny bit of cheese another tortilla and then drowned that in bottled green sauce and 2 undercooked eggs thrown on top with a glob of sour cream and 2 tiny slivers of avocado. No flavoring. It was pretty terrible and I paid close to $20 for it.. severely unimpressed.
With the pandemic going on, i understand the safety measures that we have to practice . Our fist time to eat here and i must say that we decided we wont ever come to this place again. They only give 1 menu per table which i think is not cool. Servers are really not warm like snobbish people. Outside dining area is just too close to each other . Food is ok not even that good. Restroom is not even that well kept. So no thanks not ever going to come back here again.
Food was average and they shorted my change, but I didn't count it til I was in my car. They stole 20 dollars from me is where I am going with this. It was over crowded and too loud. They should just make people wait to be seated.
They are only open until 2pm daily and only serve lunch Monday-Friday and breakfast daily. The food was extremely bland, I had the blueberry corn cakes with a side of bacon, my husband had the breakfast sandwich (scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado, Roma tomatoes on rosemary bread) with rosemary potatoes, and a side of bacon. Despite how seasoned all of that sounds, it was totally bland (no flavor). For drinks we ordered blended frape (it was ok), mexican hot chocolate (it was good) and a "bowl of soul" (chamomile tea with vanilla cream, whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate, and dusted with chocolate) in my opinion it would have been better as just a cup of chamomile. Out of everything the only thing I like was the bacon and hot chocolate. Now cleanliness...they allow pets in the restaurant and the waiting area (which is openly a joined to the eating area) rug was filthy and covered in dog hair. While we were eating I dropped my sweater on the floor and when I picked it up it had dog hair on it.
Do not eat here. Very overpriced, cash only. $90 for basic breakfast for 3 people. There are so many breakfast places in Chico with better food, cheaper prices, and nice management, go there instead.
Waited a hr for my food. Got my food was terrible. My plate taste like I was eating a cilantro plant. Came home just to sit on the toilet. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Moms is by far better. They also use cheap orange juice. Prices were also outrageous and nothing comes with meat. You have to pay extra.
Absolutely awful customer service. I was treated rudely by two servers and the manager over the course of two days and two different attempts to buy coffee. It is this company's policy to put their customers safety at risk. Any customers requesting to go orders are required to walk through the drive through line with cars. This is not safe to do. Additionally they make customers wait outside in 40 degrees weather after paying for their order. I asked the manager about this policy and was told they "make people stand outside even if it's raining" that's a direct quote. Not, they ask customers, no they make customers. I asked why I couldn't wait inside and I was told they don't allow people to create gatherings. I was a party of one, I do not meet the legal discription of a gathering. I insisted that it was freezing and asked how long I should wait outside until my order was ready and the manager walked away without acknowledging my question. Very insulting behavior. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone at all. And if I could figure out how to contact the owner I would beg them to reconsider their policies that risk their customers safety. I can't imagine that their insurance company approved this practice. I repeat absolutely AWFUL customer service. They are also cash only, this indicates to me that this is purely a money laundering front, very sus. Despite the terrible customer service and other dangerous and suspicious policies, the coffee was good and I'm sorry I won't be walking over from the office every day for another cup. Please consider your customers safety when creating company policy.
Called ahead to try and get placed on list. Was told that there was no wait and restaurant was not busy. After arriving six minutes later only to find that every outdoor seating was filled where patrons had been eating more than six minutes. After arriving to find out there was a line of four couples waiting in line. Once being sat down waited over twenty five minutes for my breakfast to be prepared and brought out. No one bothered to share with me what was going on with my meal. Very sad and upsetting to not be enjoy my meal.
Don’t take children here. Don’t take senior citizens here. Only men that the staff can flirt with and berate/harass is all that’s allowed to eat there. She kept coming by talking over us repeatedly. Rudely interjecting nonsense and fake laughs. Dissappears. Than kicks out a couple with a kid seated behind us. Whom, mind you, were making 0 noise. Saying that “other patrons complained”. We were exuberantly loud, and no other customers in the restaurant besides us and this family. After it got quiet again, we asked for our check and I personally asked to speak to the manager. Guess who the hell it is!? The flirt who kicked out the kid, is the manager. Yall need new mamagement badly.
Definitely falls under the "dives" category of diners drive INS and dives. It is a "Sin" to call this anything other than just completely disappointing. Service was mediocre at best. The food was unseasoned to the extent that I have to question whoever is running that kitchen "have you heard of this marvelous discovery called salt?" The drinks were gimmicky but poor quality. Overall this is definitely a skip and won't be returning.
I ordered huevos rancheros but they were just bad. They come with flour tortillas instead of corn, the beans were barely warm and straight from a can. Just sad. Coffee was mediocre and restaurant is cash only which wait staff failed to mention before we ordered. Avoid.
The atmosphere of the place will absolutely trick you into thinking you will have a good time, but when you get the bill and see all your hidden fees for this subpar food with absolutely no flavor you will rethink your choices. I have never left a place more disappointed than when I came in. I should’ve just waited 20 minutes for a place at the tried and true deja vu cafe. If only my server would have let me know that my eggs were gonna cost $5 extra, and got forbid you ask for jam they will charge you. We actually received our bill, then asked for the jam because the food was so flavorless and they forgot to bring it to us when we first asked, so she printed a new receipt just to add the $1 purée that took her 20 minutes to bring us. I left this place with a heavy heart, I strongly advise against dining here if you want to have a good day.
Small, sat by kitchen. Ordered roast beef hash came with big chunks of tough beef. Tamale breakfast also was just the corn maze. At the end of the meal we were informed they can only take cash or check. This restaurant was not for me.
