Gogi's Cafe Chico Reviews
I had such a great experience at Gogi Cafe! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly and attentive. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything they do. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family!
Staff was so helpful as I am gluten&dairy free! Lots of options for both here,as well as vegetarian! Cute place and clean, food was tasty and flavorful, good spices!
Gogi’s cafe is a block or two away from Chico’s state university in downtown and offer variety of south Asian cuisine dishes from veg to non veg. You can have your entree with rice or with Naan. Prices are between $9 to $13 per entree. They also offer cool appetizers like Samosas, chaat, bhelpuri and garlic fries. We tried chicken tikka masala, paalak paneer, basil lamb and lamb masala. It’s a family oriented place with a decent dine area and sales is based on university business. Taste could be better but ok. Easy check in and order food at the counter. It’s very close to freeway so hop in if you are driving around chico or live in town.
Absolutely in love with this place. The vegan naan is everything I’ve ever wanted. Th eh have the best samosas and the coconut rice is so worth the upgrade.
Only second time going their but super tasty both times. We got both the garlic and cheese naan and unable to decide which is better. Would def recommend.
Enjoyed a fireside seat while dining here today, had the Tandoori Chicken plate!

(This is from pver a yeat ago) We drove 1.5 hours to see if Chico had any vegan food. Gogi's Cafe was 100% worth the drive, and we will definitely be coming back. This was easily the best Indian food we've had in a very long time. The owners were so sweet and welcoming. It was a treat to chat with them as they were closing up. They have a great variety of vegan options, and they also have a buffet on Saturdays!
This place never disappoints! I've been going here for nearly 10 years and Gogi's is a true Chico gem. The portions are very good size and I love getting the combo. The samosas are amazing! Also, friendliest staff ever!
We’ve been regulars for years! Exceptional hosts and exceptional food! We live in Oregon now and dine at Gogi’s whenever we’re in town. We do miss our weekly dinners/lunches there.
I did not eat here. At my work we have a group of about 10 trainees who stopped at the bus station near this place. We had a 15 minute break. Almost all of my co workers went in and used the bathroom. I thought it was pretty rude because no one ordered food. But the guy was super nice and didn’t say anything. The food smelled good. If I had more time I would have for sure bought some. Next time I’m around Chico I will for sure
My office had a 12-person luncheon catered by Gogi's Cafe and we really enjoyed it. I asked everything to be labeled, and they kindly accommodated. There's something on the menu for everyone, from vegan to celiac and meat eaters too. All gave two thumbs up. Co-owner Vinay gave excellent service and took our order through email. We'll definitely consider them again for future office luncheons. Delicious and convenient. Thank you!
The best authentic north indian restaurant in chico. Better than other indian restaurants around give them a try trust me they have best indian food.
My favorite place in Chico! I come here all the time :)
Everything was excellent especially the Korma. With the limited summer menu, we ended ordering "A La- Carte (Lamb Korma)", and sauteed vegetables. They were able to accommodate a restrictive diet of no sugar or carbs. With no outside tables, we ended up going over to the campus and eating on the lawn with the doggo.

I decided to stop by this Indian restaurant for the first time today since I’d never been there and wanted to give it a try. They had an entrée-style setup, so I asked if I could get a sample before choosing, but the lady behind the counter said they don’t offer samples. That threw me off a bit since I’ve been to other Indian restaurants with a similar setup that do allow sampling before ordering. I then looked over the menu and was hoping to try fish pakora, but I was told they don’t serve any seafood at all — which surprised me because Indian cuisine usually has great fish dishes. I also asked if they had goat (since I personally prefer it over lamb), and her reaction felt a bit uncomfortable. She said to call in ahead to ask, but I was already there and hoping to dine in. Overall, the experience just didn’t feel welcoming, and since there were no other customers in the restaurant, I decided to leave and go to another local spot. I really wanted to support a small business and try something new, but unfortunately, this visit wasn’t the best first impression.

The service was good, when I got the food I was honestly upset about the size of the plate, I payed 30 bucks for a plate and a chai tea. The plate was really small and it upset me when I ordered it for my family. The food tasted a bit bad and we couldn't finish it because Tikka masala tastes like microwaved chilli dogs. Sorry but it was really disappointing.
Found hair in food, everything i order is expired i call them and lady showing me her attitude instead of saying sorry feeling sick after eating

Some of the people reviewing this restaurant really shouldn't be having an opinion about things. This place serves some of the worst Indian food I've ever eaten. Very bland, oily, soggy/overdone, expensive. There's no pride of ownership with this place. The food is so white-washed and far from the real thing that I'm sure the business owners don't eat their own food that they serve to the public. Literally the same price as Priya during lunch time buffet. What are you people thinking???
The people were very nice but gosh the food was just terrible. Indian food is a favorite of mine and I've had disappointing meals before elsewhere but this was truly the worst. Hate to say it but save yourself from wasting the money. It shouldn't be so easy to mess up chicken Tikka masala
I visited this restaurant recently, and I was very disappointed. The staff was rude, the prices were too high, and the place was not clean at all. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone I visited this restaurant this morning and bought something. When I mentioned that another place sells the same item for two dollars less, the man got very rude. He threw the money in front of my face and told me to leave and go there instead. That’s not the right way to treat a customer. Very disappointing experience, and I will not be coming back
