The Redwood Sandwich Co. Chico Reviews
Was craving some Indian food and Curry Up Now hit right just as I needed. The ingredients are good quality and the service was real friendly as the staff made suggestions for what I was looking for. I enjoyed one of the larger plates and walked out feeling great, a good but not heavy full. Might even go back again tomorrow it was so good.
I love all the burritos. This time I tried the naughty naan with chicken. Very tasty and the chicken was not dry. The carmelized onions were delicious and balanced out the heat. My only disappointment is the white wine here. Warm. Sour. We should have known not to order wine at an Indian place.
so delicious! this heart burrito bursts with flavor and I loved every bite of it. the service as well was very good and having free chai and cookies were a great waiting snack, very gracious to give my friend some too even tho he didn't purchase anything. love coming here and look forward to eating again
Fun vibe, friendly service, and huge menu of tasty food and drinks. Great for groups and casual dates. We easily found space for 8 on a Friday night around 9pm. We enjoyed the vada pav, papdi chaat, deconstructed samosas, ghee butter makhni paneer, death by the tikka masala, and house made mango lassi.
First time trying them out and I can honestly say the food is delicious. 🙌🏾 I order the Meat Sweat Thali. I choose to have mine with the tumeric rice and the flour naan. They have plenty of vegan options as well as cauli rice. I ordered mine to go and it was all ready in less then 5 minutes. Very cozy environment if you are interested in eating in. They also have a nice bar and delicious drink options. Need an event catered don't worry they also have a variety of choices available for catering. For families they have family entree's to choose from as well as a kids menu complete with chicken tenders for those picky eaters. Definitely worth a visit. Update went back this am for more. I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala rice plate and the Chicken Kadhai rice plate to go. Came with free Chai. Delicious 😋
Had a great experience here. People were very nice and friendly, helped out with our dishes and knifes etc. Food was really tasty. Speaking from an Indian perspective, the spices were on point. The fried idli was amazing! It had me reach for my water. Yelp had a free chai/lemonade offer once you checked in. Chai was a little strongly spiced though. Will definitely come back for more.
Curry Up Now is a fun and flavorful spot for Indian street food in San Francisco. The menu is creative, blending traditional Indian flavors with a modern twist. The mini samosas are always a highlight. Service is fast and friendly, making it a great place for a quick, satisfying meal. Overall, a lively spot with tasty food that’s perfect for casual dining.
Delish Indian food with an American twist/fusion. The names of the dishes aren't quite your typical names, but are very clever, appealing, and amusing! The Sexy Fries, Naughty Naan, Holy Moly Fried Ravioli, and The Hella Vegan Bowl or Burrito are 100% unique, original, and a perfect example of their culinary creativity! They are definitely a staple in the community with their signature dishes that are authentic, iconic, and traditional, with a modern day, reimagined twist!
Today’s lunch spot was chosen by my friend and her friend to meet at and catch up. If you can’t tell by the pictures and name, this place is a quirky Mexican-Indian fusion restaurant tailored for a social media aesthetic. I ordered the lamb burrito on flour tortilla. Regarding the food, the burrito is a large portion size. It’s quite filling so it’ll likely leave you satisfied. The lamb was tender with a bit of a kick. The rice and chickpeas were also very flavorful. The only reason I give 4/5 stars is because I’ve had better Indian food elsewhere. It’s lacking relative to other restaurants, but still objectively good I think. The atmosphere is pretty nice; there’s music playing and large windows with a view of the street. The table and environment are pleasant and conducive to long post-meal conversations. Overall, the restaurant’s atmosphere, service, and food are good; it’s a pleasant experience eating here. However, if I’m back in San Francisco, I don’t think I’d choose this place over trying new restaurants.
As an Indian I am just being a little more harsh with my rating but the food was great and would definitely go back. We got the thali and it was pretty filling. Everything was very well seasoned and not spicy, so you don’t have to worry about spice if you can’t tolerate Indian spice levels. I have definitely had better Indian food but their menu is pretty interesting. The ambience is really good too and service was pretty quick.
We had really nice lunch here. The food is really good with options for all, especially vegetarians and vegans. Good number of starters and main course make it a perfect place for any meal of the day. We really liked the ambience too. Best dishes from the Menu: Kathi Roll and deconstructed samosa.
If you're looking for authentic Indian food, this might be a notch below it but still good in its own right. the Sexy Fries weren't sexy at all, not a fan of soft potatoes on top of sweet potato fries. I was hoping for some contrast in the flavors of the meals in general. Overall just OK if you're looking for something new to try.
About the Indian Restaurant: My experience at this Indian restaurant was nothing short of disappointing. While the lively ambiance, adorned with paintings on the walls, initially caught my eye, the overall taste left much to be desired. The place seemed promising but fell flat in execution. About the Food: The hakka noodles were rather lackluster, failing to impress in any way. The samosa chat, which I was looking forward to, turned out to be a major disappointment. Among the dishes, the dessert daal halwa was the only saving grace, offering a decent flavor. The lackluster taste across multiple dishes left me feeling very disappointed. The experience was far from satisfactory, and I can't help but give this Indian restaurant a two-star rating.
