You can just taste the love in their food and salsas sooo much flavor! Will be back for a second dose of them carne asada fries. Beats Lolita’s any day! Oh and the owners are so friendly! 🥰🥰 (Got 1/2 carne asada fries)
My absolute FAVORITE taco shop in North Park. This Breakfast Machaca burrito is 🔥🔥🔥. Bobby and his family have been here over 25 years and I’ve been a loyal customer since 2001 when I moved into the neighborhood. Robert is very friendly and he even offered us free chips. The love they put into every dish is evident, making it far from your typical fast-food Mexican joint. Favorites include the Fish Burrito, Surf and Turf burrito, fish tacos, and the chicken enchiladas, which are generously filled and packed with flavor. The fish burrito (made with tilapia) is light and fresh, and the option to choose grilled or breaded fish is a rare treat. The crispy tortilla and bold flavors elevate the experience. Service is impressively fast--orders are often ready well before the estimated time--and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is clean, well-decorated, and has a friendly, community vibe where regulars are remembered and warmly greeted. Whether dining in or ordering delivery, Ray's offers a consistently delightful experience. The horchata is a great add-on, and the atmosphere makes you want to return again and again. We will come here soon again with my whole family.
I’ve been going here for years and the reason is the food is amazing and always consistent, I crave this spot/ paired with some of the best customer service and care I’ve ever had! Robert Bahrami and Mehri Bahrami and son Adonis Bahrami — are so appreciative of their customers and they show it through their love of food and pleasing all who enter or call! I’ve gone to too many places, multiple times - but here I’m remembered and I’m always greeted with such an awesome family owned business environment and it just makes me smile to go here/ order delivery here. Literally the best breakfast burrito of my life. The place feels cozy and authentic, while maintaining excellent food, service, and cleanliness. I got the beef breakfast burrito. It has some serious heft and the big hot sauce bottles are delicious and an awesome touch. You will not leave hungry.
I am a burrito fanatic, and lately I have been let down, but this place finally has a freaking good California burrito! And the best price on the street also… I’m telling you, we finally found a great burrito spot!
A lot of my favorite burrito spots in SD have increased costs while the quality of the food has declined. I'm happy that this place is still REASONABLE and tastes FRESH and delicious every time. We always get their chicken soup and veggie burritos (add French fries!). SO GOOD.
Ordered from here via Grub Hub on Christmas Eve for a party of 5. Grub Hub driver picked up the wrong order, with enough food for 3. Grub Hub refunded me and also took the charge away from the restaurant. It was not the restaurants fault. When we tired to pay for the food directly to the restaurant, they said "mistakes happen" and would not accept payment. Food was great and service is exceptional.
been coming here for years now and they are one of my top recommendations in a city filled with amazing Mexican food. the man who always works the front counter is always such a pleasure and always delivers excellent service. my go to items are the pozole, breakfast burritos, enchiladas, and the huevos rancheros. very very good food at very great prices!
Rays is consistently awesome. Every burrito they have is fire. They are quick and affordable and everyone is so nice and the order is perfect every time.

Been coming to this spot for like 15 years now! Awesome vegetarian options here. Potato rolled tacos are excellent, and the Potato+cauliflower & broccoli burrito is amazing as well. They offer Free local delivery over 25$ in the neighborhood if you call it in, and the owner dropped it off personally. How cool is that!! Every time I go in, he always remembers me and is super friendly.
Owners were wonderfully nice, and food was great. Especially good value for money. We had a group come in close to close and they graciously allowed us to eat and hang for a bit.
Hidden gem in north park. One of the best taco joints in San Diego. The owner is the nicest man ever the service is always amazing and the food is always so fresh and delicious. Best of the city!
The food was great. Tried their chilaquiles and California burrito. The chilaquiles' sauce was nice and savory and the rice and beans were flavorful. California burrito was a perfect mix of fried, carne asada and pico de gallo. I tried it with their red and green salsa and it just made the burrito even better. I was going back and forth on the sauces while i ate it. We were even thinking of getting something else to go to try later. Great food! Would definitely come back!
Great Food. Super yummy. Cali burrito is best here!! And pricing is better than most places. Parking is tough, but worth it. Ray is usually there, very kind, friendly, as well as his wife. Always good to go here.
This is North Park and there are many "Mexican" restaurants. I have a new favorite, and it is Ray's. I went for the first time today, and had Menudo - a Sunday brunch staple. What made the experience a 5 star event was Ray. He is joyful and generous and his smile is contagious. His laughter and kindness permeate the restaurant. A great experience, we will be back!
Loved this place, amazing service with excellent food. The owner really takes care of the locals and makes sure to take the time to personally take care of everyone in the restaurant. It was my first time going to the place and since he heard I just moved to the neighbourhood he told me it was on the house! A few moments later while I was eating another couple that hadn’t come there in years whose kids were all grown up since the last time they came walked in. He remembered them and let them eat on the house as well! Overall one of the best places to eat with excellent standards all around, definitely recommend checking it out.
