Bobby and his family have been here over 25 years and I’ve been a loyal customer since 2001 when I moved into the neighborhood. Ray's Mexican Restaurant is a hidden gem that delivers quality, flavor, and heart. Run by a warm and welcoming family--Robert, Mehri, and their son Adonis Bahrami--this spot stands out for its fresh ingredients and homemade feel. Robert is very friendly and he even offered us free chips. The love they put into every dish is evident, making it far from your typical fast-food Mexican joint. Favorites include the Fish Burrito, Surf and Turf burrito, fish tacos, and the chicken enchiladas, which are generously filled and packed with flavor. The fish burrito (made with tilapia) is light and fresh, and the option to choose grilled or breaded fish is a rare treat. The crispy tortilla and bold flavors elevate the experience. Service is impressively fast--orders are often ready well before the estimated time--and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is clean, well-decorated, and has a friendly, community vibe where regulars are remembered and warmly greeted. Whether dining in or ordering delivery, Ray's offers a consistently delightful experience. The horchata is a great add-on, and the atmosphere makes you want to return again and again. We will come here soon again with my whole family.

I’ve been going here for years and the reason is the food is amazing and always consistent, I crave this spot/ paired with some of the best customer service and care I’ve ever had! Robert Bahrami and Mehri Bahrami and son Adonis Bahrami — are so appreciative of their customers and they show it through their love of food and pleasing all who enter or call! I’ve gone to too many places, multiple times - but here I’m remembered and I’m always greeted with such an awesome family owned business environment and it just makes me smile to go here/ order delivery here. Literally the best breakfast burrito of my life. The place feels cozy and authentic, while maintaining excellent food, service, and cleanliness. I got the beef breakfast burrito. It has some serious heft and the big hot sauce bottles are delicious and an awesome touch. You will not leave hungry.

A lot of my favorite burrito spots in SD have increased costs while the quality of the food has declined. I'm happy that this place is still REASONABLE and tastes FRESH and delicious every time. We always get their chicken soup and veggie burritos (add French fries!). SO GOOD.

Ordered from here via Grub Hub on Christmas Eve for a party of 5. Grub Hub driver picked up the wrong order, with enough food for 3. Grub Hub refunded me and also took the charge away from the restaurant. It was not the restaurants fault. When we tired to pay for the food directly to the restaurant, they said "mistakes happen" and would not accept payment. Food was great and service is exceptional.
