Postmark Cincinnati Reviews
Excellent service. Very upmarket food. Very nice ambiance.
Perfect special case occasion place. Perfect date night place. Fantastic food. Wonderful service. Already planning our next visit.
Owned and run by the fine folks from Red Feather. They are really hitting their stride. The food is fabulous and very creative.
Great New American food - enjoyed the Halibut and the prosciutto salad. Friendly staff and good vibe.
Woah! Postmark was a nice surprise. I was expecting a good meal going in, instead I got a fantastic one. The boar was perfection.
Great food w a emphasis on quality local ingredients. Make sure to visit the wine room
Great food, great service! Awesome hidden gem in Clifton with cool, knowledgeable staff
Never had a bad experience, my favorite Cincinnati restaurant. Please re-open soon!
Spectacular brunch! Maybe the best I've had anywhere in Cincinnati. Two thumbs up.
Gorgeous plates, amazing service, and ij will definitely be going back for another visit!!!
Great food and great service! Awesome wine list!
My favorite restaurant. I've never had a bad experience here.
Wonderful atmosphere, very knowledgeable staff and amazing cuisine.
Postmark is a special delivery. Seriously fine cooking. Bravo!
Fanstatoc dining experience... Amazing staff and delicious menu!!
No wait, good Cuisine, great service.
This place is a gem. I actually feel bad that a place as good as this was not packed to the brim on Friday night. The service was attentive, polite and just perfect. The appetizer was divine, a burst of flavor, texture and delight. What a way to start. Can they do better? The poached pear salad was the best salad I have probably ever had. Amazing presentation and taste Finally our main course lived up to our own built up hype after the first 2 courses. We have just returned from Paris and I have to admit. This was as good as the places we had been amazed by there. Thumbs up indeed.
Most underrated restaurant in Cincinnati. The menu is creative and diverse and the wine list is extensive and hits a variety of price points. The service is exceptional, and the staff has great knowledge of wine without being pretentious. I'll definitely be going back...and don't forget to try the oysters!
The food here is exquisite. They have great cocktails to start, and a great wine selection. Plus they have real expertise to back it up, recommending great wines to go with their food, highlighting what's new or special. You can get a steak, of course, and it's good, but they really shine when you get a little deeper into the subtleties of their menu. Putting together a few small plates is always a good idea, and save room for dessert. Once, I had their fois gras for dessert, and that was not a bad decision.
Fabulous service and food! The server knew the best food and how to read the customer. The soup he recommended wasn't on the menu. The presentation is perfection with a mastery of flavor and texture. Highly recommend this place if your looking for fine dining.
The restaurant has a very intimate atmosphere which makes it perfect for a romantic dinner. The service was absolutely excellent and was only surpassed by the amazing dishes on the menu. Recommend getting the truffle gnocchi and the chowder soup!
We live in the neighborhood and have been here a few times as a splurge, and also just for drinks! I can not say enough good things about Postmark. The food quality and menu is outstanding, as is the wine selection! It is very much worth the splurge.
Texan visiting: This is the most delicious ice cream ever, wow!! The service is excellent, but prepare yourself for a bit of a wait. (IT IS WORTH IT!) I tried the buckeye flavor and wow! I cannot say enough good things!
Have been to Postmark on a few different occasions. Every time we have had the pleasure of unique seasonal specials or additions to the menu, needless to say, everything is fantastic. If you want to go for a special occasion, then you have the opportunity to spend some time and do the full 4-5 course spread (frutti di mare, salad, pasta, entree, desert or cheese plate). If you pick out a nice bottle of wine they take you into the wine room where you can sample the bottle with freshly sliced jamon iberico (cured ham) and cheeses. However if your seeing a movie or bumming around Clifton you can also stop in for a couple small plates and a glass of wine (extensive wine list) and pop in at the bar during the week. Sunday brunch can not be missed!
A sophisticated yet warm decor. A welcoming staff friendly knowledgeable staff. A small but spot on by the glass wine selection. A small perfect satisfying intriguing menu. Complex. Alluring. Delicious.
Stop and had a great dinner wine and hors d'oeuvres at the postmark! Stopped and had a great dinner wine and orders at the post marks! What a great evening before going to see pure Prairie league at the Ludlow garage in Cincinnati!
Great food. Amazing specials. Extensive wine list. A must try before it is discovered and getting a reservation too difgicult.....
This restaurant was charming, service impeccable, she was very knowledgeable about wine and menu! I will definitely be back soon!
I have eaten here several times and the food had been fantastic every time. And the service matched the food. Very well done.
REALLY comfortable, great menu, really SUPER nice cocktails. Definitely recommend
Food was great, high quality! We waited for quite a while for the food, but the service was great otherwise.
Great food. Fabulous service. For us...verloud and hard to maintain conversation.
We had a wonderful meal. Service was good too
Came here for the first time recently and really enjoyed the restaurant. The food was really good and well portioned, which allow you to have several different courses. The cocktails were good as well. The service was attentive and helpful in explaining the menu, which is always a plus. This is kind of a hidden gem in the Clifton area and I look forward to returning in the future.
Very good meal with strong flavor combinations. The waiter insisted we flow through the menu however each dish tasted very similar consisting of pumpkin or sweet potato. We love both those flavors but as you went across several courses it got a bit flat. Wait staff was stiff and had no personality. Knew the menu ok but didn’t add much other value. A good new restaurant in town but could improve to really be a top place in the market
It is a nice restaurant. We enjoy the excellent service and the good food. however I wish their current menu was a little more imaginative. It felt like a lot of commonalities between the dishes which made three choices seem like one
Very good food. Beware the appetizer options. Our server did not state price, and we wound up paying a surprising $28 charge for one of them.
Leisurely dinner on a Sunday night over the course of 2+ hours. Good food, creative menu. Small portions. It was good, but not enough to justify the high prices.
Expensive for the food. Honestly, you can find way better food and ambience for a cheaper price tag!
Good food, friendly service but slow.
I came to Postmark last night with my father and sister for a lovely fine dining experience. All three of us are in the restaurant industry so we know what fine dining is - and Postmark missed the mark. Although the food was very good (my Dad is the chef - he gave it four stars), the service was on par with eating at a TGI FRIDAYS - mediocre at best. There was no nuance, we waited over 30 minutes between courses with zero apology, and our server was knowledgeable but not friendly or in tune with our energy at the table. All in all, if Postmark wants to stick around in Clifton, either the servers need to be retrained to provide a proper fine dining experience, or $10-$15 should be knocked off each item on the menu.
Good food but for price expected excellent. Aesthetic put before comfort (very loud). Waitress was pretty blase about the menu.
Very small portion for a brunch. Server was stiff.
The food and service were both excellent BUT the prices are atrocious. $14 for a Manhattan, $12 for literally 4 fork swirls of pasta! Total bill, including tip (18 percent) for two with two drinks for me and a glass of ordinary prosecco for my wife was $195.00. I reluctantly pay that in NYC and SF but I suspect the rent in Clifton is a tad less than in those cities. I hate feeling "taken". I will be happy to go back because it was very good but only if someone else is paying.
We went on a busy Saturday night with another couple to celebrate the husbands' birthdays. We anticipated a great meal based on reviews. Got off to a good start with decent cocktails and the charcuterie was good although not much besides meat and mustard. Only 4 pickle slices and a tiny piece of cauliflower. The foie gras was super but the hors d'oeuvres we're only so so. Then the wheels came off. It got busier, nosy, they had no gnocchi. The couple next to us were too tired of waiting and left in disgust. Didn't have the wine we ordered and substituted a decent Sancerre but still charged the initial amount $75. My tortellini were tough and came in a cold broth., The lobster bisque was so salty my husband couldn't eat it. Next my main course halibut was raw and my husband's salmon mushy. Back to kitchen and halibut still not done properly. The service was slow, she forgot spoons, my soda since I was the designated driver, didn't replace spilled cocktail because of large seam in tablecloth. Then the bill comes. She did remove the tortellini and lobster bisque but left on the gnocchi they didn't even have! Then they charged $ 3.50 for each soda refill without ever mentioning they charge for refills, not a common cutom in Cincinnati. We will not be going back. A big disappointment and an expensive night with no special attention to the birthdays despite my having made a point to mention when I made the reservations.
Very disappointing. We have NEVER been to a restaurant where we could not order hors d'oeuvres before the meal…it seems the "Chef" REQUIRES all courses be ordered simultaneously. That's ridiculous. After we received the meager hors d'oeuvres we asked about an order of bread but even bread requires requires a 10 minute pre-order. The bottom line is the hors d'oeuvres, first, second and third courses are all tiny. My wife and I ordered two hors d'oeuvres, two intros, two salads and then we shared a "third" course BUT if it hadn't been for the two deserts (we were luckilly able to order after the meal( we would have left hungry. Net/Net: the portions were tasty but petite and very expensive (aka overpriced). The best part of the meal were the deserts...thank goodness but $140 for two people was ludicrous. My wife ordered asparagus, I ordered the sweetbreads, we both had the bibb salads and then we shared a risotto with lobster. For dessert my wife had the triple chocolate cake which was excellent and I had sweet potato pie which was marginal. That's our two cents worth but if you want to go then you decide.
Tried too hard. Goat cheese brûlée was good, but lemon overpowered risotto dish. Service was prompt, but not friendly. Plenty of better restaurants in Cincy.
Totally skipped our second course and only comped our salads.... over $150 for steak medallions, three scallops and a couple of drinks....not at all worth it. A disappointment.
Do not dine at this restaurant! The owners need to step in and see what type of service is being given and type of sub par food being served. My wife and I waited 93 minutes for our soup to be served to us. The waiter came back to tell us they ran out of gnocchi, which was the only dish I came for (he waited 2 hours to tell us this news). Not sure why he didn’t tell us BEFORE 2 hours. The server brought the menu back and said we could order something else, but it would NOT be complimentary. At this point in our dinner we had spent 2 hours in the restaurant and had just soup served to us. We decided to cancel the rest of our 4 items instead of waiting another hour for the food. Please do not get excited about the article in Cincinnati Magazine about Postmark. This is not good food. If I were the owners, I would be ashamed/embarrassed of the service and their restaurant. I will not be dining here ever again. Nothing like Red Feather. The table next to us got up and left as they didn’t receive their appetizers before 90 minutes. I could see the frustration in their faces.
$15 for 1 scallop! Seriously??? This place is so cheap they cut their blueberries in half!! Blueberries!!! Also, one would think that Lemon Lobster Risotto would have lobster in it....not a single solitary piece of lobster was found. Portions are so small that if you are hungry, this is NOT the place to go. Very disappointing.
