Above average food at a reasonable price with friendly service. We ate in the bar area but restaurant seating is also offered. Well located for the Barn theatre and pre theatre dining. Free parking after 6pm at nearby The Beeches car park, with roadside parking also available. An enjoyable experience which I would be happy to repeat.

We had an amazing steak dinner here – the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. After our meal, we were invited into the bar area, where a very talented pianist played for us for the rest of the evening. A lovely place to dine and enjoy quality time with your loved ones while in Cirencester

Stunning place to eat, drink, socialise or enjoy the live music! Just loved my evening here. One of the house musicians was the highlight ✨

We came here on the last day of our break to the Cotswolds. What a lovely surprise it was! The restaurant was busy but not heaving, the staff attentive, and the food was delicious. Even though there was a wedding in the garden, it did not affect diners in the main restaurant. As we finished our dinner, the live music started up in the bar, clearly a popular regular event. We joined the small crowd in the bar when we had finished up which made a great end to the evening.

Delightful place for dinner. Really nice atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff. There was excellent live music on (a friday night) which added to the ambience. A small but well put together menu with lots of options. There was a mix up with two of our main courses but this was rectified immediately and didn’t detract from an excellent evening. Would really recommend a visit.

Me and my wife had a lovely pre theatre meal here. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was extremely well cooked and tasted great. We we definitely be going back. Thank you!!

I am purely giving it 5 stars for the pianist. A perfect valentine's evening, we were singing along to some fantastic classics.

Quality food, worth the price. The desserts were nice, but a bit over the top. Would've preferred a more traditional banana split, although their take was interesting. Was in the style of the place.

This was such an amazing gem, food was so nice, staff were great, and the pianist at 9pm was just brilliant. Thanks

Either we got lucky, or Teatro is a Cirencester gem! The food was delicious, ambience perfect, and service impeccable. Slightly on the higher end when it comes to price, but worth every penny. Go for the duck breast and you won’t be disappointed.

Perfect spot for pre theatre dining. Nice decor, friendly staff and the food was very tasty with delicious mocktails. Protected walkway from restaurant to theatre, which was ideal for the wet and blustery day on which we visited.

Fabulous meal here tonight for Mother in law's birthday. Great surroundings, lovely staff. Varied selection on the menu and good range of alcohol and wines. Lovely garden to enjoy as the weather improves. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion..

We enjoyed our dinner. Service was excellent and of course the food was superb!! Great vibes as well with the live pianist.

Superb food and fantastic service. Will definitely be returning! Thought the menu was perfect in that it had enough variety while being small enough to ensure all the food on offer was high quality.

An evening of superb, food, cocktails and service. Can't recommend teatro enough. A delicious menu with dishes that go way beyond their description. A feast for the eyes and a gastronomic delight. A burger isn't just a burger, the pork isn't just a chop. We made the most of the recommended drinks to go with our meal. For someone who always panics when reading a wine list, teatro had it covered! 5***** You have to go!

Lovely restaurant and bar. We had great food served by Tuesdsy, she was fantastic. We then stayed for a drink or two for the love music. What a lovely evening we had.

Lives up to the expectations from the glowing reviews, each dish was superb but the Rabbit was a real delightful.

Had a lovely meal here on Wednesday 20th March. The restaurant is very pleasant with a very intimate feel to it. No big open spaces so it was nice and quiet. I had the soft polenta with salsify and a wild mushroom fricassee and it was the best thing I have tasted for a long time. I couldn't decide what to have for desert so our waiter suggested he surprise me. I was given the treacle tart which was just like the ones my Mum used to make when I was a child, delicious.

We had excellent food here. I recommend the chicken, chorizo and leek pie served with creamy mash potato and cabbage. My husband had a ribeye steak with Teatro fries as a side, which were delicious. We had the apple tarte tatin with ice cream to share. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Great place to eat. Would definitely visit here again.

First Time here, pre film. Super smiley staff, very friendly but the meal I ordered was the best meal I have eaten out in Cirencester. Absolutely delicious.

I’m not sure if words can describe tonight - from initially making the reservation, to the service and accommodation of making our evening so special, I can’t say thank you enough. Alex, I really hope that Téatro know how much of an integral part you are to the team. My partners birthday meal wouldn’t have happened without your enthusiasm and hospitable nature. Feel incredibly lucky to have been able to organise something like this. The food and drinks were incredible! Thank you so so much again!!

Had dinner here for my hobby’s birthday while visiting England. We were accommodated without having a reservation. Food was very good. They had a lot of orders come in at the same time, so we were offered complementary olives, which were delicious. My husband had steak with pepper sauce, it was very good and so was the chocolate marquis dessert.

Lovely restaurant, came here yesterday to celebrate a birthday dinner. Such lovely, friendly staff, delicious food, and a pretty restaurant. Would definitely return. The staff had the right balance of being attentive, but also leaving us to it.

Every time we eat here we are absolutely thrilled with the menu choices and quality of the food and service. Our 4th visit and we will be back. Every dish was delicious. I loved the fish choices. And the desserts .... I could have chosen all of them! Plus the happy hour for cocktails was a lovely surprise! A special shout out to Archie our server who was brilliant. He listened to our questions and if he didn't know the answer was happy to go and check with the staff/kitchen. Archie was friendly and patient with us as we took our time choosing what to actually order (too much choice!). And there was no rush for us to leave the table once we had finished eating. Thank you for having us. Looking forward to visiting again.

Nice relaxed pre-theatre meal. Lovely food, except several menu options not actually available - not a usual occurrence, however. Small plates particularly tasty

Four of us went for dinner before the theatre and had a superb meal, very tasty and well presented. Our lovely waitress looked after us extremely well, everything was spot on. Well worth it and so convenient for the Barn Theatre.

We had dinner at Téatro as we were staying at Ingleside House. Lovely decor and friendly service with a good garden area. We ate inside and started with a good Twice Baked Cheese Souffle, with Gouda Cheese Sauce and a Burrata with Heritage Tomatoes. Mains were a delicious Native Breed Pork Chop cooked on the Josper grill and the Moules Mariniere, with sourdough. And to finish a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream.

R

Lovely little restaurant, great staff, they did a good roast (but not chicken!). Best cauliflower cheese I have ever had! Shame they didn't have any veggie gravy and they couldn't bring the desserts out in time for us to enjoy them.

S

Drinks and nibbles, menu needed explaining as limited detail. Hot on ID don't forget it or could be a disappointing evening as my 26yr old daughter found out!

J
James Smith

Popped in for a coffee and told that chef wasn’t serving anything from the kitchen even though it was advertised till 10.30. Coffee was great a pleasure to sit in the leafy gardens.

B

We ate here on a Friday night, nice atmosphere with a pianist playing and singing in the bar area. My dinner was ok but a little salty. My wife’s dinner and my daughter’s dinner was very salty. When the waitress asked for feed back we did say the that the food was way too salty. The waitress said she had been told that before and the kitchen was aware. I wouldn’t go back.

C
Carly Byrne

The food was great although the decor doesn't make sense at all. First we were sat in a dark quiet room (couldn't read the menu) and then after we moved, the waitress constantly banged her head on the lights every time she came over because they were too low for that room. Amazing food but terrible ambience!

My partner and I ate at Teatro tonight as we were staying at the hotel, however, we were not blown away by the food or the service. The restaurant was not even half full and we had to wait a while to be served, the food came 40 minutes later despite ordering the steak and the burger dish. The waitress put this down to having a table of 8 in, which, having worked in several restaurants does not justify such a delay. Lots of staff were working yet lots of waitresses kept walking past our table and did not acknowledge us or the evident delay. When the steak came it was luke warm and clearly had been sat for a while. One of the waiters was helpful and got this replaced however we were both over the meal by this point as it was late in the evening. The steak came with unseasoned and raw red cabbage which ruined the dish and would be better served with spinach or green beans. We did however visit the previous night for the live music and drinks which I would recommend!

The young lads who served us were brilliant. The food was very disappointing. I booked this restaurant a month ago for a special birthday meal while we are visiting the Cotswolds. I ordered the 'vegan option available' burger, as I was hungry and needed some protein, but then the waiter had to come back as the chef couldn't make one. My only other option as a vegetarian was cauliflower 'steak' and chips for £20 (chips are only £4.50, so that would have been a very expensive bit of cauliflower), so I decided on the gnocchi. When it arrived it was hilariously small portion, 5 pieces of bread like dumplings in a thin spicy sauce. Nowhere near worth £17 so I cut my losses, sent it back and asked for a portion of chips. My partner had pork which he said was a nice cut of meat, but very salty and overcooked. We ended up going to McDonald's. As the other recent reviews have said, spend your money elsewhere.

L
L C

Staff were lovely and helpful (comped the inedible meals) but the chef is quite clearly incapable of cooking a steak, a person in my party ordered a sirloin and the first attempt was incredibly tough, the second order was ridiculously salty, getting to the point where he went hungry to prevent further disappointment. On top of this my brother ordered a medium steak and received a rare one (not mentioned to staff because he still ate it) Everyone else’s meals were adequate but considering the price, the quality was not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere.

D
D D

It could have been an off day for them, but unfortunately nothing went well for our booking. The food and drink were not special and we had to send back 2 steaks because they were undercooked and not what was ordered. The manager tried to make up for the obvious sub par food being served. It was a special birthday celebration and the meal fell flat.

C
Claire Grant

Very disappointing. Prosecco cocktail was flat and pineapple mojito was bland. We didn’t finish our cocktails and server didn’t bother to ask why. Ordered burrata and tomato starter. Tomatoes were sour and off. Server said this was just the dressing. It wasn’t. Cancelled main course and went elsewhere. Would not recommend.
