GoTan Ciudad De México Reviews
We ate some delicious ‘empanadas de carne y espinacas’ then we had spaghetti with Argentinian chorizo and an amazing ‘arrachera’ which is a slim meat cut. Fully recommend!!
If you want a really good experience in food and service, this is the place!!! The steak was awesome. The salad is incredible!!! And I don't like salad haha
My dad and I went here expecting something and we got amazed by everything. The service was just perfect, the waitress gave us the best recommendations of the restaurant. The steak was on point and the potatoes were simply perfect. 11/10 experience.
We had a fabulous time at Gotan! Our server Kati was so lovely and helpful. She made our decision making so much easier, and everything we had was perfect for us. The Argentinian Malbec was perfect with the meal & we would highly recommend this restaurant!
Omg, the food here is amazing!!! You have to come here and gave a nice dinner. I never had any steak that good before, so juicy and delicious, we didn’t eat that much of fatty part btw. The salmon was great too. They don’t have English menus but the waitress can speak English and willing to help you out, that’s a plus. The steak around 350g costs $399 which is around 25, 26 USD, not bad at all. Highly recommend.
If you're looking for a casual dining experience with fine dining service this is the place. Our sever walked us through the menu and was able to help is in both English and Spanish. He offered recommendations on cuts of meat to my boyfriend and helped me (vegetarian) pick out something from the pasta menu. This isn't the most vegetarian friendly place though, since Argentinean food is meat heavy. The Ravioli with pesto and Malbec I ordered was delicious though. I defintely recommend this place for great service and apparently delicious meats.
This is too expensive for the quality. My cut was supposed to be prime, but was very fatty and sinewy. The service was friendly and quick. Value for price is not there.
First of all this place felt like a liminal space. Be prepared to pay a little more than other places. Meat was good but it the service was a bit „too attentive“. Also somehow the vibes were off
Please do not eat here. The food is sickening. Most expensive meal I’ve had in Mexico City and indubitably the worst. Menu did not reflect the food I got, which claimed “carne,” though my meal turned out to be melted cheese, liquid cheese, and soft potatoes. It was honestly nauseating and something I’d create only with the hope of getting clogged arteries. Their pesto pasta is extremely oily and a the noodles themselves are undercooked. The waitress is unfortunately overburdened by the customers as there is also takeout and only one person on staff juggling it all. I don’t understand why they severely understaff this restaurant. The lasagna was fine overall. So was the steak, which was expensive as hell. I can’t recommend this. Worst meal in Mexico City so far and I’ve been here for more than a week. You’d be better off going to Sanborns down the street, which is basically Mexican Denny’s, or Tok’s, which is Mexican Friendlys. Please stay away.
We ordered a large steak to share and two glasses of wine. Changed our mind about the wine and wanted to cancel one. The server refused, telling us once we ordered we had to pay, even though they have not even started preparing the wine order or food. She wouldn’t back down so we said to cancel the whole thing and we left. The server followed us out to the street for 3 blocks wanting us to pay. We encountered a police and she talked him into taking her side, and we couldn’t really communicate in Spanish except using Google Translate. The police escorted all of us back to the restaurant. Unusually, the police stayed and watched us pay for the steak and left. We sat down to eat the steak and the server acted like nothing happened. Quite an adventure. The meat is good but we had been coerced into eating at the place. Bizarre experience.
The Wood and Charcoal grill was not turned on. the steak was pan fried with no flavour. The chimichurri sauce was not authentic at all. The sides were all overpriced. The side of fries and peppers & onions were tiny. Meat quality was good and a good size and priced reasonably, it’s a shames it didn’t have flavour. I won’t return.
I ordered a churrasco medium, the first one I ordered was well done and it seemed as if it was boiled first. It was taken back and a second one was brought it seemed medium once I cut thru it. When I took a bite it was cold, fridge cold, and when I touched the steak which just came off the grill it was also cold. The server was extremely nice. But the food was not good at all.
