A city should also be experienced through its bars. As in many neighborhoods of Mexico City, bars continue to play that role as a social gathering place. Even unscheduled encounters occur there, where two friends who happen to meet there by chance meet. The charm of being able to drink a beer and choose the snack of the day, which is the closest thing to a set meal, brightens the moment. Drinks alone are for the sad. At Las Pecosas, simple yet bright dishes land, like those that would reign in the home of any family in the city. This gives it a homey charm. On my recent visit, in addition to the Negro Modelo I chose, I was able to accompany the drink with cream of pea soup and potato fritters with lettuce salad. Aaah yes. Also meatballs, but I didn't photograph those because I ate them first.

I was a valued customer of this place for years. I even went to the owner, Don Jorge, and Juanita's house to eat on their birthdays. They would give me their house drinks and even lend me bottles, which I always returned to pay for. I even bought a car from the owner's son. But the last time I went, they charged me for 20 meals in advance and only gave me 7. Rebeca Rayón, who supposedly makes cakes and chocolates and is related to her, charged me for a half-sheet Avatar cake and brought me a small blue cake. It was late, and after everyone had left, she got angry because I complained, gestured her arms around me, and left. One of her friends started threatening me, so I decided to leave to avoid problems. I asked Juanita to take some light heads for me, and she said she would take care of them. Because of everything that had happened, I trusted her. It's been more than 3 months and they still haven't delivered them. I'll have to go to the consumer protection agency. I already spoke with the owner, who is the best thing about the place. Unfortunately, she doesn't live nearby. By the way, she was very kind and told me she would look for them at her house, but I'm still waiting. I'm telling you all this because it's what happened to me for years, but the place isn't the same as before, so I'm grateful to the place and to the best version of each person for everything I experienced there. The only and true reason I went is because they have a great singer and friend whom I will never let down.

I just went, I had 5 drinks and they charged me for 7. I always had to yell at the waitress to get her attention, and on top of that, she overcharged me. I recommend never going there; the bar is bad, it always smells like food, and they overcharge you.
