Sumo Ciudad De México Reviews
This was our first time at this location, and we had a great experience. There were no issues with our meal, which was both buffet and à la carte. I recommend going between 2-4 PM, as it wasn't too crowded and the service was very efficient. Excellent service from our waiter Carlos and the rest of the team. Recommendation: if you want spicy wings/boneless, order the Jaguar 🐆.
Nice
Amazing service & the food was awesome. Not a doubt, I'm coming back soon!
Awesome environment and good food. Go with your friends and family... You will enjoy..
The food is delicious (except for the chicken burger, which other SUMO restaurants prepare much better), and the beer goes very well with it. They have several specials in addition to the buffet, which currently has several restrictions. Upon ordering, the service was very good, both from the waiters and the kitchen staff. The only drawback is that the reception staff is somewhat rude and lacks a customer-friendly attitude when answering questions. They need to be more friendly at the entrance. It's easy to decide not to enter, considering there are three other similar options a few meters away.
This should be common sense, but... If you go to a restaurant that serves hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken wings and sushi: don't order the sushi. Good service, fair prices and cold beer. Just wish they had some wasabi for my poopy sushi. Maybe I'll try a hotdog next time.
Good place for dinner, but attention is really slow, you lose your appetite (maybe a practice to save costs).
Great option for sushis and alitas.... pocket friendly Buffett.....too much rush on weekends
Food ok, service ok. Can improve both.
The atmosphere is the best part. I think the staff are very overworked and need more help. The food isn't so bad for an all you can eat establishment.
Good it’s still not crazy pricy and they have like this buffet of a lot of stuff, however went with some friends they had no many tables and they still manage to have a really slow service and orders confused or even missing dishes even I told them like 3 times that I wanted a burger and they just served it till the end, place it’s nice but service it’s quite terrible.
This is my fourth time going. I even celebrated my birthday there once, but today everything was terrible. I don't understand why they open so many tables if they can't serve them all. I simply didn't receive anything I ordered, neither drinks nor food. I ended up canceling everything. The excuse: too many orders. Look, it's a buffet; if you can't handle so many people, don't open so many tables. I'm never coming back.
I don't think I'll return to this branch again. I've always come here and liked it a lot, but this time it was a total disappointment. The food in general was strange. One sushi roll was very salty, another tasted like something was off. The same goes for the ramen ingredients. I think the most disappointing thing was the drinks, which were more like ice than anything. The menu says 15 ounces per drink, but they gave me more than half of it in ice. I hope that as a franchise they standardize both food and drinks. My only positive note is that the service from the servers is good; they're attentive but very disorganized because they serve everyone at the same time and to everyone.
We waited 20 minutes to be served, and the branch wasn't even that busy. When we finally got served, the waiter was incredibly rude and acted like he was doing us a favor. I highly recommend training your staff. The food also took an incredibly long time to arrive, and the worst part is they tell you that you can only order two items at a time, but by the time they take your order again, you've already lost your appetite. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. This was my first time here, and I have absolutely no desire to return or try another branch.
After a long time, I returned to eat at this place. My experience with the food was poor because they don't pay attention to the small details. The soups they served me were cold and tasteless. The service wasn't bad; the young man who served me was doing his best. However, I was quite content enjoying my carajillo when he brought me the bill. Personally, I found it distasteful because I was enjoying my meal alone with my drink, and this action made me feel like I was being kicked out. It's worth noting that there was no one waiting, and the entire downstairs area was empty, so there was no apparent reason to rush me out like that.
The service is incredibly slow. The first time I ordered, I was supposed to order two things, but they only brought me one dish. Every time I ordered, they either brought me half my order or completely ignored it. They even brought me dishes I didn't order, and in two hours of service, they only brought me two dishes (one sushi and one chicken wings). The service is terrible. For the Insurgentes Sur area, they should have a much better capacity to serve and distribute food. Something as simple as a hot dog never even arrived at my table. And there are never any waiters to ask for anything!
Seriously, what a terrible experience! It was the worst experience I've ever had. I went on Friday, December 19th at 6:30. I waited 40 minutes and they wouldn't seat us, and they had many empty tables saying they were reserved, but they were empty from the moment I arrived. Can you really reserve a table that long? After we finally got in, there were only three of us to talk about. Seriously, it took them another hour to bring the food, so we didn't start eating until 8:45. And we had to share between the three of us because they only brought two of the six things we ordered. Then they didn't even bring toothpicks or silverware, nothing. We were eating with our hands. And it was like that with every single dish; it took about an hour. It's awful that you have such terrible service.
Food and drinks are awful, the ingredients are of low quality and the dishes poorly prepared (the rice in the sushi was dry, the shrimp in them was barely there, the patty in the burgers where dry, tough and very small, the boneless where almost meatless. The service was very slow for a Tuesday. And the price seems to be fair, but ends up being excessive for what you get because the buffet doesn't include drinks nor dessert, for the price you can either go to a better place or buy the burgers, the sushi and the wings from other places. In summary the concept is good but the execution is extremely poor.
