Wheatfields Clifton Park Reviews
Wheatfields nailed their menu with Saratoga restaurant week! 5 star service and the menu specials rivals any fine dining within the area. Thank you for such an amazing experience and we will absolutely be back for more.
The Restaurant Week Pan Seared Red Snapper was absolutely delicious. The arugula and beet risotto was perfect. I would go back to get it again. The service couldn't be better.
Wheatfields makes their own pasta. They have 3 gluten-free options for pasta which is just unheard of for most restaurants. I ordered the shrimp and spinach dish on gluten-free linguine. It was savory and absolutely delicious. We love their truffle fries so we ordered those too and they were as good as I remembered. They come with garlic aoli sauce. The atmosphere is nice with a couple of fireplaces located in the restaurant. There are booths and open tables. There is also a bar and it has seating but I don't know if you can order food from there. My husband got the caramel crunch cake for dessert and he loved it. It was a nice, quiet experience with good food and our server was fantastic.
Haven’t been here in a while and was reminded what a beautiful establishment this is. Food was very good, exvellent service and great specialty drinks! Brought a friend here for her birthday, And we had a great time. I’ll be back soon!
Great for date night. If you're craving carbs, you can't go wrong with the house bread or ricotta spread. Drinks are worth their price, they don't skimp out. Clamp and linguine is a little pricey but the homemade pasta is yummy. Outdoor patio is warmed with heaters. Live music too!
Out of town visit, so first time here for me. Casual, comfortable atmosphere with a friendly vibe. Fireplace and piano we're just right. Service was meticulous, Sarah-Ashley* is a rockstar, and is worth requesting. Great pour on drinks, appetizers of whipped Ricotta with a dash of lemon...perfect starter w/ their house bread. Nice selection of salads, homemade pastas and mains. Love the candor on what is made in-house to direct our menu selections. Our meals were eggplant rollatini which was fresh and plentiful w/ broc rabe. Also, chicken milanese was a hit. Amazing selection of desserts which we passed on. This is a regular stop for my friends, and it is easy to see why.
The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, it wasn't to loud where we had to talk over people. The service was attentive and average with no complaints. It was my birthday so they gave me a cake and candle and didn't embarrass me by singing happy birthday 🎈 the food overall was delicious, the temperature on the stuffed shells was Luke warm and the filling was a little disappointing. The sweet and sour calamari was delicious and was cooked perfectly. I got the pork chops dish and it was cooked perfectly, very juicy. The mashed potatoes were a little salty but the overall I enjoyed it and would order it again. The chocolate mousse was delicious and I highly recommend it. Overall it's a great family restaurant with high quality food and service. I was even given fresh handmade pasta and sauce on the house so I'm very pleased with the entire experience. The bill for 4 people with appetizers, drinks, entrees and dessert was under $250 so it's reasonably priced too with a variety of selections.
Ambiance , food and service were great. Our Waitress was very pleasant, warm, helpful and delightful. Thank you Kelly!!. We had a table if 12, I got the pizza in my opinion it could of been hotter temperature wise but I'm guessing it was due to the large table. All in all I was quite satisfied.
Go here often, good Italian food at a family price. Love their family meals to go as well. Have gone here multiple times for Sunday brunch. Good food. Love their breakfast pizza.Pizza. London W. was out waitstaff and did a great job. Back again, I got the Frittata special. Found that and the Omelets a bit too dry. Next time, I am going to stick with the breakfast pizza.
A group of about 40 of us gathered together in the private room today after a funeral. We had a truly great experience here, considering the circumstances. First, the food was delicious. Our orders were staggered, as each person put theirs in as they arrived. We shared pepperoni pizzas that were split up among all of us at the table absolutely delicious! Great sauce, and the cheese was perfect. My Caesar salad arrived fairly quickly after I put my order in. Huge portion and just the right amount of dressing (actually hard to do, I often get ones that are either dry or drenched). Finally, I split the Chicken Marsala and the Chicken Milanese with the hubby. Loved the Milanese - thin and crispy chicken with a light sauce, very good. Marsala also delicious - 2 huge pieces of chicken and lots of pasta. Sauce was more wine than sweet, so everyone's opinion will be different, depending upon how you like your Marsala sauce. This was the perfect space for a small gathering. There was plenty of room for all, and didn't feel crowded at all. It felt like we were in a restaurant by ourselves. Finally, the waitstaff was terrific. They easily handled the ebb and flow of people coming in and ordering at different times. Food was brought out hot and drinks refilled regularly. They were all so friendly, courteous, and helpful. I would highly recommend this place for both a regular dining out experience and a small gathering.
I have been to them a few times... I like to try different things each time I go... this venture was the fries and meatballs... Fries and the aioli was great... good flavor and they were nice and crispy... Meatballs... unfortunately, wish I got something different... 😕 bland in flavor... no garlic, no taste... just plain ole meat in the shape of a ball... the marinara was ok... Alfredo was ehh... will try different things next time I pop in... the wait staff was great... highly knowledgeable about everything on the menu... very helpful with everything... Thanks again...
Service was amazing. The atmosphere is nice, but it was cold in out area. Food was not as good as it usually is. The Salmon was good. . My friends Cesar wrap was good The calamari was Very salty. Did not hardly eat any of it The arancini was well cooked but bland. Usually much better. I will say the food is usually amazing. Sadly this time not as much.
First time, had heard good things. Ordered takeout. Food was not ready when i was told it would be. I had to ask twice for an update. A "I'm sorry, it's going to be 10-20 minutes" would have been helpful. Or, you know, any response after "I will go check on your food" from the hostess. The restaraunt was loud - but, it is a bar, so maybe i should have expected that. Food was excellent. Will likely try again sometime....
The wait staff are very friendly and attentive every time I go there. I have gluten and tree nut allergies and they are so accommodating for them. The food tastes good and I don't leave with stomach pains afterwords from "bad oils" or soy products either like some restaurants use. I have had the Chicken Marsala and the Chicken Milanese and both are good. The booths in the back are super comfy and great for a close date night.
Went here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Restaurant was pretty empty with a lot of open tables. We were given a small, two seated table by the door which is typically a terrible a table for any establishment. The food was very good and the server was attentive. The furniture is run down and worn. The place is pretty dirty and dusty. Food was good enough to go back but I'll probably try the Saratoga location over Clifton Park.
I would give three stars but given my previous experiences with Wheatfields I will give it four stars. Every other visit, save today, has been exceptional, and on every occasion, including today, the food has been exceptional. What makes today different is the service and the cleanliness of where we were seated. Upon entering we waited nearly five minutes to be seated, and the privacy glass where we were seated was stained with grease and pasta sauce, which could probably be cleaned nightly. Our server also acted very curt towards us, as though we were inconveniencing him. Had it not been for our exceptional previous visits I would give a three star rating, but I am hoping that what we experienced with the service was a fluke. However, as I mentioned, exceptional food on several occasions, and I would recommend a visit.
It's nice, upscale, fresh food, good service.... but nothing I've ever eaten here has made me go "Oh wow, that's delicious." I like an al dente pasta - there's is overcooked in my opinion. The sausage is pretty good. Chicken parm, pretty good. Nothing wowed me though and for the pricetag....I want to be wowed.
Our waitress was very cordial, accommodating worked as quickly as she could. There were 20 in our party. My chicken parm was mediocre , but my husband raved about his calamari. He said it was the best calamari he’s ever had. It took the kitchen staff a very long time to prepare our food. When mine came out, the spaghetti and mariniara sauce and pasta were about room temperature. I prefer my food to be served hot.The chicken was breaded and cooked to perfection. The pasta was wide spaghetti. The sauce was plain, not seasoned well and tasted lii I me it came out of a 10 gallon can. We weren’t served bread or a salad with dinner, but were told we could buy them.
A new waiter but attentive. I asked questions and he was not sure but checked with kitchen. My partner ordered the Mac and cheese with sausage and all was going good until a fly landed in his bowl. I ordered Caesar salad and romaine crisp, croutons not soggy but if you are looking for authentic Caesar this is not it. Not swimming in a weak dressing but not a very good Parmesan flavor, more an oil/vinegar base. First meal delivered to me was the wrong one. I had asked for a spinach linguine with Parmesan and got spaghetti with fresh spinach and a very weak thin sauce that did not taste like fresh Parmesan. Could not finish my meal.
Been several times, but things seem to have fallen off. Even the most straightforward meals were pretty lackluster and we're pretty sure all the desserts came straight from a freezer.
We were disappointed choosing Wheatfields for our Christmas Eve dinner. The hostess seemed very grumpy and sat us in a spot near others in a wide open, cold room. We had reservations for at least months prior to this day. The waiter seemed... awkward. He was soft-spoken and didn't bring out the dipping sauce for the $4 bread we had to purchase for the table. The food was disappointing especially for what they charge! The chicken alla vodka (the special) had maybe two small pieces of chicken and was over covered with cheese. We have been to Wheatfields in the past with great experiences which is why we chose it for our Christmas Eve family dinner. I don't think I will return at this point.
We ordered the family style takeout chicken Marsala and it was very disappointing. The linguine was like starchy worms and seemed like something they just microwaved. The Caesar salad dressing tasted like mayonnaise or miracle whip. Very confused how an Italian pasta place had such awful pasta. $50 for this quality of food is crazy.
