Great little coffee and pastry spot in the heart of Cloverdale! We just had coffee this time, but we'll be back to try the delicious looking scones another time.

Excellent coffee and a wondrous selection of pastries! (4/5 green stars) It was definitely worth stopping in Cloverdale to see the town (and its quirky artwork) and visit Plank coffee. In terms of design, it’s one of the nicest coffee shops I’ve ever come across. Great light and a good mix of seating from the large communal table to the big armchairs. I had a Guatemala Huehuetenango pour-over (you heard me!) – reasonably priced at $3.25 and very nicely roasted & brewed. They now roast their own beans, with 10 oz bags for sale at $13-14. I also had a piece of their Hungarian shortbread ($2) and having made my own at home (and thinking it was good) I can say that theirs was exceptionally good! I was shocked to hear that it’s also gluten-free – a local baker makes it using their special rice flour mix. They have a great selection of pies and pastries with several vegan and gluten-free options. I’m wavering between 4 and 5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • I believe that their coffee and teas are organic. • Having said that, I’d like to know more about their coffee – I forgot to ask and now can’t find any info online. I think that some bags are labeled as organic and some not. Not sure about trade practice. Hope to learn more! • They stock organic almond and soy milk. • Some vegan-friendly pastries. • They now roast their own coffee in restored roaster and package it in compostable (I think) bags. • I like that as an alternative to soda they sell a “Shrub of the Week”, made from local produce. Great idea! • Their amazing décor is largely from salvaged (communal table), vintage (armchairs) or locally-sourced (their wooden wall) materials. • Lids not compostable – anyway, bring your own mug! Interested in writing green star reviews? If so, contact me! (greenstarsproject)

Awsome Cappuccino literally among the best espresso drink I've ever had 6 stars aren't enough. The food is also excellent and the pastries amazing I had a slice of rhubarb peach cobbler that was unbeatable... they close at 2 pm Only wish they were open for an evening cup and nosh. Don't be surprised at the excellent images on your foam ... baristas they are

The real deal people!!! You want to come here! Organic, grass fed, pastured milk for your latte is not an option, that's just the way it is! The syrups are all made in house, so are the delicious baked goods. The baristas are kind and knowledgeable. You want to be here!

The best biscuit I've ever had in my LIFE was at Plank. What do they make it with? , Even the raspberry jam is incredible. Worth a drive just for that damn biscuit. The chai is also concocted with their housemate chai blend, none of that bottled up premade nonsense. Nice vibe, high quality ingredients, good selection of food and loose leaf teas.

Excellent veggie-head spot. Good coffee. Great biscuits. Fakin'BLTA was fantastic. Great brunch food on a Sunday at 11am.

Love this place. I always stop here when my trips on 101 take me by Cloverdale. Great food ( love the BLAT), great tea/coffee, and friendly fast service. Very much has a local vibe. Lots of outdoor seating.

I love this place. Great BLAT (vegan bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato) sandwich. Had a yummy muffin for dessert. Had tea and also bought a tin of tea to go. All the servers are friendly and the entire place was immaculate. Ate outside in the rain at the covered picnic tables. Always make it a point to stop here for lunch when I am traveling in the area.

Fantastic little coffee shop with a great selection of baked goods, coffees and tea. No indoor seating at this time but plenty of space outdoors and the wifi worked well from there.

I stop whenever I drive by. Plank Coffee is fantastic. This time it was crowded but not that noisy. Service was great and very patient. I only bought one sweet bread and one cookie because I am going back tomorrow morning for breakfast and more bread for my trip home. I'm drinking a Cordata and it's delicious. Definitely a community coffee house. My kind of place !!!!!!

Everything is amazing here. Easy parking the desserts were amazing. The bagels are made with local bread that is more special. The taste was great. All the employees were with a smile that help to feel like at home. We loved this place

I would say they're a fantastic hole-in-the-wall coffeehouse, but word has seemingly gotten out because they're busy all day, every day! They legitimately have the best coffee I've ever experienced (the honey latte just hits different y'all, get it iced and you'll be chillin like a villain). And the atmosphere is wonderfully inviting. Very friendly staff, amazing sandwiches and breakfast items with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and their online ordering is very clean and easy if you want to avoid the morning crowds. If you end up falling in love with their coffee like I have, they roast all of their own beans weekly and sell them in-house! Definitely a place I will never forget.

Beautifully decorated coffee shop with delicious baked goods and various lite food options. Most if not all the options are vegetarian or vegan. Friendly service and most important of all great coffee. I tried the brew of the day. Great Peruvian coffee. Added a raspberry scone which was scrumptious. My wife tried the house made chai tee and loved it.

We're on a day trip to Santa Rosa from Ukiah. We love downtown Cloverdale and have heard good things about the Plank. Today we stopped for breakfast. At 9am there was a short line to get in. Nice food, bakery, and coffee options. We had a Fritatta with a crumb cake side. And, our coffee choice was Honey Latte. The Fritatta was a little small for $11, but quality was tops. The crumb cake was a little dense, but tasty. After I ordered there was a long line waiting to get in. Overall, a great experience. Plus, there was live music outside. We'll be back... 10/11/2025 I visit the Plank often. Always great. Today was for breakfast ahead of a road trip to San Jose. A breakfast sandwich and latte were the perfect choice. If you're looking for Vegan options, you'll love the Plank.

Yeah - five stars across the board. I did think about being careless with praise here - I feel justified. I ordered a breve latte and a stand-alone shot of espresso - so I could taste the core product. I watched the barista at work and noted her professionalism in puck preparation. The resulting espresso was creamy and was timed to capture the sweetness without the bitter flat taste of an extended pull. Even though latte art does not contribute to the taste of a latte, it inspires the idea of something delicious, and demonstrates the honed abilities of the barista. The resulting latte impressed me with a caramelization of honey, plum, and a hint of grapefruit in the finish - revealing a blend of arabica and probably at least some Colombian beans. Weather helped us enjoy the outdoor seating - where a helpful staff member followed us with our drinks on a tray. The atmosphere was kitschy, quiet, and clean.

I had a mocha and some house made baked goods. The almond croissant was excellent. Almond croissants are often dry elsewhere or over stuffed. These were well balanced with great flavor and texture. The cookies are decadent and lovely. The star attraction is the coffee. I have a love/hate relationship with mochas. SO often they are no more than a cheap hot chocolate with some coffee that you cant taste. The cocoa flavor in the mocha here is definitely present but so is the coffee. Out of the bazillion coffee places in Mendocino, only a few actually pull this off. I recommend Plank highly and will definitely be back.

Plank is such a gem. The owners are wonderful, and the baristas are always friendly, welcoming, and a true pleasure to chat with. The cappuccinos are consistently 10/10, and their tea selection is impressively curated - so many great choices. I also love their mushroom sandwich, and my absolute favorite thing to get is the Blueberry Hill smoothie. The space has a great vibe both inside and out, where there are so many places to sit and relax for a long while. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or spending your morning there, it always feels like a warm, community-centered spot. So lucky to have this place in town!

WiFi, good coffee, and homey aesthetic. This coffee shop is a nice little wood paneled, cozy but bright den that smells like wood, and coffee. The front coffee table bench area is very comfortable, and the prices are good. I would come here again.

Solid spot for a town like this, coffee is good but quite light on flavor. Also tried a flourless peanut butter cookie per recommendation and it hit the spot. All baked items looked tasty so would come back to try more. Staff was quite short but friendly. On a weekday in February there was quite a lot of street parking available.

Great place to gran a coffee whether in Cloverdale or Healdsburg. Their drinks are comprable in price to other local spots, but I find they have a wider variety of coffee drinks, non coffee drinks, and food. They even serve lunch (though I haven't had a chance to try). They have the best honey lattes around amd their scones, particularly the savory ones, are to die for!

I stopped by this coffee shop looking for a nice place to get some work done, but unfortunately, I was disappointed to find out that they don't have WiFi. The coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy, but without WiFi, I couldn't do any work or even check my emails properly. Additionally, the cell service was also quite weak, making it difficult to stay connected. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick coffee break or meeting with friends

I visited Plank Coffee today. The coffee and atmosphere were nice, but I did notice something that made me feel uncomfortable. I observed that the cashier asked some customers whether their order was ‘for here or to go,’ but they did not ask me and automatically made mine to go, it felt disappointing to experience different treatment. I hope the staff can be more mindful and treat all customers equally, regardless of background.

A nice coffee shop with lovely outdoor seating. However, for two coffees, a bagel, and a slice of cake, I paid $40 with the tip. Pretty salty for a continental breakfast!

We stopped at Plank to grab coffee on our drive through Cloverdale heading up 101. 2 sandwiches, a biscuit, and two drinks were $70. The eggs have dairy and cheese mixed in them so I wasn't able to order anything with eggs as I have an extreme diary sensitivity. This automatically eliminated most items of the menu at a breakfast place. Although expensive I was optimistic that the rest would be good. The biscuit and smoothie was great, but the rest was so subpar. I was so disappointed. The vegan meats (only option) were really bland and tasted heavily of soy, while masked by the super spicy mayo on everything. It would be nice to have real meat options as well as eggs that arent precooked with dairy (and they couldn't make fresh eggs either??)

I love plank coffee but one specific person has made it so uncomfortable to the point that I don’t even want to go in anymore. The cashier with the short hair & glasses (maybe in her 40s?) is always at the front & has been rude every time I go in. I wasn’t going to make this review but after speaking to my friends (including ex employees) about this matter & I realized we all felt the same way; I felt the need to post a review to let the owners know that one person is making a negative impact on their business. Hearing from ex employees that the reason they quit is because of that specific coworker/manager I’m wondering if the owners don’t care?? I’m not sure, all I know is that I’m not the only person with this issue.
