Bobby Salazar's Taqueria Clovis Reviews
Love their shredded beef tacos. Yummy. The margaritas are great. We love this place
Love it! The service is always great, and the the food is awesome! Always ordering different things but I really love the carnitas! The churros are definitely worth trying! ♡♡
Had a dinner for 20 people at this location to celebrate my son’s graduation and they did a great job. They partitioned our dining area away from others and even gave us an extra table to put the cake on. Alfonso was the waiter who assisted my party mostly and he along with the others that helped did wonderful. I would defintley have another large party dinner at this location again.
Had a work meeting here. Great beers on tap and once we were done at the bar we got a table and ordered food. I had the chicken fajitas which were great. My colleague said he was not a fan of the flour tortillas they gave us but I thought they were fine. Good, fast service. I will definitely be back.
A good place to hang with friends on Saturday nights, good drink prices and music
Went there for company holiday dinner. Food was good but poor service. Aside from taking our food/drink orders and bringing them out, the server remained out of sight all throughout our dinner and didn't even come check on us at all or to refill our drinks.
Combo plate, cheese enchilada + 2 chili relleno, which is the item I rate all mexican restaurants on. It seemed pre-made (not fresh made) and tasted like old rancid oil. Not appealing at all
Worker was on phone and waited to get service. Waiter came and yelled at other employee for not helping.
I've been thinking about my review. The last few times we've been at this place it's been good. This time something was off. The shift manager came in and leaned on the bar with his back to us as we waited behind the barrier to be seated. It was a shift change. His attitude was not great. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce and the food was average. These days going out cost a lot so .. you hope it's going to be really good. I will say my favorite waitress served us- she's been there a long time and us a pro. But... I don't think will be back .
I got the fiesta platter for myself, because I was hungry and wanted to try it all. Plenty of leftover food for another meal. The chicken bites have good medium spicy flavor, everything else was kinda plain. It’s ok, but nothing that makes me want to go back again. The karaoke at night is great entertainment.
I ordered some asada tacos. The meat tasted and looked like it was boiled. They drowned it in shredded lettuce, seems like they tried to hide the taste and ingredients. I will probably never eat there again. The service was good though.
The Tale of Two Plates: A Culinary Crime Let me start with the only thing on my plate that was truly, unequivocally "well done." That would be the Carne Asada. And by "well done," I mean it was cooked to the precise consistency of a saddle left baking in the Arizona sun. It wasn't tender; it was challenging. I think the chef might have been under the impression I was training for a jaw endurance competition. I swear, the only thing not well-done about that piece of leather was the separate stack of cold, flimsy tortillas. The comedy of errors didn't stop there. The beans and rice were like a time capsule from the Paleozoic era. They'd been resting under a heat lamp so long, they were less "food" and more "a monument to the day they were cooked." They were so dry, I'd find more inherent moisture in the two value tacos from Jack in the Box. Seriously, I felt like I was disrespecting myself by not simply driving to Taco Bell for a 7-Layer Burrito—which, by comparison, is a Michelin-star experience. This was truly a low-grade, borderline insulting meal. The Vitals (aka The Damage Report): Carne Asada: Cooked to the texture of a shoe sole. (Culinary Skills: -1000) Sides (Rice/Beans): Desiccated, desperate, and depressing. Service: Pretty good, considering they had to deliver this monstrosity. Prices: Average (Which is $10 too high for this TV dinner quality). Drinks: Seemed cheap. My Official Suggestion (Read This Twice): I don't drink, but if you attempt to eat here, you need to pre-game with about four strong beverages just to lower your standards enough to make this tolerable. Bring your own sauce, your own water, and maybe a lawyer. You deserve better than this culinary tragedy!
Our table ordered the enchilada plate and they were so salty we couldn't even eat them. My wife got sick from them, her lips swole up. The waiter didn't offer to make it right or comp our meals. We will never go there again.
The worst dinner. I ordered Taquitos from appetizers and they were the frozen ones from a package. Disgusting! Cost $11.99. Shame on you Bobby Salazar’s for even serving it! Lucky I wasn’t charged for it cuz I sent it back and didn’t bother to order anything else. Never will go to any of these restaurants again. Had to rate a ⭐️ to put review but at least my husband shrimp cocktail was good.
Honestly the combo plate wasn’t bad for what it was. My burrito was good but my partners chicken was undercooked and pink. And not the smoky type pink that you get from bbq. Like raw pink. The food was bland, so the fact that this place has the audacity to call itself a Mexican restaurant is just sad. The waitress who sat us down was business as usual and was chill when I came back to get an item I forgot. But the server (Christopher) pissed me off. He kept kneeling by me and hovering when we weren’t ready. If he’s gonna treat customers like children then he should not be surprised when people do not like his service. Not gonna come back here again. Edit: my partner is white and most of her life ate American food, I’m Asian and grew up around many cultures foods cause of where I lived. It says something if even SHE said it was bland and I have to agree. Fresno has always had a food culture amongst the more ethnic crowd. This was just a disappointment.
Absolutely deserve zero stars. We ordered $300 worth of catering and when we ordered, we asked if someone would be available to help my 60 year old mom out with the order as it was a lot of food. They said that would be no problem. When she went to pick the food up at 11:15 am, after she paid, the very rude lady told her that they were too busy to help her and refused to help her carry out the food. My mom literally had to ask one of the customers in the restaurant to help her!! We purposely asked them BEFORE we placed our $300 catering order if they would help her carry it out and they agreed. Yet when she got there to pay, they absolutely refused because they were, “too busy.” I would have found someone to help her if they would have been honest when we asked the first time. Absolutely the worst experience and will never return. BEWARE of them. They are awful.
Tried to give this place another shot. First time they got both burritos wrong, after taking the drive to pick up. Waited a couple weeks, tried again. Had them repeat order this time. Got home. Several pieces of meat in a VEGETARIAN BEAN BURRITO. Not right for someone who doesn’t enjoy eating meat and that person really loved this place. Done coming here. Quality and attention to simple orders is missing. Worth going to another spot.
