We rolled in during on a busy Saturday for lunch. The place was packed. One young man was waiting all the tables and doing an excellent job. He put us outside on the deck. We proceeded to have a great meal with drinks. We had the dinner salad, which was huge, the burger and the chicken salad. Everything has tasty and the portions with big. We look forward to coming back !

i went to the steamed donkey with a few friends and we loved this restaurant. the rib eye and filet mignon was cooked to perfection. i have had steaks at many restaurants and this one was right up there with the best of them. we wanted to bring a few steaks back to our campsite for some friends and although they normally do not accommodate take-outs they made an exception for us (thank you) will i eat there again ? Absolutely ! it was a simple but delicious meal with great service.

Food made from fresh ingredients, with generous portion sizes. The atmosphere is homey and service friendly. It's not big and there aren't many tables inside. There is a nice large fireplace out on the patio, which is very nice. Reservations ahead of arrival would be recommended.

Thanks for seating us before you closed. It would have been a long night last winter with nothing else open and us without food. Food was tasty and to top off the meal they gave the kids ice cream for dessert. With the bar on the side, regulars giving hugs to staff and the cozy quarters this place made us feel homely.

We had dinner here after visiting Pinecrest lake. The food was great and the service was awesome. My family and I had a great dinner. Thankfully we made a reservation witch is highly recommended right now because of the limited seating. We will be visiting again.

Delicious food! Nice and quiet restaurant with a bar inside and a fireplace outside. And excellent service! The waitress was so helpful and friendly. And as a bonus there is a friendly kitty roaming around outside!

Very good food for being such a small town. It's the only restaurant in Pinecrest, so it's fortunate that it's a good one. The waitress who served us did a great job despite being the one waiter on staff that night and a busy restaurant. Two vegetarian options on the menu.

We were very surprised with the quality of the food here - 5 stars! After having eaten at many great restaurants in the bay area, I wish this was a spot I could frequent more easily. Main courses are tasty with great portions, and all meals come with bread, a soup or salad and a healthy portion of a side dish and veggies.

Dinner was absolutely wonderful! The chef is amazing! The best pork chop I've ever had! The mashed potatoes were great! Broccoli was done very well. Will definitely be going back.

For being the only restaurant at Pinecrest Lake and one of the few restaurants in the nearby areas, the Stream Donkey serves very good good at reasonable prices. And the service is always great.

Lunch was a disappointment, especially for the price. The restaurant was pretty empty when we walked in at noon without a reservation, but it took over 40 minutes for the food to be served. Chicken breast on the salad was overcooked. Burger ordered medium rare was served well done. We were starving by then so we went ahead and ate, but the food was not very enjoyable. I have never seen such a thin 1/3 lb beef patty. Bacon on the bacon cheeseburger was good. French fries were good. Chili was mediocre. It’s a cute little restaurant and the people who worked there were nice, hence the 3 stars.

2 years ago Steam Donkey was the BEST food I’ve ever had, now I wouldn’t even recommend this spot anymore. I paid $50 for dry salmon, cold pasta and RAW asparagus. This is such a disappointment.
