Applebee's Colima Reviews
Food was good. Quick to get. Fries were well seasoned and hot.
Ordered the gyro sandwich and Shawarma plate. They have great portions and was very delicious. Salsa picosa is really good. The establishment is also very cleanly. I wish there was a location south Houston.
The food was PHENOMENAL!! I went with two of my siblings and ordered beef, chicken shawarma and a gyros sandwich plate. The food was seasoned to perfection and the meats were so tender. The service, however, left something to be desired. The young lady did not take ny order correctly and when the order was clarified, she didn’t want to give me the difference.
Good flavor! I live to go to this place when overnights at IAH. Get extra hummus for back to hotel. Good price point for fresh food with delicious sauces. Keep up the good work guys!
Alwadi is hands down one of our favorite spots! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared — from the hummus and shawarma to the fresh-baked pita. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home every time. Whether dining in or taking out, the quality is consistently excellent. Highly recommend Alwadi if you’re craving authentic Mediterranean food!
Alwadi is a fantastic place to enjoy Mediterranean food, and I look forward to returning in the future. It is a straightforward restaurant that specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered the gyro plate, which was very filling for one person. It came with gyro meat, French fries, pita, hummus, and a salad. The flavors and freshness were evident both in how the meal was presented and in how everything tasted. I would definitely recommend visiting Alwadi if you are in the mood for a satisfying Mediterranean meal.
This place was recommended by my son, we love Greek and halal. He told me the Gyros were really good and swarms. I've never eaten swarms. Well the place is a nice size plenty of seats. I went for lunch, ordered Tony's Gyro, basically the typical Gyro with feta cheese, Kalamata olives added on. This also came with fries and a drink, I paid about 16$ 18$ but it was made perfectly!! It was big and everything was hot and seasoned. The people working there was really nice. Best gyro ever. Close to the airport. If you love gyros, this is it.
Gyro was pretty tasty. I would go at least 1 a month if a combo wasn't over $17.
Been here a few times for lunch now. They have pretty big Greek sandwiches here. So far I've tried the chicken kabob sandwich and the their Gyro sandwich. In all honesty don't know why they call their Gyro a sandwich, it's a Gyro. But if any down I would say. Their sandwiches can get a lil dry so make sure you get a few more white sauce cups to go. They're actually pretty good for dipping your fries into too. Plus make sure you get plenty of napkins before you leave, cause your gonna need them. You get messy!
The food is ok, it lacks some Wadi soul. The people that work there just follow the menu and the owners have given up on cooking authentic Mediterranean flavor. But all in all it's a fast food restaurant.
The falafels are fresh made to order.I had the chicken shawerma, very large portion. It's very good wood highly recommend
Only rating a 4 out of 5 because the beef on the Shawarma sandwich was dry and a bit tough but the flavor of the sauce and the bread were good. Also he’s fries which were well seasoned and probably could use a good mixing after they seasoned them only because you have a TON of seasoning all in one spot. My husband ordered the Gyro Sandwich combo which was $15.75 for the combo which is just the sandwich, drink and fries. - for 2 people we paid $35 and some change for 2 combos. Super busy during lunchtime.
I had a delayed flight connection in Houston and had to stay overnight. Since I wanted Mediterranean food and this café was close to my hotel, I came here. When I arrived at 8:25 PM, the doors were open. I even said I’d take anything : a sandwich or shawarma, but the girl told me they were already closed. This was very disappointing, especially since the website says you close at 9:00 PM. Please update your hours so travelers don’t end up frustrated.
Heh. The gyro meat was tasty and the pita fresh, buuuut.... The French fries tasted twice fried. I worked in restaurants for years. I know what a savage batch tastes like! Ewe! Then the baklava and dolma were microwaved! The baklava was supposed to be house made but tasted frozen and nuked.... why were the stuffed grape leaves warm?? They are supposed to be cold! And the microwave?? When i asked the nice lady, Hispanic, said dolma are served warm.... no, no they aren't. In a jam, this gyro was good for $7
Business noted to be closed at 9CST. I arrived at 8:35. Approached restaurant, and door was locked. I made my presence known to the staff within the business from outside. There was zero desire to interact or confirm if they were open. I am traveling and want to experience the opportunity. Also, the cook was working the grill for an order probably.
Food was well spiced, BUT: 1) beef kebab was super chewy; 2) chicken kebab was very dry; 3) humus was super dry; 4) it was VERY expensive for a counter service restaurant, served on plastic trays and paper plates. I really wanted to like this place. We drove 1 hour specifically to eat here. We left quite disappointed. I’m guessing at some point this restaurant was good, hence the other good ratings. But now their quality seems to have slipped. Unlikely we’ll ever go back. NOT RECOMMENDED.
The girl that answers the phone is unprofessional and rude if you ask what does the plate come with. Order other things and she didn't place the order. She was texting on her phone while ringing me up. I asked a question and she rolled her eyes and said what sir. It's funny now. I'm hope the best for her.
I ordered a chicken shawarma with fries. I told the order taker no salt, no seasoning in my fires. When I got my fries, sure enough it had the seasoning on it. I told the blond young girl my fries was made wrong. She dipped it the fry oil and gave back to me. Horrible attitude and service by the bling girl. I gave her my fries back thinking she will replace them with fresh fries no seasoning. She never gave me the fries. I paid for something I didn’t receive. THIS IS HORRIBLE AND RIP OFF!! Never again. My ticket was 14570 $57.06
Let me tell you, this is not a Mediterranean cuisine at all, imitation at best. You dont cook Shawarma like they do, meat is dry no flavor, rice is over cooked. Not worth the money. Stay away!
