Plearn Thai Palace Concord Reviews
It was 8:15 and everything in Walnut Creek closes at 9pm. I was craving Green Curry. We were hungry and just picked this place because they were open. I've tried many of the Thai places all around the WC area and have yet to find one I really like, until now. All the food is fresh and very well made. The rice was perfect and flavorful. The ambiance and vibe of the overall restaurant was warm, welcoming, and very clean. It is not casual dining but is casual in style. It was late and the owner took our order. He is a really nice guy. As for the green curry I wanted so much, the steamy coconutty spicy rich chickeny broth with just a bit of heat was perfect. The only thing I would change is to eliminate the green beans but that's purely my taste. My partner had the PatHed, which he loved. Will we return? Absolutely, and I hope soon! I am advocating for family owned restaurants everywhere when I ask diners to get up and go out to any of the local family owned restaurants instead of using those delivery services. Those services charge the customers many fees and then also charge the restaurants about 25%. They are killing these wonderful places. Never forget how much we wanted the shutdown to end, why are we still eating on our couches? Get out one night soon and try out Plearn Thai Palace if you want fresh homemade Thai food that will leave you feeling like your taste buds and tummy are thanking you.
Cute little Thai restaurant that has been here longer than many of the other Thai places nearby. Every salad, curry, and other dishes we've gotten here have been very good. Try the red mango curry, or the beef salad with mint!
I love trying new food all the time, and when a good friend of mine brought me to this amazing restaurant my son and I fell in love with the food but specially with the amazing people which my son now calls them uncle Tony and auntie Pat. The three of them are such sweet souls. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The food is delicious and they are amazing.
Plearn Thai Palace is very traditional this place with nice Thai food. They have their Singha beer, one can enjoy while eating spicy food. The restaurant is small in seating but seems to be popular for take outs.
Some of the best Thai food I have had in the States! The mango sticky rice was better than the ones I had in Thailand. Order the mango salad with shrimp, Tom Kha soup (some of the best I have ever had), and pumpkin curry (who knew pumpkin could be savory??).
I live coming to this place as the food and service is always great. My favorite dishes are Thai basil shrimp fried rice, chicken pad thai, yellow chicken curry and of course the sticky mango rice.
Wonderful tasting Thai food. Such clean flavors!!!

Stopped in here while super hungry and this place did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and hot made to order. Highly recommend the roti and the Say Tay. Everything we ordered was amazing and we didn’t even leave one bit of rice behind. 10/10
A hidden gem in Walnut Creek and an absolute must-try for Thai food lovers! After trying almost every Thai spot in the Bay Area, this one stands out as the best, hands down. The flavors are vibrant, perfectly balanced, and every dish we tried was a home run. The service was just as amazing, the waitress was so warm and welcoming, and the chef personally came out to check on us, which added such a thoughtful touch to the experience. Little details like that truly set this place apart. Don’t miss the Pad Thai, it’s hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The sweet and sour pineapple tofu dish was another standout, with a perfect blend of tangy and sweet flavors. They even boxed up our leftovers for us, which was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. This place has won me over, and I’ll definitely be back often. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and try this spot—you’ll be hooked!
The chicken wings are always good and their sweet and sour sauce is amazing. Super friendly staff.
Fantastic, charming little eatery. Pad see ew is the best I've had so far in the bay. Really love the purple rice used in the mango sticky rice too - dish feels more healthful somehow. Would definitely return!
You NEED TO EAT HERE!! I have been to over 100 Thai restaurants state wide. This restaurant is hands down the BEST Thai food I’ve had in my life. It’s better than all the others I’ve been to combined. Perfect flavors, relaxing atmosphere, and great service & pricing.
The food here is incredible! My husband & I order takeout from here at least 1x a week & it always hits the spot. Friendly owner/staff, clean restaurant & delicious food.
This is my favorite spot!! Incredible food, calm ambiance, all put together with flawless customer service!! I recommend the chicken yellow curry, but honestly the whole menu is fantastic!!

Wish they have a better Rest Room facilities.

This is a perfectly adequate thai restaurant. It appears to be a small family operation, and they were nice enough and service was decent and food was edible. I understand that this restaurant has been here a long time, so it seems like a reliable option. The atmosphere is okay. It's just a small restaurant with plain decor. Fairly basic but clean.

A big letdown to be honest. I had great expectations for this restaurant due to high reviews but I'm really not sure why after actually trying the food here. First I like the location; it's on the main street and has a quaint feel to it. The service is also good enough as the owners are courteous. However I do have two big problems with the food. It's way too expensive for the quality and the portion you get. For example there is no lemongrass in the Tom Yum soup and flavor is off. The soup feels like "watered down," and unfortunately that's the theme for the flavors. The curry (red curry) is also very much watered down. I like my curry thick and flavorful but the curry here is watery and unsavory. My other problem with the food is that the seafood especially the calamari rings are not fresh. A fresh calamari should be chewy without being soggy but the ones served have absolutely not chewiness at all which is a sign it's not fresh (not spoiled just not fresh). My biggest problem has to do with portion and price. With most dish over $24 with prawns it's hard to see any value especially with the quality of the dish. The portions are small and the price is expensive so when the flavor is not up to par I just can't say it's worth going. Overall I have a hard time recommending this place even if I like the interior and the service. My average cost per person (food only) is over $45 and each order of white rice is $4 which is just too high.

Small quiet Thai place. Came @2pm. Ordered Pad see ewe, was pretty decent but had a lot of wok bits in it. Parang Curry, doesnt come with rice and very watered down. No depth of flavor, richness, was very bland, needs fish sauce or something for depth. I let them know the dish was missing some obvious needed thai flavors. This dish nearly $19. The poor flavor unacceptable at this price.
Food lacked flavor. This was the first time I've had to add salt to Thai food. The meat in their entrees was very small portions. The chicken is shaved and the pork was hard to find in the fried rice. The restaurant is dated with old furniture and very basic interior design for Walnut Creek.

Just got take out food from them. The lady who got my order was very rude both on the phone and in person. I asked her to tell me how much each item was on my order and she did not want to take the time to tell me and instead aggressively responded “we already made you the food” which was not my concern to begin with. Both pad thais (chicken and beef) were the most bland food we ever had in our lives. So basic and there was absolutely zero veggies in them. Had to squeeze two whole limes and hot sauce in them just to be able to eat them. Absolutely not worth 26$ per dish. If the lady was nice and treated me with respect, i wouldnt even have bothered to come and write this review just for the taste of the food. But if you want to keep a business, you need to show respect!
