Residual Sugar Wine Bar Concord Reviews
Great cider! Good sliders combo! Chef Ryan did a great job with the mac and cheese also.

Another home run from this ownership group. The first residual sugar is great but this one is a little different, yet still keeping the same quality of service. More open and out door focused, this 'branch' makes me want to set up shop for a Sunday funday. Or a cool evening with friends.
Great wine and beer options, they also have a sports TV inside. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Good luck with parking…
A beautiful extension of their Walnut Creek location! Wonderful quick counter service, so lovely to enjoy a glass of lovely wine or a cold beer next to the fountain, or before you grab a meal nearby. Prices are a little steep, but most of the time the pours are generous. No complaints, a wonderful and needed addition in Concord!
Nice -looking small wine bar with an excellent selection of wines. Also has a small but quality selection of craft beers and cider. You can't get bored here! This one is located at The Veranda in Concord. They also have the original Residual Sugar Wine Bar in Walnut Creek. On a hot day like today, we all enjoyed the misters whe we were sitting outside. Truly a relaxing place to be.
Fun place to get a glass of wine and small bites before dinner and a movie. They have a large patio with lots of seating and fire pits. The staff is friendly and the music they play is always bumping. They have the option of ordering at the window or being served on the patio or inside which is awesome. You can get a glass of wine and sit next to a water fountain. During the winter months the Veranda has iceskating too.
Veeerrrryyy chill and laid back environment. It’s perfect for a date or for if you’ve had a long and hard day at work. The sommelier was very nice and conversed with us the entire time and always made sure that we were doing ok. The selections of wine there are excellent and very superb. The seating and the views there are very amazing as well. Oh and there’s food there as well! Yay!
Love this place, I come here weekly to unwind at the end of the week. I got to meet the owner once and she is so sweet and really cares about her customers
The service here is exceptionally polite and friendly. You have the option to enjoy your drink outdoors, which I found delightful. The location itself is great—clean and inviting. I enjoyed two IPAs during my visit, and they were absolutely delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

We love coming here for a little wine and snack. The location is awesome! A perfect place to people watch. It’s lively and interesting all day and into the evening. The seating is abundant and comfortable. They always have an interesting wine selection that changes periodically. I would give them 5 stars, however they don’t have very many vegetarian or Vegan options.
Good selection of wines and beers, including a few varietals that you don't see every day. Mostly recent vintages and NV wines, but good sippable wines that are excellent for waiting for a restaurant reservation (waits can be very long nearby!). A bit pricey for relatively simple wines, but it's a good location and service is always quick and there's plenty of seating.
Nice place to relax with a glass of wine while you charge your Tesla. They have interesting wines, but they are on the pricey side. Outdoor seating options are good.

Excellent. Staff was professional and accommodating even though the Co² & chef were out he let us enjoy our vino at our leisure and allowed us to enjoy our own snacks. West Coast hospitality much appreciated 🍷☺.
Great selection of several local brews on tap. Good service, though I've not been when it's busy. Tons of beautiful outdoor seating, as it's located by the theater with the fountain and misters. However, not nearly enough parking was planned into this complex for the amount of retail space.
Would be really cool if they put an actual menu on their website instead of a "philosophy statement" and headshots of the owners. That aside, the food was good and the staff was friendly. Very chill place to hang out. Only gripe is the fluff website without any useful or pertinent information.
Impressed with this new wine bar in the Veranda. We do visit Walnut Creek location often. We are happy to see the pours a larger than they used to be. We actually stopped going for awhile. Happy to see a more extensive food menu at this location as well. Be prepared to leave to use the bathroom though... Urgh... Good happy hour. Nice option to sit at the fire pit.
We have been to the Walnut Creek location many times and we were excited about the new Concord location. Very cool atmosphere but the first visit we got a short pours of wine. I ordered two Merlot's for my wife and myself. The bartender served us in white wine glasses and poured about 3 ounces. When we were finished with our glasses i brought them back up to the bar and told a employee named nate about the short pours, he apologized and said thats not how it should be. He asked where we were sitting and he said he was gonna see what he could do. We went back and sat down. he later brought us a new glass of wine and apologized again. After that, the owner later came up to us and genuinely apologized for the short pours, he stated their standard was 6oz so what we were served was incorrect. He seem to genuinely care about his business and their reputation and said they have been trying to do their best adjusting to the new opening. Based on the interaction with the owner Jim and his great customer service i changed my review to a 4 star and we will definitely be back.
Lovely wine bar, beautiful patio area, friendly service. We enjoyed a great red wine blend that they suggested. And huge thanks and shout out for carrying a couple of solid “craft” non-alcoholic beers (I love that option for the times that I’m not drinking alcohol, or the times that I'm only having one drink with alcohol before switching over to something else for the rest of the evening). Great place!

Come on , what you see in this picture is 34 $ , the wine was cold ? I'm not a wine professional but I never put my red on the refrigerator . 13 dollars for a the smallest amount of wine that I saw on any place except wine testing places. The cheese plate is 18$ for 1 piece of cheese, literally 8 cornichons and some cheap crackers, I don't know how the fennel salame is supposed to taste but it's supposed to have some flavor wich wasn't the case. Actually 2 stars is still good for the service I had .

Sunday 05/28/22 at 4 pm concord totally disappointed I'm costumer there for long time , that day I got worst costumer service ever was a line to buy drinks around 5 persons on the line waiting over 30 min to buy a drink just becouse a young man instead be a professional and help everyone he was dancing playing stupid jokes take his time to help the costumers. really 30 min in the line if 5 people's to buy wine glasses . thank u to residual sugar wine bar for this worst experience.
It pains me to give this place any less than 5 stars because it’s the perfect little oasis in Concord and exactly where I want to be on a warm Friday night with my wife and kid. Great tap list, great wine, lots of outdoor seating, mini Bellagio-style water show out front. The only problem is it is very popular and they’ve done nothing to adapt to the demand for drinks outdoors, which is generally about 80% of their business. At peak times they have one bartender working the inside, and only one working the window. Easily 20+ mins for a drink outside while the other bartender looks for ways to keep busy inside. Neither one ever seems to be in much of a hurry. I hope management reads this and considers a second bartender for the window on weekends (Friday evenings especially) or a server for those sitting outside. Will increase to 5 stars when this happens! Update 6/7/24: This is still a HUGE problem. 10 mins for a drink with only one customer in front of me. Beer was served in a small plastic cup with an inch of foam for $9. Reduced rating from 3 stars to 1.
