Fiddlestix Cafe Cornwall Reviews
My husband and I drove over an hour from the state of Pennsylvania to visit this quaint little cafe. We loved everything from the decor, to the music, the food and staff. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in town. Pictured: The Tommy ****** Egan breakfast burrito & the Firecracker lunch wrap.
Recently took my mom for brunch and we both loved the food. Coffee is great as well! Not the first time we come here and always enjoy our visit although this time my husband got the wrong order (due a communication misunderstanding)- the waitress offered to make the right one and he appreciated. His food was excellent regardless. The staff is cool and friendly. Love the fun graphic tees they wear!
Fiddlestix in Cornwall on the Hudson is delightful. We enjoyed breakfast at this comfy eatery right in the heart of town. The menu is creative and don’t miss the specials - the omelets looked colorful and yummy. I enjoyed two eggs scrambled with home fries, hash and a side of avocado! We split a waffle for the table and wish we had room for more. We also ordered a Holy Hotcakes Combo & Green Eggs & Parm 😳🥰 that cheese sauce! Yum 😋 and a Chaos A.D Enjoy the pics as smellavision has not been a vented yet. Get there early if you expect to get a seat and if you’re a coffee drinker you’re in luck bc our server sensed when we were getting low and was Johnny on the spot with refills.
Very small venue, so it gets crowded fast. Also it stinks that they only have one bathroom. But the food is GREAT. So worth being packed like sardines lol
What a great cafe! Lots of people enjoying great looking food. Service was excellent. Very clean restaurant. Staff was friendly. I had the Vegetable (Veggie) Patch which comes with a pasta salad and homemade tortilla chips. Absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients used. And I love the unique names of the menu choices. I highly recommend this place for a leisurely meal experience.
Food here was so good !! It took a lil bit but wait was worth it. Very cute, clean, cozy spot !!
Have been coming here for years before moving out of the area this last year. Got a chance to come to NY for Thanksgiving and had to make a stop in to my favorite breakfast place. The food and service is top notch with music that matches the theme perfectly. 5 stars Everytime.
Great food, and quick service. The place was packed when I went and tables didn't stay empty for more than a few minutes. The food was really good and I will gladly be going again soon.
The food was delicious. This is one of those small places you see on TV that doesn't look like much from the outside but has a great staff and ridiculously good food. They have weekly specials. The Feast of Hades was so unique and delicious.
Surprisingly good food in a cozy town! The Veg Head omelette is sooo fresh and good. Huge portion size and nice vibe!
Sundays my husband and I like to find new places to try. I looked up local breakfest places and this popped up. They have a large menu of savory and sweet items to choose from which I like. I ordered a waffle and side of hashbrown. The waffle was cooked perfect. Next time I'll go I'll get the strawberry cheesecake stuffed french toast.
Very nice place for breakfast and brunch. Has become our weekend breakfast spot. Food is always great.
Absolutely worth the wait! Quaint cafe where every meal is scrumptious, full of flavor! Very thought out Monthly themed specials
Fiddlestix is a can't miss experience, as the food is always delicious. They always have specials that have fun names, are creative and despite thinking some things wouldn't go together, you will be pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is perfect and the staff is always friendly and welcoming!
Fiddlestix is the old school breakfast/lunch spot that I remember from when I was a kid. Friendly faces, amazing staff, and great amazing home cooked food. The place is family friendly, in fact they have a giant chalkboard in the restroom where you can draw on it. The food is delicious, my daughter got the silver dollar pancakes and she tore them up. I had the pulled pork on a wrap, which was good. So of you're visiting the area of Cornwall and want a good old fashioned meal in a family friendly kick butt eatery, check these awesome folks out. Be prepared to wait though as they do get busy on the weekends. While you're waiting head on down Main St. and see what Cornwall offers.
Great little place. The food is very good and they have large portions. The service is great. Always busy but they are usually fast . Best kept secret around .
Excellent lunch spot! My friends and I really enjoyed our food and experience!
The perfect breakfast spot the hit after a long hike! I had a banana pancakes and Dam were they good! Great service too!
One of the best breakfast and lunch cafes in Orange county. Always original dishes. Always tasty and always more than enough for even a hearty appetite. Go and enjoy. Still great
Best small business restaurant in Cornwall. I love the home fries, crispy and well seasoned. The blueberry pancakes are also my favorites. If ever in Orange county NY, stop by you will not regret it
Food was awesome! Everything we ordered was delicious...chicken and waffles, eggs benedict, omelet, pancakes... Friendly service including the nice young man who took our drink order.
Delicious. Great specials. We love breakfast here the most. It is often very busy, so be prepared to wait. Homefries...yes, please.
What a hidden gem! It has a quaint atmosphere with great food and friendly staff! Amy was wonderful at taking care of us and making sure our coffee cups were always full! I can’t wait to come back!
Friendly and personable staff- Kaitlyn and Ian know what I like and their suggestions are always on point. The food is delicious. I feel like home when I come here. It’s cozy and intimate and I never feel rushed. ~ Dafny
The atmosphere is very homey and it reminds me of an old time diner. Food was delicious and service was somewhat fast.
This place was absolutely fantastic. The food is delicious and the servers were wonderful. If I am in the area, I will definitely stop in.
Best breakfast & lunch around hands down! Great staff, delicious and fun breakfast & lunch. Highly recommend for you food lovers!
Great food and a fun atmosphere. I ordered the special, and it was amazing
Great food, great service.
Always great food and always super pleasant service! Love their theme based specials. They always come up with the craziest, tastiest combinations.
The best food in Cornwall so far! Had the sticky bandit sandwich (ginormous, had to split it with my husband) and it was AWESOME. The place is super cute with a badass playlist too, I'll be back for sure.
The atmosphere is excellent. The chemistry between staff give you a family vibe. The food id excellent. My one and only favorite breskfast spot.I highly recommend this fine restaurant!!!
Thought this was a Starbucks, my bad I guess. They really should have accommodated me. TERRIBLE SERVICE. DON'T EAT THE EGGS. Starbucks has much better eggs. They were much faster than Starbucks, makes you wonder. No stars
Great place for brunch.
I had 2 pancakes and a side of sausages. My breakfast was delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and tasteful. I also had tea.
The BEST blueberry waffles, pancakes, top bird sandwich, VERY friendly and outgoing staff. My main go-to spot for breakfast/brunch!
Definitely the best breakfast in the area. Always great specials and the best diner style coffee. The service is very.... laid back. If you're in a rush you might be in for a tough time. Worth every minute
It just gets better with every visit! They hit it out of the park every damn time. The regular menu rocks, but the specials are out of this world! You won't be disappointed. If you are, it's you 😂
I went here on my lunch break, it was amazing. Absolutely the best panini sandwich I’ve had in a long time. Real delicious ingredients, and full of rich flavor.
Small but mighty. I was deeply impressed by the entire morning here. Extremely friendly staff to bring it all together.
OMG, everything is home made and incredible. Have Bern here several times for breakfast and lunch. Food is made fresh to order and never disappoints. Well worth a visit.
Everything on the menu is exceptional here. The staff is friendly and professional. The coffee is strong. This has become one of my favorite brunch places in the Hudson Valley. Check it out!
I had the most amazing sandwich today!!! I will be dreaming about it until I get another!!! “The God of Thunder” Spicy glazed fried chicken, bacon, tomato, house slaw, melted provolone, and blue cheese dressing on a toasted ciabatta roll. $15.00 Everything about it was delicious!!
Nice and cozy atmosphere with some hefty servings for breakfast. Got stuffed with The Roots waffles and fried chicken, delicious. Coffee was served in a large mug which reduces the number of refills needed yet they still offer them. Some of the hot sauces were extreme so be careful! 😂
These folks are really unique with their menu selections. Definitely some thought and passion put into their dish’s. I have visited twice so far and have left totally stuffed and supremely satisfied with the flavor explosion that took place in my mouth. Check them out you won’t regret it.
If you can handle a wait on busy mornings, this is by far the best breakfast in Cornwall. Has been for over ten years.
The food is 'over the moon', the service friendly, attentive and not overbearing. The atmosphere is like a friendly neighborhood diner...comfortable. You don't go to fiddlesticks for the atmosphere. The food is soooo good, it should be illegal.
Breakfast here is always amazing! You could go frequently and never get sick of the food because they always have interesting and delicious specials. You may have to wait a bit for your food, but it is worth the wait! It is decorated in a way that you’ll find yourself looking around frequently and finding new and fun things.
Very nice diner with a modern touch menu-wize. Nice selection, but not the usual 50page diner menu. Homey atmosphere, and great staff.
Love Fiddlestix. It’s our go-to for awesome sandwiches and breakfast. I check in weekly for the awesomely named specials but my wife is addicted to the “Top Bird” Turkey Reuben. Highly recommend.
The bomb !!! Food is always great n the service as well
First time here it was small but cute and the top bird was amazing and my fiancé loved the burger we will definitely be ordering again ❤️
Five stars across the board. Small little place but service was spectacular, the food was delicious, and I absolutely loved the music they play. This place is a whole vibe and I love it!
The best breakfast food we have found within 40 miles of West Point. Food was full of flavor. Outstanding. Our new go to spot.
Stopped in for lunch when I was in the area, had the special "full tilt boogie" sandwich. It was very good! Cool little place with a good atmosphere.
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Food is prepared with care and atmosphere is definitely down to earth. My server was super sweet and prompt, and i asked for modifications off their menu and they gladly accommodated. Will be back.
Take a little while for the food, since there's only one chef cooking, especially if you come on a busy day, so plan to spend some time here. But the food is worth the wait, we ordered the chicken w/ waffle and basic breakfast, everything is cooked really really well. Do yourself a favor and get a side of hollandaise sauce.
Food was delicious. We got there late so there was slim pickings but glad instill went
My husband and I arrived here for lunch on New Years Day. This seemed to be the only dining spot open in the area and there were a few folks waiting outside. A gentleman took our names and said that there would be a 35 minute wait. No problem, as we wanted to explore Main St. We walked down the street and discovered a small walkway between Main St and Broadway which was above a creek and had seating. Wonderful!. We received a call from the restaurant in 25 minutes. After being seated we observed the staff handle the packed restaurant with pleasant attitudes and a thorough focus on their jobs. The food was DELICIOUS! I observed a customer who ordered pancakes, and the server who placed the order on the table remarked that it was 1 pancake short and IMMEDIATLY retrieved another pancake. May I just state again that the food was delicious! We will always return here when we visit the area.
I love trying the awesomely named weekly sandwich specials and my wife’s go-to is the Turkey Reuben, aka the “Top Bird.” Always happy!
Fantastic food, and is always worth the wait. Seriously they take a while but it is totally worth it. Don't get mad thinking they are taking their time, they are just trying to make sure they don't bog down the kitchen. Their random specials are typically great, like their Chopped Cheese(a classic NYC staple), or Talk to Solomon (a take on a Cuban sandwich using waffles and Dijon hollandaise)
Wonderful little place for tasty breakfast foods! We arrived around 11am on a Sunday knowing we’d probably have to wait, but it was worth it!! We spent our 45-min wait across the street at Cornwall Coffee Co. & Mercantile sipping lattes, which was no problem at all (highly recommend!) The chicken & waffles (“The Roots”) was so good, and the “Green Eggs & Parm” was amazing! The staff was also super accommodating with food allergies and worked hard to get everyone taken care of!
Yum!! I don’t think I’ve ever had an omelette that was so flavorful. Absolutely make the trip to go for breakfast!
While some have complained about wait times for food, I actually like having that extra time. I can chat with my kid, my husband, whoever I may be spending my meal with. The food is always wonderful! The specials are always a fun way to explore something new.
Great food nice people only problem sometime there’s a long wait because there’s not a lot of tables but overall the food is worth the wait! I recommend trying the specials They are different almost every day. And they are very good. Every time I’ve had them. Or if you want to try a special then I would recommend trying the roots on the main menu if you have a sweet tooth like me.
The food is always good and good food takes time. Service is good and very friendly. Gets crowded fast.
Ordered take out lunch for 11 women - the assorted wrap platter with pasta salad and a tray of ceasar salad. It was such a hit!!! Everyone raved over the pasta salad, and they were eating the leftovers for breakfast the next day (never mind that we had assorted NY bagels and spreads)!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I absolutely love this place, it feels like you’re just hanging with friends enjoying a nice meal. It’s so relaxed and the foods great. Definitely a nice small town find. I went on a whim because I was new to the area and I’m glad I did. Oh and the coffee I legit go for the coffe stay for the food and atmosphere. I highly recommend the omelettes also. The egg was cooked perfectly and it was so flavorful. Weird to say about a omelette I know but trust me. Also you can’t go wrong with the home fries. Worth taking a trip for I highly recommend
Went on a Saturday around 1:30. Sat outside , which is always a good thing. Ordered a breakfast combo ( I think hungry man combo?) It included eggs, French toast, pancake, home fries and bacon. Generous portion, everything cooked perfectly and all of it delicious. Friendly service too. Will definitely go back and try lunch
Just visited here today and the food was awesome. I got a marinated mushroom panini with cheese and fresh greens. My friend got a sandwich with turkey, sautéed apple slices, and Vermont cheddar. We also had fries and onion rings, the entire bill was only $38 + tip.
So freakin’ good! It’s been a staple for my family and friend group since it opened in 2004. I live out of state now and every time I come back to town, I make sure to go to my favorite breakfast/ lunch spot. John’s cooking is amazing (I had the breakfast soup today and DAMN- so good) and you are always greeted with a friendly face. Highly recommend all around! Can’t wait to bring my kiddos when we all come back for Thanksgiving!
Taste treat great service food was really good. I had pancakes French toast with eggs and home fries. Coffee great. Food comes out quick I felt. Cute little place to for a date with you partner
Was in town for a family event and wanted something fun for breakfast. This place has great reviews and was close to our location. After a short wait, we were seated and our server was on it! Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I tried the omelet, wife had eggs Benedict, All delicious!
My son and I went here for the first time. Thought the food was great. Would highly recommend.
It's a local favorite. Sometimes the wait can be long, but it's worth it. The food quality is always very high.
¡Me encantó Fiddlestic Cafe! Los huevos Benedict estaban buenísimos y la camarera fue encantadora. ¡También me gustó que estuviera decorado para Halloween!
Place is adorable, Wonderful different menu choices. Coffee was good, food was very good.Place is small and gets really crowded. We had to wait awhile, but server told us which was much appreciated and food was worth the wait.
Great food. Excellent service. Love the atmosphere
Yum yum breakfasts and lunches!! Never disappoints!!
Was a great breakfast maybe a little bit slow especially for the amount of people in there, but they only have one cook. Food was delicious. Worth the wait.
I’ve been coming here every once in a while since I moved here seven years ago. The food is great but I wouldn’t come here on the weekends, WAY too crowded. Delicious food and very funny names on the daily menu. My only complaint this place is going through shrinkflation… less food and slightly higher prices. I remember they used to give so much food during breakfast I had to take some home. Now it’s like “ that’s it?”
The food is great here. The breakfast specials crush. Best breakfast in 5 miles. The dining area is small so you will wait during peak times for a table. If you have the time it’s worth the wait. The atmosphere is mediocre but the food and service make up for it.
The food was okay. It took a long time to get. In the end the noncash adjustment fee was unbelievable. Never seen before. Will not return. There are so many more places to eat without the fee.
First off, the area all around the main walkway leading up to front entrance and entire perking lot was a sheet of ice. I said something three times to staff about that. Dont know who is responsible but someone will get sued if a slip, fall & injury occurs. As far as the restaurant, how are you out of chopmeat so you can't get a burger? Then I was told I couldn't get waffles b/c the only waffle machine broke. Invest in 2 waffle machines & get chopmeat from elsewhere for weekend rush is my advice. The young waitress with dark hair didnt even greet us (hi, how are you, my name is) She just walked up to us & asked if we wanted coffee. To prove a point, I hi said hello then answered. Food was good and prices okay but areas above need attention.
The Food was good but the service was very slow. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Once we sat down it took them another 30 minutes to take our order.
It is a solid OK. Service is great. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is above average but not something you would go out of your way for. There are better options but it does the job. The blueberries in the pancake are bland. Some of the home fires were burnt. An egg in my eggs benny was overcooked. Other than that, it was alright. I would not wait an hour for this again.
Came in for breakfast and thought the food was excellent! It’s a small place but doesn’t feel crowded. The ambiance is wide open with the cooktop/kitchen visible. The vibe is rock, sports, etc. I had their chicken and waffles which was really good and my wife had one of their combos with eggs, hash browns and French toast. She loved it. Now for the bad stuff. The service was poor. I want to be clear - the staff refills water and coffee regularly, but our meals took nearly 35 minutes to come out after we ordered. That’s a ridiculous length of time to wait for breakfast. Another issue was that at least 2 tables that were seated after us got their food before us. That feels like a mistake to me. The other things was that we were there on a cold morning and they were bringing materials in through the back door which was open for about 10 minutes letting cold air in, so much so that we both had to bundle up…while sitting indoors!! Not cool - yes pun intended. So the food was excellent. Service was good but the wait for our food was exceptionally long. Being seated before another table, but they get their food first is never a good thing. Finally, maybe stock your supplies before opening on a Saturday morning. It’s possible that we caught them on a bad Saturday morning, but the service deficiencies were noteworthy.
Not worth it. 45 minute wait - closer to an hour - which is fine good for them for being busy! But once we were finally seated it was an hour and a half before we got our food (4 sandwiches). At one point we looked around and not a single table had food. Service was slow all around, took forever to get water. Overall I wish I liked the place more.
Went in on a hot day. Air conditioner not working very well. Spraying some sort of mist. Ordered the On and On, South of Philly which was not very good. Gave me digestive issues when I got home. There were quite a few flies in the restaurant as well. Waiter was friendly.
The food was phenomenal, but the service was abysmal. The day we went was busier than usual. We were quoted a 45 minute wait. No problem. An hour and a half later in went in to check and was told “we were next”, but saw that 6 parties who were on the list after us had already been seated. Another 30 minutes later we were finally seated. We ordered drinks and breakfast (although at this point it was lunch time) and waited another 30 minutes for our food. The saving grace of this spot was the creative and delicious menu. We had to ask for drink refills and cutlery. But they were very efficient with providing and collecting the check. Worth the 2 1/2 hours? No, but on a day when no one else is there, it would be. Also of note, the building is falling apart and the restroom opens to the dining area with a door that doesn’t close properly or lock at all.
My daughter and I were trying this place for the first time. We walked in and the first thing we noticed was how incredibly loud the music was. The place is very small so having music that loud made it impossible to hear each other speak. We sat down and 6 inches above our heads hung a very dirty bright metal light that made us feel like we were being interrogated. The light bulb was so bright that within 10 minutes of being there we were both sweating. The waitress came over and took our order. We both ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, one side of home fries, 1 hot coffee and 1 iced coffee. A very simple order so we thought. The coffee came right away but after that we waited 50 minutes without a server coming to the table once before I got up to ask if our order was started yet. My intentions were that if it had been started we’d ask to take it to go and if not we’d just pay for the coffee and leave. The waiter tried his best to ask the cook if he had started the order yet but was clearly apprehensive about asking him as he looked like he was already extremely angry. When he finally answered the waiter, he said he had started it. I then asked the waiter if it was ok to get it to go and he said yes and I went back to my seat. 10 min later the waiter very politely came over with our order in a take out bag, we paid and left. Horribly run establishment and extremely rude kitchen staff. Needless to say we’ll never be going back to this place again.
Walked up to enter at 1:05p on Sunday and they had a cardboard sign where written in sharpie it stated that they had already seated their last customers for the day. While this is fine, their hours should be modified accordingly on Google as well as their website. Both currently state that they are open until 3:00p.
