Boudin SF Costa Mesa Reviews
It was my first time trying this restaurant, and we ordered the Chicken Parm, Chicken Pesto, and Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. The service was quick, and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place!
Boudin SF in Costa Mesa impresses with excellent baked goods and fresh, healthy snacks. The inviting atmosphere makes you want to order more – and it doesn’t disappoint. The consistently high quality of the food fully justifies the prices. A well-rounded concept that makes for a delightful break.
On a cold, wet and miserable day here in Southern California, I decided to try BoudinSF because the thought of a good tomato soup in a bread bowl, with a grilled cheese sandwich sounded just too good to pass up. IT WAS YUM!!!!!! It’s easy here to order; just place your order at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table and they bring it out when it’s ready. It’s very good value, and the food was great. The grilled cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the soup was delicious inside a tasty bread bowl. It didn’t take long to come out - even though they were pretty busy at this time of day - and overall it was a great lunch spot. It seems like their breakfast would be good too, as they have a nice sounding menu, so perhaps next time I’d try a breakfast here. In the meantime, I highly recommend trying this out if you haven’t already; great value for money, in a clean restaurant and delicious food.
Came here very hungry and wanting to sit down, was able to sit and have a nice meal without waiting long during the christmas shopping season! The quality of the food was amazing, the grilled cheese sandwiches were amazing with the tomato soup and I loved that they fried the parmesan into the bread. Had a great experience here and will be back
Boudins is always such a treat. I always get the clam chowder with a bread bowl, my partner had reward points for a free loaf of sourdough bread which was awesome! Every Boudin from the original one in SF to all the others are always a unique experience to go to. Don't hesitate to try them if you haven't gone before!
I absolutely love their food! Their bread bowls are sumptuous, and the soup is rich. Their sandwich melts are delicious, and their cookies are soft, chewy, yet chunky. I think it's worth the price.
Boudin SF, is located on 3333 Bristol st. Costa Mesa, CA. We had rustic tomato & butternut squash soup in a bread bowl and California veggie sandwich with green! Very tasty and enjoyable 😉 😋
Patty melt, wedges, garlic cheesy bread fresh and delicious. Bread soft on point. They have clamchowder in sourdough bowls too!

I hadn't been here in awhile so I decided to drop in. I was greeted by Teresa G. at the register and she was absolutely the sweetest! She was of great assistance selecting a tasty pastry and when i asked if the tuna melt was great, she said, "Everything here is great!" Loved her smile and honesty! She was correct! Hands down, THE BEST TUNA MELT ! With my Boudin app I earned a free sourdough bread! The reatraunt was so clean and the young lady (her name was V cleaning the tables was friendly and attentive clearing tables for other customers. If you are shopping at the stores near here, pop in and enjoy some yummy food! I sure will!!
my family and i decided to have dinner here since we were done shopping across the street. we got the chicken club, 4 cheese pizza, chicken pesto sandwich, clam chowder, and chicken tenders with fries. the chicken club was nice and filling but not too filling as well as the chicken pesto sandwich. i liked that part about the sandwiches as we didn't feel too stuffed. the clam chowder was nice, warm, and delicious. and the chicken tenders, nothing special, yet nothing to complain about. their ranch was good as well. definetely recommend!

I decided to have dinner here over the weekend. I haven’t been here in years and was excited to try their chicken pesto sandwich. My mom got their bread bowl with clam chowder. There is seating inside and outside. Would definitely recommend this place.

All in all the menu is awesome. The only complaint we have was the very unfriendly socially inept cashier taking our order. The management takes blame for this putting her in customer service at the forefront. And..not to mention her very disgusting nose ring. Please find better help to equal the wonderful cafe.
Wow! In comparison to the sandwich I had yesterday, this was stellar. The caprese sandwich was great. The turkey-havarti sandwich is the *only* thing that took a star off. The bread, though delicious, was a little tough/chewy/hard to eat. Which is a bummer because it makes the sandwich ingredients slip out. The soups were fantastic! ( Clam Chowder and Broccoli Cheddar) I will be back.
When one thinks of clam chowder, it's hard not to picture Boudin and its bread bowls and ornately bakery items shaped like turtles and alligators. The Food: Naturally I ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl while my wife got the Southwestern chicken salad. The clam chowder serving seemed small at first, but I was satisfied by the end after eating part of most of the bowl's "lid." The salad came in a huge ceramic bowl -- definitely a plus. The Taste: For store-bought clam chowder on the West Coast, it's hard to beat Boudin. It's always consistent and always satisfying. Meanwhile, the salad was quite good. The crispy chicken was moist and flavorful, the avocado fresh and buttery, and the seeds, leaves, and tomatoes were all fresh. The Price: It's definitely not cheap, but the $15+ I paid for the salad was made less painful by the fact that the portion was huge. I was expecting a tiny bowl and like 3 pieces of chicken. Happy to report that Boudin did not cheap out. And while I was hoping for more soup for what we paid for the claw chowder, it's delicious enough to buy again on occasion. The Conclusion: Simply put, we'll be back!

Well we absolutely love Sourdough and when in Nor Cal Boudin is an obligatory must have. Reality So Cal isn't the same experience. Service was good pretty very rudimentary. Not RUDE at all. Just basic. I order via Kiosk take a number and out comes my meal delivered to the table. Sourdough bowl chowder is ok had large chunks and a tasty base. Bread was a little chewy. Salad again was Ok. Location is busy and could use a deep clean and some upgrades. After all it's OC so might need to step it up. Highly recommend the turkey cranberry sandwich.
French dip sandwich was dry, bread was chewy. Chili bowl was tasty
I requested the duo option ( sandwich & soup ) Clam chowder soup was great but Italian sandwich bread was like a brick and chewy. Restroom dirty, no soap on dispenser. Softh drink dispenser out, of syrup on 3 drink options. Good customer service at least.

Today I was given about 40% of the regular portion of salad which I always buy . Was nothing to eat !!! Salad usually was served in big plate, but today they put very small plate inside the big one, and salad was served inside the small plate. I left this place hungry and felt cheated

I have been coming here for a long time, today’s customers service was awful I’m not sure if he was just having a bad day and just ready to go home but EDUARDO G was a piece of work. He was being condescending and rude I was just wanting to know the type of bread…!
