Taquería El Mariachi Cristóbal Colón Reviews
One of the best places on the east coast I order the burrito Always the guacamole and the home made salsas are so good My family gets the tacos both are great chicken & steak very authentic flavor The quesadillas are good too
Once you visit, you’ll end up going at least once a week. The food is great and truly delicious. The red and green sauces are fantastic. I swear, it’s the best restaurant within five miles.
A small but welcoming part of Mexico. Serving traditional mexican dishes with the latin touch. We've been there several times and tried many options. The recommendation, try Pork Fajitas, Tacos al pastor, Huaraches and Tostadas. The best of them all. Portions are big so go there hungry. There are not many options on drinks low or with no sugar. Only Tamarindo they have is a bottled one. "Se habla español", and that's very much appreciated.
authentic AFFORDABLE Mexican food and it's delicious! I've lived in JC my entire life, this is the best Mexican spot in town. the people are great too which is a bonus. they also make my favorite hot sauce.
I really enjoyed my food, I'll definitely be goi back, especially since its close to where I am often😋 great service, its a cool little spot. I had the Mole chicken, was so good.
My fiancé and I met back in 2019, and this place quickly became a staple for us. We spent so many early days getting to know each other over meals here. Even though we don’t live in Jersey City anymore, we still travel from NYC just to do takeout. That’s how special this spot is to us. The staff are incredibly kind, hardworking, and genuinely good people. Their chicken tacos are an absolute must. We’ve had tacos from different places but never as good as Mi Mariachi.
Dare I say this was the simplest yet most flavorful veggie burrito of my life! Nachos were alright, but the salsa verde was again simple and hit the mark, although I expected pico de gallo as well. I’m going back countless number of times now
One of the best authentic Mexican Restaurants in Jersey City, a classic spot still delivering great taste, portions and authenticity. Mi mariachi continues to be a great Mexican restaurant, their food continues to be great. The food here is always great, the amount of food you get for the price is outstanding. I mean Tacos, Tostada, Sopes, Burritos, everything taste great. I've been having their Birria Tacos on my last two visits, and they've been delicious. They offer take out and pickup if you call ahead of time. I suggest you try - Tostadas de Tinga, al pastor - Birria Tacos - Tacos al Pastor - Bistec de Palomilla with rice, beans, avocado You'll thank me. They also offer delivery, staff is always friendly.
If you're looking for great Mexican food near Journal Square, Mi Mariachi is as good as it gets. This restaurant is a family owned business. Just a few blocks away from the Journal Square Path train. Inside, they have seating and you can usually see a Mexicana abuela in the kitchen on the grill, so you know it's authentic. They typically have waitress service for dine-in. Everyone is generally very nice. Ive only had a few dishes here, but everyone single one tasted excellent from the tacos, to the burritos, and oh boy the fajitas are my hands down favorits. You can typically expect a 10-15 minute wait for dishes to be prepared, which is well worth it. And the prices here are all fair, fajitas run $10 -$14 depending on your choice of meat. With that said, they only accept cash bills and quarters. Yes, that means no dimes, nickels, or pennies - go figure. Overall, Mi Mariachi has the best Mexican food for the money you will find anywhere near Journal Square.
I love this place. We used to order food from here at least 3 times a week before we moved away from jersey city. One of the most authentic and best mexican food to get in jersey city. Veggie burrito, al pastor tacos, chicken burrito and chicken fajitas are our usual order. Ask them to add onion and jalapeños in burritos. If you love tacos, get spicy pork tacos, carnitas tacos. Great food. Never had bad experience.
We ordered tongue tacos and they were delicious. The first time I tried it was in Bronx and I didn't care for it, but this Mexican restaurant, Mi Mariachi, cooked it so well that we went again and ordered it again. This time, I ordered also champurrados to compare with the Filipino champorado. They were delicious but a little too sweet. Other than those, I would go back and try other things on the menu. I'm sure they're just as delicious.
Do NOT order online. I'm disappointed because I like their food, (well, usually I like it, but this time I don't know because they never actually completed my order), but now I know to only call or walk in. I ordered online, received a confirmation email and an estimated delivery time of 50 minutes. 90 minutes later, I call the phone number listed on the confirmation email to ask about the order. They answer the phone and tell me they did not receive the order and don't send confirmation emails, and suggested I had ordered from a different restaurant. I repeat that I ordered online, received an email that said they received the order, and this was the phone number listed on the email. Then they check again, see the order IS there, and told me they missed it earlier. But they are now closed, so I'm out of luck. I'm not sure why they even answered the phone if they were closed. So, the lesson learned is do not try to order online. They may not check their online orders and you will be waiting for an hour and a half for food that isn't actually coming.
