Hot Wok Cypress Reviews
Excellent meal and our waitress took care of our table with excellence! We never had to ask for anything, she served before we ask. Give this restaurant a try!
I'm a frequent customer One time they forgot to put my side of rice in a takeout order. They said that I could get a free side the next time I came in and they seriously honored it. Like they had my name and number at the register waiting for me. I thought that was really cool. Most places would not go to that extent they would hope that you would forget. The waitress is great and the food is always hot and fresh.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Fairfield. Food. The portions are good and delicious, there is always something for everybody. Prices on all the menu are reasonable. Service. Always friendly and attentive. It doesn't matter if you are there to dine in or to pick up your take out order, you are always welcome with a smile. Atmosphere. The place is small, but welcoming and seating haven't been a problem for me and my family. In conclusion, this is an amazing neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and very nice service. The cost-benefit ration here is just great.
Delicious food, very friendly staff, great service! And our sweet waitress even brought our child a lollipop at the end of our meal. Will definitely be back!
I do a take out whenever I don’t feel good and feel like comfort food/soup. Love their house special wonton soup. This is my favorite place for this soup.
Hot Wok always has fast and friendly service. Their food hits the spot every time and is a week night go-to!
The food is really good and the absolute best part about them is that if you order delivery it is usually there within 15 or 20 minutes, the order has always been correct every time I've ordered it which is huge and the food is so hot when it first gets delivered you can't even eat it yet! I would highly recommend this place to anyone as they are absolutely amazing!
We have been going to Hot Wok for 2 years. Always great service and the food is fresh. When we don't have time to go, we order delivery and it is always great.
Great food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
I went during lunch and it was not super packed. My waitress was very nice and attentive. My food came out pretty fast and I got a great lunch special.
My husband and I came here Sunday around 2:30 after shopping at the outlet mall today. We enjoyed our grab ragoon, pepper steak and bourbon chicken. I had the pepper steak and the steak and peppers were delicious. My husband’s chicken was very tender. I was jealous even though I love my pepper steak lol we both love our meals and will come back.

Food was tasty and was brought out very quickly. It also has a nice family atmosphere. The sweet & sour shrimp was very delicious.
Nice local restaurant. Very tasty dishes with plenty of variety. Atmosphere is pleasant and the service is always excellent. Prefer to dine in but the take out is just as good. Staff is always friendly and professional.
Visited this place last night after five years. Delicious food. Fair prices. Attentive waitress. Good ambience. We got sesame chicken, orange chicken and pepper steak. Hot and sour soup, egg drop soup. Highly recommended!
Love coming here! Great food at a great price. The customer service is exceptional! I look forward to eating here.
Great experience with our to-go order from this Asian restaurant. Everything was perfectly packed, neat, and secure. The food was very tasty, and my kids absolutely loved the dumplings! We’re definitely looking forward to coming back to dine in next time. Highly recommended!
We get take out from here regularly. The food is consistently good. They always get our order correct and are very polite. Definitely recommend them.

The kids and I came here for a quick bite before we went grocery shopping. The service was good. The won ton soup was really good and you could tell the dumplings were homemade. I ordered the pad thai (pictured) ...it was ok, but not the best I have had. The kids had orange chicken and sesame chicken....both were ok but again not the greatest. Egg rolls and crab puffs were delicious and stuffed full!
Food was ok. Portions and price were good. Too much celery in the Cashew Chicken. Server was incredibly friendly. Watched sports while we ate on the two tvs.
This place is small but mighty the food here is so so delicious, with a touch of class . The price is very reasonable for such a good meal. Try and be hooked

my mom had the veggie lo mein, I ordered the mongolian beef and my dad had some spicy beef that starts with an s. I like noodles so my dad and I ordered beef dishes with a side of noodles instead of rice but the noodles came in a separate box and were bland. you can mix them in with the food and it gives the noodles more flavor. my mom liked her veggie lo mein so much. I would come back just because she wants to but not because I loved the food. maybe the fried rice is better, i’ll try that next time.
2 1/2 Stars Been here 3 times. It was good when they 1st opened and down hill since then. I threw away the menu after this visit. Online order - Take Out - Listed Cash Only but they do take CC BoBo Platter: Shimp was heavily breaded and under-cooked, Everything else was over cooked. Chicken Sticks was like Jerky. General Tso's Chicken - Fair - Soaked in sauces making if it soggy. Szechuan Beef - Good, beef was tender and flavored. Mongolian Beed - Not Good. Beef was over-cooked and tough. Fried Rice: Not good, seems like old brown rice, no vegetables or egg.

Got takeout. Just be warned, if you order online you have to enter a tip to complete the order. I was also charged a processing fee. $5.50 in fees. Not cool.
Vegetable fried rice looked and tasted burnt. There wasn't any flavor to it other than burnt oil maybe, it was not a pleasant taste or smell. It unfortunately was not edible. The egg drop soup was good though. Just won't be back after the experience with the rice.
Ridiculous! How you going to charge $2 for 2 oz of Srirachi sauce and have a $5 minimum purchase for debit card? Like why do I even have to pay extra? Shouldn't at least minimum one 2 oz be included with a purchase? I wouldn't have had to pay if I sat down to eat because a bottle would be on the table. Makes no damn sense. I would have given 4 stars cause the food is ok but that extra charge is stupid. Lost a long time customer for that. And I even tipped for a to go order. Bye
Ripped off $14 for a tray of orange chicken , didn’t fill it up empty basically. Overly price for the amount they give you. Won’t be returning
Never have an issue ordering. Today I got additue and just a little portion. Order beef and broccoli but asked for no broccoli she puts carrots in it. Ask her to remove it because my mother doesn't like the carrots and doesn't want it made with it. She said can't you just pick them out. Yes if it were my dish. So she takes it to the back and pulls the carrots out and brings it back with less meat. So I had to order another dish. Didn't want rice she said it's going to be the same price. I said ok. I get " wow that's expensive." Well yeah 13$ for just beef and sauce is expensive. Next time I'll go somewhere else. Never had that kind of service here. Honestly made me not want to come back.
Service was good…but food was terrible. Got the General Tso’s Shrimp and Wonton Soup. The GTS tasted as if it came from a bag. The breading was soggy, sauce super thick, and just wasn’t worth the price. Wonton soup was sad… How do you mess up Wonton Soup? The dumplings were anything but dumplings - barely any meat…all noodle, broth had very little flavor and was watered down… just a hollow shell of what could be a good soup. It was so bad I feel personally attacked by this soup. Save your money and go elsewhere.
If you're going to eat here, you'd better like celery, because that's what you're going to get. I took out the celery and there was barely any food left. What the heck. Service is ok, food tastes ok, but what are you guys doing?? Blatant rip-off. I won't be back.
They nickel and dime you on everything. My kung pao chicken came with everything but chicken. Like the other reviews, they use celery as a filler, even other similar places don’t even have celery in the recipe. I do not recommend this place.
I ordered a delivery order and the egg drop soup is way too thick/sticky, I believe they added too much corn starch, just disgusting. And the chicken sticks were overcooked, the chicken is tastes old and hard. All other 3 dishes just okay. NOT recommend at all.

I started to love this place so much that it was my go to during my lunch break but now I am so disgusted. A day ago I ordered a lunch special kung pao chicken with fried rice and crab Rangoon’s and I noticed the rice looked like the chef slapped some soy sauce and that’s it. Well as soon as I was eating I noticed something shinning that I never seen before in there kung pao chicken and as soon as I picked it up it was a small GLACÉD ROACH!!🪳 I stopped eating immediately and threw away the rest of my food that I was feeling sick. The sad part is THE ROACH LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THE FRIED RICE!!!👏👏👏 UGH SO NASTY!!! I AM NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!🤢🤮🤮🤮
This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered standard house fried rice, but requested extra bean sprouts. They charged an extra $2.00 for bean sprouts?! Then upon arrival, the portion was HALF the size of other comparable Chinese establishments, and they charge $12 for the smaller portion. THEN, I get back to my office, open up, dig in, and the rice is almost soggy or mush, and the beef wasn't cooked all the way through. I wasn't impressed and wouldn't recommend it. 😒
Went in today. Only 4 people were served. My little brother just sat there with us at the table and we were charged a tip fee. The reason for them was due to the fact that we had 5 people sitting at the table. So if you bring more than 4 ppl to the table and one is not eating double check your receipts. The lady kept arguing with me that the computer added the fee and nothing was to be done.
My husband and I used to order from here once a month, today we tried to order and they said they would only take online orders, that would be fine except their online platform now says they won’t deliver to us. I called today to make an order and she said “only online” when I explained my dilemma before she even asked my location she said “oh we don’t deliver to you. Too far.” To which I said “Not true, we’re frequent customers since 2021 and you’ve ALWAYS delivered to us.” Mind you we live 9 minutes away.
I have been coming here for years since I moved to Fairfield and it has always been delish! Today I changed my usual order to try something new. Ordered Mongolian Delight. When I got home, the entree was full of ONIONS and a small amount of chicken, beef and 2 shrimps! The onions took half the bowl which my every bite was full of onions! I separated the onions and the meat in which I will provide a picture of it with the exception of 2 shrimps I had eaten. The plate on the left is all ONIONS! I called the place and complained but was told that that’s how the plate is served. I told the lady nowhere on the menu stated that it was half a pound of ONIONS at all! That for future reference to our that on the menus description instead of expecting the actual beef, chicken and shrimp with magnolia sauce. Very very disappointed!
Not only is the portion sizes small for the price you served me burnt rice!!! Never again!

Food is okay at most and the lack of portion and size is very disappointing. Only come here for lunch because they skimp out too much on other foods. I recommend other places like TJames China Cafe than this.
Went in earlier today and I came and grabbed a big order of four lunch specials and a large egg drop soup as I was eating my egg drop soup there happens to be a fly in my soup. This is absolutely unacceptable. This is going to push me away from eating from this place ever again and if this is the quality I find on a Delivery I can’t imagine how the food looks dinning in
My husband and I went to this restaurant to eat, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. As soon as we walked in, the restaurant smelled very bad. When the food was served, there was a horrible burnt smell coming from the kitchen. At first, I thought it was just something in the kitchen, but it turned out that the smell was coming from the rice — it was completely burnt and tasted awful. My husband ate a little, and I tried it as well, but we ended up leaving most of the food on the plate because it was simply not edible. I politely explained the situation to the waitress, but she told me that since we had already eaten some of the food, they would not replace it and would still charge us for it. I told her that it was fine, I would pay for it, but that they had just lost good customers. In the end, they chose to lose loyal customers over $12.50, which I believe was the cost of the house rice, instead of trying to fix the problem or provide good customer service. I do not recommend this place.
I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, and it was terrible. Mostly breading. I actually had 2 pieces that were all breading ... No chicken. And absolutely soaked in grease. Will never order from here again.
