Mexican Sugar Dallas Reviews
Came here for my daughter's birthday dinner. Everything from the door to seating and food was amazing. Our server Julio was great he made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. If you love Mexican food this is definitely the place for you 10/10 highly recommend.
The food was really good. Parking is validated for up to 3 hours. Not a big rush at 11am on a Saturday. Ordered the park chop and eggs.
I ordered their vegetarian enchiladas on their recommendation. The oyster mushrooms were thoughtfully prepared, giving the dish depth without making it heavy, and the nopales added a subtle brightness that kept everything balanced. The sauces complemented the filling rather than overpowering it. The rice on the side was particularly good well-seasoned and clearly made with care. Overall, it’s a refined, well-executed vegetarian option that reflects quality ingredients and attention to detail.
I'm recommending this restaurant to everyone I know! You will be drooling, their food is so delicious! The atmosphere is so cool and welcoming and the wait staff are polite and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and not over priced.
Found my new favorite espresso martini! The inside was cozy and the food was delish! The service was a little slow but in my opinion everything else totally made up for it! I would definitely come again!
First time at Mexican Sugar and will definitely be coming back!! Jose was PHENOMENAL! He had great recommendations, and was so sweet and attentive. Couldn’t have had a better experience!
Always the best service, food and drinks! Such a great location for any occasion. One of the best Espresso Martinis I’ve ever had!
First time experience and it was AmAzInG!!!! Had the chicken and steak fajitas - with {the most} delicious garlic butter and herb sauce to top that you will NOT regret ordering!! Atmosphere was a little loud, so go with someone, or someone's, you don't mind getting close to :) And, our server Shanice was absolutely wonderful - she was very attentive, had an awesome personality and catered to our every request!! Come visit!!
Had a wonderful experience having a Christmas Eve dinner with my mom. Our server, Leslie, was an angel who answered every question we had. Highly recommend happy hour drink deals. We had frozen margs before I switched it up with the hibiscus option (was perfect, not too sweet). The enchiladas were solid, especially liked the salsa verde which had a little natural sweetness (I’m thinking from the tomatillos). The highlight of our meal was the queso; I even ordered some to go for Christmas Day. The salsa was also great, nice and smoke-y (it could’ve had a little more heat but delicious regardless). On our way out my mom dropped a clip from her bag and one of the staff spent a few moments helping us look for it; again, something they didn’t have to do but really sealed in how lovely our experience was with the staff. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Dallas for drinks and more of their queso!
Wow, what great place. Cool vibe and decor, friendly staff and great menu. I stopped in for lunch and had the Mole Chicken enchiladas' $16.99. They were fantastic and came with black beans and cilantro rice. The meal came with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and came with a warm red salsa, and we're presented immediately. I have never had warm salsa before and it was great. I also tried the margarita trio, $22.99 and all three were very unique and flavorful. I can't recommend Mexican Sugar enough. Enjoy!
I will definitely have to give this place a 10 out of 10. The atmosphere, the food, everything was a vibe. Me and my boyfriend went because we wanted a semi rooftop experience. And the weather is starting to get perfect for outdoor sitting. The queso is definitely a plus. The margarita flight is really good, if you like spicy watermelon or something similar to a bloody Mary you will get all three flavors of the margarita flight. But the hibiscus and the original margarita were the best ones to me. The waiter asked me that I want to try all three and if I didn't like one of them he would take it back. I thought he would just take it back and bring me another glass, he end up bringing me a whole other flight that I did not have to pay for. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we were there until close, we had a phenomenal time!!
First of all, Leslie and Esme were lovely, friendly, and informative servers. Second, can we talk about the atmosphere? It is in such a beautiful part of town. This is where you go to have some delicious food and unwind. And finally, one of my favorite things to do is treat myself on my one day off a week from two jobs, at a place that feels good, has friendly service, and has colorful food with bright flavors. And the happy hour, hello, from 2 to 6 PM you can get all kinds of drinks for only seven dollars. What? I had a hibiscus frozen margarita, then I tried the mango one, I got chips and queso blanco, and this beautiful, bright citrusy sea bass. I’m coming back and I’m bringing friends. Edit: OK I couldn’t resist and I stayed to get the freshly deep-fried churros with three dipping sauces. Good Lord. Edit2: And one more margarita because it’s still happy hour. Sangria swirl baby. So my bill estimate will be a little bit higher because I ordered all the extra things including a slice of chocolate cake to go for my best friend who just became an uncle yesterday. Otherwise I could’ve gotten out of here easily for around $50 including tip.
The Search for best Salsa is over. MEXICAN SUGAR has it. Explorers always are in search of important things. Cities of Gold. Atlantis. Fountain of Yourh. Life anywhere in the Cosmos. When it comes to one of the most important things in life, like, the best Salsa. Go to MEXICAN SUGAR. It's served steaming hot. Has a flavor i didnt think was possible. Proper technique includes: select a good chip then pluge it into the Salsa. Bring it to your mouth. Savor the complex combination of flavor, spice and temperature. Wash away with a cold beer or craft margarita. BTW, excellent atmosphere and staff Definitely a 5 Star.
We stopped here for brunch on Saturday on our way back to Houston and our Waitress was literally the sweetest! I couldn’t remember her name but so I inserted a screenshot 😭! She was so kind & attentive. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and this was a perfect end to our trip . It was raining and we were indecisive about sitting outside & the hostesses were patient & accommodating . The patio upstairs is impeccable & the food was great! 10/10 !
Amazing food and atmosphere... Fresh ingredients and high quality food that will impress... I cannot say enough good things about how good this place is.... Mari was an amazing server that made us feel welcomed... She also did a great job of explaining the menu and options... I definitely recommend Mexican Sugar and look forward to returning... Also high end quality cocktails and adult beverages... Impressive selection and quality.
An amazing restaurant with an amazing view. We came here to celebrate my granny’s retirement and each of us enjoyed our meals. The salsa definitely has a unique taste. I will say the portions of the meals don’t quite match the price but that does not take away the great service and atmosphere of this restaurant. Also appreciate the validated parking.
Sebastian was amazing he took great care of us and his attention to detail was top tier will definitely come back

We visited this restaurant before a DSO performance instead of eating at the Meyerson. Mistake. Mediocre at best. Sangria glass only half full, including the ice. It was tasteless.
It was my first time visiting, and I chose this place because many of my friends recommended it for the vibes and the food. Overall, the food was great and it was a lovely way to celebrate my birthday. That said, I do have two complaints: my friend found a fake nail in his food, and later while we were sitting and chatting, I felt something on my arm near my armpit—it turned out to be a roach. The vibes really are great, but those two experiences were definitely off-putting.
We didn't have the best experience with food or service but the view and the vibes were incredible!
