Husband and I went for our first anniversary dinner and it was the best meal of our lives!! Amazing food, presentation, atmosphere, team and service. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I rarely leave reviews, but after visiting this place and reading through others' comments, I felt compelled to give it the well-deserved 5 stars. The 22% gratuity is entirely fair—if anything, it’s less than what should be tipped at a place like this. This experience wasn’t just a meal; it felt like dining with family. The chefs went above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere, making us feel known and cared for, while serving impeccably crafted dishes that clearly took time and skill to prepare. For anyone who left hungry, it’s worth noting that fine dining isn’t about leaving overly full, like at an all-you-can-eat buffet. This isn’t Texas Roadhouse, after all. Here, quality takes precedence over quantity. The chefs were genuinely warm, almost like friends, and it’s rare to find a restaurant where I want to return not only for the food but also for the outstanding hospitality. Well done, team—this place is truly one of a kind!

S U S H I • B A R 🍣👌😮‍💨 Dallas, I’m still in awe from last nights omakase experience at @sushibarrestaurant. From the start to the end, everything was spectacularly delicious. Their fish is flown from all over the world and cured & prepared to perfection. 16 courses flowed seamlessly after one another. The sake pairing from Taylor, their sommelier was 👌👌. My personal favorites of the night were the Ora King Salmon with Vietnamese caramel nước mắm, A5 wagyu with miso butter and caviar and Otoro with shave foie gras 💋 10/10 highly recommend you dine here! — $165/pp Drinks and add-ons additional $$ —

A literal hole in the wall sushi bar. Great food & drinks. Friendly staffs. Each piece of nigri of the omakase feels fulfilling and worth biting into. The sake and japanese whiskeys pairing are great. The ora king toro was unforgettable. The fat melted before I even need to chew.

My wife and I had the most amazing date night at Sushi Bar Dallas. The omakase experience was absolutely perfect. The tastings were truly delightful. The wagyu, the ebi and the sawara blew me away. This was the best sushi I've ever had. Impeccable dining experience this is a must do if you are in Dallas!!

I've experienced several omakase dinners before, and this was easily one of my favorites. The chefs were both entertaining and personable, making the evening even more enjoyable. The food was exceptional, and the entire experience was flawless from start to finish.

WOW! Fantastic experience! Be on the lookout when finding this omakasa sushi speakeasy with a door that simply says SB on the outside. And, be sure to arrive early to take advantage of their specialty pre-dinner cocktail. The welcome area is a small, ominous, yet trendy, entrance that adds to the mystery and adventure you're about to begin. Once you start into your immersive experience, it's simply fabulous. I cannot say that enough. The skill, food quality, attention to detail in every aspect is truly amazing. We enjoyed 17 courses from tartare to scallops and hamachi to waygu, uni and unagi and of course dessert. The ingredients were thoughtful, presentation was beautiful, and every dish was explained. Our chefs and server were also super friendly, knowlegeable, attentive and fun as well. Fantastic... once again. Seriously. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable evening. I also had their signature saki flight and next time will get their champagne 🍾 flight. Oh yes. There will be a next time. Excellent dinner experience and highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing food. If you are thinking of coming here you are probably already aware that it's quite pricey. Let me tell you that the price is justified. By far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Amazing sushi that truly impressed and great atmosphere with the chefs. The chefs walk you through the 17 courses while also conversing and answering questions. They're incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food itself is comparable to Michelin restaurants. The purity of flavor and quality is unmatched. Coming here is a great decision, if you can budget for it you need to give it a try. Best sushi/meal I've ever had.

Absolutely beautiful, upscale, fresh, exquisite experience. I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday there and it was beyond what I expected. The moment you walk in you're greeted by a complimentary bellini and wait for everyone in that reservation to arrive. There are only 12 people allowed per reserve time which creates an intimate dining experience. The meal is pre-coursed and you can add on things like caviar, truffles, and foie gras. You can also pair your sushi with different saki, whiskey or wine flights. The staff and chef are so nice and knowledgeable. Each sushi is crafted in front of us and I can't express how delicious each piece was. They were so soft and each bite melted in your mouth. There's no chopsticks, soy sauce or wasabi as you're supposed to pick each piece up by hand and eat in a single bite. Additionally the chef will add fresh wasabi and soy sauce as needed to every sushi.

Very awesome and curated experience. They take you through 17 courses and do a great job explaining the fish and its background. Sake pairing was really yummy as well. Chris (assistant mgr I believe) was super inviting. Afterwards they take you to the bar next door (which we made the mistake of going to first haha). The bar was also a great vibe and the GOAT CHEESE DRINK was to die for. Parking outside was easy ($10).

Our experience did not start off great, we were asked to arrive 20min early for a pre-dinner cocktail, we arrived early long with many other guests, to find a locked door, about 8 of us waited outside in the cold for 20min until they finally let us in, at our reservation time, not a great way to start the evening. Luckily! The food experience made up for the unfortunate welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, the chefs were warm, welcoming and funny. They made everything in front of you and served the meal family style, they also gave a description of each bite. I enjoyed the small group setting, almost felt like a dinner party with friends. The drink accompaniments were tasty and creative and our server Lav was on point. After dinner, we went next door to Gingers for a cocktail, loved it! I will absolutely be coming back again, and highly recommend you try this place and save time before or after to pop into Gingers! My one point of feedback to the restaurant: if you ask people to come in early for a welcome drink, be open and ready to receive them as instructed.

This was an unbelievable experience. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious. The chefs were so funny and professional, and they were very well versed in every fish they served us. The environment was private uncomfortable, and the second was absolutely perfect for our parents. This experience was worth every penny!

Decided to treat myself for the Lunar New Year - because I’m a Dragon - and I had an amazing experience! There’s parking and valet but I Uber’d to the location. Upon arrival, I was served a cocktail and chose add on for the sushi. The seating is very intimate and you’ll have a close view of the Chefs preparing the sushi. It’s 17-courses and I choose to add caviar with the wagyu. Additionally, I opted for the “Flower” Chardonnay and later the “Snow Shadow” sake. Each piece was made with care and delicious with every bite! The experience ended with a sweet cream desert and I enjoyed the lightness of it. I look forward to returning once they establish their Dallas menu and trying out the delicious flavors the Chef’s come up with!

I absolutely love tasting menus and adventures, and Sushi Bar definitely delivered. The timing of the courses was perfect and I liked that each one was explained. I enjoyed it so much I made another reservation that night to take a friend I knew would love it. It’s more expensive than a typical dinner in Dallas, but you also get to watch the food be prepared and it’s really more of an experience. I saw another reviewer saying they were made to eat with their hands and weren’t even given chopsticks- I wanted to say that we were offered utensils, but told that the best way to eat it would be by hand since the rice could easily fall apart if subjected to chopsticks. We had towels and I thought it actually made the meal seem more homey and intimate.

We recently had an exceptional dining experience at a sushi bar in Dallas. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the omakase menu, featuring 17 meticulously crafted courses. Each course was a single item, but the progression left me completely satisfied. The chefs truly showcased their expertise, with each piece being a work of art in both flavor and presentation. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were evident in every bite. The variety kept things exciting, with a delightful mix of traditional and innovative dishes. If you're looking for a memorable sushi experience in Dallas, this place should be at the top of your list. The combination of skilled chefs, an impressive menu, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit for any sushi enthusiast.

A Culinary Gem in the Heart of the City! My experience at the sushi bar was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by Annie and Giuseppe. Their attentive service set the tone for a memorable evening. The chef's artistry was on full display as he meticulously crafted each sushi piece right before our eyes, pairing them with delectable salads that complemented the flavors perfectly. Watching the sushi being made added an extra layer of excitement and appreciation for the skill involved. Nick, our sake sommelier, was a revelation. His extensive knowledge and passion for sake were evident in the array of tastings he presented. Each one was a journey of its own, enhancing the overall dining experience. This was my first foray into raw sushi, and it surpassed all my expectations. The flavors were incredibly fresh and harmonious, leaving a lasting impression. The cleanliness of the establishment further elevated the experience, making me feel completely at ease and welcomed. The ambiance was perfect, striking the right balance between sophistication and comfort. To top off the evening, a visit to Gingers for a post-dinner drink is a must. It’s the perfect way to unwind and reflect on a truly remarkable culinary adventure. In summary, this sushi bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in top-tier sushi and exceptional service. I can’t wait to return!

If I could give a million stars I would! We have tried (I believe) all omakase experiences in Dallas and Sushi | Bar was BY FAR the winner! We were celebrating my husbands 40th birthday and Every staff member took time to wish him an happy birthday. Each bite hit every single taste note. I swear they counted the grains of fancy salt that went on each nigiri piece. It’s also by far the best bang for your buck. Chefs are personable and knowledgeable. It felt like a family dinner where everyone was having the best time. We always have a few courses that we don’t love but we couldn’t pick a least favorite because they were all perfection! First time I’ve ever liked uni let alone would eat more. After the amazing dinner they offer a cute little speak-easy vibe bar next door for an after dinner drink. LOVE! Parking was super easy and close by. Welcome drink was a nice touch. We booked our next visit with more friends while sitting with our after dinner drink and already have 2 handfuls of other very jealous friends and family who are anxiously awaiting their invite to this amazing experience!

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! Everything—the food, service, hospitality, and sake pairing—came together to create one of the most memorable experiences. Thank you to the Sushi Bar team!

Stop! If you read one thing today, make it this. This was not a dinner. This wasn’t casual drinks. This is an EXPERIENCE! From the moment you walk up you start to feel the mystique and energy of the place. You’re greeted and treated with nothing but class as you walk into the speakeasy-esque building. Your entire time is curated to enhance the ambiance of the event. Once seated, Chris, Nick, and Ben did everything they could to make our time there feel special. The knowledge, the theatrical presentations, the supreme quality…. Practically breathtaking. To be honest, I’m not normally a seafood lover. I was luckily invited for a celebration with friends. I was actually nervous I wasn’t going to enjoy a thing. When I tell you every single bite changed my outlook on food I mean it. I literally woke up hoping to find just one more bite of the sushi from my dreams. In short, Sushi Bar in Dallas is the epitome of quality. If you decide not to go, that just leaves room for me to go back. Don’t be dumb. Go. Thank me later.

Having been to Sushi Bar ATX, this location had the exact same interior setup, except this location was located in a basement. In terms of service and quality of food, both locations are very similar but in the ATX location, I was offered the option of 2 pieces of newly created sushi for more money, and that was a great option. I would recommend skipping the extra toppings on the sushi as I felt that they don't add much to the experience for the price they charged. If you want to experience a predominantly sushi omakase, then this is the best place I've been to so far in DFW. I brought my 2 kids to this place and they really enjoyed it and it was a very memorable experience for them.

This was our first omakase experience and it was so memorable and each nigiri piece was so flavorful. Each chef was interactive and knowledgeable about their craft and so friendly and inclusive with everyone. It was in a private room which made the experience immersive. Would love to come back next time we are in Dallas.

My wife took me to Sushi | Bar Dallas for a birthday surprise, and let me just say, it was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations! Located in a historical building in Dallas' East Quarter, the entrance through a century-old car lift sets the stage for an extraordinary evening. This place is a hidden gem with an intriguing speakeasy vibe that heightens the sense of adventure. The omakase experience itself was a dazzling array of 17 meticulously crafted courses. Highlights included the Aged Bluefin Akami, delicately seasoned and presented with a flourish, and the Hokkaido Scallop that melted in the mouth, complemented by the subtle truffle accents. The Wagyu was another showstopper, its richness perfectly balanced with a touch of brown butter miso. After the exquisite meal, we drifted into Ginger’s, the connected cocktail lounge, where the ambiance is as refined as the drinks. Sean Kenyon’s cocktail menu is a parade of classics done right, from high pour martinis to expertly mixed old fashioneds. The space, with its art deco details and live music, provided a seamless transition from dining to relaxing with a drink in hand. For anyone looking for a culinary adventure that combines exceptional food with a unique atmosphere, Sushi | Bar Dallas is a must-visit. The combination of world-class sushi and a top-notch cocktail experience makes it an ideal spot for celebrating special occasions. I highly recommend it for a night out that promises to be more than just a meal, but a memorable experience.

A great addition to the omakase scene in Dallas. While the flavors are less traditional than say a Tatsu, Sushi Bar puts a unique spin that works in a different way. Glad to have another player in the game here to push and grow the entire scene. Price is pretty reasonable for a 17 course omakase as well. Will definitely come back and recommend to all.

I have had a lot of great sushi dinners, but this one was one of the best meals of my life. From the peach Bellini upon entering to the mysterious walk downstairs to the intimate sushi bar and our names on placards, it was a magical experience. Each course of food was stunning, the fish impeccable and the different flavors that were incorporated for each bite made each course better than the last. Nick & Jose were amazing chefs and hosts and Samantha's wine & sake recommendations were perfect!

Cannot speak highly enough about this spot! It is intimate, informative, and most of all, delicious. I have had the most incredible experience each time I have gone. The chefs are borderline comedians they are so much fun and knowledgeable! Mery, the manager was beyond accommodating and a joy to be around. Overall, the perfect spot for a date night or a special occasion. Highly recommend stopping by Ginger's after for an espresso martini! Will be back!

I've wanted to try Sushi omakase for a while. Especially after hearing of friends experiences. And all I can say without gushing is wow. The attention to detail all the staff is putting forward on the food and atmosphere is just so well done. Every delicious detail masterfully thought through. From how all the dishes flow to the drink pairings to the music, it just creates the entire experience. I can't wait to go back and see what they have evolved and created!

I rarely write reviews but had to share what a phenomenal first omakase experience this was for my spouse and I. We loved the smaller intimate setting and it was extra special to watch the craftsmanship and listen to the knowledge behind the origin of each fish. Each dish was beautifully executed and masterfully inspired with such creativity, delicacy and precision. Shout out to the very talented Chef Rico and Palamino for a very memorable dining experience.

I have been patiently waiting to be able to try this place and last night I was FINALLY able to for my Birthday! All I can say is WOW!!! Absolutely amazing experience. From the staff, to the food, to the atmosphere. This place checks all the boxes. Being someone who has had extremely high elevated dining experiences, this place is in the top 3. The fish was SO fresh, literally melts in your mouth. The flavors are insane. This place beats any other fancy or expensive sushi restaurants in Dallas. I have been thinking about it all day and can't wait for the next time!

O

The chefs were absolutely amazing. We had a great time I gave the atmosphere three stars not for the staff but for the people that were with us in this meal because some of them were just a little bit of a wet blanket or kind of bland. Not everyone but a couple couples. But the sushi oh my gosh it was absolutely amazing

J

This is a culinary experience in a small format setting with 12 seats. The space is dimly lit, creating a romantic atmosphere. The service was impeccable. They catered to our culinary preferences without making a fuss about it. The food was amazing. Each piece was seemingly better than the piece before it. I will definitely return to enjoy this experience.

Dining at sushi | bar Dallas is nothing short of a culinary experience. A standout aspect of the evening was the service, particularly from Omri, the beverage expert. His thoughtful pairings and deep knowledge of sake and wine brought an elevated dimension to the meal. Omri’s passion, approachability, and attention to detail made the entire experience feel even more personalized and memorable. For those seeking an elevated and immersive sushi experience in Dallas, sushi | bar is a must — and be sure to let Omri guide your drink selections; you’ll be in excellent hands.

Great atmosphere with really fun chefs. Probably some of the best sushi you can get in Dallas (only Shoyo may be better). Get the drink tasting, but don’t get the upsells offered at the beginning of the meal (e.g., caviar). Those aren’t worth it. Really good experience that’s priced at a high end. Would recommend doing at least once. Also, the bar in the back is a great way to end a night.

L

Sushi | Bar was a treat...and a bit of a trick. Typically, we like to give a very detailed review - but this one we will keep short. 1. Food - 5 2. Service - 5 3. Price - 2 (over $600 for two people in Dallas is absurd). 4. Location - 2 (parking is difficult, and it's kind of hard to find) 5. Chef Ben - 5 We would recommend only for a one-time event. They are way too expensive, have a limited beverage menu, and make you eat with your hands (no chopsticks). To be honest ... the food is the real reason to go (if you want an omakase-style dinner).

M
Matt Streit

It's a nice, intimate experience, but Sushi by Scratch does a better job with better fish for less money.

R

Fantastic experience. You must dine here. This was more an event than a meal. Everything was well planned from the gin and cucumber welcome cocktail to the menu board and seating. The chef's were efficient and interactive. The somalier was knowledgeable. The fish was exceptional and the combination of flavors were well thought out. I will be back. My only criticism is that the uni was from a box and not live.

A
Anne Batliner

Wonderful experience. The food was incredible, but I was still a little hungry at the end... For the price, I'd expect to be stuffed, but maybe we just have large appetites? It is quite pricey, so would recommend for a special occasion. I appreciated they were able to accommodate my GF DF needs without sacrificing taste- and I didn't get sick afterwards, so they really did remain careful during preparation! The welcome drink was a nice touch and I liked that there were options for just one glass of saki or wine vs. having to buy a bottle or pairings.

Sea WhenAbsent

Sushi | Bar is a polished, high-touch omakase that gets some fundamentals right. Fish quality is excellent, knife work is clean, and the rice hits the sweet spot for temperature, grain, and seasoning. On paper that should add up to a terrific meal. In practice the experience is compromised by a garnish playbook that repeats itself course after course until the signal gets lost. Piece after piece arrived wearing a loud combination of crunch, citrus volatiles, infused oil, and a prickle of heat. The first bite reads as vivid. By the third or fourth, the palate fatigue sets in and the fish becomes a substrate for the topping rather than the point of the bite. Sushi, at its best, is about shari and neta, cut and temperature, with accents that tune the fish without drowning it. Here the accents became the main event. Even when a component was tasty on its own, the stacking of crumble, zest, flavored salt, and chile pushed everything into the same register. Dynamic range flattened, and the meal began to feel like the same idea in slightly different costumes. I enjoy intensity and experimentation, and I am happy to be taken on a strange journey when the menu has contour. The issue is architecture, not ambition. Give me contrast and a few quiet pieces that let the fish come into focus, then let the fireworks return. As it stands, the house leans on a garnish kit rather than a coherent voice, and at this price point that choice makes the meal feel less like omakase and more like a tasting of toppings. Service was friendly and the room is intimate and well run. With some restraint in sequencing and a lighter hand on the finishing elements, this could be a standout. Until then, it is an impressive operation whose brightest flavors too often eclipse the very craft they are meant to showcase.

B
Bree Baker

Fire alarm went off for like 45 minutes making our dinner start late but the staff were nice about it. What wasn’t nice was the sommelier forgetting about us and subsequently giving us three glasses of sake at once. For a $100 pairing each, being forgotten about and then expected to basically chug sake to catch up on the tasting at an elegant dinner is unacceptable. Not much of a pairing. I ended up not even finishing the 3 glasses because we felt pressured to exit at the end, so money was wasted due to poor service. Food was great but the experience for what we paid ($800 total) wasn’t. We won’t be returning.
