3rd and U Cafe Davis Reviews
Great place for sandwiches and beers. Want to watch the game? Come here. (It's pretty loud at such times, but that's to be expected.) Very close to campus so it's a great place to meet with your club members to socialize.
delicious and great for big orders. Lots of quality options my favorite are buffalo chicken sandwich, chicken club and their chicken tenders. The fries could be crispier is my only suggestion. the people there are friendly.
Chill, sports bar feel with great all-around American diner fare, including small bites, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Although on opposite sides of the spectrum, the california burger and teriyaki burger are both big hits for me. Pair that with the fantastic (IPA) tap list and special, this place screams happy hour.
I went here for picnic day and had a blast. I’m loving the open spaces and the friendliness of the staff. Only thing is I wish they had more variety in there beer selection. Still a great spot!
A great place to hang out with a nice selection of food at decent prices. The atmosphere is pretty chill, and I love their breakfast items. Some of the tables are close to outlets for laptops and phones too.
Go here!! Always great for brunch with superb breakfast burritos (ask for the salsa - it's great!) and I love their fries and sandwiches too.
All day beer at $7 for two mix and match, great deal. Burger was great too, and lively at international soccer games on all TV screens
Loved the cheeseburger! Friendly staff, perfect weather so doors were propped open, had a great nba game on. Will definitely go back!
This is a little place on campus, very well known as the "best breakfast burritos in Davis", and at $7 it certainly met my expectations.. I'm going back for more.
Good menu, I can custom order salads and sandwiches. The TV doesn't have to be set for sports events, you can request the TV in the corner to be turned-to news or whatever
Awesome, family run place in the heart of Davis, CA. Great food, newly renovated patio and the best beer deal in town. 3rd is a UC Davis staple.
Two craft beer pints for under 8 bucks. Occasionally has secret taps of select seasonal brews. 6 stars. Food? You must mean beer.
Got one of their burgers and wasn't disappointed. Prices aren't shabby and if I was with a group it looks like a great place to watch a game and have a beer or three.
I like the casual atmosphere of students studying. The food is salad and sandwiches. The television can be set to whichever channel that you want.
Really delicious food. They run out of random veggies though. Prices are pretty much what you'd expect for downtown Davis.
Always gonna come here for their chicken strips and onion rings! They provide a great service. Such a lovely staff!
Friendly staff and great food for decent prices! The Garlic Steak is one of the best Sandwhiches to come to Davis!
One of the best bars on Davis. Great deal on beers and good bar food (also good vegetarian options).
Great food, cheap beer, fast service and a place to watch a game. Also close to campus. What more do you want man?
Food here is good, not great. Prices are good. The location and ambiance make it the perfect place to meet others off campus. I have fond memories here. Many professors and TA's hold office hours here. Service is good.
I will give them 5 stats for their service. The food( sandwiches and salads) is good too. I remember going there on picnic day and ordering a sandwich. I forgot to mention that I wanted it grilled/hot. Received it and asked them could it be grilled now. They did it pronto, even though they were overworked and what with people pouring in every minute.
Best breakfast burritos in the world, just $5.50 for a huge burrito eggs, cheese, French fries, and your choice of meat bacon, ham, sausage, hot links or vegetarian. Served from 10am to 1130am weekdays and till 1230am on weekends. They also give you a bottle of what I believe is great home made salsa! Routine is 1 squirt then bite then squirt then bite, repeat as necessary.
Tasty Guatemalan food
I never have a bad experience when I eat here. The food is good, the service is great and the place is always clean.

Under new management and my Turkey sandwich was delicious along with the side salad! I love the order kiosk and that tips are very optional!
Amazing food and cheap beer. Servers are great and occasional live music
This cute mom & pop restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat in Davis. You can't go wrong with a burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, steak sandwich, salad, chicken tenders, or the hot dogs. Ask if they have potato salad, you wont regret it! They also have 2 for $8 beers every day! Cant beat good food and good beer at a reasonable price. The owners are super nice as well.
Come here all the time. Very convenient, close to campus. Good TVs for watching NBA games. GREAT $7 for 2 beer deal all year round. Good outdoor seating, though they're renovating right now.
Had lunch here today. My patty melt and fries were delicious. Hubby had a French dip and fries that he loved. Sisters-in-law had a huge chicken salad and brother a tuna melt. This was a wonderful cafe, great place to meet and chat and eat. Great service delicious food. We will go back.
Was looking for something different for my Mom's visit. My son suggested 3rd and U. Sure why not? It was excellent! Wasn't feeling a beer so we had ciders! So good! Great burgers! I tried the mushroom swiss and had them add grilled onions. It was so good, burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was soft and did not overwhelm the meat! But strange to say, the chipotle mayo was the star of the show. I got it on a whim and everyone at the table ended up asking for their own. Can't wait to go back, it may be our new go to burger joint.
Wonderful food. French fries are excellently seasoned. One of the top hamburgers in Davis in addition to the roast beef sandwich. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant. The staff are very friendly as well.
They're breakfast burrito is the best (better than Ali baba). The salsa I would put in EVERYTHING. Wonderful, friendly staff. 2 beer special is awesome!
Just enough beers on tap, though they are still very into IPA. The spicy buffalo chicken sandwich here is awesome, and the chili fries rank among the best in Davis. Definitely work checking out in between classes or when your work day goes way too long and you need a place to decompress.

Great place to eat, chat, watch a game, and have a beer. My personal favorite is the chopped salad. Service is great and the woman who owns this tries hard to notice regulars and offer random bonuses as her way of thanking you!
Nice eats. The food is great, the owners and staff are friendly. It can be a little noisy inside, but the patio is nice and has good people watching ops.
Cheap beers, greasy food, reliably crowded. It's a UC Davis staple. Don't go during Warriors games unless you like standing around.
Good food, good deals on beer although the selection tends to run a bit hoppy.
I would describe the atmosphere more as a sports bar than a cafe, but you'll find more than just fried bar food. They have quite decent burgers and panini. The place can get pretty crowded with students, especially if there's a major sporting event on. There's a nice patio, but it can get smoky at times. Overall a decent place to meet with a group for food and drink.
I come here for their happy hour beer prices and sliders!! They're small but so delicious. I could eat like ten of their sliders. Plenty of ample seating inside and out. The place to come for a quick bite or drink with friends.
They have improved after the recent work on 3rd street. Food was very bad in the past but last time I actually liked it. Beer is cheap and they have several tap options which vary from time to time. But what I love the most is the outdoor sitting. A pity they do not closed later than 9 pm. Good place overall

Buffalo chicken salad is too salty and I cannot finish it, sandwiches is good.

The food here is nothing special, but relatively good prices make it a worthy spot. Its busyness varies depending on the time of day, but you usually can get a table. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, when I recently went, the soda machine was broken and they were out of a lot of ingredients which crippled most of the menu. It’s a good place to meet between classes, but I wouldn’t say it’s a necessary place to eat when visiting Davis.

Terrible service. I spent at least 10 minutes wait in line to order while to cashier was no where in site. I finally ordered and had to wait at least 20 more minutes for my sandwich to go. The entire time I was there drunk college students were yelling at each other for no good reason. The food was good, but nothing special. It's not hard to screw up a turkey club... I don't think I'll ever go back.
They have an extensive menu. And they are open long hours. However please be careful. It is a difficult time for everyone. They have been tapping he water from the other building. We have asked them for close to a year to stop tapping into our water. However they continue to do so. And have not paid anything for the water. Times are difficult but the restaurant should never steal or tap into the other person's line.Especially to avoid people getting sick. Worse thing is they continue to do it and have not paid for the water that they used without permission. We have called the restaurant staff.and owner of the restaurant several times a month for the past year. However they have not taken responsibility for their actions or paid anything for the water they tapped into.

I would give this place a zero if I could. The food is rubbish. They get the orders wrong. The cashier is rude. Makes faces just a terrible terrible place. Stay away
The owner, Ted, who works in the kitchen is very unprofessional and unpleasant. He completely lost his temper and started swearing at employees and customers, he is not someone you want making your food. The food is pretty bland and the hours of operation are very weird. Better to just go across the street to Guads for an overall better experience and value.
$2.75 for a can of coca cola is why this place is empty. Outrageous pricing for locals, not just the university kids.
Second time coming here. First time was great! We got our food in a timely manner and everything was delicious. However, today was the worst restaurant service I've ever been treated to. We went for brunch around 10:45am and ordered our food. After about 45 minutes of waiting, I went to the cashier and asked how much longer the wait would be for our food, she was very rude and told me she "just runs the cashier" and I shouldn't bother her with that. I asked one of the runners who told us that it would be about 10 more minutes for our food. We waited another 15 minutes, a total of 1 hour, for our food, still no sign. I went up to the cashier for my money back and they were not ready to give me my full amount. So overall, I waited an hour and fifteen minutes for my food and then was not refunded my full amount. I will not be coming back here again. Although the food is good when you actually get it, it is not worth the awful customer service.
