Temple Coffee Davis Reviews
On the busier side at this location but I gotta say, I love this coffee. Every time I'm in the Sacramento market I try to stop in to 1 of their several locations. The Mexican mocha With their house whip cream is one of my favorite accompanied by 1 of several pastry and sweets that they have to offer.
Nice place in the nice location. Coffee - it is probably to take it black here. They have a variety of sources, roasted here , mostly medium, preserving the flavor - I tried the samples. The milk drinks (our standard breve cap and flat white) were ok, good enough, but short of special or perfect. All the seating is always taken by student girls, most without drinks. So consider “to go” option. The line to the restroom is very very long. But I recommend it if you want a decent coffee in Davis.
The coffee is the best I’ve had so far in Davis. Highly recommended, they know how to do a perfect latte art. Pumpkin muffin needs improvements, I can taste the crunchy sugar in it, needs more fluffyness.
A good place to study and chat with friends socially. Very minimalistic and almost techy kinda vibes from this place and strong coffee which is very important to me. It’s the kind of coffee shop you would go to and see people coding if that makes any sense. The staff is super friendly and I always come out satisfied w my experience :)
The coffee is just so good. The latte was amazing. We got it vanilla and it wasn’t too sweet. Definitely with the stop for a cup of coffee. We also had the seasonal campfire sing along iced latte which tasted incredible but it was a much sweeter option. They had a lot of pastries. We liked the bacon cheddar scone and lavender lemon muffin. There was plenty of seating at stools along the walls and center of the ship and the vibe was bright. They also have their drip coffee as a cool display.
I love Temple. The staff are amazing at this location and I love the drinks (haven't tried the pastries because that is a Pandora's box I do not need to open, but they look great)! I was almost hesitant to post a good review because I don't want them to get too popular and have a hard time finding a spot to do my work, but anything less than 5 stars would be an injustice. The only things that I wish were different are the space to be bigger and more decaf options on the menu (in the summer I would love more iced herbal tea options for the afternoons).
This café is my go-to spot whenever I need a quiet and cozy place to study. The ambiance is perfect, calm, inviting, and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Plus, they have a great selection of coffee and tea, so there's always something new to try.
Tall ceilings, good lighting and open/long bar concept. Great and friendly service. There is also long table seating down the middle and side of the shop, where customers will weave around you to get to the check out when it's busier. If that doesn't bother you if you came here for work/projects you're working on, it's a cool environment for coffee and a pastry. The only reason for 4 stars for atmosphere is the noise/congestion (bring your Loops for work). Fun flavors for fall! Both coffee and pastey are delicious and you can taste the difference from chains. Has indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a bar at the end of ordering where you can add simple syrup, top with cinnamon or other spices before heading out.
Wow. I ordered the matcha and my friend ordered the enlightenment. I liked the matcha, but I loved the enlightenment more and I’m glad it was shareable so she gave me some. I’m more of a coffee person but I was so impressed by the tea. We also tried pastries because a customer gave us them and they were delicious!
Presentation is key!! Temple is an absolutely gorgeous specialty coffee shop in downtown Davis. They had tons of seating. Like moved quickly. My favorite part is how they have a pour over selection available to try. Love when shops do this. Also the pastry options looked INCREDIBLE! Vegan, Gluten Free, all the goods. Local baker as well. Lastly, the barista who rang us up was truly a gem. She genuinely asked us how our day was and what we were doing the the area, etc. Overall phenomenal experience.
I go to Temple quite often, they take the most care in making the perfect coffee. Recently I got the Gibraltar, this was one of the most amazing coffees I have had....and I drink a lot of coffee. The inside is decorated in a simple fashion with seating and a few outlets, the outside has loads of seating! Great place that I highly recommend in Davis!
True coffee lovers experience. Just tried the Cold brew orange cream. This is a nice afternoon beverage. The orange essence is evident with the first sip, but not over powering or artificial. This is a easy to drink experience with a more desert appeal. Great for a refreshing drink on a warm afternoon. Temple offers true to the origin coffees with their direct contact with small coffee growers who care about the Earth and the plants they grow.
Ordered a Flat White, made with the single origin Burundi espresso. It was truly incredible. A real taste of New Zealand here in America. Great coffee with very friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. This place is a true coffee lovers dream, where it's all about coffee and tasteful atmosphere but the coffee is actually good! The atmosphere here is a comfortably modern style with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. There's free Wi-Fi that works both inside and outside as well! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did. I heard about this place from a former employee that started his own successful coffeehouse in Chico. He totally undersold this place. Honestly if i had the gas money I would drive the two hours everyday to get this Burundi Flat White. Absolutely delicious and a truly great overall experience here at Temple
Best Cappuccino Ever? (5/5 green stars also) First off, the seating is all on high stools, so you may not want to bring your granny here. Seating aside (you’ll have to engage your core if you want to sit there for long) I like the clean feel to the place, and the warmth added by the small lamps dotted around. Nice staff – and the barista made one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. They clearly make good coffee and also have a lot of beans for sale, including a limited amount of Panama Geisha. They also stock a lot of vegan pastries. I tried two of them – a morning glory donut and morning glory raspberry muffin. Both were good. I’m also giving Temple Coffee Roasters 5/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • They have a close relationship with coffee farmers and pay above fair trade prices for green coffee. • They provide info on each of their farmer-suppliers. More details on shade cover please! • Their regular milk is Humboldt organic. • Employees get health, vision, dental, and retirement benefits. • They use 100% renewable energy. • They generate zero landfill waste at their cafes (materials are ceramic, compostable or recyclable). • They are involved in local community projects (such as a Sacramento bike park and a Goodwill job placement program). • Supports improvement of conditions for farmers (e.g., donation to International Women’s Coffee Alliance). • They have started a program called Return to Origin (RTO) that looks at the percentage of coffee bean retail prices that reach the farmers and others in the supply chain. The average RTO number in their first report was 32%. Ever written a green star review? Please contact me if you have done so, or if you’d like to know more!
This temple coffee has counter seats only and very busy. I had Thai tea and pastry, they are very fresh and tasty but pricey. (16oz Thai tea is $6.50)
Pretty good coffee if you just want a pour over. Unfortunately the customers kind of ruin the vibe. This place is small and gets packed quickly, so you see a lot of entitled college students come in and try to claim a seat with their bag or jacket. Staff should crack down but I doubt they care. They don't even care about the (hopefully) dog poop all over the sidewalk outside their building. Just walk a little further to pachamama where you get a better latte and no poop on your shoes.
The barista’s regularly have attitude. It must be apart of the brand culture but I’ve talked to multiple customers and heard multiple stories of the barista’s superiority complex. I had a regular drink there for a while just to order it again and be told it never existed… I’m not sure why gaslighting would be helpful in that situation but it must be a need to be superior. Multiple stories have all pointed back to the same theme of barista’s needing to be right .. it’s not that serious but maybe the work conditions are toxic and they need this. Anyways the seating is very cramped and their pastries are usually gross. There’s lots of cohos in Davis this is the least comfy environment.
