Volt Coffee Davis Reviews
Super cute new café and great service
Best latte I’ve ever had!!
Mohammed Abdullah is an idiot!
Amazing
Love this place!
Great service very friendly they have beer too coffee is really good!
My friend and I needed a caffeine hit and noticed this place a block down from our lunch at In-N-Out! It made a perfect fix with crafted and well roasted coffee cherry, yes it's technically a cherry, and smooth flavors for mine did me well for the afternoon. I can see staying around this cool atmosphere and making great conversation with the baristas or making the best of most any day's big blue sky next to the lemon tree on the patio.
We come here all the time for their coffee - Davis has a lot of great coffee options, and I feel like Volt is the best of them! Their lattes have a beautiful strong coffee flavor, the vibes are always immaculate, and service friendly. Love this coffee shop! The food and beer are great too :)
Coffee was amazing
A cozy little coffee/tea/beer place, serving as the anchor for a food cart 'pod'. Selection is mostly IPAs, with some local brews on tap. Volt itself is quite nice, with Chancho's Tacos being an excellent place for nibbles. The flatbread pizza cart is opening "soon", and I look forwards to that.
My boyfriend and I would come sit here a lot. Unbeatable matcha and great memories, although the parking situation is horrendous sometimes.
We met with people to discuss some business. We lucked out and found a table for 4. I don't drink coffee but the others enjoyed.
I come here for the espresso drinks. They staff are all remarkable friendly and make good cappuccinos and cortados. They also have a selections of scones and muffins
Really awesome service and people! I love coming here and the coffee tastes soooo delicious 💜
Brand new to me – this is an awesome place. Just a great atmosphere, great coffee/food and great service. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Great Coffee, quick, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service. Atmosphere is definitely above average. Planning on visiting here again.
Cute place, close and convenient to the freeway. Dogs allowed on very nice patio. Also a small gated dog park kind of area right behind it
Great coffee, pastries, staff, and atmosphere! Love finding a local coffee shop and this one is at the top of my list!
Delicious coffee and they have a good selection of pastries we tried. And they have picnic tables outside and allowed our son to bring his dog
This place is fantastic, a great quick stop off the highway if you’re passing through Davis and need some caffeine a pastry and a quiet respite from the traffic on Highway 80.
The cutest coffee shop with super friendly employees and delicious coffee! It’s quickly become a favorite of mine.
Best coffee I’ve ever had!!! AMAZING scones!!! Amazing service can’t say enough good things about this place! Best thing to happen to Davis in years!!!
Awesome new coffee shop! Pastries and coffee are unreal, staff is wonderful. Will be going back again!
Best coffee in Davis, highly recommended hazelnut latte! Staff are super friendly
Love the coffee and atmosphere. The vibe is unmatched and a great start to my morning. Can’t wait to go back!
Best coffee in town!! Pastries are a 10/10!! Highly Recommend!
They make a really wonderful cortado there
Hip new coffee shop with great vibe! Pastries were outstanding!
Love the vibe of this place, and the coffee is amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
Delicious coffee and friendly service with reasonable prices.
Nice baristas and very high quality coffee
Great vibe, staff is great and love the coffee. Great place
I love your friendly environment and the fresh coffee rocks!!
Excellent! and the food trucks serve tasty Mexican food.
Drink are not too sweet
Excellent coffee and wonderful service
The coffee is excellent. The service is friendly and the staff informed. Medium roast traditional cappuccino great every time. I wish they had either some savoury snack options or some biscotti though.
I’ve been to this coffee shop more than I’ve been to any coffee shops in Davis. I’ve tried 3/4 of their latte flavors and I’ve enjoyed all of them! The service is great and the baristas are super friendly. Such a great atmosphere and local coffee shop. I’d also like to say Jaden is a phenomenal barista. She made me an iced almond latte and it’s by far the best latte I’ve ever had!!
Always a good time at Volt, best affordable coffee in town 👀. Baristas are always nice and just good vibes. Small parking lot and depending on time can get busy so do plan for that! Hungry? They have pastries but the food truck right outside is 👌
Davis’ newest coffee spot! I’m so exited for a new coffee choice!! First time visiting. Volt did not disappoint. Vanilla latte is always my go to when trying out a new place. They had a choice of medium and dark roast. I chose the dark. It was delicious!! A perfect balance of all flavors. Staff is wonderful. Choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The view of the beautiful and humongous cork oaks is superb. Guads food truck is there. We got breakfast burritos. And of course they were delicious. We will definitely be back and I will be recommending this coffee shop to everyone. They also offer a selection of beer if you so desire!
Best prices for coffee in town, also has indoor and outdoor seating. This is a new coffee shop in town, also has teas, beers/cider, pastries, and food trucks available. The store is brightly lit and super clean. The menu is simple, I ordered a 12oz iced lavender latte ($5.25) and a 12oz iced matcha latte ($5.00), great price for everyone. For the espresso shots my latte, you get to choose either dark or medium roast beans. I opted for the dark roast beans in my lavender latte which gave a bold flavor to my coffee. Matcha needs a bit more flavor, but still good. The orders came out quickly and the staff were friendly. Parking is limited onsite, but plenty of street parking available. Weekday happy hour ($5) from 4pm-6pm on taps. With many college students in Davis, there were plenty of chargers making this a great study spot. Definitely looking forward to coming again.
Cool vibe! As this place is just getting started, not everything is up and running yet. Coffee, tea, and beer are all going, along with pastries. Food trucks coming soon! Coffee and tea are served 7 am - 4 pm and beer after 4 pm. Friendly staff! Great location right off freeway, easy access. About 10 parking spots on site. Seating for about 35 indoors and can easily accommodate another 30-50 outside when it's not raining (patio is not covered).
New food from Guad's is awesome. New favorite commute place for food and drinks.
Our favorite coffee in Davis! Tasty coffee, and friendly staff
one of the best matchas i’ve had at a davis cafe, barista was super sweet too!
Busy coffee shop with good matcha lattes and lots of seating

Busy coffee shop with good matcha lattes and lots of seating
wonderful atmosphere and most importantly genuinely friendly staff that put me at ease with their attitude when I was having a stressful day! It is kind of a hidden gem in Davis and I wish more people knew about them. They have indoor and outdoor seatings. Hot cocoa was good :)
The best tasting, least expensive coffee in Davis, hands down. The pastries are delicious, the food trucks are convenient, and overall the entire plaza is set up to be such a lively and bright social circle. It's a great place to work, but it does not have the same feeling of other coffee places where everyone inside is camping out in a booth for hours. It's way more sociable and relaxing. And, everyone who works there is super nice. Volt has been a godsend ever since they moved in. I give them my highest recommendation.
Lattes are top tier, great coffee, and the fact that they have beer available! Perfect while waiting for my car to get work done down the street. Cozy spot, quiet (until the train passes, but its a quick pass). Only complaint is the seats being uncomfortable, maybe get some cushions for people who want to grab and use one.
The staff here was really friendly, and fast service. I got a cold brew, it was very smooth. Would definitely recommend to others.
i was excited to try this place out because it's so close to where I live, and they didn't disappoint! the staff were very kind and helpful, the coffee is wonderful (i got the lavender latte) and I'm excited to try their selection of teas and tea lattes. finally, i got the white chocolate and peach scone. holy smokes, this scone is magical. This place is new but it needs some recognition. Check it out if you can.
Volt is the best coffee shop in Davis, maybe even the Greater Sacramento area. The coffee is so good that it makes me like other coffees less. I never have to hide the coffee flavor with sweetness. I get their iced hazelnut coffee with medium roast.
Great to have a coffee shop on Olive Drive! The cafe is a really convenient place to spend a few hours studying, and the people there are super nice. Their pastries are incredible and my barista Jaden made me an incredible Volt tea latte that I'll probably be ordering again every time I come here.
I love it here! Gave my gf free cold foam for her bday! Juan was really nice. Welcoming and the coffee AND matcha were both so yummy. It’s hard to find a good matcha spot around davis so this was quite the nice surprise.

Great coffee, would be good if you guys start opening the AC as we are approaching summer
Nice little coffee shop on the edge of downtown. Very much catered towards the college students that live in the apartments nearby. Parking lot is quite tight and spaces are limited. No other close parking in the area. I ordered a shot of espresso and the drip coffee. I asked if they could do it as a pour-over and they indeed could. Nice! In general, I would say the espresso and pour-over were well-executed, but it was clear the beans were meant to be used in combination with a larger variety of ingredients, i.e. in one of their many flavored lattes. Very unassuming flavors and not very complex. Some interesting notes of caramel/brown sugar in the espresso, and again the shot was pulled well, but beyond that it didn’t interest me much. The pourover was pleasant but again unassuming and safe. I think this is a great shop for a college student looking to spend an afternoon caffeinated and studying , and the ambiance and reasonable prices reflect that. But for someone looking for a specialty coffee experience, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Service was great and welcoming.
We ordered the volt specialty tea. It was very unique, but would probably try the matcha next time! Staff was also friendly!

Generally great, but sometimes a little packed
Their coffee and matcha is a hit or miss depending on who makes the drink. Selection is limited unless they have a seasonal menu. Adding alternative milk makes your drink over 7 dollars for a 16 oz cup. Service can be pretty good, but today the guy who helped my friends and I didn’t let us put in a number for the rewards, and made us wait to check with someone and didn’t say anything while he did so. Basically - the newer staff they have give pretty bad service, which would be fine if they weren’t literally taking your order. The atmosphere is very lively. Not the best for studying with constant noise and hard uncomfortable seats.

Wifi doesn't work, so not very good place for studying. Limited parking in parking lot with a 1 hour limit. The only menu they have is small and posted on the counter in front of the register, so it's only visible to the person directly at the counter. Which means you aren't able to decide what you want ahead of time (increasing the wait times).
I hate to have to come here and write this because for the last year I have have mostly pleasant experiences here. Not so much this Sunday morning. Let me start by saying that this place has my favorite espresso drinks in Davis. The Mexican Mocha with oat milk is particularly delicious. The person at the counter (wearing a face mask) who took my order was very friendly and even asked me about my morning plans. I happily added a tip as I tapped my payment. But then came the baristas... As i waited counter-side for my drink, they gave me strange side glances while speaking with each other about their own Sunday plans and about school (I'm assuming they are Davis students). Feeling uncomfortable, I backed up a little from the counter and started looking at my phone. After a couple of minutes of them being immersed in conversation while casually making my drink, I could see one them pushing a cup it to the edge of the counter. They didn't call me name, so I walked up to ask it it was the oat milk Mexican mocha. The dark-haired barista scoffed and said "yes it is" as if I had just asked her the dumbest question in the world. She then turned to her barista mate to continue talking about their lab experiences and schoolwork. Trying to take the high ground, I made it a point to say "thank you" again, to which the same dark-haired barista didn't respond and just looked away, seeming indignant that I dared speak to her. I was just going to leave, but felt so crappy about how they treated me that I turned back and told the cashier what I had just experienced. He seemed mortified (but not super surprised, tbh) and offered to refund my drink. I declined, but did express that I hope they don't get a cent from the tip that I left. All to say, Volt, train your staff better. Making one of the best espresso drinks in the area does not give them permission to ruin people's mornings.

Had a rather rude experience by a man with a black mask and glasses who works there. I hope I caught him on a bad day or something. But he came out to inspect the vehicle we were in and berated us because I hadn’t put a placard out in the 2 minutes we were there. But he could have just asked to place it kindly. Instead, he threatened to get us towed. He was also looking INTO our vehicle while I was in there. I don’t know what he was looking for, but not all impairments are visible. They’re overall really good there about service but this tainted it for me. Even if my placard wasn’t with me, parking is limited. I hope he stops policing rudely, advocating is good until it becomes bullying to an extent.
Wish I could try but there’s no parking every time I’ve gone
I went to it and searched for it and found it open, but I did not go and found it closed. I think this is very bad indeed, new cafe
Coffee’s fine but rude service. I was asked to “could you step aside so I could service the customer behind you?” literally 1 second after I tapped my phone for payment. “you are all set” would have been enough. I hope this was not because me and my mother were Asian.
