Burger Time Machine Denton Reviews
We stumbled upon this gem while out and about in Denton. I had searched for something nearby, read good reviews, and so we went! Walking into Burger Time Machine was like walking into an actual time machine — nostalgic decor and vibe, diner-like w/ a pool table, games, and classic red and white checkered tables. I ordered the Country Peanut Butter Burger w/ regular fries and a soft drink. My friend ordered the Sound of Music burger w/ sweet potato fries and a soft drink. We each paid about $16, which is hard to come by these days, since most good meals are at least $20/person. The burgers were incredible. A tasty patty w/ a slightly toasted bun. The regular fries were 10/10. My friend thought the sweet potato fries weren't seasoned super well, but it certainly did not ruin our experience. You order at the counter and it is open seating - both booths and tables available. Clean restrooms. Accessible parking & seating. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
Always drove by but never visited until recently. The place was empty for the time of day I went, but the staff was friendly and the food was great. Best burger and fries I've had for a while. I had the Galaxy and my friend had the Star Wars. Would recommend and would go again.
Oh my, oh my was this place good!!! I haven't had such a delicious homemade burger out of a restaurant, this good in a longggg time!!!! I can even say hubby approved. He got the Cowboy burger and said everything about this burger was yummy yummy in his tummy. I got a create your burger and it was a bacon cheeseburger and I mean, heck to the yeah it was da bomb! I would not mind returning for a taste of some of their other ones. This place is worth the stop for sure!
Phenomenal burger and fries! If you want a real burger that tastes like you remember, this is it
Ya know how they say dives are the best places to eat. This is what people are referring to although I wouldn't call it quit a dive... Just dated. The burgers are great. The fries are crispy. I like how they season the food. The buns are nice and hot w/ the right amount of toast to them. It's all served in individual baskets. Self serve drinks. Staff is friendly and you don't wait long for your order. Go here and you'll like it!
Their food choices are amazing! They even have funnel cakes, I mean, no where has funnel cakes but they do! Yheit French fries ahavr some sort of amazing seasoning. Honestly the best fries I've ever had. I have never had a coke so sweet before, and though I've only had 3 of their burgers so far. Ever single one is amazing that I've tasted.
Hey you looking for the best burger this side of the Mississippi it’s where you gon get it the terminator hit everytime don’t play get you some onion rings some tots too ay they probably make you a bowl of pho some street tacos you just gotta ask
been here several times and everything i get is always hot and fresh my favorite burger is on with a cooked egg on it, have have the perfect fries too. they also have a burger with jam/jelly if that's your thing.
THIS PLACE KNOWS BURGERS. I mean they know a good bun, patty, and the importance of fresh ingredients. Hands down the best burger we have eaten in Denton. Absolutely blows Brisket Burger out of the park in my opinion. Especially that their chili is Texas Chili, no bean, and not sweet. We ordered a chili cheese burger, onion rings, the terminator, and fries. We will be back to try more!
Excellent burgers! Staff was super friendly. Clean bathrooms. Easy to access and decently spaced booths and tables. Would come again!
Got our order to go. Still hot by the time we got home. Food was great. Great service. 👍
The texas grill cheese burger was amazing pretty good place if your craving a homemade style burger ill for sure stop by again!
This place rocks! Burgers and fries are consistently well made. Patty meat is high quality. Toppings are fresh. There’s a wide variety of specialty burgers that are all creative and fun to try out. The decor here is really nice as well. A little throwback to Fabulous 50’s with a twist that the geeks and old school film buffs will appreciate. I’m gonna try coming every week! (This little treat in the picture is the Star Trek burger. It’s got marinara and pepperoni, perfect choices)
The girl that waited on me was very nice. And the food was fantastic.I moved here from Houston, And I would write this the best burger I've ever had. Definitely the best burger in Denton Texas
Sometimes I just need to get out of the house with my son and so we took a trip to Denton. Burger Time Machine has been on the list for a minute and I figured this was as good of a time as any being that it was about an hour of driving by itself. Interesting décor surrounded us as we walked in to see a car in the ceiling, the arcade to the right, Star Wars memorabilia everywhere, and also a billiard table. I ordered the Mac Attack, Onion Rings, and the State Fair Funnel Cake Sticks. The onion rings were fantastic! Hand-battered and crunchy. I didn’t have to fight with them at all and they were delicious. The Funnel Cake Sticks were thebomb.com! I normally can’t eat a lot of funnel cake but, with these, I never wanted to stop. I even took half home to the missus and she agreed, they were awesome (And she LOVES funnel cake). The Mac Attack was a decent sandwich. The patty was the star, flavorful and well-seared. Just juicy enough to tell you what it was. The Mac & Cheese on the burger was a little iffy and made the entire sandwich sweet, alongside the ketchup which was sweeter than normal. The bun kept it real and help everything together for me. Would I recommend driving 30 minutes for Burger Time Machine? The sandwich, yes, but not the Mac Attack, try a different burger that focuses more on the patty. The restaurant is an absolute must-visit if you’re even near Denton! 5/5 If you would like to read more reviews about DFW's amazing local burger shops, look us up on Facebook (@BurgerByteDFW) and Instagram (@BurgerByteDFW) #DFWBurgers #GoodEats #Foodie #DFWFoodie #Burger #Burgers #DallasBurger #DallasBurgers #DallasFoodie #FortWorthBurger #FortWorthBurgers #FortWorthFoodie #DFWBurger #ShopLocal #ShopDFW #SupportLocal
Superior burgers and fries! I had the Terminator, which was a big double burger, cooked to perfection, juicy but not greasy, grilled onions and jalapeños, with a toasted bun. Staff was friendly and when they weren’t serving they were cleaning. I’ll definitely return. On the down side, the place could use a make over and they don’t have malts or milk shakes.
Today I visited my favorite burger location in North Texas. I had the Combo, Time Machine Burger with added Grilled Mushrooms and Onions. The service was excellent where the atmosphere is bright and inviting. The food is by far the best in the region. Bring your family out and get The Burger Time Machine's finest outting. I highly recommend this hidden Jewel!
Favorite burger place 🤩 Always get the cowboy burger; taste and portions never disappoint! Love the retro atmosphere :)
Driven by this place for years but never stopped till this past weekend. Had the Star Wars Burger and fresh cut fries, it was fantastic! Sure wish it hadn't taken me so long to eat there. I will be returning again to try the other named burgers they offer! They claim to serve the best burger in Texas...it's a justified declaration!!
Those are some big, juicy, one pound burgers that come with some natural cut frys seasoned with salt pepper and oregano I think. As for the staff I don't have much to say because they were pretty busy. Over all I really enjoyed the food here. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for a good burger around this area.
I got a star trek burger and my fiancé got the vampire burger, both are great took me a while to eat mine but it tasted just like pizza. While my fiancés tasted spicy. Spent about 30 somethin bucks, we also got mozzarella sticks which are a go to for any retro place we go. Good eats and plenty of decorations to look at definitely a splash from the past.
I stumbled upon Burger Time Machine accidentally and I’m glad I did. This was easily one of the better burgers I have had. It was also one of the more common burgers from the list. I am excited to try some of the more uncommon burgers they offer. I definitely recommend Burger Time Machine.
The burgers in this place are priceless. I haven't ever had any burger more delicious than what I got in this place. So far I tried a few of the options in the menu. The picture shows terminator burger with double patties, mushroom and cheese. Perfect combination. The interior design is funny and nostalgic. It throws you back to 80s. the ketchup and mustard containers resemble the one I remember from my childhood. The best part, there is a tattoo sticker machine by the entrance which is adorable.
Best burger in town. But I am a fan of the chicken Philly add bacon. Oh and the frys you can't stop eating them. Love this place!
I saw the place a few times, and curiosity brought me on in..........and I'd like to say thank you curiosity!!! The burgers had that homemade taste, and the size?!?!? I only ate one 1/2 lb patty so size isn't an issue! The fries was huge and well seasoned with a ranch flavor, and the toppings for your burger is endless, like seriously if you can think it, it can be added!!! I did a regular customized burger filled with items I liked, and was not disappointed!!! I kinda wished I tried or brought home another burger! I'll take pics on my return visit!!! #LoveIt on the M-Dubs Grub scale!!!!!
First time coming to Time Machine burger and I’ll tell you that it’s pretty pretty good. I really enjoyed the B1 burger, and plus it was much bigger than the normal burgers you get at McDonald’s or whataburger. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for something to eat around the Denton area!
Amazing burgers! Wife had the Jurassic, which is the one with bbq smokies on it and it was an absolute delight! I had the Mac and cheese burger and it was top notch! Both burgers were juicy and flavorful! And the fries..omg the fries..as someone who isn't a huge fan of home cut fries (weirdo I know) these are by far the absolute best I've found! I could eat these daily! We will definitely be back!
Absolute BEST burger, fresh perfectly seasoned beef. Fries made in house. Highly recommend the terminator. I usually get 2, when you start eating you wint want to stop.
Service was a little slow, but they were super friendly! I tried the Star Wars burger, which was massive! Everything was made fresh, the burger was juicy, and the tots were perfectly cooked. Really enjoyable little dive! Would 100% go back. Edit; I did return to Burger Time Machine and ordered the same burger. It was definitely not the same as my first visit. The burger didn't come with tomatoes (it's supposed to), and the patty looked to be cut in half. Still, it tasted great, and the service improved, so I don't know that I'd change the overall rating. I am going for the optimistic "everything is made fresh- no prepackaged food here" approach on this. I'll branch out and try something different next time, though, since this was rather disappointing compared to the first experience.
Burgers are always hot and fresh! Love the seasoning on the fries, and the little kids corner w/ play stuff is a welcomed thing for families w/ little ones!
A nostalgic atmosphere with movie posters and signs that take you back in time. They have a wonderful assortment of hamburgers to dine on. Both my boyfriend and I enjoyed the Galaxy Burger, a thick juicy burger with the works. Also dined on crisp, golden onion rings and a spicy order of French fries. There is a kiddie corner with toys for the toys to enjoy and they also have a bulletin board where people post comments of what they would do if they could go back in time. Those were fun to read. Service was very good and the place is tidy. This is the 2nd time I've been here and plan on returning again! Next time I'm bringing my whole family.
It is what the sign says. The Burger Time Machine is a burger or hotdogs like the way I remember in my childhood. The care that is in the burger is the way my mom used to make it. And the fries...out of this world. Sometimes a little salty but I order them with the "salt" on the side.
THIS PLACE ROCKS, the menu is wild and there is for sure something for everyone!!!! The seasoning on the fries is spectacular as well!
I had the #2 - Terminator -- it was a great burger. The grilled onions, mushroom, and jalapenos worked really well together. The bun was toasted nicely, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. I'll go out of my way to go back.
This was my first time in. BTM was recommended to me by my mom who is always on the hunt for the perfect burger. I got the Star Wars with onion rings. SO GOOD! They also have little play area in the back for kids which is phenomenal. We'll be back!
Got recommended to come here with a friend. Super good food, I love the fries and the burger was so good! I ordered the terminator and it was delicious. One of the best burgers. Highly recommend.
The good was awesome. I got just a regular burger and it was better than Whataburger and Burger King. But the funnel cake fries were amazing. I got two orders of them!
If you want a fantastic old school burger this is it. Quality products. Definitely a fan. And the fries didn’t make the trip home. (Wife and I devoured them dry. If you order fries get a bunch, trust me) Outstanding first experience. Will most definitely be back.
The best burgers in Denton! The meat is so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I definitely recommend this place; I'll be back soon. And staff super friendly ✔️✔️✔️
I was introduced to this location a couple of years back. I’ll get to the point. Better than Whataburger, better than that place you swear by. Better Period. Get whatever you decide to get and it’s 10/10. The staff is courteous but not all in your face like some establishments where they consider that “attentive” I want to order my food. Get my food and be left alone to eat my food and this is where you’ll get that. My personal favorite is the hot buffalo burger but you can decide on anything else and it will not disappoint.
This restaurant, WOW 🤩! When you walk in, you see the very unique and nostalgic decor. The employees are very friendly and welcoming. My family and I ordered two Cowboy Burgers and a Jurassic Burger. The Burgers were absolutely scrumptious. The patties were so well done and very juicy. The fries were amazingly salty and crispy. Overall I definitely recommend coming to Burger Time Machine.
Great burger!! I’ve driven past this place over and over. I finally had time to stop by and it was awesome. Very Homey. Definitely recommend 10/10. I will be back for sure!!
Wowza!!!! This place has freaking AMAZING burgers!!! Local place that is a quirky little Denton TX gem. All kinds of burgers with options that will blow your mind. Great flavor for sure. Both the hubs and I LOVE the Country Peanut Butter Burger. Sounds crazy but oh my goodness.....YUMMO!!!! Fries are great and seasoned well, sweet potato fries are great and the tater tots are a definite fave as well!!!!
WOW!!! I love the retro style theme. It's like a you time travel. This burger joint is clean, the service is great and the food is terrific! I tried the Cowboy Burger. It was a perfect blend of flavors that engulfed my taste buds. I can't wait till next time to try something new. I was very impressed.
Went here for the first time the other day and absolutely loved it!! I love burger joints like this. They bring the most excellent vibes! The service was great, everyone was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious. There were soo many burger options and sides to choose from! I definitely recommend the Star Wars and Cowboy burger! Both were great. The atmosphere was also super fun and laid back, loved the old school vibes for sure! Definitely recommend if you’re in the Denton area, stop in for a good burger and play some ms.pacman!! 🍔👾
Hard to believe that I’ve lived in denton for YEARS and I’ve just now started to enjoy these burgers! 😅😤… anyways… my favorite so far is the country peanut butter burger BUT today I tried something different- “the Star Trek” delicious 😋! A combination of meat patty’s with pepperoni, Swiss cheese and marinara sauce 🤤.. SO GOOD! Family loved the interior decor, it’s very unique and the staff is very polite and welcoming! Picture don’t do it Justice ! 5+ stars for us! If your ever in Denton, it’s a MUST visit 🙏🏻 🔥
Absolutely love the food. The service is great, and it's my husband and i's go to burger spot. 11/10 recommended
The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and served quickly! This is a great lunch break spot. I had the Dracula burger and sweet potato fries and they were YUMMY!!

Great food, quick service and reasonable price!!! I ordered the bacon burger and it was excellent, food came much quicker than expected as well!
Great place if you are looking for a burger joint with and old school but funky vibe. Lots of burger options, big portions, and a friendly staff. This one is a favorite for group lunches.
I been going around Texas looking for Philly's and "WahLah" I have found it ..if you haven't tried it you need to get there . A.S.A.P Now as for the price the taste definitely makes up for the price.. but a little more fries would be very appreciated.. it's like you never get tired of eating them ... Shout out to the Cook👨🏾🍳
Good burgers good prices, place is a bit dated and movie themed I guess you would call it
This was a great burger! The onion rings were done to perfection. The stuffed jalapenos left a little to be desired and the fried pickles were a little salty for my taste. We will be back to try some other burgers, but we will skip the jalapenos and the fried pickles next time.
Very fun atmosphere and creative burgers that have a cinema flair that tastes great and very generous portions.
I really love the burgers here. The water tastes a little funny. I like the decor, but overall its not super clean inside
Good hand made burgers! I had the Frito pie burger - 1/2 lb burger with Fritos, chili, and cheese. Yummy!! What a delight that they were open on Christmas day!! And they have a pool table!! Fun burger choices! Burgers are big, home made, and delicious but pretty high in fat. Thick fries with skins, which I usually love, but these were so-so. Jalapeño poppers with cheese inside should have been good but were not hot. I would try again since it was Christmas day. Service was pretty fast and friendly. Great movie posters, signs, and even the front of a car mounted on the walls. Would definitely recommend these burgers!
My brother and I were wanting good fries and Google led us here and Google did not disappoint. We got the fried mushrooms and they were so good!!! I got the hot Buffalo burger seen in picture and my brother got the teriyaki one. You can taste that they're fresh and they were cooked to perfection <3. My 6 year old also ate her whole corndog so this place is definitely a win.
This was my first time here. I ordered the Cowboy Burger—it’s huge! I asked for no pickles, but it came with them anyway. That said, the burger was fresh and tasted really good despite the pickles. I also got the combo with fries, but those were disappointing. You could taste the old frying oil, and the seasoning wasn’t great either. The service was quick, and the ambience had a bit of an old-school vibe. The price was reasonable for the size of the meal.
Our first time here. I got the Teriyaki burger. I expected the beef to be a little more seasoned, and the pineapple and Teriyaki sauce could have been a little more flavorful. Not a bad burger at all. My wife got the basic burger and she said it was good. They have a couple of tvs playing baseball, a pool table and a large kids play area. I love all of the decorations. The next time we are in the area, we'll srop by again.
Juicy!!! Everything just worked well together. The mushrooms brought some earthiness, the grilled onions brought a sweet flavor and the grilled jalapeño brought a little spicy kick. The onion rings were delicious. I like the fact that on the first bite I didn’t pull all of the onion out of the batter. Good experience and would definitely recommend.

Good burger options Above averages fries Burger falls flat when it comes to seasoning. The patty feels more like a third slice of bread.
Well I have to say that the food was great. No problem there. Maybe to much decor and cluttery. And maybe need to dust them. But my main problem is with the bathroom! Wow! !! It is like it hasn’t been cleaned since Back to the Future movie came out! Looked like pee all over the walls…. Man that was gross… I hope the kitchen is not the same way.
As much as I want this family business to succeed, unfortunately. It's very forgettable. Upon entering the business I was slapped in the face with a sour smell that reminded me something dead in the wall. The atmosphere was OK. There is no real identity. Between the large family tables, to the arcade game, to the bar, it's a struggle to a feel for this place. The service was great. The lone cashier had a great smile and bubbly personality. I ordered the Cowboy burger. When it arrived it had an appearance of non-automation. The burger was good, but not attention grabbing. The fries appeard to be hand cut, unconfirmed. They were unappealing and limp. In all it was a good experience for $15, but nothing to go out of my way for.
Went at night (6:40 PM) to this restaurant. The place is dimly lit and questionable characters lurking in the dark out front. Took my wife and two kids. We found the burgers to be pretty good. The fries were above average in flavor. The burger cost was ok but the fries were expensive. The amount of fries you get for the money is very poor too. Kids meal with the burger was good but the chicken fingers meal was poor. We paid $42.49 and left still hungry. If I went back, I'd only order burgers and make the fries at home. Or, order fries from a different restaurant and pickup on the way home.
The food was okay. Nothing spectacular. I wouldn't go back personally. The fried food tasted like fish. The sausage on the Jurassic burger were literally lil smokies that had bbq sauce on them. I was…

Lived in the area as a child and can't remember it, but I stopped through. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from ordering a burger. First of all, the good: the location is cool. Right off a main strip. The atmosphere is welcoming family friendly, and I did enjoy the groovy decs. There's a quaint lil bar for the thirsty who prefers the bar feel. The waitress was friendly, and so were the cooks. You could hear and feel the good vibes of everyone who worked there! The bad: the burger I ordered was HORRIBLE. Meat was dry and had no flavor. For 1/4 burger, it didn't seem like it. The bun was just as dry and small. I do believe it was OLD. Even the toasting and butter could not distract from how nasty and dry that burger was. Received only a tidbit of lettuce, and if there were any onions, I couldn't tell. I asked for mustard and received a bare swipe of it. Almost choked on that burger, no joke. The ugly: Paid 10.65 for one small, flavorless dry burger (gratuity included). ALL their burgers were expensive! Cheapest was 8.99, and all sides SOLD SEPARATELY, and PRICEY. Ain't worth it for the small dry burgers they serve up. 1 star for the atmosphere, 1 for the good vibes, 0 for the food.
When I walked in I saw workers grabbing food from the freezer area including bread with no gloves on. Next my burger was made incorrectly and when I took it back to be fixed they simply scraped the sauces off and sent it back, I know this because there was visible mustard on the burger that I then had to remove with a napkin and try to enjoy it. Pictured below is the burger they sent back which was clearly microwaved and did not have a “pile of Colby jack” like the menu says, it also was not stuffed with cheese as described. Even doing that it took them 12 mins to fix my burger leaving my fries, tator tots and other burgers to get cold. The tator tots were flavorless, the only thing that was somewhat good was the fries. The inside of the restaurant was dirty in general and workers were racing around with no regard for my toddler that they almost knocked over.
Hey, so I come in at 7:45 just wanted to grab some fries to go. Not that I get to mention it because I don’t get up to the counter before I am told,”we are closed” at that time (7:45). Sooo since I can’t grade food to order and I didn’t get experience any favorable atmosphere I’m just going to grade it on the service. Since I can change the times, I’ll go ahead and fix your hours because if I can’t order anything at 7:45 and they say they’re closed, then they’re obviously not open until 8, right? Is there anything I’m missing here? Oh well. I know my high ratings add restaurants to the map (since higher level guides can do that) I don’t know what it will do with this low of a rating but the workers spoke for the establishments ownership.
