Juicy Pig Barbecue Denton Reviews
I stopped here today for lunch and was very impressed the cuisine was outstanding and the folks working here are very friendly and hospitable. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the Denton area.
Oh Man, good food, reasonably priced, great staff and atmosphere. I dig the gumbo with a side of mac n' cheese! Just up the street from Faded Blue record shop. Another great place to hang out!
Outstanding. Ordered $575 of meats and sides for a 25 person family in-home gathering and everyone liked all the food very much. Ribs, brisket & turkey all perfect. Best pork ribs I’ve had. Mac & Cheese, slaw & potato salad all perfect and love the sweet pickles. By far the best in Denton and beats most of the BBQ places we frequent in South Texas. They provided plenty of condiments plates and utensils . Everything was well managed, fresh and on time. Had lots of leftovers that were great for days. I’ll be back when in Denton.
Great food! Got quite a bit for our pastor’s birthday and they tossed in a bunch of extras. The brisket is to die for. Should have got more of the spicy sauce. Everyone wiped that one out quick. Definitely going to be ordering from her again for our church! Lovely place and they had everything ready to go as soon as I got there. Didn’t have to prepay.
This place was awesome. The pork ribs were tender and good. The brisket baked potato was tasty. I highly recommend checking this place out. The only negative was the limited seating. If your looking for take out bbq this is the spot.
Walked up to the front door and could smell the smoke from the pits in the back. As I walked in Patsy Cline was playing in the background and the aroma from the smoked meats hit me. This was a great start! At the counter I ordered a half pig plate. This came with ribs, brisket, Mac&cheese, a deviled egg, and Texas toast. Sat down and noticed the inside dining area was small, rustic decor surrounded by plenty of real wood, and had a relaxing view with windows all around. They also have a bigger outdoor dining patio area. My order was ready in short time and not only looked delicious but tasty even better. This is BBQ done right! The deviled egg was the perfect appetizer. The Mac&cheese was creamy and tasty. I used the Texas toast to make a brisket sandwich with a little bbq sauce and this hit the spot. The ribs were wonderful with the meat just barely holding on to the bone ready to fall off. Everything I tasted was excellent. The service gal and guy were friendly and helpful. This was an easy review with an all around 5 stars and highly recommended! 👍
Today was my first time trying the juicy pig, I had the Smoky mountain sandwich and it was everything I expected in a BBQ sandwich the slaw was on point and the sweet tea reminded me of my grandmother's sweet tea, it was so good I ordered 2 more sandwiches to go. I will definitely be returning. 💯💯💯🤙🤙🤙
Small restaurant with small dining area and small outdoor eating area. Otherwise the food is fantastic. Every item is delicious. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken, and the Dino ribs they make on the weekend. My favorite side is the smoker Mac and cheese and the BBQ sauce selections are great too. If you have a large group or its busy youre going to have to take it to-go.
Happened upon this place on a motorcycle ride from Motto Latte 😉. This is the place for beef ribs! fall of the bone tender but still firm as you’d expect with properly crafted BBQ, and jampacked full of flavor with every bite…amazing!! The side were also phenomenal, beans were on point, and Mac and cheese legit! Also had an Arnold Palmer limeade which was very good. Will definitely be back!!
This place is about the MEAT for sure. I had the Baked Potato stuffed with brisket. My husband had the Jalapeño Cheddar sausage and Sliced Brisket. This is a great place to stop for a quick item, pick upa.d take home OR eat outside. There are a few tables inside bit it isnt the place for large groups at all.
My husband and I were craving some bbq yesterday and wow! We found our new go to bbq spot! The ribs were fall off the bone tender and tasty. The sausage was great. The brisket was so delicious. The dipping sauces are really good. I had the regular coleslaw and I enjoyed it very much while my husband had the ranch beans he said were okay. We loved the music choice playing while we were there - classic C&W! If you haven't tried this place and you like bbq, do yourself a favor and go!
Definitely some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. I don’t recall eating brisket from any BBQ restaurant where I didn’t need a knife. So tender and juicy. My husband had the ribs and same, fall off the bone!
This is definitely the best barbecue. I’ve had for a bit being from Texas, but New to the Denton area. Plus they sell beer! Perfect! For an after a hard day delicious barbecue 💜 The staff were kind and gave the right choice for my first time. The ribs are perfectly done with light smoke flavor. Green beans…. Amazing! 🤩 My new pit for sure 👍
Read this to the end, where the best part is 😋 Had the Whole Pig Plate with sliced brisket, pork ribs, and habanero sausage with the beans and potato salad as my sides… this is very good Texas style barbecue. They pay close attention to the seasoning and smoking their meats the right amount of time to achieve maximum flavor, and not too much smoke that it is overwhelming. The brisket was tender and had a nice salty and peppery bark. The pork ribs had that competition bite and seasoned perfectly. The sausage, although served sliced, had that snap to the link that you look for from a professional pitmaster. The beans had the right amount of seasoning and they did not throw everything and the kitchen sink in them like some people do. The potato salad reminded me of my grandmothers, mustard-based and a nice texture from the finally minced red onion. Now, let me tell you about this incredible beef rib that I took home. This thing is next level Texas barbecue. It was just a huge beef rib that was perfectly seasoned and smoked. You could have pulled it right off of the bone. The perfect blend of salt and pepper, Smoked to perfection and just melts in your mouth. A great man once said “this will change your life“ and he was not wrong! look, there are two kinds of people in this world, those who have had this beef rib, and those who have unfortunately missed out!
Stopped in after reading the reviews. You have to get the limeade. It is amazing. The pork spare ribs are really good, juicy and tender good smoke flavor. I ordered a beef rib. It had a nice bark but wasn’t trimmed well and had alot of fat that had not rendered. You can’t tell from the picture but the other side of the rib was fat. The bites I did have were good. Next time I’ll just get middle rib like I started to. The burnt ends were good. I’m definitely going back for the pork ribs and limeade.
BOTTOM LINE: Edible but Not Great! Low Effort BBQ Joint We got Family Plate $150 (with drinks) Pros - Lots of Food! Portion size was excellent! Service was also excellent, super friendly nice guys. Cons - Kinda everything else Brisket - kinda dry, over peppered Ribs - Over cooked and way to peppered (just FYI I like pepper) Potatoe Salad - Good flavor, kinda runny, might be made with canned diced potatoes. Tiny chunks of potatoes. Beans - Not cooked, no flavor. Beans weren't boiled properly so they were hard in the middle. Lots of stuff but no flavor! Recommend Add salt, rinse better, fully cook. Mac & Cheese - Looked excellent tasted terrible. Rubbery noodles, sticky cheese without any real flavor. Kinda like cafeteria or golden corral Mac and cheese. Just my take! Not trying to be mean. I think these guys just a bit complacent. Kinda lost the effort. Maybe that's ok. IMO They need to stop and evaluate their dishes and tweak their methods a bit to make food tastier! Disclaimer: We did show up in Saturday at 7pm ish and it was kind late.
Heard this was a great place to eat. Got the brisket sandwich but it was a little too dry for my liking. Didn't leave me with much interest in going back. But my brother did say it's been better on his previous visits, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.
Visited this location based on previous reviews while in Denton. I don't travel to this city often so we were looking for a unique place for Barbq. The food was good and tastefully crafted. I had some tacos and my friend had the chicken. The place is very small so it does have the ambience of an old country place in the middle of Denton. Hardly any sitting inside and it was just as hot as outside. The severs were attentive enough but did not seem overly welcoming or appreciate our having visited. Did not really engage, I was expecting more.
It's unfortunate! Food is great! Been here 2 times previously. 1st visit, (during mid-day)made me want to come back with my family. So i brought my family for a 2nd visit; and was met with a different experience. Customer service was outrageously horrible! Employees act annoyed that you want to order. Finally decided to see if service had changed. NOPE! It is sad, the same rude employee was still working behind the counter. I guess service isn't too high on the list. Lost another customer!
