El Pollo Loco Denton Reviews
Omar was fantastic. We live in Aubrey and travel here because of the food is always excellent and the customer service is top tier. I’m not sure if Omar is the manager but he’s for sure leading by example. Love this location and will continue to drive here with my family. Worth the 20min drive
Just like homemade food to us. The beans and mashed potatoes seem home made like I had a big pot in the back I made. The chicken I'm not sure if smoked or rotisserie but earlier in the day mmm got to try it we ate so fast the family feast we forgot our picture
I've been a loyal customer of El Pollo Loco for over 35 years, and I can honestly say there's no other chicken quite like it—it's truly delicious! Every time I order from this location, the service and food are consistently outstanding. I have a few favorites I can recommend: their chicken meals are perfect for feeding the whole family with sides, salsa, and tortillas. The burritos and desserts are delish! I also loved trying their chicken salad with cilantro dressing—absolutely amazing! The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the tortilla soup, as it was a bit too spicy for me.
Took my niece and nephew to Pollo Loco and the experience we had was incredible. The staff (especially the cook) were super friendly and continuously asked us how we were doing throughout our visit. The cook himself even came out not even 5 minutes after we sat down to explain a possible wait time for our food which we appreciated SO much. Will be coming back and recommending this location to friends and family :)
UPDATE: 9.3.21 I returned to the store drive thru and explained my order. The on duty manager, immediately recognized the error and corrected it on the spot. She explained to me how the error was made, which I understood- we all make mistakes and sometimes the hardest part is admitting it. She was super kind and made me a fresh bowl and chips. I’m super happy that my first Denton fast food meal was made right. I chose el Pollo Loco because they are all over Cali and always serve great food, and of course the service. To management below, thank you for responding and willing to rectify the matter, but the on-site store manager took care of it. ***disclaimer - I didn’t have time to post an after pic, bc I had to eat the meal in the car, but it was made right 🤤 I just left the el pollo loco store on University in Denton and my order is wrong. Kenya was the employee who took my order and payment. When I pulled to the window, she asked me if I wanted the puck sauce and I said no, I’m allergic to tomatoes and it sauces. I heard her tell the person making the bowl he had to make it over because I was allergic. I drive back to the office to enjoy a sit down lunch and couldn’t. I immediately called the store and got an automated voice, pressed option 4 to speak with the store and it goes to a busy sound and then hangs up. I called six times- same out come. Now I have to go back to this location to get the meal done right. I’m really upset because it’s a hassle to not only deal with campus parking, university traffic, but now I will not get my last break because of this mistake. 3 stars because Kenya was nice and she did tell him/her to make the bowl without pico, and the sweet rasberry tea was really good 😊 Be prepared for traffic in all directions; it’s hard to get in and out during lunch hours — 11am-2pm
What a delightful place. El Pollo Loco is one of the few places I have been that is nearly spotless. The entire place was clean as can be. The employees very nice. Special shout out to Neim. She took my order with a smile and I asked her for a suggestion and she responded with confidence and it was an excellent suggestion. To top that, the food was delicious. How often do you get the trifecta of clean, nice employees and good food? Not too often. I will visit El Pollo Loco again because of this experience and there were plenty of other items I must try. Also if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan, their is an employee name Keith that you will believe is Drew Pearson. I'm still not sure its not him. He could be the owner and was there working with his talented employees. He could be doing his own Undercover Boss episode. Go check him out see how much he looks like the original 88 Mr Pearson. I also told the manager Regina, who was also quite nice, how wonderful this place was.
My wife ordered the chicken and it was amazing. I ordered a Queso Guacamole burrito and something about it was too spicy for me to finish. I like a little bit of heat, but that was too much.
Upon entering we were greeted first thing.. 🥇.but it seemed like it actually took some time for the lady to actually make us feel welcomed.. since we'd never been here it took us some ⏰ we ordered a kids chicken 🍗🍗 meal with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. Kaylyn and I ordered Tostada, which now I know, it's a "taco salad" & Stella ordered tacos. 🌮 🌮. Stella gave her tacos 6/10 Blaze gave his chicken 10/10 our tostada bowls Kaylyn 9/10 and mine 6/10.
I have not been to an El Pollo Loco since I lived in Los Angeles in the 1980s. I recommended this restaurant to a group I was traveling with, and we all agreed this a better option than where the teenagers chose! But, we each agreed the chicken was a bit overdone and dry. Maybe we just got the last of the batch? Either way, everything else we ate was perfect and reasonably priced.
Went through the drive through for the first time, and the wait was not too long for the lunch rush. The food came out very fast and was very fresh. The chicken was hot, flavorful, and the rice was not mushy. The only complaint I had was that when they added the beans to my nachos, they did not drain the juice so it made my nachos super soggy. Other then that, the meal was enjoyable!
Great food but slow service. I've had the Avocado Burrito and the Stuffed Quesadilla (which was more like a Crunchwrap Supreme with cabbage and no tostata) and they were both really good. The chicken is amazing and it just has a really good quality to it. The Avocado Salsa is really good as well as the Salsa Roja. The employees are usually very pleasant and cordial, nothing out of the ordinary though. My main complaint is the service, which usually takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on how busy they are. That doesn't seem like a long time, but for fast food, it should be under 5 minutes every time. Overall I really enjoyed El Pollo Loco and will come back; they offer a different type of Mexican that you don't see anywhere else (it reminds me of Baja-style entrees or California burritos).
We are very frequent customers of this establishment, we love the food and typically had good service, this time though there was a young girl who helped us and we already knew what we wanted, she made a face every time we asked for any modifications such as salsa with our combo or to remove the salsa Fresca off a plate that came with before we finished putting in the order. While we were sat she kept looking over, making faces and whispering to her coworkers, honestly food is great but if you want good customer service I’d go elsewhere. We get people have bad days but thats no reason to be rude or to be acting like that.
Don't believe 5 star reviews. Food is not fresh; taste terrible. Polite only to males. Place is dirty. Prejudice if your not hispanic. Never again.
I ordered a 3 piece leg and thigh with Mac and cheese and corn and got terrible food poisoning from this location. It was so bad I had to be taken to the emergency room. Be extremely cautious if you eat here.
Don’t go to this place at night expecting fresh cooked chicken. You are going to get the leftovers from the day. I stopped there last night after a long drive from New Mexico. I ordered drive through and drove home whith it. When I got home to my surprised I got just that an over cooked dry chicken more like chicken jerky, that was probably sitting there for quite awhile but I was so hungry that I ate it anyways. Then I decided to call the store and speak to the manager to complain. The idiot wanted me to take pictures of the chicken and come back the next day with tge receipt for a refund. I told him that I did not care about the refund just wanted to let him know the kind of product they are selling. I am never buying Pollo Loco at this location!!
I came an hour before closing time and they told me there was no more chicken, wasn't the place supposed to be called pollo loco? They didn't want to work twice as they had everything clean and ready to go home. Don't come to this location if it's late, they won't serve you.
I don’t think they speak English or just prejudice. Don’t worry about other peoples religion or anointing that does not concern you. I’m not worried about anyone’s homosexual lifestyle. Inwood there 15 minutes while all the Hispanics in the store went before me including new customers entering the store as well as a Hispanic dasher who entered long after me. That’s discrimination and it’s all over Texas. My faith /religion is none of your business. The Hispanic dasher gave this pitiful look because she knew in the spirt what they were doing.
Let me start by saying El Pollo Loco is one of my favorite restaurants. We walked into their personal speaker blasting that I couldn’t even hear what my son was saying. We waited about 4 very awkward moments before we say anyone. Our order was wrong and had to be fixed multiple times. My husbands chicken looked dried out and old with no meat on the bones at all and my chicken tostada had bones in it. The rice was completely inedible. Over $100 for our order- we could have skipped the gross food and gone to a sit down restaurant. Maybe the service would have been better. I will not be craving anything this place is serving anytime in the future. Skip this location it’s not to the chain standards at all.
