Fado Pub & Kitchen Dublin Reviews
This is the first review I’ve done where I’ve been conflicted on a rating. Our overall dining experience was very good, so I’m giving it a five on that count. The Old Fashions were perfectly prepared and the service was excellent. The food was just ok. I ordered chicken Marsala and it came in an odd white sauce. The chicken itself was a bit dry and not trimmed the best, although the asparagus was very good. We’ll probably give Fado a try on another occasion to see how it compares.
My husband and I stopped in after playing VR at Sandbox down the street. We sat close to the big windows by the outdoor patio. It was a fantastic view and you could see the needle point bridge. We had the salmon bites as our appetizer and did half cucumber half potato. They were delicious! We also got cocktails and a beer, all were half off since we dined at lunch time. For our main dishes we got half an order of fish and chips and the fish sandwich. Our server (Lauren) was great and made some fantastic recommendations. Everything was delicious and we want to go back to try the dinner menu.
Love this place!’ We’ve been several times and always ask for Sully as our server. He always gives excellent service and take time to make sure the experience here is personalized. The food and drinks are always amazing as well
Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing service! Christina was super attentive and our brunch was incredible! The breakfast potatoes were absolutely amazing. Everything was on point. Do yourself a favor and get the lemon strawberry donuts 😉❤️ 1000% will be back!
I traveled here during the 2024 Solar Eclipse Totality. I went in to have a late lunch and watch the eclipse from the outside patio. I had the perfect spot. I had the Solar Eclipse drink special with a side salad with Naan and hummus. The food was great. I had a great experience and would definitely try this place again!
Spent an afternoon with friends here catching up. Great service and everyone was happy with their food and beverages.
Amazing food! The chicken lollipops were so delicious, crispy, and tender. The fried goat cheese was so good. And the steak, although looked cooked more than medium rare, it was so juicy and tender and full of flavor, so no complaints at all. Great mixed drinks too. Highly recommended!
We had their fish and chips for lunch. It was piping hot and delicious! Quick service and attentive to needs we might have. I took pictures of the decor. I thought the bathroom sign was funny.
Located in the new, hip Bridge Park area, this is a great place to stop for a bite and maybe a drink or few, then go play games a few doors down, or take a short walk across the river to historic Dublin. The food menu is simple, so you don't have to become overwhelmed with choices when deciding what to eat, and it allows them to perfect the recipes of what they do offer. The drink menu on the other hand is 5x larger, so there is something for everyone! Food and service were great, although it isn't quick, so be sure to go when you can stay and enjoy the atmosphere a bit! They use a local coffee roaster, Jennings Java, which is delicious and supporting a local start up! They supported Dublin Family Night with a generous discount, which allowed families to spend more time quality time together at the table rather than cooking and cleaning - that in itself is a win in my book!
We came in for a quick bite and drink, but both were fantastic; we started with an Irish coffee and grapefruit mimosa and finished with a Guinness and the soup of the day, which was tasty. Relaxed feel: Steven was excellent and attentive, which we always appreciate and love the downtown Dublin feel.
Cute little place!! Our server was amazingly kind (wish I could have gotten his name) and I loved their decoration on my Guinness beer😘🍺 I ordered Carbonara (plus shrimp), fried goat cheese, and lamb burger
I got the carb Benedict. Calling it crab Benedict is a little far stretched considering it was only sprinkled with very little crab on top. My eggs were almost hard boiled and when I asked she said that’s how poached eggs should be. I begged to differ but was given an over easy egg. The home fries were caked and coated with some Cajun spices but not too bad. Service was a little slow but waiter was very sweet. Not too busy for a Saturday brunch option.
Always a pleasure being able to make it to Dublin and enjoy some really good food and great entertainment on Thursdays. Not so much as pub food like the one in Easton, a little more refined. Ellis always gives great service, I am lucky his has been my server so many times just by luck and request. If you enjoy live music, this is a great place to go on Thursday
This place was absolutely excellent!! The establishment is very clean. And the staff were very accommodating. My Wife had the Half Chicken and I had the 16 oz Rib Eye. Both were prepared perfectly. Took the dessert home, Bread Pudding with Vanilla ice cream and Chocolate Guinness brownie with Guinness ice cream. Icecream packed separately for the trip home. Chelsea, our server, gave us Excellent advice on what to order and took very good care of us. Even introduced me to a new drink, A half and half Guinness with Hard Cider. I wouldn't have thought that would work but it was really, really good. Definitely will be back!! Much Thanks!
Went to Fado on a Friday night after walking around the new Bridge Park area in Dublin. Place was busy but staffed appropriately. We did not have to wait and sat down immediately. The place was much larger on the inside. Well lit and a pleasant atmosphere. Our server was wonderful, checking up on us just enough to never leave us wanting to look for her. We ordered Guinness and Goat cheese to start. Guinness was perfect. Cold, creamy, and delicious. Goat cheese were amazing. We then ordered dinner, fish and chips and the lamb burger. I was apprehensive about the lamb burger with the rosemary and thyme, they can easily be overwhelming. My first bite was unbelievable. It was balanced to taste the rosemary, thyme, blur cheese, and the lamb. The arugula gave a hint of peppery flavor to enhance the lambs flavor. It was one bite after another that made me question if I was tasting this correctly, I could not believe how wonderful the flavors were. If you've ever seen the movie Ratatouille when Remy mixes cheese and fruit bites together and he gets lost into realm of dancing flavors of light and colors around him, that's the how amazing this lamb burger was. The fish and chips were very good. The fries with both dishes were on another level, similar to potato wedges but so much better. My biggest problem was going to another restaurant before hand and utilizing precious stomach space before heading to Fado. We are looking forward to coming back as soon as possible!
The food was delicious and atmosphere was peaceful. Loved the relaxed environment and servers were very friendly. The lamb burger was delicious and one of the best, I have ever had in Columbus, OH.
Really cool upscale Irish pub. We stopped in for drinks and couple appetizers. Definitely recommend the smoked salmon bites. Everything as great and our waitress was awesome.
Fado is a pretty cool Irish themed pub. I’ve seen some really good live music at Fado. Good food. Great Draft Beer selection. Pretty good food too.
Great ambience. We tried fish and chips but exchanged the chips with truffle fries and the pasta. It was so good. Also, we tried the Maryland crab dip as well. Also, the booze was so good.
The servers, bar tenders, food, atmosphere are all amazing. I needed a place to grab a quick bite and do some work on my laptop. Go in, go up to the bar, got my laptop out, and started working, the bartender was prompt and helpful, I asked for their suggestion, they suggested the soup and sandwich, it was delicious.
Came here with a large group and they were super accommodating. The food was great and everyone in our party was happy. Thanks for a great experience.
Our waitress took very good care of us and acknowledged how we were there to celebrate an anniversary. A nice variety of meals and it was quick to come out as well. Definitely recommend giving Fado Pub & Kitchen a go the next time you are in Dublin.
We had a large group of 18 people in last night and our server Rich was awesome! He was on top of everything, and was so nice - everyone was impressed by him. All of the staff was great, and they were very accommodating when I called in looking for a large party reservation. From the drinks, to the apps, to the entrees, to the desserts - everything was SO delicious. All 18 of us loved our food. I can't wait to go back for the fried goat cheese and the beet salad with grilled chicken. Yummy! Thanks for a great night.
Had a great experience! Friendly staff, great food and drinks. Would definitely recommend to family and friends who want a nice night out. Prices for food were good and we had a very nice waiter. Made reservations and our table was ready for us when we arrived. I called letting them know we’d be about 15 minutes late and they were super nice about everything. 10/10 overall experience!
A group of us went out to dinner, and this restaurant was recommended by our hotel. The service was great as the waitress gave us recommendations on the food items. She frequently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was average but still tasted okay. Atmosphere of restaurant inside, a bit overly done, decor wise but still kept clean. Outdoor seating looks nice but when we went, it was too cold. Great Mall to visit when you have the time.
The place is nice and modern, with great decor, perfect for hang out with friends. The food is good! No my favorite, but have good flavor. The cocktails are great! I loved the seasonal sangría. The service is kind.
Food was honestly super wonderful!! Service on the other hand was pretty slim. I’m not sure if they were short staffed but the whole time our waiter saw us 3 times and we were there for about an hour and half. My fiance wanted to order a drink but was no where to be found when he wanted to order. I’d definitely come here again even if the service is a little lackluster next time!
Service with a smile! I enjoyed this pub&kitchen, my blueberry drink, the fried goat cheese, steak and truffle potatoes were amazing. Wish I had tried their salad. Thank you!
Very enjoyable dinner, excellent service and on St. Paddy's Day, the atmosphere was excellent and fun. Great music. We shared the beet salad and the fish and chips (substituted the normal chips with parmesan truffel fries) everything was very good. The great part of the fish and chips, thin, crispy batter and very tasty fish!
I’ll be honest, I came for the Fried Goat Cheese and it didn’t disappoint. The infused honey was an excellent pairing. The Gnocchi was a bit disappointing, not bad but not cooked well and the sauce needed a little more balance in flavor. Good beer selection. I’d try it again and it’s worth the stop for the Fried Goat Cheese.
Fadó was a lot of fun. I got the black bean burger which was a little dry but the fries were incredible. The beet salad was good (half portion photographed), and overall a lively atmosphere with a lot happening and a great pub to grab drinks and pub food.
Had got some fish and chips and bread pudding. Solid 6 out of 10.
I've been here a couple times for happy hour and small bites, and ordered takeout once. They have a solid beer menu and perfect/spacious patio for a nice day. There's a relatively small, but good-looking food menu. The wings were pretty decent, as was the salmon/salad, but nothing had a wow factor. I'd definitely recommend Fado more so for the happy hour vibe than for the sit-down dinner vibe. I'm still willing to explore more of the food menu, though, as the dishes look very tasty visually.
Menu is limited but the food was good, expected a little better. Would consider going outside of restaurant week to see if that made a difference. The smoked salmon was the best part. I wish more came in the appetizer.
Good service and atmosphere. A good place to have a happy hour after work. The menu is limited and a little bit overpriced. I order a Bacon Cheeseburger which can be found easily by half of their price in other restaurants. The fries and beat salad were really good. I will go again there to have a drink but not for dinner.
The food is really the only thing lacking here. It’s not bad, just very plain and the protein (ie chicken, steak) tends be really small portioned. The service itself is great and the atmosphere is amazing for watching a game and just hanging out.
We had a couple of four with starter goat cheese balls, drinks spicy mule for me. Enjoyed our dinner a baked ziti and my wife had the chicken marsala. The baked ziti was excellent chicken marsala was pretty good. I wish I had his name but the server was excellent and enjoyed his tips and conversation. We will visit again. Thank you
The service and atmosphere was very nice. I got the fish and chips and was not satisfied with them. I would like to go back and try other items.
We went to Fado's during the St. Patrick's Day event with my wife and we were told at the door that there was a $20 cover charge. We were planning on leaving and going somewhere else, when the entry person pointed at a large sign behind them that said "$20 gift card" and he said that every entry got a $20 gift card so we were basically just getting our money back. We asked him a few more questions and it sounded good, so we went in and paid. It wasn't until after we paid that we were handed a couple of $20 off $40 coupon (expiration date, has to be dine in, no alcohol, etc...). It was too late to do anything and we didn't want to make a fuss about it so we went inside and had a great time, although we felt we had been tricked and would have left if we had known the truth. I called a couple days later on 3/18 and talked to the manager, Christian, and told him I felt like I wasn't told the truth and asked if I could get an actual gift card. He was very nice and helpful and said he could look into it for me but that not to worry, they just wanted us to come back and that we could use this as a gift card and wouldn't have to worry about any particular amount, we could use two together, there was no expiration date, and it could be take-out. I thanked him and told him not to worry about swapping them out for gift cards. We had planned to come back this weekend (we have 3 kids and can't get out often) and I called a manager again to clarify before going and this time talked to Kason, the assistant general manager who was very direct and rude and told me that I was bothering him because he was in the brunch rush and that I could not use these as gift cards and that they were just $20 off $40 cards. He told me Christian still works there but was wrong and he was not going to honor what I was told. He also interrupted me multiple times and when I asked him to let me explain the situation, he pointedly told me he was going to interrupt me. I very much enjoy Fado's and have been a frequent customer over the years and was very disappointed in the interaction and the customer service. *Update* The owner, Ian, reached out to me and apologized for what happened and was very sincere and apologetic for the situation and said they would fully honor the cards as gift cards and that he wanted to make it right. I am amending the stars because of his customer service.
Open restaurant and bar with a good variety of offerings in both food and drink. It is less "pub" than the Easton location and does offer different selections. Seated immediately as a walkin and service was decently attentive. Got the beet hummus and salmon, fellow diner got lemon pasta. Hummus was great and I love that it comes with turnip. All vegetables tasted fresh and had a great cronch. My entree, not so much. I could smell my plate before I could see it - very fishtankey. I was surprised because normally salmon is not that odorous. I thought maybe my sniffer is off. The succotash was fantastic - great texture with a zing, but something was wrong with my salmon. My fellow diner got salmon on their dish and it was fine - a thicker filet that was pink, while mine was white and smelt of fishtank, thin, tough, and tasted off. The lemon pasta is pretty much just an alfredo. Fellow diner really enjoyed it and said they could taste lemon, but I couldn't. Portion is very large so definitely great value. All in, alright for the price. I personally enjoy the other Fado location more, but I could also see wgy someone would prefer a more large open-air, light-filled spaced as opposed to a small, cozy pub atmosphere.
some hit and misses. the good. the fried goat cheese with honey , the chili flake shrimp with toast ....both pretty good. Dave the bartender is awesome. the wings? buffalo ? dry and not very flavorful maybe i’ll come back.
I would give this a 3.5 the fried goat cheese was really good, I got the lamb burger and I asked for it to be medium and I would say it was done-well done. The flavor was just not there. Services was great and so was the atmosphere though.
The service was friendly but the food was bland. The potato fries/wedges were under cooked and under seasoned. The upgrade to the truffle fries were a disappointment as the regular fries were better. The dishes were ok but small for the prices.
Crab dip : 4/5 , a little bit salty. You should ask them lemon slide and squeeze into the crab. It will make flavor way better. Seafood risotto: 3.5/5 . The flavor is fine, scallops should have more grill taste. Half chicken: 2/5. It super dry. In general, it doesn't make me "wow " .
Service was great. I wanted to give this place far more stars, but the food was just strange. We had appetizers on this occasion. The chicken lollipops were the best, but I wouldn’t get them again. The pretzel was large, but it didn’t taste like a pretzel! It tasted like straight cumin! How do you do that?? The cheese sauce was an odd texture and had an interesting taste. Not bad, but not yummy, melty goodness. The cheese sauce was no match for the cumin pretzel, and that’s all that remained on my palette. The fried goat cheese was decent, but there was too much cheese to breading and it was off putting. The honey sauce was good, but I didn’t detect any jalapeños as described. Overall, it was a no for us, but maybe appetizers just aren’t their forte?
Ambience and the decor of this eatery is impressive. But it failed to impress me in food. I had ordered buffalo chicken wings which tasted a little stale so i had to switch it with fish tacos. Cocktails ordered here were okayish as well. Just to add a reference point of Fado pub in Easton mall, this place did not even match the legendary status the former has. I feel more than the interiors and location, the food should be consistent across all locations. I know it could be hard, but to deserve the same rating it needs to be there. My ratings are such below Fish Tacos 3/5 Hummus 3/5 Cocktails 3/5 I may never go here, because i have just loved original spot in easton and won't waste my money here and i would recommend the same to you too :)
Service was great! We tried the fried goat cheese and the salmon bites and both were amazing. When it came to the main course they were extremely dissapointing. We tried the fish and chips, lamb burger, and the chicken cordon bleu and none of the then tasted seasoned. The food was just plain and unsatisfying for the prices.
Bar has good options to chose. I was not impressed by the main entrees or dessert entrees on the menu though. We ordered Brick roasted half chicken and it was the worst. Wish there was more detail about their potatoes fries saying it is steamed and not deep fried. Chicken was too dry. We did receive just a thigh and wing for a half chicken. I was expecting a breast piece though. Pros Great atmosphere and ambience for drinks Cons Not a great menu Brick Roasted chicken was horrible
I’ve been here a number of times for work. It’s a nice bar for grabbing drinks, and it has good apps, but the entrees are awful. I had the spice bag the other night. It was six very small chicken nuggets and the rest of the bag was fries. The breading on the chicken was tough and the chicken was dry to the point of being inedible. On another occasion, I had the fish and chips and had a bad piece of fish.
This establishment is among the most unwelcoming I have encountered. Upon requesting a beer, the bartender served a glass that was only half-filled. When I pointed out the unsatisfactory pour, the bartender provided another glass but then requested that I not return. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was informed that my concerns would not be considered, as the manager fully supported the bartender's actions.
