Oscar's of Dublin Dublin Reviews
We had a date night here and it had been on our bucket list to try. I guess this place has been around for like 30 years. We walk by it all the time and seems to always be packed. It's kinda small and cozy. Gives like a dinner B&B vibe which I liked. The menu was small and selective which I also liked. Hate having too much to choose from. They hit all the high notes for dinner items though. The drinks were fairly standard nothing too crazy they did have some seasonal drinks they added which were pretty tasty. I went with the New York strip dinner and my fiance got a ricotta meatball pasta which was fantastic. I will say that my steak and the mashed potatoes came out cold and needed to get refired but it was a solid steak. Our server was fantastic he came just the right amount of time and checked it on us what we needed but for the most part we had more than enough time to talk and converse and he mysteriously showed up right what we needed him each time. All in all I'm glad we went here and we enjoyed our time but I'm not sure if we would be going back.
Went here for Restaurant Week for the first time. Both the food and service was excellent even though they were very busy. I had the Sticky, Cauliflower which was cooked very well, the Veal Scallopine that was well seasoned, and the Blueberry Bread Pudding. Small place, but highly recommended. I will be back.
Christopher was our waiter and he was amazing. We had a party of 8 walk in on a spur of the moment and they sat us immediately. We were all both shocked and super happy. The food was divine. I had the Beyond Burger sliders and a beet salad, but I was also looking at the vegan egg plant Parmesan, so they had plenty of vegan options. Oh, and the peanut butter pie was delicious! Christopher was super as a waiter and if I'm back in the area, I'll be back here, looking for him as a waiter. He served all of us properly and quickly. He gets 5 stars, too. Don't be afraid to go to Oscar's!
Our waitress Emma provided excellent service. My wife had the small plate crab cake and I had the Chicken Ricotta Meatballs, both were very good.
Oscar's is always a favorite. I only get here a few times a year.....but I'm never disappointed. Staff are always great, food is always great and the atmosphere is always great. I love the old hardwood plank floors and they keep it just dark enough to keep it feeling cozy.
Terrific experience, great drinks, food, and deserts, all complimented by genuinely good service and friendly conversation.
Upscale boutique style restaurant with seating available both inside and at the patio. Drinks were scrumptious and dinner was great. Parking is available across the street behind the library. Restaurants is located within walking distance to Dublin Bridge.
Great service, delicious food, and great prices! I would definitely recommend this! The new York strip was perfection, and they really made extra effort to make sure it was prepared the way I like it.
BEST food and best point in Dublin. Thank you, Christopher for a wonderful dining experience. Banana cream pie was great.
Great food and incredibly cozy place. Staffs are really helpful. Love the selection of menu. Got something for every one. Would love to come again.
One of my favorite places in Dublin. Delicious food, awesome location, great service!
We arrived near closing time, but they were kind and provided great service. We sat outside under the pergola which had vines growing in them that they use in one of their wines. The food was very good and the price was modest. It was an excellent experience, I highly recommend Oscars.
Wanted a new spot we had not tried for a birthday lunch last week. Oscar's was on our radar for awhile so we checked out the menu and made a reservation. The four of us all commented on the ambiance of the place - quiet, quaint, comfortable. Zoey was our server and she was great. Not pushy, took care of us without hovering, didn't rush us, and gave good advice when asked about some offerings. We each ordered something different and were very satisfied with the items we chose. My husband and I have already talked about returning very soon and I'm betting this wonderful spot will quickly become a favorite. NOTES: 1.) They have a patio for outside seating. 2.) Parking is available on the street or in the free parking garage and lot across the street.
Went last night for the first time and loved it. Sat outside - they made it as nice as you reasonably could for a street-side outdoor area. Wine list was pretty good, covering a wide variety of styles and price points. All restaurant wine is heavily marked up over retail, but theirs was on the lower end of markups. Wine we had was great. Bread was basic but good. Wife ordered the salmon dish - good price and she absolutely loved it. She wants to go back just for that dish. I ordered the NY Strip. I'm a little more mixed on the review. The mushrooms were amazing and the mashed potatoes were good. The gravy was poured over the steak - I loved the flavor but would order it on the side next time. The cut of meat was a bit of a let down. I had recently made my own NY strip at home and it was a much better cut even though it was a discount cut at a butcher. The cook of the meat itself was fine though. Overall, we will be back for certain. The prices are reasonable for the food and area, service was good, and the food was good.
We are here on a Saturday night about 6:30. When we walked by there was no one sitting at the nice patio, even though it was a comfortable evening. This made us a little Leary, but decided to try the place anyway. Boy are we glad we did. I had sausage and shrimp pasta and my wife had salmon. Both were perfect. Very well seasoned, prepared to perfection. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, wine list, etc and was very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back BTW, when we left every table on the patio was full and the inside looked full as well. Guess it's just a later crowd.
Have been wanting to come here for years. Finally made it on New Year’s Eve. Sat at the bar and enjoyed dinner and some drinks. Everything we had was good. Not great but good. We had hoped our steaks had a little more flavor but otherwise was good. Liked the bar and will go back.
Great food and friendly staff. They got some interesting dishes that got wasabi mixed with mashed potatoes. They got pretty good appetizers: devil eggs and steak sticks. It’s got what they call creative american cuisine ( i think it’s another way of say fusion)
Had the brisket sandwhich. Sandwhich was good parking was inadequate. Servers were nice and friendly.
The appetizers were really good. Love the atmosphere. We went for happy hour, but learned that the happy hour prices don't carry on to the main diving area, but the waitress have us the happy hour prices for our drinks anyway. That was very nice of her/ them.
This place is adorable. Spent Saturday night here for Valentine’s Day and the atmosphere is super quaint and cozy Our waitress Patricia(?) was super friendly and on her A game. I did order a steak here and it was a little more done than requested. I wasn’t blown away by it but a 13oz at that price was fair. Aside from my one steak complaint, everything we had was very good. Drinks were spectacular and we’re excited to come back and try the rest of the menu !
