The Legal Eagle Dublin Reviews
Had Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. I had beef and my husband had chicken and the meat was cooked to perfection. Vegetable sides were all really tasty as was the gravy. The chef is clearly passionate about his food. His home made ice cream is a must-try. Service all great. Would definitely recommend.
Over in Dublin for a long weekend and, after an online recommendation, decided to give the Legal Eagle a visit for Friday night dinner so phoned up and managed to get a last minute reservation. It did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly. Food was so good that neither of us left anything on our plates. And the price was so reasonable we actually thought it was a little too low for the quality of the food! So good we booked a table for Saturday night.
Really delicious flavours paired with traditional Irish options. Pictured here are Wicklow fried brie, pork scratches, roast beef with a side of chunky crispy chips and a treacle tart with sea salt ice cream. Weekend 2 course or 3 course options at reasonable price for such good quality food. Really friendly staff and great service!
Five stars it's not enoughy to score as the place is just so amazing... Atmosphere, service and food makes that place super special. We felt super welcomed and would recommend that place for sure 😍
Had a lovely Sunday evening roast here. They were very accommodating and the atmosphere was very cosy. The only negative is that the selection of roasts were SO good, it made it nearly impossible to decide! The beef was cooked to perfection and would come back on my next to Dublin. Recommend to anyone.
Hadn’t been here since before the pandemic, but it’s just as good as ever. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff were attentive, warm, and friendly. It was a little quiet but it was fairly stormy, so town seemed quiet in general. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, their food is fantastic! 😍
When I debated about ordering the Sunday Roast with pork, chicken or beef, our waitress said, “It’s Irish beef,” and that sealed the deal. My entire meal was so delicious, and my pescatarian husband enjoyed the vegetarian option with mushroom loaf. That’s hard to find! Service was friendly and prompt. We will be back the next time we’re in Dublin. (The Legal Eagle is easy to reach at the Four Courts stop on the Luas tram red line.)
We had an early dinner today and were pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly and helpful, both of our meals were delicious. I had the best pork chop I’ve ever eaten! The atmosphere was nice too. Highly recommend!
Went for Sunday lunch and got the roast pork belly. My plate was stacked - the pork skin had to be cut off and enjoyed separately it was so good and everything else was delicious, but the roast potatoes could use a little work. Perfect way to get you through a Sunday with great atmosphere, lovely staff, and a good drinks selection. Definitely book as it gets busy.
Had a really lovely time here with a group of friends. We ate from a 3 course set menu and it was absolutely delicious. Service was fantastic. Felt really looked after. It feels a bit edge of town but it’s defo worth a visit. Highly recommended.
I'll start by saying that one of the most exquisite combinations I tried was the burrata dish, where you could pair the burrata with a delicious fig that had the perfect balance of sweetness (not too sweet, not too bitter). We were truly impressed. Don't miss out on trying this combination! Next, we had the salmon tartare, which was delicious, and for the main course, we went with chicken and beef. As Argentinians and meat lovers, the beef was perfectly cooked! The broccoli purée alongside the chicken, which was very tender, was so good that we asked to take the leftovers with us! The portions are super generous. The service was impeccable, and the staff had a great vibe, just how we like it. In terms of service and food quality, it's one of the best places we've been to in Dublin. Let's not forget the wine—we finished the entire bottle between the two of us! It was super smooth and the perfect choice to complement the meal.
One of the best roasts we have ever had. Staff were very attentive and gave some great recommendations for things to do in Dublin. Two glasses of malbec and two roasts came to about €75 inc. service charge. Super handy location for anyone staying or visiting the city centre. Would highly recommend.
Favorite meal of the trip. Excellent food and fantastic service. Dessert was phenomenal with the homemade maple vanilla ice cream and the pecan pie was the best I’ve ever had!! Servers also gave a great variety of recommendations for other establishments in the area and for things to do in Dublin.
Had the Angus Beef Sunday Roast. Been travelling Europe and UK for a month and this is hands down the best meal I've had since leaving home. Also the Pecan Pie with Maple Syrup and Ice Cream was delicious!! Great Service and atmosphere too. Thankyou !!
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here! The food was freshly cooked and plentiful! We had Tuna starter which was excellent. Roast Beef was beautifully pink and the Yorkshire puds were outstanding! Cocktails were also really good and the basque cheesecake dessert was lovely too! Special shout out to Alison who was extremely friendly helpful and fun to engage with! Looking forward to our return visit!! Thanks everyone!
Heard great things about the Sunday roast here and was certainly not disappointed! Pork belly was delicious with amazing crackling, would have loved a bit more roast veggies but sure I was stuffed at the end of it! Service was very good, with friendly banter. We got a great table in middle of restaurant, although I saw a few seats I would not like to be in!
Absolutely no bad comments. The place was absolutely clean and the staff was really nice. The food is plenty and tasty. Will return on my next visit to the city
Man, that’s delicious! My husband and I had a few of the starters to split for our dinner, and everything was delicious. This is modern Irish cooking at its absolute finest. The front of house team were all knowledgeable, friendly, and really made us feel welcome. Tip: order the focaccia if you order the mussels: you’ll need it for mopping up. 10/10, no notes. Thank you, Legal Eagle!
Sunday Roast on Christmas Eve was tasty. Friendly and fast service… Only thing missing was a dollop of horseradish for the beef roast, which they had if I would have asked… The staff were busy, but I had 3-4 different people helping at my table. Seems they could better organize themselves, so I didn’t have to have so many different services or asked for things multiple times. I ordered a side dish and it never came… didn’t say anything, as it wasn’t in my bill when I paid. I am giving high rating because it was Christmas and I was the last reservation for the day… think it would have been better if I wasn’t dining solo.
If you're in Dublin this is a must stop for you. Great food, service and restaurant. Had a very nice anniversary dinner. Everything we ate was delicious.
Went here for Sunday Roast and it was delicious and very good value for money. I had the nut roast. The staff were lovely too!
Went from the airport, to Dublin City via bus. Immediately off the bus and got to The Legal Eagle for a Sunday roast. Firstly, the service was brilliant. Warm, friendly and attentive. We were served by Emerie who was very bubbly and good fun. The Sunday beef roast was exceptional. Very rich in flavours, the roast has everything you'd expect, but also had a fantastic carrot and turnip puree that went brilliantly with the meat. The meat was a little stringy, but was tender and flavoursome. Each bite made me do a little happy dance in my seat, so I think that's a good enough review in itself!
The Legal Eagle is awesome. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. They’re not in the Temple Bar area, so for a Saturday, it was still super lively but not too packed. I highly recommend it!
A fantastic place. We popped in for Sunday lunch and it was delicious, filling and good value. We tried the pork, beef and chicken. The pork won but everyone enjoyed their meal. Great accompaniments veggies and Yorkshires...
Fabulous service, great surroundings. Food was amazing, just came out a little cold for us. We would recommend and return again!
The food is fantastic and so is the personnel. You feel at home right at the gate. The pigeon and the pie and the figs and burrata and of course the perfectly poured Guinness. We were there two nights in a row. Thanks
Yumm! We love having Sunday roast here. I went to another place in Malahide known for roasts and it was not nearly as good as Legal Eagle! The carrots are roasted to perfection. The roasted chicken is my husbands favorite but I love the beef. The cabbage is so good and gives a lot of great flavor. The potatoes… could be better. They’re the only part of the plate that is lacking. The skin is very tough making them seem stale. Just not as good as other roast potatoes you can get in Ireland. But the whole plate is a triumph and we love coming here. The staff is very friendly and the ambience is cozy with modern touches.
Service was amazing. The food was delicious. Super efficient and splendid atmosphere. Definitely treat yourself, book a table, and have a wonderful evening.
Really nice staff. Food was very nice and the portions were generous. Great for Sunday dinner.
I recently had a Sunday roast with a group of friends. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
Canadian couple dropped in while staying write down the street from the Hampton Hotel in Downtown Dublin the food was excellent and the service was even better. Nice local young man complete with the poor boy hot and great accent served us with exemplary style and was very entertaining. Highly recommend if you're visiting
Had the Sunday roast. Food was excellent although the portions were a little on the small side. Good atmosphere although a little cramped.
Really great atmosphere for a drink. But the food was only okay, especially for the price point. I wouldn’t come back for it, by any means. The staff were so hard to get attention from, didn’t check in on us and could barely even get them to pay. The spicy margarita wasn’t spicy so if you want a regular margarita order the spicy, it’s €2 cheaper. The cherry blossom was GORGEOUS. So was the Belfast coffee. The Go Figure was nail polish remover - steer clear.
A very mixed bag. Focaccia is served cold. The butter wasn’t great. Chicken wings were over done and dry but the sauce with them was nice. The monkfish scampi dish was fantastic. Excellent home made chips. The blackberry cheesecake was terrible - no biscuit base, the cream was grainy, and the dessert portion was small. Service went wrong somehow, was an hour after sitting down that the food arrived. Gorgeous venue inside. Maybe we got a bad service on this particular evening
I hate to write this review but feel it was warranted based on our recent experience. We have been wanting to go legal eagle Sunday roast for a while based on different reviews. Finally we were in the area and stopped by. Overall it was a bad experience. The roast was €27 for beef which is a lot higher than most roasts in the area. Which I’d be fine paying if the roast was amazing but that wasn’t the case. The meat was extremely thin slices of beef and cooked to the point I could event cut the beef. Our table didn’t recent even a steak knife so it was very difficult to eat. Also, we didn’t receive any side gravy and there was barely on the plate. Also it was mainly big roasted potatoes that were fairly dry with a little bit of mash and stuffing. I really was hoping this would be a new Sunday roast spot but this was just a bad experience.
Staff were mostly polite, and the food was tasty but not an enjoyable experience - as our booking was larger, when we arrived we were told we had to order from the set menu, 48 Euro per person, or not eat at all. The reason we booked this place was because of its menu, and then being told we are not allowed to look at it was annoying. Then the waitress later on told me that I had 'broken an agreement' by saying 'that's great' to the email where she said she had sent me a group set menu (she had not) and as I had my phone open, she asked me to look at the email- I felt like this was rude- and then when I looked at the email and it wasn't there, she said "I'm going to get you a printout but honestly you're going to have to leave at 9:00 p.m." this was at 7:30 p.m. we (meaning 3 of the 8 ppl) had just ordered our food from a set menu (that we didn't want). The restaurant had six empty tables minimum the whole time we were eating, they did not need the space, they just wanted to be rude. Myself and my party agreed that we will never book here ever again.
Unfortunately, the Sunday roast was served cold apart from the potatoes. Beef was chewy and hard to cut. Staff member commented on how quick we were in restaurant (we had no starter and knew what we wanted) which came across as offensive as it was pointed out to us twice. Stuffing was a highlight
We came for the Sunday roast and were incredibly disappointed. Potatoes were dry, received half a carrot and very little stuffing, and dry chicken, bland cold yorkshires. Beef portion was quite small and dry as well. Incredibly overpriced not to mention we had to flag down service for drinks and for the bill.
