Wallace's Taverna North City Reviews
Amazing food in this authentic Italian restaurant just opposite Eyemazy, cosy atmosphere and the waiters were really knowledgeable about the food ! We got bruschetta and pork belly for our starters, and a squid ink pasta and tuna pizza for the main course . I cannot remember the name of the dessert but it was incredible!! We will be back , everything was 11/10
Beautiful place with beautiful food!! A place with nice vibe for meet up with friends, to have a lovely glass of wine and authentic Italian food!! Lovely waitresses, very helpful with the menu and just in general super nice! Freshly made pasta, dessert and fantastic starter!!! Thank you to the whole team!
We were in the mood for Italian so we went to this place and it was a great choice. It’s quite a busy place - we were lucky enough to get a table but to be sure I would book a table in the future. It’s very cozy and rustic decor inside and it has two floors. We ordered the Burrata and two pizzas (the Gorgonzola and the Brigante 2.0), they also had many different drink options and actually made me a Limoncello spritz even though it wasn’t on the menu which was very kind of them. The service was excellent and speedy, the Burrata came out at the same time as the drinks did and not even 15 minutes later after we finished the appetiser our pizzas came out. The staff were very attentive and brilliant and were kind enough to pack up our leftovers in a to go box and made sure to thank us and say bye to us as we were leaving. If we lived close enough we’d definitely order from them (The Burrata is seriously to die for, please do yourself a favour and order it - it tastes like a bruschetta but as a cheese and the bread was delicious as well as the thinly sliced crispy bread on top was gorgeous) but for now we’d have to settle for coming back here again!
Their lunch menu is an absolutely fantastic deal, including a starter & a main for a price unparalleled in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here and thought it was a great spot. However, the pasta did not taste homemade/fresh on the occasion I went here. Perhaps it was reheated, but it did not taste like authentic Italian pasta, which is what I would expect for an Italian restaurant, but perhaps that's the catch on the lunch menu's price!
We had dinner there as two couples, ordering 2 starters and 4 mains, with an average of 3 drinks each. It came out to €40 per person, which is great for Dublin, especially considering the drink prices. All the dishes were delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. As for the staff, they were attentive and suggested similar options when we realized the drinks we wanted weren’t on the menu. The only downside was that the fire alarm went off by mistake during the evening, and it took a long 10 minutes to stop. Even so, we had a great night, and everything was top quality. If I had to recommend something, I’d say the upstairs is much more pleasant than the downstairs.
Managed to get a last-minute booking for this place and it was really good! It soon filled out with other customers and the food was delivered to our table in a pretty quick time. The pizza was delicious and my tartlet dessert was really good! Maybe could be better with presentation... it's always a little questionable when smearing chocolate across a plate. Overall, great service, reasonably priced and not far from central Dublin.
Highly recommend visiting Wallace’s in the city centre in Dublin. I have been going for years, it’s still really good food, very friendly staff and great location. Not too much vegan options but recommend the Bruschetta and Birra Ichnusa if you’re looking for a tasty snack and beer! Go check it out.
I've been to this restaurant many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. I've tried their pizza, fresh handmade pasta, and desserts. Pizza is great, but my favourite is probably their carbonara, one of the best - if not the best - in Dublin. Creamy and authentic. The staff is very nice and the service is good. Prices are in line with similar places.
Stopped in here for lunch. 3 adults and 2 kids. Ordered a couple of pizzas and 3 pasta dishes. We all shared them and they were all really nice. The pizzas in particular were the standout. Friendly efficient service too. Will definitely be back.
Really good value for lunch and special mention to the waiter he was very good at his job
A great traditional Italian restaurant which does fantastic food! The atmosphere here was really nice as we were served by Italian waiters who were very friendly. It was surprisingly empty when visiting, although we did arrive here at their opening time around 5pm.
I’ve walked by Wallace Taverna in Dublin so many times and I’ve seriously missed out. We went there for dinner as a large group where most ordered pizza and I ordered the seafood tagliolini which had razor clams, squid, clams, prawns, langoustines and squid ink (if I recall correctly). I found the tagliolini to be very rich in umami and a true delight to eat. Very delicious al dente pasta too, cementing Wallace Taverna’s place in my top 5 Italian restaurants in Dublin. Just on the staff, there was some contrast in the conduct of some of the staff (in my view) where one of them was super friendly and professional while in contrast, one of them was rather frosty in how they interacted with the restaurant’s guests. Overall, our time with Wallace Taverna, Dublin was an enjoyable one and would definitely go here again.
The pizzas and rigatoni were amazing! Very flavorful and definitely worth the price! Tons of menu options.
As Italian I can say that this restaurant is really good! The service is kind and friendly, the food is amazing it tastes 100% Italian, we have ordered: Bruschetta (classical style and good taste), Tagliolini Frutti di Mare (the best pasta with seafood I've ever eaten out of Italy) and Tiramisu (I don't usually eat it cuz I don't like it, but their Tiramisu is excellent). I recommend to try it
Lovely spot, have been here a few times now. The Pizza is great. I recommend the Affogato . Great wine list too
This place is a must visit if you like authentic Italian pizza. The last time I had a pizza this good was in Calabria two years ago! Certainly value for money with pizzas in the range of €11-15. The staff are friendly. There is a wide menu selection of Italian foods. You can choose from wines of various grape and countries. Brilliant location looking out into a busy street so ample people watching. Five stars well deserved!
I just ordered on Deliveroo two wonderful pizzas. One 4 Formaggi to whom I added some Nduja and Italian sausage; and a Tonno e Cipolle to whom I added cured ham. The pizzas were very tasty and the toppings were of good quality. I’ll order again
I just walked in here with a girl pal on a Friday night, we didn't have a reservation and was worried we won't get a spot but luckily got seated. We ordered our meals which despite the restaurant being full came in decent time(15-17mins). The food was delicious it was gooooodd😍 especially the 12hr braised beef cheek my friend got. I had the tagiolini pescorata** and it was tasty and seasoned properly. The server was nice enough to bring me chilli flakes cause I love my food hot. Great place.
The vibe here is amazing and suits all ages. Pizza is nice and stone baked I suppose. Pizza per person definitely with regard to serving size. Desserts can be smaller in size compared to the price. Overall a nice authentic Italian experience.
Very delicious Neapolitan style pizza 🍕 friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, they brought pizza very fast 👌🏼 everything was great 🫶🏽
Loved the pizza - and even more the amazing dessert. Was a recommendation to try the place out, and what a good one it turned out to be!
Fantastic, tasty food with reasonable prices. Staff attentive.
It's absolutely the best pizza I've ever ate in my life, I've been once even to Italy and this place managed to provide just the best. Great staff, beautiful place and the PIZZAaaa is incredible 👏 100% recommended! Grazzie
It was a great experience, the food was so fresh and tasty and the new dessert the pistacho brownie was delicious, they should keep it as offcial dessert.
The pizza was a masterpiece! The place was cozy and quiet, the selection of wine was pretty interesting but the reason I was there was the pizza, the crust was perfect for my taste, the sauce was flavorful, and the toppings were great and plentiful. I especially loved the "Regina". A must-try!
I came here in 2025 when I stayed at a hotel nearby. In 2026, I made the trip downtown specifically for it again. I’ll do it every year my work sends me to Dublin.
The pizza was fantastic! The crust was perfectly crispy on the edges and had a nice chewiness in the middle. The tomato sauce was flavorful, and the toppings were generous and fresh. I especially loved the combination of the spicy 'nduja and gorgonzola cheese. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place and the pizza Diavola.
Authentic Italian food and vibe. Fairly good prices for Dublin standards, especially considered its location: right in heart of the city centre, across the river from Temple Bar. I'd say walk ins have a better chance of getting a table from 6 to 7pm. If planning to get there after that, better to book in advance. The lasagna is fantastic! Entrees (pancetta/pork belly bacon and mozzarella) were also really good.
I always enjoy the food here, last night was no different. I ordered two starters the pork belly and the bruschetta, glass of wine service was really good food was tasty and the price is very good for you. This is a solid reliable Italian restaurant in the heart of Dublin that never fails to delight
Lovely Italian restaurant serving proper delicious Italian food. We ordered seafood pasta and pizza and both tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly and quick and they all seemed Italian. On the down side, the restaurant is a little dark inside and you get to hear lots of Italian music on full blast. Having said that we'll be back again.
The place is standart. My friends and I waited for our food for over an hour. However according to my friend who has been previously there, she did not wait that long so it could be that it was a busy night for them. The food was delicious. The pizza was thin. It's easy to find/ in a good central location. I would recommend making a reservation before hand.
The food is great. Very high quality Calzone, I definitely recommend it with Provolone, Prosciutto, Cherry tomatoes and Basil. It is going to be one of your best meals! Staff is very friendly. Negative points: no digital media interactions, answers in social. Prices of their mains are a bit to high in my opinion. Pizza prices might be lowered but they're in range with Dublin offering.
Are you a real Italian? Are you looking for real italian food? This is the right place in Dublin to have dinner with friends. Cozy and welcoming it has probably the widest choice of wines in town. You can meet Anderson here, a very experienced waiter that speaks Italian as well. We had a magnificent experience, will definitely come back.
The two of us shared a cheese board, pizza and pasta. I think it would have been better to get a smaller portion of the cheese board... It started off a little too cheesy haha which made the next white pizza a little more hard to enjoy, although it tasted good. The pasta was definitely different, nothing we've tried before but tasty. Next time I would like to try the more classic Italian dishes to really see how authentic it is. They have a large selection of wines, the bottle we ordered was excellent! Although, the beach reggae music that was being played was not my vibe for January in Dublin 😆
Pizza was delicious (as usual) and service was great (we got a vegan dessert for free). Unfortunately, pasta (paccheri with swordfish) didn't meet our Italian expectations, I would suggest the owner to revisit the preparation.
Pizza options are great however variety of other mains is limited. Waiters were always confused which order to which table. Wine and drinks are good as well.
A historic restaurant located on the corner of the all-Italian pedestrian street and the river in the heart of Dublin. It looks really nice, is cosy, clean, and has a person waiting to greet you at the door. Five-star efficiency, politeness, competence, and quickness. excellent work! Although a tad chewy, the pizza was still good. We didnt like the tiramisu, the cookies had a weird flavour. Beer ichnusa makes you feel something:)
I’m not sure I’d recommend it because of the price. Four people, three small colas, and the bill was €95. The food is good—the Neapolitan and mushroom pizzas were delicious, and the Bolognese pasta, though overly saucy, had great flavor. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly, which is the best part of the place. However, despite the generous portions, I felt the price wasn’t quite justified. Dublin is expensive, but there are other spots in the city center with the same quality at lower prices.
Had dinner with friends last night, staff are excellent and pizza is amazing 🤩 Very disappointed with the bread being served with bruschetta and boards. The bread served was tasteless - where is the rustic bread gone. The tiramisu was dreadful, biscuits were dry and hard, not enough of the creamy element and overall not a tiramisu you expect in a rustic restaurant like this. We have eaten here many times over ghe years and know how good these elements used to be
