El Sabor Pasero El Paso Reviews
Visiting El Paso and found myself at the beautiful and classic Hotel Paso Del Norte. On the first floor of the hotel you will find Sabor restaurant. The setting is elegant and the ambiance was very pleasant during my visit. The service at Sabor was excellent and the food was exquisitely prepared. The flavors truly matched the presentation and was very happy to have decided to take a chance on a “hotel restaurant” which sometimes can be with mixed results. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you happen to be around downtown El Paso. Prices are a little above average so be ready.
Enjoyed the breakfast and dinner hear through the week. Breakfast service was great, but dinner service was a little lacking some evenings. All food from a burger to the salmon and grits were very tasty. Being in the hotel is very convenient with prices that won't hurt your wallet.
Best Sunday Brunch spot in El Paso! The music is great, not too loud. I enjoy a place where I can sip on a mimosa (champagne with a splash of OJ) and not have to yell across the table because the music is so loud. We went for the buffet and the food was amazing, and the price was great. Not only that but the staff was so wonderful! It’s definitely a Brunch spot I will add to my favs. Oh but don’t stay at the hotel. Their staff is really horrible.
I recently dined at Sabor with my sons and had an outstanding experience, thanks to the incredible management. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The manager, Janice, was incredibly attentive and made sure she checked in with us personally to ensure we were happy with our meals and the overall experience, which made a huge difference. The staff was clearly well-trained and motivated, and it was evident that Janice creates a positive and efficient work environment. The service was prompt, friendly, and professional, and the quality of the food was top-notch, thank you to the chef Johnny. I will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant to others. It’s rare to see such a well-managed establishment, and Janice’s attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction made the experience truly memorable.
Alejandra was amazing. Her costumer service made the whole experience. Food was timely and delicious. As a whole would recommend, keep up the amazing service !
Alain was awesome with our service hardly recomend the place and brunch and buffet delicious.
First time here. Took my Lovely wife to La Mafia and Siggno concert in the plaza. And we were looking for a place to eat. We weren't to sure about Sabor it looked a little too fancy for me 😁 but I gatta tell you, it has a great atmosphere. The waiter Noah was great. And the 32 oz Rib eye was delicious. I'm not ganna lie, I thought it was better than cattlemans and great American. The seasoning they used gave the rib eye such a wonderful taste and they cooked it perfectly to my liking. My wife's salad looked good aswell but I like a good steak 😋. A little pricey but it was worth it. Definitely going back on Saturday between 6pm and 10pm when the 32oz rib eye is available. I would definitely recommend 👌
Husband and I went to try their breakfast buffet and we were greeted so nicely and by our family name (they even said it as we left) loves that! The buffet had a great array of different foods and the price wasn't too bad. Our server was very kind and made sure we were always taken care of!
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. Alejandra is an excellent example of customer service. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend Sabor!
Not sure what the 1 star folks are complaining about , but after more than 250 reviews I’ve done here’s my take on Sabor .. service was excellent by Erin … Had wonderfully suggested guest favorites as well as her own personal favs … She was not intrusive on our conversation and timed our food perfectly.. Food was hot and delicious , only complaint would be a little pricey on most items . But it is in The Hotel Paso Del Norte … Thanks Erin for a pleasant dining experience.
Greetings y'all. A very nice and comfortable restaurant inside of the Paso Del Norte Hotel. My server was Brittany. I was in early for breakfast. I enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros. I also had pancakes. Very good food.
We were staying in the hotel and heard that this restaurant was actually good. I tend to dine outside of a hotel but it was a good choice. Our server was super friendly. I love mezcal so I started with Sabor Margarita. It was delicious. And you get a lot more drink for just one dollar more than the Tomi Margarita. We shared guacamole and chips and queso for appetizers. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. The queso was pretty thick but good. For my entree, I was going to get tacos but the Sabor Smash Burger was highly recommended. It was delicious! The beef patties were cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious and the fries were nice and crisp. I’d recommend trying their restaurant for whatever cuisine you desire.
Please read the entirety of this comment. Here is my SCORE: 1. Atmosphere: 5/5 2. Service: 5/5 3. Flavor: 5/5 4. Cost: 5/5 Total Score: 5/5 Sabor at El Paso is a gem and a MUST-visit for anyone who enjoys flavorful Mexican cuisine. It does have a Mexican twist with a hipster vibe to it. I ordered their signature enchiladas suizas (exquisite), chips with queso (delicious), and their sweet taco asada. The attention to detail in the presentation and the warm, welcoming service made the experience truly memorable. The staff was attentive and ensured everything was perfect. They even let me in with my dog!!!! The flavors were bold, fresh, and uniquely satisfying. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for its exceptional customer service, flavors, and cozy atmosphere. Sabor en El Paso is a true culinary delight! I hope we get to come back soon, cheers!
Ordered the Hamburgesa Sabor. Did not realize it is a double meat and double cheese burger. Topped with fine slices of purplenonion and hatch green chiles. This burger is flavorful and so juicy the bottom bun was slightly wet. Fries were made to perfection and crunchy. Recommend trying this for lunch as it will not disappoint.
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying brunch at Sabor restaurant in El Paso, Texas, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere of the restaurant. One of the first things that caught our attention was the impressive spread of food on offer. From salads and pastries to different kinds of meat, there was something for everyone. As we were in the mood for Mexican food, we were pleased to find that the selection did not disappoint. The dishes were much more flavorful and of higher quality than your typical continental breakfast fare. Some of my personal favorites included the Caprese Salad, Chalaquiles, and the delectable pastry spread. We also appreciated that drinks were included in the price, although there was an option to add unlimited margaritas for an additional $10. The live singers provided a wonderful ambiance and entertainment for guests throughout the brunch. While the cost of $40 per person plus a 20% service charge may be a bit steep for some, the quality and variety of the food make it well worth the price. Additionally, the friendly and attentive waitstaff made the experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Sabor restaurant for brunch, and I look forward to returning in the future to sample more of their delicious offerings.
Was planning to have brunch here, but found out that they offered buffet for lunch. Turned out to be a nice and casual decision. Basically every dish Sabor offers is is all GOOD !!! For vegetables, you have to try their Brussel sprouts, perfectly caramelized and seasoned, i myself can have a full dish of it. Their brisket was also nicely grilled, plus their homemade salsa and guacamole, you can make yourself probably thr best tacos in town. The variety of vegetables is a big plus here, I personally ate 3 dishes of different kinds of salad made of their vegetable offerings. Last but not the least, the live music and the interior decoration, am thinking about come here at least once per month!!!
I was taking a BLS class in the area and needed a quick bite before it started. This restaurant popped up nearby, so we headed over—and I’m happy we did! I was immediately impressed by the ambiance—the wall trims and the rich blue color throughout were stunning, giving the place a unique vibe. There was no wait, and we were seated and served quickly, which I appreciated since I was short on time. I ordered the quesadilla, and it came out in about 10 minutes. It was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had—a little spicy, but incredibly flavorful and delicious. We had to rush out, but I'm already looking forward to coming back and taking my time to try more from the menu. T
This was such a great experience. Food: lots of great quality options. This is not your typical mediocre food selections. They has smoked ribs smoked in their smoker (delicious) smoked brisket (amazing), salmon (not fishy), chilaquiles (spicy). Drinks: You can get bottomless mimosas, micheladas (XX beer) or Bloody Mary with juice and topping bar to customize your drinks. Gratuity is included in the bill and a $20 service charge. We paid $127 for two: buffet, mimosa for me and beer for him. Worth it for sure. Will become a regular on our list. Atmosphere: this is a busy establishment with out of towners and locals. If you can make reservation do so for a shorter wait. There is guy singing and playing the guitar. He was very talented.

The brunch buffet was delicious, excellent service, and a nice atmosphere. Located inside of the Paso del Norte Hotel, which is an El Paso historic landmark and luxury architectural design, makes you feel like a tourist in a big city.

We went with a group of 4, it was our first time. The restaurant is nice and maintained. The hamburger (torta) was tasty. They had a mac and cheese that I definitely will need to go back and try again as well. Overall had a good experience!

I read all the review, so I was cautious. Here is my opinion. I ordered the Hatch Burger expecting it to be spicy like it is In Hatch; however, it was only as spicy as the pepper Jack cheese that was on it. There was a dab of aïoli on the top and very few pieces of caramelized onions. I added bacon in the event this did not have a good taste, and I am not a French fry fan so my server (Dio) suggested a side salad substitute (great call). So, let’s get to the Hatch burger. The beef had good flavor and it was cooked to perfection (a little pink but no blood), was very juicy and filled me up. The salad was a great blend of greens and a few beans and more than I expected. The atmosphere I think could be improved, but they have to unlock the visi-coolers where the wine is displayed so maybe there are issues or Branding requirements that I don’t understand. My server Dio, she was amazing and made sure my experience was good the entire time I was there (and was not overbearing or annoying). I recommend this place. Almost forgot. On the digital menu they give you, if you tap on the food item, a photo and description pops up, so no surprises. And a nice touch.
Tried the restaurant twice during my stay at Hotel Paso del Norte, overall experience was good. Food is ok, but the ambience is great. Most staff are friendly and attentive to the guests. The ribs I ordered wasn't as I expected, but I could have expected wrong.
Ordered the Huevos Rancheros with fried potatoes. The food was good and the service was excellent. The only reason for giving a rating of 4 was that they charge $5 for coffee. My guess is because they bring you a whole pot of coffee, not just a cup. I only drank a cup, so the pot was a waste and was not ordered to begin with, I only expected a single cup. Overall, it was good and will be returning next time I stay at the hotel.

Great bar/restaurant with a cool patio área- however...they need to trim the cactus 🌵 back around the seating area, 2 in our group sat down and got little spines stuck. Also, the outdoor pillows are weathered and leave colored dust on clothing. Sounds nickpicky, however those are the only two items we didn't like. Restrooms were very clean and maintained.
We love staying at this hotel and although the service has never been great at this restaurant, our brunch experience this time was unimpressive to say the least. The food you get for the price is exorbitant. Biscuits were cold and dry, food was bland, a lot of greasy food options. The prime rib and sausage links were good. I would not have been so disappointed had we gotten our bill and not seen a service charge of $16 and $16 for tip automatically added to our bill. This was for two people. Our server spent most of her time talking to people at another table and we had to ask 4 times for water refills with no apologies for having us wait so long. It’s almost as if she didn’t remember that she had said she’d refill our waters the last time she was at our table. Perhaps the bad service is due to servers knowing they will automatically get a good tip no matter their efforts. To have to tip someone $16 to pick up two dirty dishes and forget to refill waters for two people is not ok. My husband and I have always been big tippers but when you are forced to tip over 20% for busser (picking up dirty dishes) services it leaves you with a bad experience and not wanting to return. There are a lot of places around the area that serve far better breakfast for less price and better service.
Food selection and quality is very good and service was friendly. However, they don't publish their prices, so just be aware that the brunch buffet is $40 with an automatic 20% tip even on a party of 1. So make sure you are bringing a healthy appetite to get your $50 worth, or just order from the menu.
While on the second day of a leader summit, we stopped to check out Sabor. Located on the ground floor of the Paseo del Norte Hotel, we found it much easier to get into this one...but the reservation helped out. Compared to Ambar, down the street it was less busy. We were seated, and served water to begin with. Our server, Mario was friendly, and took our drink and lunch orders. The menu items and pictures of those items were available on digital pars We started off with some queso fundido. The queso was good, but a tad bit watery towards the end For lunch I went with the Hatch burger, which was a two patty cheese, hatch green chilies, and it really good and very filling. The tacos looked good. Liz chose the three shrimp tacos plate, which came with a side of green chile rice. It did not last long on her plate. Unlike many of the other locations downtown this place did not have much on the non-alcoholic drink menu, and did not have a lunch menu or special, or discount for military. I would try this location again, sans the uniform.

Service was great - guacamole was disgusting. Amber across the street has better Mexican food than Sabor. For my second visit to El Paso I was actually excited to eat at the hotel because the first time I tried the food in March 2021 it was delicious! We ordered ceviche and tacos and tacos. This time the selections were cut in half and the guacamole was PURÉED. they seriously made the guacamole ahead of time and cooled on the fridge. What the heck.
To shrimp with green rice i ordered was inedible. To salty, I had to return it and did not buy anything else. My other companion on the table ordered nachos and they were inedible (the meat seemed off and from the freezer). We ordered fries and they seemed frozen and spoiled. These are basics..how can they be so royally off. The waiter tried his best and was nice but did not seem to be able to want to acknowledge the food problem. The hotel is beautiful and so is the restaurant. We were told the new chef is there 4 months. SOMEONE GIVE THE CHEF this rating. He has to be informed so he can change what is going on!
$300 for 4 adults at the Sunday breakfast buffet. Brittany, the server, was very polite and efficient. She was wonderful. It was very hot in the restaurant, and we were all sweating while eating. One of us later got sick from something we ate there, unfortunately. That was the only food we’d eaten all day, so we know it was from the buffet. It’s a nice Sunday brunch for special occasions, however the price is a bit much. We had coffee and water- no alcohol. Also, the parking lot machine below the hotel wouldn’t take our credit card, (the machine was having issues) so we tried to pay on the way out. That machine does not accept the discount for eating at the restaurant. It was $17 for parking. We won’t be returning.
Well… if you order the steel cut oats to go, the ones served with fresh blueberries and banana slices, this is what you receive. If. You order the seasonal fruit bowl, this is what you receive. (Photos) Its great if you want a buffet. If you dont want to eat like a pig and order something simple, they make it absolutely impossible to do. They aren’t willing to negotiate. Quite unimpressed. Incredible pancakes here however. So if you Do want to pig out. Its pretty awesome.

The waitress was sweet and the restaurant itself is nice but I wouldn’t come here again. The food was severely over priced, everything lacked flavor. I got chorizo nachos that I’m starting to believe it was soy because it had absolutely no taste. All the other dishes were unfortunately the same.

Listen im a connoisseur I had the carnitas or should I said cornednitas Salted to the max ruined my appetite. Pineapple juice taste like the cheap canned one
5/24/2025 Service was absolutely horrible, we had reservations at 6:30pm and a concert at the Plaza Theater at 8pm, figured that was a perfect timeframe to grab dinner before the show. We arrived and were sat by the male hostess (restaurant was empty), waited a few minutes and someone brought us water and menus and said a female server would be with us shortly. 7:25pm now and no one came back to take our order. We did see a female server walking around and her and the male hostess both walked past us and completely ignored us. We ended up walking out and crossing the street to catch our show, we did pass by the female server as we walked out and was still very nonchalant and didn’t seem to care. I would understand if the restaurant was busy maybe a little wait, but a whole hour without being attended to is just ridiculous. We gave them more time than they deserved. Water was good, though.
The service at the bar is absolutely awful. The bartender Gus doesn’t greet you doesn’t smile, Is not attentive whatsoever. I’ve been here several times and it is very disappointing. The food is pretty good although I was told the chef changed two items on the menu that used to be really good, which are not so great anymore, which are the Charro beans and the chicken tortilla soup.. The atmosphere in this whole hotel is lovely, but I am disappointed every time I go to this bar and that bartender is there. You literally have to wait for an hour to get your check Because he doesn’t come ask you how you’re doing or if you need anything.
Be careful receiving a bill from Valerie at the bar that looks like this. She added a 20% gratuity to the bill and did not tell anyone, it also does not appear on the bill. This was a sneaky move. The word spread at the bar the gratuity was added. For most people it was too late. They already had given an additional 20% tip. One patron questioned her on it and she replied that she did add it but "that it was only 20%". Well Valerie that was a sneaky move and a poor response. What you did was deliberately deceive your patrons, who by the way were going to tip higher than 20% anyway. I hope you find employment elsewhere because you lack integrity. Go tell your manager what you did. I attached a photo so other unsuspecting patrons don't have this happen to them.
I usually recommend the carne asada tacos to my colleagues when in town at Sabor but I will no longer be doing so, I just ordered what I typically order every time I’m here and the portion compared to what it used to be is insulting. Needless to say, I’ll probably eat somewhere else given the recent changes in the portion. I’ve attached photos for reference. $18 for 3 mini tacos that barely have meat in them, no thank you.
It's quite ironic that this restaurant is called "SABOR" (flavor in english) because it lacks flavor on everything but the aestetics, too bad I wasn't there to just look at the place, would have been a 5 star review. This is hands down one of the worst dishes ive ever eaten in El Paso. Taco bell is waaaay better! Even in service! The "enchiladas" (more like mamadas) had minimal cheese and were barely wiped with sauce. The protien was just huge chucks of boiled chicken stuffed into tortilla, which wasnt even warmed up, and there was no cheese or sauce in it at all. They couldn't even be bothered to take out tendons and nerves from chunks. How is this even El Paso? A bordertown? Next to Mexico! How can they be proud to serve this? Would they even eat what they serve? The staff acts like they're on "vanderpump rules," treating customers like they are props to their work day. On top of food, it truly leaves a bad taste in your mouth with how apathic they are. I found solace in the fact that I got to leave while they have to stay. In a Hotel California kind of way. In the end it's sad to think this is the kind of experience out of towners get and receive and locals are tricked into thinking is "fine dining". A bunch of us were there for the expo, and I'm embarrassed for this city when theses restaurants appear to be the norm. Also it was expensive, I don't mind paying top dollar for a meal, it's just gotta be worth it. I wish we had more restaurants like NYC or San Francisco or Vienna, where people actually care, have pride, and love what they serve to their patrons, but again this is El Paso so we get places like "SABOR" instead.

Hostess provided exceptional customer service. Could not tell you if the food was great or not. Waitress Brittany took over 10 minutes to bring us 2 glasses of water. By the way we never did get our waters.
